Shadow doesn't even know what to do now. Rouge is off somewhere and E-10000B has seemingly deactivated for the time being. So after he hears the Race called he goes to watch Sonic, out of Boredom he swears not because he wants to see Sonic. Well, he does want to see him lose. Absolutely, no other reason.

Meanwhile Rouge, after Sonic leaves his base. She goes in, to, chat with the other team. Only a reason to get data, she convinces herself. Rouge enters the room, finding Wave tinkers with something and Knuckles, who immediately gets into a defensive position after seeing Rouge. Wave turns and blushes when she sees Rouge.

"Relax Knuckles."

"Why should I, huh?"

"I'm not even here for you."

"Then what are you here for?"

"Her." Rouge points at Wave.

"Me?" Wave stammers out.

"Yeah you." Rouge says and goes over to Wave and tilts her head up. Wave blushes redder than Knuckles, who is currently staring at this display and wondering what is going on.

"Look, I don't know what your trying to do here, but leave" Knuckles says

"Really? But I just got here." Rouge turns to Knuckles and gives a smirk.

"Get out!" Knuckles pushes Rouge out of the room. Knuckles slams the door behind her and presses his body against the door. Rouge, huffs and walks away. Mad that her fun was ruined again by Knuckles.

"I got what I wanted anyways, getting those two flustered is so funny." Rouge laughs to herself and goes back to her team's base.

After that Team Dark goes against The Rogues. First, Shadow goes against Jet. The two meet in the middle. On the stage. Jet has a smug look while Shadow is neutral. Of course Jet has a taunt to make at the Hedgehog.

"Ready to lose, Shadow?"

"More like I'm ready to tear you into a million pieces and put you on the floor like a stain." Shadow aggressively says.

"You're as Edgy as people say"

"You're as Cocky as people say you are."

"Screw You"

The two gear up for the race.

"Hey" Jet says with a smug look in his face

"What is it you bird?"

"Look who's cheering me on" Jet points and Shadow looks to see Sonic cheering from the sidelines. Shadow scowles and looks away, Jet smiles. In all reality Sonic is just generally cheering not realizing that it looks like he's cheering for Jet because he is accidentally in the middle of a bunch of rogue fans.

Shadow filled with newfound rage (which is only a second wind against the bird and totally not because of Sonic) breezes past Jet at the start and flies by him. Apparently an angry Shadow is a more powerful Shadow, because with no issues, Shadow beats Jet. Almost running circles around him. But Shadow isn't that good, yet. Shadow gets off the track without saying a single word.

Next up is Rouge vs Tails. While Shadow beat Jet easily, Tails beats Rouge easily. Passing her and Rouge not able to catch up. It seems like she doesn't care anyways. Tails gets a lap ahead of her. Rouge goes at a leisurely pace while Shadow yells at her to pick up the pace, she ignores him though and keeps going the same pace for the entire race despite obviously losing. Securing an easy win for Tails. As well as an extremely disappointed and angry Shadow.

Up next is team Chaotix vs team Sonic. Sonic wins against Vector and Wave wins against Charmy and Espio. Team Dark has to go up against Tails. Shadow gets dunked by Tails first. A closer race than Tails and Rouge, Shadow gets a lot closer than before. He still loses, not by much and Tails still has to deal with E-10000B, who's a robot so Shadow is confident that they'll win this, as long as nothing else happens.

He shouldn't have been. E-10000B comes close, very close. But still ends up losing. For most of the race they're neck and neck. But Tails ends up getting ahead a lot, then permanently at the end. Winning the Race. Shadow is more than impressed. He's not even that mad about losing anymore. If anyone can beat her, they must be a great racer, as long as Tails won't fault at all.

Team Sonic defeats Big, then they go against Tails. Sonic loses, predictably. But then Wave and Tails go up. Shadow watches this one more carefully. To his surprise, Tails loses and Wave wins. But it was a close call. So Shadow watches the winner go up and take her prize. A door magically appears. Weirding Shadow out but he doesn't do anything.

"Well isn't that nice, now as promised, your reward!" Egg- I mean King Doc of Toreggmania says. The door in front of Wave opens, revealing… a hand that takes her and traps her and disappears into thin air. King Doc of Toreggmania pulls off his mask to reveal, who could've known, Eggman. Who laughs and laughs and laughs at all the contestants and the audience. Shadow is not amused, Rouge is somewhere else, and E-10000B has a poker face.

"Surprise! Now what are you going to do after I scanned all the bio data and took your best Racer? Who's going to stop me now?" Eggman taunts and everyone gasps, absolutely stunned. At least nobody actually knew about the bio data scans. Not even Shadow.

"Metal!" Eggman calls and E-10000B flies up and transforms back into Metal Sonic. Shadow looks at the robot, surprised but he guesses that's what they get for getting a random robot off of the street. He gives the robot an annoyed look but Metal doesn't care. Shadow knows that, but it stings a bit. Only a bit.

"Even if you were somehow able to see through my magnificent disguise, you wouldn't have seen this coming!" Eggman laughs as Metal flies into the air and follows the Doctor who flies away with him. Sealing the stadium once again. For everyone to face his new creation. Shadow readies up and prepares for battle.
