Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, Spider-Man, Spyro, and Cynder started handling the damage done to NYC. Street gangs taking over whole city blocks, Ryker's and Raft inmates everywhere, Sable just detaining people at random and using enhanced interrogation techniques, it's chaos. Thankfully at least, Aunt May is safe at F.E.A.S.T., though she wishes the uptown location was doing as well. Yuri called with a pair of situations in Midtown, and Spider-Man was about to rejoin them, but Spyro and Cynder sent him off to handle the Veteran's Center. The dragons meanwhile are handling a pair of deadly situations in Midtown: Spyro's heading to the Upper West Precinct to face Rhino while Cynder goes to the Upper East to deal with Electro. So, who's perspective do we rejoin first? Read on to discover...
(Our scene resumes on Midtown's Upper East side, with Cynder flying through the skies just as Spider-Man calls in)
Cynder: What's going on, Pete?
Spider-Man: May just called about the Veterans Center in Harlem. Ryker's inmates are storming the place looking for food and supplies, I'm on my way now.
Spyro: (Via the phone call) You sound off, Pete. What's wrong?
Spider-Man: It was May, she sounded exhausted. I really hope she isn't sick.
Cynder: So do all of us.
Spyro: (Via the phone call) We'll finish up in Midtown and then meet you in Harlem.
Spider-Man: Thank you, both of you. (Hangs up)
Cynder: (Dialling Yuri) Yuri, this is Cynder, I'm headed for the Upper East Precinct. What's the situation?
Yuri: Electro and the Demons are literally boxing my men in. The setup is... well it's complicated. You'll have to see it to believe it.
Cynder: Got it. (Hangs up) Always the mistress of suspense, aren't you Yuri?
(Before long, Cynder glides in to the Upper East Precinct and sees what's going on from a distance. Electro is using his electrical powers and what look like transformers, one of which is mounted to a helicopter to turn the entire Precinct into a giant electric fence, keeping everybody in there in and everybody outside out as Electro himself flies off.)
Cynder: So that's Max's game. Charge the building with transformers to keep everybody inside. (Calls Yuri back) I'd say complicated was an understatement, Yuri. First step, take out the transformers and free the officers.
Yuri: Even if you pull that off, they'll still need help with the Demons.
Cynder: That's why I'm here. Time to show them how I got the name "Terror of the Skies."
Yuri: I thought you hated that title.
Cynder: When dealing with the criminal underworld, I tend to use it. The intimidation factor still works.
(And with that, Cynder hangs up and sets to work. Her strategic mind assessing every angle of attack before ultimately settling on a good one. To start, Cynder leaps onto a nearby rooftop and takes out the Demons guarding the transformer, then she slings a glob of Poison at the transformer, the acidic liquid eating through the casing. Once the hole in the casing is sizeable, Cynder blasts a gust of wind into the transformer and the wave of air is somehow enough to rip the device apart.)
Cynder: Good, that actually worked. Now for the others.
(Seeing her plan of action is going to work, Cynder leaps from the building and repeats the process with the transformer on the ground, take out the Demons, dissolve the casing with Poison, blast it apart with a gust of Wind)
Cynder: That's two down, now for the one mounted to that helicopter. May need to change my strategy a bit.
(Seeing the helicopter makes a regular circular path around the building, likely to even out the charge, Cynder just waits until the chopper flies into range and then, adjusting her basic strategy, continuously pelts the transformer with globs of Poison, corroding the device to the point of uselessness, thus neutralizing the electric field trapping everybody inside the Precinct just as more Demons arrive)
Cynder: Now to handle the reinforcements.
(With that, Cynder rejoins the battle on the ground, swooping in and plucking Demons out of the crowd two at a time, hoping she can get them all taken out before Sable arrives to try and arrest her. And thankfully, she's able to do so, flying out of Sable's range just as they arrive)
Cynder: That takes care of that, now to rejoin Pete in Harlem.
(And as Cynder flies off towards the Veterans Center in Harlem, our tale ends for today.)
And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. And the situation at the Upper East Precinct is neutralized. How's Spyro doing at the Upper West Precinct though? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
