Hello!

Well I guess it's my turn to explain. Let's start with the point that I'm a devoted fan of the romantic couple okay? However, this came out of me before I realized what I had written.

I was rewatching a few episodes of the third season and rethinking things about Ijuuin and how, in reality, he wasn't a character I disliked at all. The Sentiment couple is my least favorite (I think it's largely the fault of Yanase Yuu not liking me as a character), and, personally speaking, I didn't like what Ijuuin's character morphed into.

I was looking for fanfics that focused on a possible relationship between Misaki and Ijuuin, but since I didn't find any, I decided to write it and this is the result. A universe where Misaki and Usagi don't end up together, but they each, anyway, get their happy ending even if they go their separate ways. Leave it to Takahiro to take care of the Usami family's dilemmas, while Misaki makes out with his favorite manga author.

I honestly feared that Misaki would feel OOC, but if I'm rethinking things, and also due to the circumstances and characters, Misaki if or if he had to be softer than with Usagi. Ijuuin isn't even a third as sarcastic as Usagi is, nor is he as heavy-handed with Misaki; still, I decided that Misaki should have his insecurities when expressing his feelings anyway since, at the end of the day, that's how the character is.

Ijuuin calling Misaki by his last name and, at the same time Misaki calling him as "Sensei" also has that hint of respect and fear of "crossing the line" that, with the romantic couple never happened Xd. Literally from chapter one of Junjo romantica that Misaki didn't have a bit of respect for Usagi, so the difference in dealings was also going to be clear. I feel like it's a Misaki with the personality he adopts when hanging out with his friends. Like Senpai or Everything.

As a last point in this bible, I felt it appropriate to include short sentences in italics and quotation marks between two moments. The first, reflecting Ijuuin's thoughts and the second, Ijuuin's thoughts. I wanted to approach what Nakamura does in the manga (or also as it is in the anime), where the most intense scenes appear in black boxes that reflect the thoughts of the characters. I hope I succeeded.

Anyway, I've already got rid of the desire to write this. Maybe, in the future I'll write some of this AU, although I'm not promising anything.

Thanks so much for reading!

The Machine.

Pdt: While I was writing this I started listening to Sekaiichi Hatsukoi's OST and it hits differently. If you get a chance, with the more sentimental songs on the playlist in the background, read the last part of the fic... It hits in a different way, I swear.
