This is Part II of the Memorial Day Special. Last time, Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder finally had their showdown with Mister Negative. And after a bit of work and derailing a subway car that had it's brakes accidentally disabled in the conflict into the street above, long story there, the battle was done and Mister Negative was bested. But there's still more story to cover from there. What's next for our heroes going forward? Read on to start discovering...

(Our scene begins at the site where Mister Negative's train hit the surface, where the leader of the Demons himself is being taken into custody by Sable operatives, strapped to a backboard with markings for the Raft. As he is driven off, we also see Sable has posession of the Devil's Breath, loading it into a separate truck)

Sable Agent: Get that stuff to the lab. Let's move!

(And with that, everybody moves out, Mister Negative in one direction and the Devil's Breath in another while press cameras roll. Meanwhile, up on a nearby rooftop, Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder reflect on this moment, where Spider-Man is specifically trying to call MJ.)

MJ: (Via voicemail message) This is Mary Jane Watson, please leave a detailed message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Spider-Man: (Into the phone) Hey MJ, it's us. Let me know when you want to talk. All six of us.

(Spider-Man hangs up, but just as they do, a message springs back from MJ. It reads in this fashion:)

"Not ready to talk yet."

Spider-Man: And texting isn't talking?

(Meanwhile, Spyro and Cynder's phones are going off too, as Ember and Flame try to text them. The message reads in this fashion:)

"Hey, is Pete trying to get a hold of us?"

(Seeing the messages, the two dragons respond, and the conversation carries on as such, alternating between Spyro and Cynder:)

"More MJ than anyone. But what of you two? Are you ready to talk about this?"

"Honestly, not really."

"We all need some time to think."

"You know we're all ears when you are."

"We might call tomorrow. The three of us need to get some work done."

"We'll be waiting."

(Now we pick up with Spider-Man's conversation with MJ. The exchange goes in this fashion:)

"OK. It's over, btw."

"Over? Okay. Fine"

Spider-Man: (Realizing how he goofed up) I didn't mean that kind of over!

(Spider-Man now continues the conversation, trying to backtrack into a better spot. The exchange reads like this:)

"I meant Li."

"He's done for."

"Oh."

"Do you want it to be 'over'?"

Spider-Man: Please say no, please say no.

"No."

Spider-Man: Thank goodness.

"But maybe it should be."

Spider-Man: And there goes that.

"Need some time to think things over. Ember and Flame are of the same mind. They're telling Spyro and Cynder right now."

Spider-Man: What is there to figure out?

"Sure. Me too."

"I think we all had different ideas about this 'partner' thing."

Spider-Man: Understatement of the decade there, MJ.

"We need to get some work done. We'll call tomorrow. Maybe."

Spider-Man: (With a sigh of defeat) Great.

(At this point, Cynder sends a text to Spider-Man.)

"Smooth move, Parker."

Spider-Man: Wait, you guys saw all that?

Spyro: You and MJ were talking on the group chat.

Spider-Man: Of course we were.

(But before anyone else can say anything, Yuri calls in)

Yuri: You guys did it. Li's off to the Raft, and the Devil's Breath is safe with Sable.

Cynder: Maybe that'll get us back in Silver's good graces.

Yuri: Wouldn't count on it. So, how's it feel?

Spider-Man: How long have you got?

Yuri: Not much time. Heroics for you three means paperwork for me. I just wanted to say good job.

Spider-Man: Thanks, Yuri. I needed that.

(And just like that, the phone call ends)

Cynder: So, now what do we do?

Spider-Man: All this madness with Li, we've been ignoring the city. I think it's time I head back to being a friendly neighborhood Spidey.

Spyro: And Cynder and I have some work to do at the Embassy. Let's all catch up at Octavius Industries tomorrow and we'll talk this out.

Spider-Man: Sounds like a good idea.

(And with that, everybody slings off in their different directions, ending our tale for today)

This concludes Part II of the Memorial Day Special. For Part III, head on over to The Injustice Wars. Well, that text chain was awkward. Not the least because it's on their group chat. Yikes. But in case you haven't guessed, our story isn't over just because Mister Negative has been beaten. There's more to come. What exactly? To find out, you'll have to tune in next time. Same time... same channel!
