Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, MJ, Ember, and Flame decided to check out their lead at Grand Central Terminal, without informing Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder. Sure enough, there's an Oscorp tech expo going on, and one of the pieces is a microbe dispersal device. The trio knows this has to be what Mister Negative is after, and sure enough are immediately confronted by him as the Demons take over the Terminal. So, will the others arrive in time to stop whatever Mister Negative has planned? Read on to hopefully discover...
(Our scene resumes just as dramatically as it ended. The Demons have seized Grand Central Terminal, and more importantly the Gaia Microbe Dispersal Device, which is moved to a central position by Mister Negative, while the rest of the Demons corral the hostages. Once everybody is down on the ground, Mister Negative pulls out his cell phone and dials a number that we don't immediately see, which immediately picks up the call)
Norman's Assistant: Mayor Osborn's office.
Mister Negative: I would like to speak to Mayor Osborn.
Norman's Assistant: Who's calling?
Mister Negative: The man he's looking for.
(The assistant seems to get the point, and almost immediately, Norman Osborn is on the line)
Osborn: What do you want?
Mister Negative: You at Grand Central Terminal in 30 minutes. Alone, or there'll be more blood on your hands.
(With his message across, Mister Negative crushes his cell phone and takes out the Devil's Breath capsule, inserting it into the microbe dispersal device, priming it for activation. When Mister Negative walks away for a second, MJ pulls out her cell phone and sends an urgent text to Spider-Man. It reads in this fashion:)
"Party at GCT. Wear Your Best Suit."
(As MJ sends her message, Flame and Ember are seemingly sending ones of their own, though we don't see them. But soon enough, the lines are ringing, as Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder all answer simultaneously)
Spider-Man: MJ, we're on our way!
Spyro: Is anyone hurt?
MJ: No, we're fine. Just hurry...
Cynder: Wait, what are you three doing at Grand Central?
Flame: (Rushed, but quiet) We were following up a lead, but Li showed up before we had a chance to tell you about it!
Spyro: Are you three out of your minds?!
MJ: Look, it doesn't matter right now, Li's about to release the Devil's Breath.
Cynder: You've got to get out of there! All three of you!
Ember: He's not going to do it until Norman Osborn gets here.
Spider-Man: Wait, this must've been Li's plan the whole time! Make Norman responsible by having him release the Devil's Breath!
MJ: It makes some sort of sense. Twisted and psychotic sense, but I can see it.
Spider-Man: Okay, we're here. Heading into the Terminal now.
Spyro: Anything we need to look out for?
Ember: There's drones patrolling everywhere. Li's expecting you three.
Cynder: We're in the ventilation shafts, they won't see us. Is there a safe exit point?
Flame: Southwest corner.
(Soon enough, the vent in the southwest corner opens, and the trio slips out one by one)
Spider-Man: If we get any closer, the drones are going to spot us.
MJ: I think I've got eyes on the solution. There's a tablet just a few feet in front of me, That's got to be the controls for the drones.
Cynder: Think you can snag it?
MJ: If one of you three can cause a distraction, without getting shot.
Spyro: Can do.
Spider-Man: (Readies his web shooters) I can provide. Just give the signal.
(In that moment, everybody seems to be hesitating to strike. Nobody knows for sure what the plan of action here is, but as they figure it out, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for today. Another cliffhanger. In case you can't tell, I'm going to probably be taking this stealth section for all it's worth. So, the heroes are here, and while everyone appears hesitant to act, they know they can't hold off forever. Sooner or later, something's got to give. But will they be able to strike in time? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
