Chapter 34

Venture Libre

Venture Compound

It's been a couple of months since the whole "mutant student" thing, where after that Naruto spent some time with Triana for the holidays, where after spending some time with Triana's family, with Brock getting some time off due to said holiday, with the three travelling to the Realms for a few days, where luckily Freya was away at the time, so Brock couldn't have any "fun" with her, but Brok took them to a tavern he knew at the Dwarven Realm, where Brock had ended up drunk and slept with one of the dwarven women there called, Lunda, making things a little awkward for Naruto's father, but they soon moved on from that and continued with their adventure.

After that, the trio went their separate ways, well for Triana it was to continue her training, while Brock had gone back to his job, with Naruto returning to the Venture Compound to spend some time with them for the holidays, even "introducing" the game consoles that he bought for everyone to enjoy, along with explaining his reason why he had thought it would help everyone, such as teaching Hank and Dean the wonders of following orders instead of rushing into things, along with the whole "timing-sequence" that the games Naruto got them had, since it'll teach the boys the value of "timing is everything" when it comes to their adventures.

He also stated that with both Hatred and Rusty having a console of their own, it'll allow the whole family to play together on multiplayer/co-op games, thus letting everyone learn how to work together first, before trying any real co-op stuff on their Venture trips, with Naruto also stating that it'll help them all to learn to trust Gary in the future as well.

With that, everyone had spent a few hours playing online games with each other, with Hank, Gary, Hatred and Rusty (though not as much as he wanted to play around), with Naruto making sure no-one plays TOO much on the consoles since they still need to go through their whole daily life and everything, as for Dean, while he was happy to get a new console, at the moment, he wasn't too pleased about it, while they were having breakfast.

Naruto looks towards the boy as they ate, "Look Dean, there's no need to be moody about what happened when J.J. came for the Ray Shield, okay, nothing happened." Naruto simply stated.

Only for Dean to blow up, stating how Naruto ended up sleeping with the girl he probably had an interest towards, though his mind was still fuzzy due to the drugs, but he did see how Naruto had picked the girl up and took her away, thinking the worst.

"(sigh!) Dean, I don't sleep with drugged up people who have no control over themselves, okay, she may have came on to me, but I made sure that nothing happened since I have some moral code that I live by, such as the woman have to being willing and able to agree to sleep with me, meaning that because of the drugs, I couldn't, in good conscious, sleep with her, because it goes against my very nature to sleep with someone who are under the influence of drugs." Naruto states and explains, making everyone look at him in awe, with Hank admiring Naruto for his strong belief, while Hatred gave his respect towards Naruto's earnest ideas, Rusty didn't really care too much about it.

"Though alcohol is kinda a "thin line," cause while I will sleep with women who are drunk, they still have to have a clear head in order for them to agree to spend the night with me, with drunkenness, it's kinda a "balancing" act, ya know, like how the police do the whole drunk test, where the drunkard has to walk a white line without falling over, does that make any sense!?" Naruto tried to explain the drunken part of his moral, but it was pretty difficult to explain.

"I think I can kinda get what you're saying Naruto, but it seems a bit difficult to put in words, but I think what you're talking about is more of a "beer scale" type of thing, where on one scale, you have soberness, and on the other scale you have drunkenness, but I think you prefer the scale to lean more towards soberness, just so you can get the proper consent of the women you sleep with, right?" Hatred tried to explain more clearly to what Naruto was saying, while using his hand as a demonstration for what they were talking about, with Naruto thinking about it for a bit, but nods in agreement to that sort of explanation.

Even though Dean doesn't really believe him, he figured he'll leave it be for now.

As they were eating, Hatred offered Rusty some more coffee, though Hank tried to get some for himself, Rusty denied him, since he remembered the last time Hank had some Dark Chocolate and got hyper, though seeing an argument brewing, Hatred quickly reminded Hank that he was on kitchen duty, with him cleaning up breakfast, though Rusty teased his son slight with the coffee, though he did wonder where the blend came from.

Only for Naruto and Hatred to notice the noise of a military helicopter outside, only for a bunch of soldiers to smash through the window, with Dean casually leaving for his room, where soldiers gave Rusty a "jpad" with a colonel appearing on the screen, wanting to issus Rusty into recovering Venturestein after the creature went rogue.

"Hang on doc, let me talk to him in private for a moment." Naruto stated, while grabbing the jpad and taking it somewhere, while leaving his wrist comm so Rusty couldn't listen in on their conversation.

Though after a few more moments, Naruto had returned with the jpad, "There you go doc, the Colonel had agreed for the repair bills for both the window and phones, but to also pay for the next 6 months bills too, including taxes for this mission that you and Hatred are gonna take, as for me, I'll sit this one out and spend some time training, see ya when you get back." With that Naruto left after telling Rusty such a thing.

Though the group was confused how Naruto had got the man to agree to such things, all the got was, "It's classified" from the colonel, while Naruto had simply stated before he went on his trip that he promised not to say anything about it, which the group knew better than to try and get anything out of him, so they left it alone and went on their mission.

With Naruto leaving Dean alone, thinking the boy needed to cool down for a day or two, along with needing to be by himself until he was ready to talk.

With Naruto

Right now Naruto went to Triana's place, figuring she'd like to spend some time with him in one of the realms, where the two had decided to go around the areas to see the dragons, though after seeing one being chained up, both had agreed to go around freeing them, with Mimir giving them a background story for each dragon, it took them sometime to release the dragons, not to mention a lot of climbing, with Triana jumping on Naruto's back to helpher up the rocky terrain, though she did enjoy the thought of Naruto carrying her in such a way.

All the while Freya, in her hawk form, was watching the pair deal with the horde of monsters just to free the dragons, with Triana helping Naruto with either her bow and arrows, or her Draupnir Spear, which Naruto had decided to let her keep, since she was much faster with it than he was, he also figured that she'd need a weapon to defend herself besides the bow and arrows, though to tease him, Triana had placed the Draupnir Ring on her left ring finger.

Which after their first encounter and they got to settle down, Naruto had took notice of the ring as soon as he got the chance to relax in her house, being put on a bed to truly recover from his ordeal, along with Triana's mother making a joke about how she "approves" of Naruto, causing the young couple to blush at her meaning.

Anyway, after having dealt with the dragons, Freya had dropped a scroll off for them, asking them if they could free her Valkyries from the sealed form, mostly be destroying said forms, which the two had decided to do so.

Valkyrie Council

It took some time, as well as traveling to a few other realms, but they had managed to defeat each Valkyrie in their prisons, while each one was strong in their own right, Sigrun wasn't called the Queen of the Valkyries for nothing, though as it had turned out, Freya was the actual queen, where as Sigrun was simply "safeguarding" the seat and title until Freya had returned from finding someone strong enough to break the curse that Odin had put on them, which just so happens to be Naruto, with Triana's help.

While Mimir and Sigrun had a little heart-to-heart with one another, they soon departed from one another, showing that they both had feelings for each other, once Sigrun had left, Naruto had picked up all the items and the helm that the body had dropped, planning to give the helm to the dwarven brothers to see what they could do with it.

Though as they were leaving, "GAH!" Triana collapses to the ground, grunting and groaning in pain.

"Triana!? What's wrong!?" Naruto couldn't help but rush to his girlfriend, having no idea what to do at this time, all the while the Valkyrie spirits were gathered around, thanks to Naruto gathering the helms of each Valkyries after defeating them.

"GAHAAAAAA! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!" Triana screamed out, where a sudden strange force had pushed Naruto away, causing him to roll on the ground from his girlfriend, though thankfully stopping himself from rolling further with his axe by planting it in the ground.

Though when he looks up, what he saw next shocked him.

Triana's Home

The two had just finished meeting up with Freya, where she had helped the two understand what had happened and what had happened to Triana, along with helping her with what had happened, they were now at Tatyana's front door, with them knocking on the door so that Tatyana could answer it.

Though as soon as the woman opened the door, she wondered why her daughter had knocked in the first place.

"Hey mom, (WOOSH!) you wouldn't believe what happened to me on our trip through the realms." Triana had greeted her mother at first, only to surprise her due to wings springing from her back, with these wings resembling the other Valkyries before their defeat, with them only they had a mix of red and black look to them, while still becoming as soft as normal feathers, but considering Triana was still physical, it would be understandable why the wings had a slight sheen to them in the sunlight.

As for the mother and daughter, both began jumping around in excitement since it turned out Triana had passed her final test to become a Valkyrie, or at least a human equivalent of one, where once she passes on, whether during battle, old age or whatever, she'll be rewarded by putting her to her peak physical fitness and join her sisters in ushering the departed to the afterlife, while also visiting Naruto when he finally passes on as well.

It wasn't long before the Outrider had joined them for their celebration, though afterwards, the group had decided to move their celebration back to the compound to visit Triana's father, Orpheus, to tell and show him the good news about her "promotion" as well as her demonstrating her capacity for flight now, while using her Draupnir Spea during her flight, where once she had landed, she had explained that while she can use the Draupnir Spear easily during her flying, using her bow and arrows would be far too advance for her at this moment in time.

Though while she talked a fly kept buzzing around, which was starting to annoy her, until, "(WOOSH!" her wings popped out and sliced the fly in half, pretty much killing it, "Sorry everyone, that fly was really annoying me." She simply states.

Though Orpheus was slightly put off, "So your wings are weapons!?" He couldn't help but ask.

Causing Naruto to huff, "Trust me, the other Valkyries had used their own wings the same way as well, not for flies or something as silly, but I mean, come on, we are talking about the Norse Pantheon, so it would be understandable that the Valkyrie wings were just as protective as both sword and shield, because that's pretty much how they used them during our fights." Naruto simply explained, since it was pretty understandable.

Though Orpheus was obviously a bit worried about his daughter now having weapons on her back, but figures Freya would be able to teach his daughter how to use them properly, as for Dean, he was busy getting parts out and ready to rebuild Helper into its "natural" shape, since the robot didn't like being a giant robot walking eye, only just as Dean was about to work on the robot, it scurried away in order to save Rusty, though due to Rusty's location, it was gonna take the robot a while to reach him, so Dean had decided that he'll first set everything up for Helper, when he gets back, then went to play on some games that Naruto had got for him.

Since the couple were away for a few days for their trip, seeing how they both had to travel some distance to release both the dragons and the Valkyries, it would be understandable that they'd sometimes rest at the Dwarven home when they needed to rest and recharge, anyway, it wasn't long before Rusty, Hatred and Hank had returned with Triana hiding her wings, since she didn't want to be an experiment for Rusty, of course she knew Naruto would obviously protect her from him, but it always pays to make doubly sure that the guy doesn't know.

After Rusty and Hatred had explained what had happened during their trip to Venturestein, along with what had happened afterwards, with Hank stating how he became Batman after eating so many strange beans, where Naruto had took some from the boy, who wanted to "continue" being Batman by eating said beans, only for Naruto to give the beans that Hank hadn't ate a sniff, then a test-taste with his tongue, he quickly realised what Hank had been eating, "Hank, these are coffee beans, no wonder you couldn't sleep during those nights and how you kept getting the runs, everyone knows that coffee is a form of laxatives if you drink, or in your case eat, too much coffee you'll be emptying your bowels all over the place, which is why you pretty much "crashed" afterwards, since you were running on caffeine throughout the time." Naruto simply explained, all the while Hank was eating as much as he could, though Hatred made sure the boy didn't get indigestion problems due to what he ate.

Though Rusty had collected all the beans and decided to use them for his morning coffee, seeing how Hank had practically "smuggled" the beans in the country, may as well get rid of them the "refreshing" way for Rusty, while making sure no-one knows about them.

With that, Triana had returned to Tatyana's, though she plans to visit Freya to get more training for both her wings and combat training, with Naruto wishing her luck during her time with Freya.

Where as Naruto was in his room playing a game with the boys, while making sure that Hank was alright now, only for Rusty to call them about the congress woman, who accidentally got blown up, only for Rusty to put her back together again and brought her back to life.

Though it turned out after Dean had put Helper back to normal, Hank and Dermott didn't like it due to the robot no longer sounding right for their "band" anymore.
