First of all, I want to thank all of you for being patient for this chapter. I haven't updated this story since last July but here is the next part.

We'll get to see Charlie Brown and Sally have a conversation in this chapter.

Now, here are my responses to some of the reviews…

EpicElliott611: I'm not sure how many chapters I plan on making for this story. But I'll let everyone know when the end is near, which is still far away. And I'm very sorry that it's been 4 months.

Guest: We'll see what the other kids in Charlie's grade are wondering about the dilemma going on… probably.

Next Guest: Since the Peanuts franchise is mostly revolved around the kids, I wasn't planning on including Charlie Brown's parents or anyone else's. But you know, I may get an idea to include his mother and father. We'll see.

Henryumstead7 and next Guest: I'll try to continue this story with each chapter as soon as I can. Thank you for your patience.

Chapter 6: Because You're My Big Brother

Charlie Brown, who is hiding behind a bush near his house, takes a peek left and right to make sure the coast is clear. Then he makes a run for it to his front door and heads inside.

"Big brother."

Charlie locks the door and turns around to see his little sister, who looks a bit upset.

"Sally, is something wrong?"

"Charlie, our friends came to visit because they're worried about you, and now I'm worried about you, too."

Charlie Brown sighs, he has no choice but to tell Sally the situation. "Sally, remember the baseball game a couple of weeks ago?"

"Oh yeah, our team lost. Is that what's bringing you down? Just because of a game? I don't get it since we're used to losing." Sally says but starts to smile. "But you always know to keep your head up high and to not let anything like that bother you."

"It's not the game I'm upset about, Sally." Charlie Brown tells her as he makes his way to the kitchen. "I'll tell you about it after dinner. Right now, I'm starving."

"Okay, big brother." Sally sighs and follows Charlie.

XOXOXO

After eating another of their mom's delicious chicken dinners, Charlie and Sally head upstairs to the boy's room. He's not ready to explain everything to his parents. But since Sally is wondering, he decides to talk to her in private.

Closing the door, the siblings sit on the bed.

"Where were we?" Charlie Brown asks Sally.

"You said the baseball game isn't what's keeping you down." Sally replies.

"Oh, that's right." Charlie recalls. "Losing the game is not the reason why I'm feeling bad and avoiding everyone."

He takes a deep breath, wondering what Sally's reaction will be once he tells her the real reason. And he won't know if he doesn't tell her. But then he had a question relating to the subject.

"Sally, where were you when the baseball game ended?"

"Oh, I was asleep because the game bored me. I had a dream where I was watching TV up in the sky." Sally recalls, seeing her brother's weird reaction. "Then I woke up when it started raining. I ran back home because I didn't wanna get wet."

Charlie Brown knew Sally would sometimes rather watch TV than do some other stuff. But he didn't know she would be fast asleep at a baseball game. But now he knows that Sally didn't witness the whole fiasco with his friends as it was pouring from the sky.

"Well, Sally, I guess you didn't see what happened to me."

Sally raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean? What happened?"

"Sally, it's true that I keep losing on so many things, including baseball games. But I never let that stop me from trying and to continue pushing." Charlie says with determination. "I always do my best to make sure I make others and myself proud. Stopping and giving up is always an option for me but I choose to keep going forward. But after that last game…" Now he becomes depressed.

Sally becomes even more confused. "What, big brother?"

"When you ran away, the team really got angry and told me off!" Charlie Brown looks down, remembering those awful words from his ex-friends. "They complained to me for being the captain, never getting a win, and for not making a change!"

Sally gasps. "They said all that?"

"Yes… Lucy, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, Franklin, all of them! Even Linus!" Charlie almost sheds a tear after saying his best friend's name.

"Linus too?!" Sally couldn't believe it. "He may not be my sweet babboo as I used to call him before but now, he's not sweet for doing that!"

"And Heather…" The poor boy remembers that face she gave him, "She left me all alone without a word…"

Sally's reaction gets even more confused and upset. "Heather? Your penpal?"

"Some penpal." Charlie says sadly. "Since then, I've been ignoring everyone. Not bothering to say anything back."

Sally couldn't believe what she just heard. She does know and remember their friends bad-mouthing Charlie Brown before but the last few words from them really went too far. She wasn't going to stand for it. She gets up and…

"Huh?" Charlie reacts surprisingly. "Sally, what are you doing?"

Sally smiles, "What does it look like? I'm hugging you."

Indeed, Sally embraced Good Ol' Charlie Brown in a big hug, hoping to make him feel better after all he is going through.

But the young boy is confused by her sudden approach, "But why?"

"Charlie, I don't know what to do to make you feel better." Sally begins, "I'm not an expert on lifting people's spirits but I hope this helps for now. Those guys don't know what they're saying! I know you are better than they are." Sally hugs Charlie tighter, "Because you're my big brother. A big brother who is selfless, smart, and cares about others. You never stop trying on so many things and that's what's great about you."

Charlie Brown was on the verge of tears, he really needed to hear those words. And he's glad they're from his sister. "Thanks, Sally. I'm glad you're my little sister."

Sally lets go of her brother. "But you know, I don't agree with what you're doing either. Ignoring your friends when they wanna talk to you?"

Charlie frowns, "They're not my friends anymore. They never worry about me so why should they now?"

Sally sighs, "Big brother, I'm not going to force you to march to them and talk. Only you can decide when it's time to do that."

"Again, they're not my friends anymore. I'm done with their antics and always bringing me down."

"Listen," Sally begins, "I don't know how long this stuff is going to last. But I won't tell them why you're doing this. They have to know about it themselves."

"Well, thanks." Charlie felt a bit relieved that his sister won't mention anything to the gang. "I don't know if I'll speak to them but if I do, I don't want anything to do with them from here on out."

"If that's your choice, then I'll respect that." Sally says as she gets up to leave. "Goodnight, big brother."

Charlie Brown smiles at her. "Goodnight, little sister."

To be continued…

Well, wasn't that nice? It's great to know Sally is there for her older brother, especially after finding out about everything.

I will try to write more for this story and the future chapters will be updated as soon as possible. But the next part will feature Lucy, who hasn't been a part of this story for so long.

Thank you all again for your patience and the Peanuts gang will see you next time.
