Welcome back to A Song of Spiders and Dragons. Last time, while on their way to Harlem to stop Rhino and Scorpion, Spyro, Cynder and Spider-Man got a call from MJ, reminiscing about an adventure they had with Harry Osborn on Staten Island many years ago. Well, more reminiscing for how much simpler things were back when they were kids, and how it feels like every time they turn their heads for a moment, the world almost ends. Spyro managed to ease everyone with words of wisdom from Sparx, the work they do now means the kids of today can have their own Staten Island adventures in some form of safety. Oddly wise from that wise-cracking dragonfly. But enough of that, there's two supervillains that need stopping. But will the trio arrive in time? Read on to discover...
(Our scene opens with Rhino charging through Sable troops at the Harlem relief center. He's got two of them by the head and is about to crush their skulls when suddenly a parked tanker truck goes flying into his back, as Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man arrive)
Spider-Man: Pick on someone your own size, Rhino!
Rhino: There is no one my size, pauk.
Spider-Man: Is it too late to talk it out?
(And it certainly is too late to talk this out, as Rhino charges at the trio, causing them to scatter)
Spyro: What's with the team-up, Alexei? Last I heard you were a loner.
Rhino: Means and ends, dragon. All of life is means and ends.
Cynder: So what's the end for these means?
Rhino: Freedom. True freedom. No more suit, no more "Rhino". Something I would think you understand, Cynder.
Cynder: Not sure I'd go to these extremes, but I get it.
(Seeing an opportunity, Spider-Man slings his webs onto a nearby load dangling from a crane, and when Rhino charges pulls it down onto his head, stunning the giant long enough for Spyro and Cynder to deliver some blows. But that's when Spyro spies something out of the corner of his eye as Scorpion leaps towards Spider-Man. But thankfully, Spyro turns around and hits him with a burst of Fire, throwing the villain off track)
Scorpion: Three against one really isn't fair, now is it?
Spyro: How is three against two better?
Scorpion: I've got the brains for two.
(So now while Rhino charges around trying to knock everybody into the floor, Scorpion is now flipping around the place shooting poison at people. Thankfully Cynder recognizes the pattern of his throws and dodges swiftly enough to get Scorpion in a choke hold)
Cynder: You throw poison like I do. How did you learn my skills?
Scorpion: Octavius knows a lot about you two...
Cynder: But not enough.
(With that, Cynder knocks Scorpion out while Rhino continues charging)
Spider-Man: Is it just me, or does he seem a lot more durable than usual!?
Spyro: I was just thinking the same thing.
Rhino: Get back here, so I can crush your skulls!
Spider-Man: Sorry about this, Alexei.
(With that, Spyro generates a massive Earth boulder and drops it straight on Rhino's head, allowing Spider-Man to deliver enough of a blow to knock him into Scorpion, who's regaining consciousness at this point, damaging both of their suits)
Scorpion: Get off of me, you moron! Do you have any idea what Octavius will do to us if he finds out you failed?!
Rhino: I failed?!
Scorpion: Yes, you, you walking freak show!
(This comment pisses Rhino right off as he punches the ground and then charges straight at Scorpion. Scorpion tries to flee, only for Spider-Man to pull a shipping container down and open into his path, preventing him from getting away as Rhino charges right into him, sending both into the shipping container which Cynder then closes and Spyro freezes shut with his Ice.)
Spider-Man: A little forced together time might just get you boys to play nice.
Spyro: (Hearing Scorpion scream as the shipping container moves around) Assuming Scorpion survives, that is.
Cynder: Rhino's a big guy, the limited oxygen supply should calm them both down before anybody dies.
(And as the trio watch while Rhino pummels Scorpion inside a shipping container, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to end for today. A little shorter, yes, but it got the point across. And speaking of points, Scorpion seems to have made one about Doctor Octopus and designing his team's new suits. Did he take inspiration from Spyro and Cynder? It would explain the familiar pattern of Scorpion's poison throwing and possibly why Rhino is more durable than usual. More on that later. But anyways, that's two thirds of the Sinister Six down. All that's left is Mister Negative and Doctor Octopus. Arguably the toughest duo on the list. So, what comes next? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
