AN: Not much to say. Enjoy. And yes Lucian is the name I gave Sir Aaron's Lucario.
Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon
Azrael didn't even need his Danger Sense to tell that the strange Lucario would attack Ash. Without even thinking about it, he dived right in front of Ash, where he got such a hard Force Palm that it sent him flying out of the platform and onto the other end of the stadium, where he was knocked out instantly. Ash screamed his partner's name before gazing in fear over at the raging Lucario, who was giving a look that could kill. Yet, as he looked further into the eyes, he saw that there was also sorrow and pain. The Lucario went to charge at him but was interrupted by the Royal Guard, who took action. One of them pulled Ash aside as the Royal Guard went to work, trying to subdue the rampaging Lucario.
Ash! Stand back. The one that Ash assumed was their leader spoke with Aura before joining his comrades. Ash took this moment to rush off the platform and towards Azrael, who was motionless but breathing. He was bleeding in the head and had a nasty burn on his chest from the Aura-powered punch. Ash couldn't help but realize that if he got hit like that, he would be worse off due to his human body.
("Azrael!") Skye shouted as she flew towards the knocked-out Absol and tried to wake him.
("Ash! Skye! Get Behind me!") Sorrin shouted as he flew down quickly and stood before the young ones.
He looked over where the battle of the Lucario was going on, and, to his and everyone's surprise, the one that came out of the staff was winning. No, winning was an understatement. He was dominating.
The strange Lucario wasn't just fast. He was a blaze. His Aura was shining like that of a star. And it was clear that, despite having the entire Royal Guard on him, he was more than a match for them, if not superior. The attacking Lucario had already knocked out three with a well-placed combination of Force Palm, Close Combat, and Extreme Speed.
As for Lucian, he had no idea why these Lucario and their masters were attacking him, but he didn't care. All that mattered was getting to Sir Aaron and making him pay for what he had done.
Three of the Royal Guard fired Aura Spheres , but Lucain summoned a Bone Staff before batting them away into the walls, where they exploded. The crowd was now getting the idea that this was not part of the tournament and was starting to flee as Aura Knights began to join the fight and do their duty. Lucian looked at all the Knights and Guards with fury in his eyes. Four of the Royal Guards charged at him, each with their own Force Palms ready to attack, but Lucian dodged them all by splitting his legs and letting each blow miss him easily above his head. He got back up and pushed two of their palms away before kicking a third in the stomach. Lucian then grabbed one and threw it into the other before drawing the fastest Metal Claw they had seen. He slammed them into two of the other Royal Guards before spinning and kicking them both in the face and knocking them off their feet.
An Aura Knight and his Lucario went to step forward, but with Extreme Speed, Lucian had streaked past them with his palms out and knocked them on their backs before jumping up, focusing Aura on his legs, and splitting in mid-air to land on their chests, knocking them out. He flipped back a few times before spin-kicking another Royal Guard with another Aura-powered kick that broke his jaw before summoning an Aura Sphere and shooting it at another nearby group. Five different Lucarios and their human partners attacked Lucian from the other direction with physical force. Some used Extreme Speed or were powered up by Work Up to engage in Close Combat. But without any fear or lack of concentration, he began to block them all with his limbs, even when attacked in multiple directions. Many watching this were in awe that a single Lucario could easily do this against some of the most powerful Lucarios in Rota.
But this was nothing for Lucian, who had lived in a time of war.
Lucian was then grabbed from behind by two Aura Knights, who used all their Aura to keep him locked in as the group he was fighting changed at him. His eyes glowed as he leaped back and kicked his feet forward, sending his Aura out and using it to unleash a modified Vacuum Wave that exploded in their faces and knocked them back hard. Roaring, Lucian then threw the humans off of him and fired two smaller Aura Spheres as they were falling, knocking them out as they fell down defeated while their partners went to check on them. Enraged that their humans were hurt, they charged forward at Lucian, who used Rock Smash on the ground, which caused large rubble to pop up. With quick movement, he used his Aura to power his punches and hit the rocks, which were sent blazing towards the Lucario, who used their Aura-powered punches to destroy them. But this was a distraction as Lucian had zipped right towards them and knocked them back with powerful Force Palms to the face, making them join their humans in sweet sleep.
The Royal Guards continued to try to attack him, but it was more of the same each time. They would strike, and Lucian would defeat them. They would strike again, and Lucian would defeat them. They used range and close-range abilities. Lucian would counter with his own and stronger versions each time. Everyone who watched was in disbelief that a single Lucario could do this.
Finally, they all decided to charge their Aura Spheres and fire at once towards Lucian. Seeing this, Lucian concentrated and focused an Aura Sphere around his palms before extending it. To the shock of all, a giant Aura Sphere surrounded Lucian like a shield that blocked all of the Aura Spheres as if they were water balloons against a steel wall.
("What was that?! He blocked all our Aura Spheres like they were nothing?!") One Lucario screamed in shock and terror.
That move... Leonidas gasped as he realized what this was. He had seen it in the ancient notes of past Royal Guard Captains. A move used by the Lucario of old as a shielding technique. One that had been lost in the ages since. How does he know that move?!
Summoning a Bone Staff, he twirled it around and charged forward. He smashed the staff into the faces of those seeking to stop him as they tried to catch him, but he was too quick; using the staff as a pole vault, he leaped over them and flipped into the air before unleashing an Aura Sphere down below, knocking others back or out. Landing on the platform, he turned to get ready to fight the next opponent, only to freeze upon seeing who was before him.
Q-Q-Q-Queen Rin?! Lucian gasped upon seeing his Queen before him.
"W-what did you call me?" Queen Ilene asked in shock. She knew of Queen Rin. She was her descendant during the time of Sir Aaron's life. Her eyes widened as she got a good look at this Lucario and realized who he was. She had seen him many times in paintings, books, and such since she was a child—the most famous Lucario in their history.
"Lucian..." Queen Ilene whispered in shock. "H-How..."
This was the distraction Leonidas needed to hit Lucian with an Aura Sphere that knocked him back. Leonidas rushed to the Queen and turned to two other Royal Guards. ("Get Her Majesty to safety! Now!")
They nodded and grabbed the stunned Queen as Leonidas stepped forward and prepared himself for battle. Lucian growled at him. ("I do not know who you are or why you were in that staff, but I will not let you hurt anyone! I swear as Captain of the Royal Guard of Rota!")
("You claim to be the Royal Guard, but you defend that traitor!") Lucian shouted as he glared at a scared Ash.
("Traitor?! That is a boy! A mere boy you attacked for no reason!) Leonidas shouted back.
("Lies! I will not hear of it! I will not let Sir. Aaron get away with what he's done!") Lucian shouted as he powered himself up with Work Up .
Leonidas was stunned. ("Sir A-AGH!")
Lucian had already appeared before Leonidas and smashed his fist into his face, but the Royal Guard leader wasn't one to get knocked out that easily. He dodged and blocked the subsequent two blows before engaging in Close Combat. Leonidas tried to attack with his palms, but Lucian blocked both of them before lightly punching Leonidas in the throat and pushing him back with a punch. Recovering quickly, Leonidas dodged a Force Palm to his face before focusing a combination of Extreme Speed and Aura into his legs. With a flash of footwork, he kicked Lucian a few times in the lower gut before one spinning kick in the upper chest and a roundhouse kick to the face that made Lucian spin a bit before he stood tall. He spat out some saliva and growled.
Leonidas prepared for Lucian's counterattack. The legendary Lucario charged forward, hitting harder this time. Leonidas could barely block the punches, but Lucian swept his legs, knocking him off his feet. Before he could fall, Lucian had risen and slammed his knee into his gut, causing him to moan in pain. Lucian wasn't done as he grabbed Leonidas by the ears and tail, spun around a few times, and threw him up. Leonidas tried to get his bearing straight, but Lucian fired a powerful Aura Sphere that knocked him back even further.
Lucian knew the Royal Guard would be okay, but he didn't care. All that mattered was Sir Aaron, who was right before him. He charged forward, his palms blazing with Aura as he approached his former master. The master who betrayed him and all of Rota. He tried to fight back the tears as Sir Aaron stared at him with fear as the Pidgeot stood ready to defend him.
However, something fast and hard slammed into Lucian and sent him flying into a wall, where he made a crater in the wall. He felt a burning sensation in his side and saw it seriously hurt. He looked up and saw a female Blaziken, leg extended and glaring at him with a cold glare. However, the eyes were different. They were not that of a Blaziken. They were an almost feline kind with light blue pupils that held power behind them. Ancient power.
("You okay, Ash?") The Blaziken asked Sir. Aaron as it lowered its leg. He recognized that voice. It was Mew.
"Y-Yeah," Ash whispered. "Why are you-"
("Can't let anyone see me in my true form. Don't worry, I can handle this,") The Blaziken aka Mew said as she stepped forward. Suddenly, a voice rang in Lucian's mind.
Lucian, stand down. You're not thinking straight, a voice telepathically said in his mind, but he couldn't tell where it was coming from. It was also so familiar, as if he knew this voice.
Get out of my head! Whoever you are! Lucian growled.
Lucian, I don't know what's going on, but you need to stand down! I won't let you hurt anyone else! The voice shouted.
SHUT UP! Lucian screamed in his head as his rage overtook him. He figured it was the Blaziken who was the cause of it, as she was the only one glaring at him, but he realized this was no mere Blaziken—another illusion, another deception.
Another lie.
Screaming, Lucian charged with a powerful Force Palm, but to Lucian's shock and the shock of those around him, it was easily caught by the Blaziken. The Blaziken didn't even move an inch from the force before bringing Lucian forward and gutting him in the stomach with a knee. Lucian felt his insides flip over from the blow and held both paws to his stomach in agony. The Blaziken then spun around and unleashed a Double Kick that slammed into Lucian's face, nearly twisting it. He was sent spinning to the ground a few feet before forcing himself back up with a kick-up. He fired an Aura Sphere at the Blaziken, who, in turn, fired a Fire Blast with both arms, which canceled the attacks together.
Lucian charged forward again with Extreme Speed to try and attack with his fists, but the Blaziken quickly blocked them, wrapped her arms around his, and brought him closer for a headbutt to the face. Not just once, but three times. Dazed, Lucian was soon vulnerable to a mighty Blaze Kick that saw him kicked up into the air. With both feet glowing with flames, the Blaziken jumped up and started kicking Lucian mid-air. Multiple Blaze Kicks were going so fast you'd think it was about to break the sound barrier. She kicked him again with more Blaze Kicks as he fell and finished her combo with a powerful blazing ax kick that sent him sailing downward into the ground, where he made a large crater.
Knowing that she had to end this, Blaziken summoned her power and began to get engulfed with fire. The flames were swirling around Blaziken like a cone of hellfire as all stood in shock at the intensity of the heat. Even parts of the stadium were now burning up from the fire. Shooting down from the sky, Blaziken unleashed Flare Blitz upon Lucian, and an explosion could be seen all over the town. Many did their best to hold onto the ground as the force of the blow was so strong that it shattered any of the glass windows in a two-mile radius.
Once the explosion died down and the smoke was clear, everyone could see the Blaziken standing over the bleeding, burned, and injured Lucian, who was struggling to move, but Blaziken's leg kept them in place. Having exhausted himself from his rage, the hard hits from earlier, and the weakness of his type played against him, Lucian was done.
("...Why...Why did you...he's a traitor...he betrayed us...betrayed me...") Lucian muttered as tears dripped down his eyes. ("...my master...my partner...my lover...)
("Lucian...") Blazike whispered as she knelt before him and shined her eyes. Lucian...It's me... Mew.
Lucians eyes widened. L-L-Lady Mew?
I am. Lucian that wasn't Sir Aaron. Aaron is...dead... Mew told him in his mind.
D-D-Dead?
He died a thousand years ago. This is the future, Mew whispered as she looked over at Ash. That's Ash, not Aaron. He's not your master...
Blinking, Lucian slowly lifted himself and looked at the scared boy, who was looking at him with fear and concern. He focused his Aura and scanned the boy, only to gasp upon feeling the Aura. It was so similar to Sir Aarons...but it was not him. It was not his master.
He had almost killed an innocent little boy.
What..have I... He finally could take more and blacked out.
You mean that actually is THE Lucian?! The Lucario of Sir Aaron?! Leonidas shouted while in the Throne Room. Among those equally shocked were Ash, both his Pokemon (Including a bitter but healed-up Azrael), his mother, Sorrin, Ranmaru, her children, Queen Ilene, Sir Puffy, Nanny Jenny, a few other Royal Guards, and Mew, who had confirmed that Lucian was, indeed, the one who attacked them.
Trust me, I'm just as surprised as the rest of you, Mew said with a heavy sigh. But it's him. Lucian is alive.
"How? Lucian was said to have died in the battle that also claimed Sir Aaron," Queen Ilene whispered while looking ready to collapse in shock. Nobody could blame her as one of the most famous Pokemon in history was revealed to be alive in the dungeons.
Lucian's body was never found. It was just assumed he died, Mew explained with a sigh. Besides, regardless of that failed belief, he should still be dead since it's been a thousand years since anyone last saw him.
"Is it possible that he survived in Sir Aaron's staff?" Ash asked while still holding the said staff in his hand. "I mean, he did come from it."
That's the best theory I can give, Mew said as she observed it by flying closer to the crystal. It's possible he was put in stasis until the staff sensed Sir Aaron's Aura and released him. You are wielding his gloves, so maybe that's what triggered it.
Is such a thing possible with Aura? Ranmaru asked with wide eyes.
Maybe? I don't know. Space stuff is Palkia's field. It flows over my head; Mew shrugged.
"Why did he attack Ash?" Delia asked as she kept her hands on her son's shoulders. She practically nearly dived out of the stands upon seeing her son almost hurt.
"He said something about...me being Sir Aaron? And calling him a traitor," Ash muttered while rubbing his head in confusion.
("But you're not Sir Aarron. You're Ash,") Skye pointed out.
Yes, but because Ash is related to Sir Aaron, it's not hard to see how Lucian could mistake him, Leonidas replied, which made everyone who understood turn to Ash in awe.
"A descendant of Sir Aaron?!"
("I thought he and Lucian were lovers...")
"Wow, he does look like him now that I think about it."
Ash couldn't help but blush from all the attention he was getting as his mother, Sorrin, Ranmaru, and Azrael crowded around him to protect him. Ash turned to Mew and asked, "Did you know this?"
Yeah, I figured it out when I sensed your Aura. It's very similar to Sir Aaron's, Mew answered with a sigh. I was going to tell you after the tournament. I felt it would be a distraction and didn't want to spread it around. Sir Aaron is practically a saint in Rota. You'd be worshiped just by being related to him.
Ash couldn't help but gulp at the idea. "In that case, thanks."
"But why is Lucian calling Sir Aaron a traitor? That makes no sense," Yukimura pointed out while frowning.
("Yeah, Sir Aaron is a hero! He's like Rota's biggest hero!") Nobuyuki stated.
That's what concerns me as well. I know that Sir Aaron died a hero. I was there in his final moments, Mew whispered while closing her eyes. But the fact that Sir Aaron did seal Lucian away is troubling. I can't understand why.
("What if there was a good reason?") Azrael asked while narrowing his eyes. ("What if Lucian is dangerous? We saw how powerful he was when he went on a rampage. What if something happened to him and Sir Aaron sealed him away for a reason.")
That made everyone even more nervous. They all could remember just how devastating Lucian had been to them easier. If there was more to this...
I know Lucian's introduction wasn't the best, but there is no Lucario more honor-bound, just, and noble than Lucian, Mew assured them all with a warm smile. He's a good Pokemon. I sensed that he was confused, angry, and scared. Now that he's calmed down, I'm sure he'll be able to tell us what is going on.'
"Regardless, I feel that we will not get answers just by sitting around," Queen Ilene said with a sigh. "Bring in Lucian. Some questions need to be answered."
"Yes, Queen Ilene," One of her guards saluted and left with a group of heavily armored Aura Knights.
"Let's hope we can get some answers out of this," Queen Ilene said as she sat down on her throne.
"...If it's okay with you, your Majesty, can I be here to see Lucian?" Ash asked, to everyone's surprise.
"But Ash, he attacked you," Delia said.
"Only because he was scared and angry," Ash said with firm determination. "I know that Sir Aaron is a hero. I grew up listening to him. I know Lucian has it wrong, and I want to help prove it to him."
Queen Ilene stared at Ash for a minute before smiling. "Very well. I see nothing wrong with it."
Ash nodded as he and everyone waited for Lucian.
When Lucario came to from his unconscious state, he knew where he was just from the overall dreaded feeling the place was given: The Palace Dungeons. He had been here before, interrogating criminals and threats to the Kingdom of Rota in the past. Despite apparently having returned from his prison after a thousand years in stasis, it was ironic that he was now in another one. Closing his eyes, Lucario focused on controlling his Aura and emotions. To his surprise, he couldn't summon his Aura. Looking down, he noticed weird mechanical cuffs covering his paws and wrists with strange blinking lights.
Are these preventing me from accessing my Aura? He thought curiously before looking around. From what he could see, he was the only one in a cell. The dungeons didn't look that different from what he remembered before his imprisonment. I see some things have not changed.
If there was one comfort to note, it was that Rota was still standing. Because Queen Rin's look-alike was still around, and he was in the Cameran Palace Dungeons, his worst fears for his home were unfounded. Rota was safe. How? Did we win the battle? If so, how did it happen?
He could remember it so vividly. It was a memory he had played when he was conscious in the crystal prison. The two armies came together in a fit of rage and hatred. The Aura around the entire kingdom was in a state of flux. Casualties were everywhere. It was feared that Rota was doomed. When the final battle was approaching, Lucario went to look for his Master...only he told him he wasn't going to the castle or the Princess. His master, his best friend, the one he even claimed as his mate, was a coward. Sir Aaron abandoned them all in their time of need, leaving Lucario trapped in his own staff.
Never before had Lucario felt such heartbreak and betrayal in his life. The moment he got out, he wanted to make Sir Aaron pay for it all.
And I almost murdered a child, Lucian realized in horror as shame enveloped him. He had always been in control of his emotions and knew the dangers of being blinded by anger. Lucian would have innocent blood on his hands if Lady Mew had not stopped him.
There was also the fact he clearly had wounded Aura Knights and nearly endangered the Royal Queen. As an Aura Knight, he felt he had dishonored the name for his behavior and would do what he could to make amends for his actions. However, he was bothered by one thing.
How could I defeat them so easily? Lucian thought with curiosity. Save for what appeared to be the Captain, he easily beat all the Lucario and Aura Knights he faced—had the standards of the Aura Knights fallen so low? Just what has changed in the last thousand years?
A thousand years. Everyone I know is gone...
Lucian slowly closed his eyes and sighed as he focused on his meditation. He had to keep his mind clear. He didn't even want to think what being trapped in a world where he should be dead was like. What changes had been there, or what strangers now existed? Yet, despite his best efforts, he couldn't help but shed a single tear down his face.
AN: Regarding the choice to make Lucian and Sir Aaron lovers...I mean have you seen the fan art of those two? Regarding his power level, Lucian grew up in a harsher time where war and violence were regular and death was a lot more common. Power wise he's about the same level as a Pokemon Champion's best Pokemon like Leon's Charizard, Cynthia's Garchomp, and Lance's Dragonite.
