Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man made it to Fisk's data center and managed to save the data from being erased, but not before being confronted by the Kingpin himself via video chat. After defeating another group of thugs, the three rushed out of the data center, heading to confront Kingpin himself. So, will they make it? Read on to discover...
(Our scene begins with Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man rushing out of the data center, only to see the ceiling above them explode. Seeing this, Spider-Man gets on the mobile system and alerts Yuri)
Spider-Man: Yuri, there was an explosion on the...
Yuri: I saw it. Looks like Fisk might have the whole place wired. Bomb unit's on the way.
Spider-Man: We'll make sure nobody stops them.
(As soon as Yuri hangs up, the trio is back to kicking tail against Kingpin's goons. And after a few minutes, the bomb squad enters to find the goons taken out, but just as they do, a smaller explosion rocks the room)
Spyro: Looks like Fisk's escape plan is more explosive than we expected.
(Just then, another explosion goes off, only this time, the sounds of civilians panicking can be heard)
Cynder: There's civilians in here?!
Spider-Man: And now Fisk's getaway has them trapped!
Bomb Squad Commander: You go after them, we'll look for the bombs.
Spyro: Gladly. Let's go!
(With that, the bomb squad starts their task, while our terrific trio flies up to the site of the explosion, and find the civilians Kingpin's explosion revealed)
Cynder: Everybody, get out of the building! Evacuate in a calm and orderly fashion, or as calm and orderly as one can get in a situation like this.
(As Cynder directs the evacuation, Spyro spots civilians trapped by rubble and lifts it off of them before ushering them back to Cynder. Spider-Man meanwhile has been moving back through the area and spots a hole, where two civilians are pinned beneath rubble)
Civilian: Spider-Man! Help! We're pinned down, we can't get out!
Spider-Man: I'll lift. When you're free, get out of here. If you can walk, help the injured. Got it?
(With a nod of understanding from the two civilians, Spider-Man uses his immense strength to lift the rubble off the two of them. But as he lifts, more rubble falls on top of what he's lifting. But Spider-Man pulls through and lifts the added weight, but is barely able to hold it up)
Spider-Man: (With urgency in his voice) Go! Go! Go!
(And as if on cue, something sneaks through the shadows and helps move the civilians out of the way before Spider-Man drops the rubble again, as Cynder reveals herself)
Spider-Man: Good timing.
Cynder: Nice deadlift.
(Now Spyro flies over the rubble and rejoins the group.)
Spyro: Fisk's office should be just above us. We're almost at him.
Spider-Man: Then let's not keep the host waiting.
(With that, the three sneak into an air vent as Yuri hops back on the comm lines)
Cynder: How's the situation, Captain?
Yuri: It's been better. We just had to ground the last chopper. They took a beating out there. If Fisk calls in a chopper we've got no way to stop it from landing.
Spyro: And he knows city regulations would stop Cynder and I from flying after him due to the downdraft from the blades. That must've been the plan all along.
Yuri: My thoughts exactly.
(At this point, the trio exits the vents, only to find the bomb squad under siege)
Spider-Man: Yuri, looks like we're going to need EMTs up here, there are officers down up here
Yuri: They're on the way.
(At this point, the trio enters the fray only to see a guy with a rocket launcher about to face them down)
Spyro and Cynder: INCOMING!
(Thankfully, the two dragons take the rocket out of the air while Spider-Man takes care of the person who launched it, just for two more of them to show up on the upper level)
Spider-Man: Come on! More rockets?! Isn't this a tad excessive?
(But just as soon as they come up, the trio of heroes has them down, and with everything wrapped up here, the group makes their way to right outside Kingpin's office, where they rendezvous with the bomb squad from earlier.)
Bomb Squad Commander: We were just about to call for backup.
Cynder: We're it then.
Bomb Squad Commander: Lead the way. We're right behind you.
(As the trio moves forward, one of the bomb squad officers says something into his radio, while another aims their gun at the heroes in front of them. But Spyro hears the click of the hammer and swings back around to hit them with a bolt of Electricity while Spider-Man, having gotten the warning from his Spider Sense, swings up and disarms the guy shooting at them while Cynder dodges bullets before they start fighting their once allies)
Spyro: And here I thought you were good cops, when you've been in bed with Fisk all along!
Spider-Man: (Shudders) Thanks, Spyro. That image is never leaving my head, much to my chagrin.
Cynder: This certainly explains why the building is still exploding!
(But this rogue bomb squad is no match for these three, and before you know it, they're down for the count and webbed up. And Spider-Man is calling Yuri again)
Spider-Man: Yuri, looks like a few of your guys were on Fisk's payroll.
Cynder: That's the bad news. Good news is they were the last line of defense.
Spyro: We're right outside Kingpin's office.
Yuri: Take him down. Now.
Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man: With pleasure.
(And as the trio enters Fisk's office, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to wrap up. Next time, our terrific trio takes on the Kingpin. How does the battle against the big boss go? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
