Logan Donohue is on the mend but in no condition to go anywhere or to do much of anything, yet he still could be a threat, which is why Parker splits his focus between husband and axe-wielding wife, even though it's the latter on which Parker trains his gun.
But Knight? Knight inches forward and speaks only to Lt. Donohue. Her demeanor shifts, and Parker preps himself for her mode change right as her voice softens, just slightly.
Because, right then, Lt. Donohue's not listening to the words of the MCRT's Special Agent Knight. No, she's one on one with REACT Special Agent Knight.
Knight insists that the lieutenant would be throwing her life away for this scumbag if she gave in and murdered her scheming husband. Knight puts up placating hands and begins to creep forward a hair further—
Lt. Donohue's free hand dives into her coat, however.
And Parker, for a split second, all but forgets about Logan Donohue. All he can think is that Knight's weapon is lowered and the lieutenant might be about to give them a nasty surprise—
The lieutenant swiftly produces her cellphone, though, and plays back the incriminating recording of her husband admitting to everything. She half grins in the bright sunlight, Parker swears.
Only then, once she drops the axe and Knight steps in to cuff the husband do Parker's nerves settle. He holsters his gun, but he takes an extra second to get his breathing under control, letting Knight take the lead and having her arrange their suspect in the backseat and informing the lieutenant to meet them back at headquarters so they can wrap things up.
Then Knight comes back to Parker, to fetch him, and she gives him this curious little smile, as if checking in with him.
He meets her eyes but stares at that smile a little longer than necessary. Parker knows…he knows, that Knight's got the skills for these situations (hers is a trained calm he doesn't possess). And he? He both doesn't have her experience and—
—and he might've been a bit too concerned in this instance. Not for his wellbeing, but for Knight's.
(But that's because she was unarmed in that moment, he tells himself.) What he tells Knight is that he's good to go, and he doesn't know whether to be relieved or disappointed that she doesn't call him out on his jumpiness today.

83c Y'OKAY. So I feel as tho e18 had a lot of nice lil' tidbits…? (And did anyone else notice Kasie mentioning Knight having a FALCONRY class lined up? I LEGIT wrote that story last summer! 8D) Anywho, Parker did seem esp jumpy when the lieutenant might've been about to pull a gun, so my Parknight-shipping brain went here…but I decided pre-PK feels worked best bc why not?
