Several miles to the east of the Aaronsdale urban area, Princess Lena and Kane marched along the banks of the Salt River. The red headed woman periodically inspected a faded piece of parchment, adjusting their route as required. Patches of green vegetation on the riverbanks were beginning to yellow under the strength of the summer sun. Lena directed Kane through a very faded patch of undergrowth towards a looming red rock formation.
The cyborg General followed the Princess's instructions without question. Suddenly his footing slipped as some rocks gave way. He stumbled, nearly crashing into the Princess, "Careful," Lena said firmly yet not unkindly, "you've only just been repaired."
"My apologies Princess," Kane replied, "it won't happen again." Lena frowned but said nothing as she resumed her walk away from the riverbank. A few minutes later the narrow gap began to widen and the Princess stopped near a large boulder, "Have we arrived?" Kane asked.
"Possibly," Lena checked the parchment, "I have followed the map closely but these instructions are thousands of years old. There's no guarantee we're in the correct place."
"Permission to speak freely Princess," Kane asked and the red head nodded her agreement, "there is very little scientific evidence that what you seek is here. You are basing this visit on ancient texts written by superstitious humans."
Lena lowered the parchment to look directly at Kane, "Our recent encounter with those dimension hoppers and that suit of armour got me thinking, if their Earth contained hidden artefacts and powers, what if this Earth has similar power?"
"Forgiving my forwardness again Princess but we have searched many different Earth's thoroughly and yet to find anything similar," Kane stated.
"The power these demons are alleged to hold," Lena waived the parchment at Kane, "is worth a few hours of our time to check for ourselves." She approached the boulder and carefully ran her gloved hand over the surface, "The text mentions a sacrifice," she continued, "that usually means one thing."
She pulled her glove off and reached for the weapon attached to her hip, pulling the sharp blade free of its sheath, "You know a lot about these demons Princess," Kane commented blankly.
Lena quickly glanced at the cyborg, "One must have a hobby," without another word, she ran the sharp blade against her palm. Lena winced momentarily in pain as blood began to run from the cut. She placed her bloody palm against the boulder, closing her eyes in concentration.
After several moments the boulder began to vibrate and it collapsed into dust and pebbles to reveal a narrow passageway. Lena sheathed her sword and slowly entered the cave with Kane close behind.
The tunnel was initially unlit but as the Vyglass pair walked further inside, torches on the wall lit themselves. The passageway eventually opened into a wide circular chamber. There were three rudimentary doors carved into the stone, etched on every single surface were a mixture of letters and symbols, "Do these mean anything to you?" Kane asked the Princess.
"My skills with ancient Earth languages are a little rusty," Lena began, "but it talks about sacrifice again."
"More blood?" Kane asked, "or the proverbial pound of flesh?"
"Not this time," Lena frowned, "something more complex," she walked closer to the text and examined it closer, "it talks about love."
"How disturbing," Kane said, "a human sacrifice would be much easier to find."
"Make that two human sacrifices," Lena continued to read, "we need to find ourselves a loving couple." Beneath her mask an evil grin formed, "and I have exactly the couple in mind." She strode out the chamber with purpose, leaving a confused Kane to follow behind.
At the Air Base, Ricky stood inside a giant hangar with the Jet Force Megazord to one side and the Garuda Megazord on the other. Between them stood a large scaffold surrounding a giant humanoid shape. Workers scurried around the scaffolding assembling a metal skin around the frame of the main structure.
The yellow ranger was checking a series of designs on his tablet when Mark entered the hangar. He was carrying a large cardboard box in his arms, "Its coming along nicely," the red ranger commented, "any idea when it'll come online?"
"Construction is basically complete," Ricky replied, "it'll need its programming uploaded so its compatible with the other Megazords but Jazz doesn't think that'll take long." He let out a small chuckle, "Still can't believe it."
"That you designed a Megazord," Mark added, "I don't think any of us thought we'd be doing things like this a few months ago."
"Don't get me wrong, I didn't design the whole thing," Ricky began, "Major Earhardt looked over the plans and Cranston Technologies worked out the kinks."
"Don't sell yourself short, this is your baby," Mark reassured the yellow ranger, "the Jet Battlezord is your vision."
Ricky smiled shyly, "Shame I can't submit the designs to College, I'd get my Masters degree in no time."
"Somehow I don't think the Major would agree to that," Mark smiled, drawing a laugh from the yellow ranger, "I thought Stevie was helping today?" he asked.
"She was but I could tell her heart wasn't in it," Ricky sighed, "I think she went to the gym for a bit if you need her."
Mark shook his head, "No, just curious," he said, "actually her situation with AJ inspired me to have a clear out," he shook the box in his hand.
Out of curiosity Ricky looked inside, "Sumatran dictionary, hieroglyphics, Celtic for Dummies," he chuckled, "I didn't know you were into ancient languages?"
"These were Adrienne's," Mark replied softly, "she loved studying languages, could speak about a dozen fluently. That was part of the reason she was selected for Project Jet Force." He put the box down and pulled out another book, "This was her favourite," the red ranger handed the battered, leather bound book over to Ricky.
"Demons: Fact or Ancient Fiction," Ricky read the title, "not exactly bedtime reading."
"That's what I used to tell her," Mark sighed, "but demonology was something she loved. Personally I think she watched too many Supernatural episodes," he joked but the smile soon faded, "after fighting the Vyglass, maybe some of these stories were true."
"Coming from a time traveller, our lives do feel like a science fiction show these days," Ricky began, "maybe she was on to something."
Mark slowly picked up the box, "I guess we'll never know," he sighed, "its been several months since she died, I think it's finally time to clear out her things. I feel like a hypocrite advising Stevie how to move on from AJ when I haven't really moved on from Adrienne." He glanced down at the contents of the box, "I'm taking step one today."
Ricky gave Mark a small smile, "Do you mind if I keep this?" he waived the demonology book, "looks like an interesting read."
"Yeah, I think Adrienne would've liked that," Mark nodded, "after I've dropped this off I'm going for a run down by the river. Give me a call on my communicator if you need me," Ricky nodded and sighed sadly as Mark slowly left the hangar.
In the city, Rachel and Harley were sitting at a table outside a restaurant. The couple were shielded from the late morning sun by a large green umbrella. The restaurant wasn't too busy, only a few other customers were seated at other tables. The black ranger scanned the menu with a mixture of confusion and disgust, "Why does fancy food have to sound so disgusting," he grumbled, "what's wrong with a cheeseburger and a black coffee?"
"This was your idea," Rachel replied with a small smirk, "didn't you research this place before booking?"
"You made it sound good," Harley shrugged, "you're always saying I should broaden my horizons."
The white ranger laughed, "I did but take one step at a time," she pointed at something on the menu, "I'd recommend the gravlax."
Harley scowled over the top of his menu, "The hell is that?" he asked.
"Cured salmon with dill," Rachel said with a smile.
"Then why didn't they just put that," Harley slapped his menu against the table, drawing a loud laugh from the white ranger, "you're enjoying this aren't you?"
"Me, never," just then her cell phone rang, with a groan she pulled the device from her purse, "it's Martin, probably about the latest upload."
Harley grumbled and picked up his menu again, half listening to Rachel's conversation with her manager, "Another event," the white ranger grumbled, "Martin I can't keep taking time away I've told you this." Rachel frowned as her manager continued to speak, "I suppose I can't turn that down," after a few moments she looked directly at Harley, "just put me down for one space at this time."
Harley slowly slid his menu down and crossed his arms, glowering at the white ranger, "Martin I gotta go, I'm with someone," she quickly ended the call and placed her cell back into her purse, "I've been invited to a charity auction in a couple of days," she said to the black ranger, "its in Vegas, Martin was just giving me details."
"He asked if you wanted to bring a guest didn't he," Harley huffed, he quickly stood up and grabbed his jacket from the back of his chair, "hope you have a good time," he mumbled before walking away from the table.
"Harley don't be like this," Rachel scrambled up and quickly followed the black ranger, "I didn't think it would be your thing."
"Probably not but it would've been nice to be asked," he snapped, "that's the fourth event where you haven't invited me, I'm beginnin' to feel unwanted."
Rachel quickly grabbed the black ranger by the arm to stop him walking away, "That's not it," she spotted a small alley and pulled Harley into one side, "would you be happy to see your picture plastered all over the internet, honestly?"
"With my rugged good looks, hell yeah," Harley nodded, "but if you don't want to be pictured with me-"
"Stop that," Rachel snapped, "I'm not embarrassed to be seen with you," she huffed whilst running her hands through her blonde hair, "you told me you were wanted in seven different states. How many people do you think would come looking for you if they knew where you were?"
Harley looked at the white ranger for several moments before letting out a bark of laughter, "Did I say seven? I think it's only about two or three really."
"Harley, this is serious," Rachel said with hands on her hips.
"I appreciate the concern but I'm a big boy, I can take care of myself," Harley shrugged, "kinda sweet actually," he added with a roguish grin.
"You're insufferable," Rachel shook her head, Harley maintained his grin and opened his arms. The white ranger sighed and stepped into the black ranger's embrace, "I'm sorry, I should've told you."
"Ah no harm done," Harley shrugged, "did I miss anything good?"
"Not really," Rachel began, "a movie premiere for a terrible film an art exhibition and a night at the opera."
"Urgh, sounds like you did me a favour," Harley shook his head, "I'm sorry I ruined our lunch date."
"Forgiven, the food there wasn't as good as I made it out to be," Rachel looked up to the black ranger and smiled, "I've got a craving for cheeseburgers now you mention it."
"I know just the place," Harley leaned forward to kiss the white ranger, "they do waffle fries and the best mozzarella sticks."
"What a gentleman," Rachel grinned whilst trying and failing to imitate Harley's Southern accent.
"Do that again and you're payin'," the black ranger grumbled. He slipped an arm around the white ranger's shoulder whilst she slipped an arm around his waist, "So Vegas, I've never been," he added casually.
"I'll bring you on the condition that you stay away from the casino's," Rachel warned, "something tells me you know how to count cards."
"Me, never," Harley chuckled as the pair left the alley and stepped back onto the main street. To his surprise, it was now practically empty, "Hey, where did everyone go?"
"They had to run," a familiar voice called, seconds later Princess Lena stepped out a doorway brandishing her sword, "something about my presence unnerves them."
"I wonder why," Rachel replied whilst slipping into a defence stance, "what do you want Lena?"
"No banter or foreplay?" Lena raised an eyebrow and looked at Harley, "I can see why she likes you," she added with a chuckle.
"In your dreams Lady," Harley grumbled, his morpher at the ready.
"Nightmares more like," Lena casually looked at her blade, "I need something from you," she pointed the blade towards the two rangers, "we can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"I think you know the answer Lena," Rachel snapped.
The Vyglass Princess sighed loudly and dramatically, "Sadly I do," seconds later there was a crackle of electricity from behind the two rangers. Their bodies jerked and they fell in a heap onto the sidewalk twitching violently, "Why haven't we thought about tasing them before?" Lena asked Kane who was now standing behind the fallen Rangers.
"It is not very sporting," Kane replied blankly, "although it was very satisfying."
"Careful Kane, you nearly experienced your first emotion," Lena looked down at the two rangers, "scoop them up and bring them to the cave," she instructed the Cyborg, "quickly before their Ranger friends notice they've gone." Kane did as instructed as Lena opened a portal, the pair stepped through moments later taking Rachel and Harley with them.
A little while later, Stevie entered the control room to find Ricky, Jazz and Major Earhardt working at individual computer terminals, "Hey, did I miss anything?" the blue ranger asked the group.
"Not much," Major Earhardt replied, "the Jet Battlezord is nearly ready, we're just working on the finishing touches now."
"Awesome," Stevie smiled and nudged Ricky on the shoulder, "see, I knew you could do it."
"Let's not celebrate yet," the yellow ranger said cautiously, "there's still plenty that could go wrong."
"Such a spoilsport," Stevie pouted and looked around the room, "speaking of spoilsports, where's bossman?" she asked.
"Went out for a bit," Ricky answered, "Rachel and Harley aren't back either yet." He quickly double checked the time on his watch, "Funny, they were only going for lunch, I thought they'd be back by now."
"Probably got sidetracked," the blue ranger smirked, "if you know what I mean," she added with a wiggle of her eyebrows.
"Before we all lose our lunch," Jazz interjected, "the computer's picking up something down by the river."
"That's where Mark went," Ricky stood up and glanced over Jazz's shoulder, "its not another interdimensional portal is it?" He watched Stevie stiffen slightly, "Sorry, I didn't mean-"
"You can say her name, I'm not that emotionally crippled" Stevie shook her head, "but seriously, is it another portal?"
The Scot frowned, "I don't think so, never seen anything like it before." She tapped in a few commands on her keyboard, "You said Mark went that way, let's see where he is." She brought up a map of the affected area as a small red blip appeared onscreen, "He's close, maybe a couple of miles away."
"Send him to investigate," Taylor ordered, "better get Rachel and Harley back here just in case."
Jazz nodded but after a few seconds, a frown appeared on her face, "Strange, their communicators are out of range."
"That's not possible," Taylor also moved over to Jazz's workstation, "they should be able to reach anywhere on the planet." She paused in thought for a moment before adding, "Try tracking their position." Jazz did as commanded but once again, the computer didn't find a trace of the black and white rangers, "This can't be a coincidence," she mused.
"What do you want us to do Major?" Ricky asked.
"Stay here for now, Mark can handle recon by himself" Taylor answered, "with Rachel and Harley missing, you two need to be ready. If the Vyglass attack, you two are our only hope," the blue and yellow looked at each nervously.
Harley groaned as he slowly regain consciousness, his eyes struggling to adjust to the poorly lit room, "My head," he mumbled. Once he fully regained his senses, he noticed his arms were raised high above his head. He tried to pull them down only to feel resistance around his wrists, "Kinky," he noticed the ropes tying his arms together, "not the first time I've woken up like this," he added with a shrug,
He looked around, directly in front of him were a few lit fire torches illuminating a rocky wall with something carved into the surface. He managed to turn his head and noticed Rachel tied up beside him, "Hey Rach," he tried to swing towards the white ranger, "come on, wake up."
"Five more minutes," the blonde grumbled as her eyes began to flutter open.
"This ain't no time for sleepin' sweetheart," Harley whispered, "someone's hog tied us and I don't want to be here when they get back."
Rachel struggled against her bonds but they were too tight to wiggle free, "Whoever took us doesn't want us to go anywhere." The white ranger admitted defeat with a huff, "Last thing I remember was being in the city," she recalled, "then Lena arrived and then it all went black."
A clicking of heels echoed off the stone walls, the two Rangers tensed as Lena stepped out the shadows flanked by Kane, "Speak of the devil and they shall appear," Harley hissed, "if you wanted to tie me up, all you had to do was ask," he attempted to joke.
"Please, I have standards," Lena sneered and looked directly at Rachel, "offence most definitely intended," she added with false sweetness.
"Whatever you're planning it won't work," Rachel began defiantly, "the others will know we've gone missing and will find us."
Lena chuckled, "Ah but that's the beauty of this cave, the ambient magic interferes with communication signals. The other rangers have absolutely no idea where you are,"
"You're bluffin'," Harley pulled sharply on the ropes, only to be stopped by a sharp pain from his wrists.
"I'm afraid not," Lena strutted slowly towards the black ranger, "you two are my sacrificial lambs I can't have anyone interfering with my plan."
"The hell you blabberin' on about," Harley snapped.
Lena sighed, "I won't explain everything, I doubt your hillbilly brain could comprehend my genius anyway," she said condescendingly, "behind these portals are three powerful demons and I'm going to use you two to bring them back to life."
"That's sick," Rachel gasped, "you're going to kill us to bring three demons into this world."
"Kill you?" Lena laughed, "good Lord no, I'm not a savage." She moved towards the white ranger, putting a finger under her chin to force Rachel to meet her eyes, "I need something more complex than mere blood," she continued, "I need the power of love,"
"And you chose us?" Harley frowned, "I mean we've been on a few dates and had a bit of fun but I don't think at the love stage yet."
Rachel glared at the black ranger before turning back to Lena, "Actually I changed my mind, if you want to kill him go ahead."
"Hey I'm just bein' honest sweetheart," Harley said defensively, "can you honestly say you love me?"
Rachel opened her mouth before closing it again, she repeated this gesture a couple of times, "Well," she said slowly, "maybe, I dunno its only been a few weeks."
"Enough," Lena interrupted the bickering couple, "this isn't a cheesy sitcom," she added with a shake of her head, "you might not be ready to admit it but I can see the bond between you. It will be more than sufficient to revive the demons."
With another shake of her head, she sat cross legged in front of the stone door. The Princess opened a book and began to chant in a language the Rangers didn't recognize. The portals began to glow ominously, "Never thought this is how I'd go," Harley sighed, "the tied up bit maybe but the demon bit, definitely not."
"Harley if this is the end," Rachel grunted with pain as a stream of light began to snake towards a door, "can I just say, these last few weeks have been the best of my life."
A stream of light burst from Harley chest towards another door, "Course they were," he replied with a grin, "but bein' serious," he looked Rachel directly in the eyes, "I can't remember the last time I was this happy."
"Silence," Kane ordered the Rangers, "the Princess needs to concentrate,"
"Sorry," Harley sneered, "I wouldn't want to interrupt that bitch from sucking the life outta me." Kane thrust his sword towards the black ranger but stopped short of inflicting injury. Harley had another biting comment on the tip of his tongue but he suddenly began to feel weak. With one last look towards Rachel, he slowly lapsed back into unconsciousness.
Not too far away, Mark had abandoned his run and was searching the riverbank of any sign of Rachel and Harley. With his communicator open, he walked slowly amongst a patch of dying vegetation, "Anything Jazz?"
"Negative I'm afraid," came the Scot's reply, "you're right on top of the energy according to the scanner."
Mark sighed and was about to walk away when he spotted something leading away from the river. He crouched down to inspect a little closer, "Footprints," he muttered. He followed them with his eyes until he spotted a narrow passage between some rocks.
He walked forwards carefully, following the footprints carefully, "Think I found something Jazz," she said quietly into his communicator. To his surprise he didn't get a response, "Jazz?" he asked, only getting a burst of static back. The red ranger frowned and slowly walked back the way he came. The static gradually went away until the signal was clear, "Can you read me now Jazz?"
"Mark what happened?" Jazz asked, "we lost you for a minute."
"I've found footprints but I think something's interfering with the signal," the red ranger answered.
There was a pause until Major Earhardt voice came over the communication channel, "Wait there Mark, I'll send Ricky and Stevie to you."
"Negative Major," Mark answered, "I can't endanger the entire team," he paused for a moment before continuing, "give me ten minutes, I'll leave my communicator here so you can find my approximate location if needed."
"I don't like this," the Major said hesitantly, "but I trust your judgement, no heroics though Mark."
"Wouldn't dream of it," Mark replied before disconnecting his communicator. He loosened it from his wrist and tied it around a branch before returning to the narrow path. Eventually he spotted an opening with flickering lights inside.
Cautiously he walked inside, he could hear a female voice chanting something. The pathway ended and the red ranger took a quick look around the corner. Immediately he noticed an unconscious Rachel and Harley tied up against one wall with Kane guarding them closely. Sitting on the ground was Princess Lena, her voice gradually chanting louder coinciding with the increased brightness from the wall opposite.
Suddenly there was a flash and Lena fell backwards panting heavily, immediately Kane rushed to her aid, "I'm alright," she panted. Her eyes widened at the sight of a scaly, green beast standing before her. The demon had a malicious grin plastered over his fish like face, revealing several rows of sharp teeth, "Am I in the presence of Mujin?" she asked, gatekeeper of the legendary Kurgan brothers?"
"I am," Mujin answered, sounding vaguely bored, "and who might you be?" he asked with distain.
"I am Princess Lena of the Vyglass," Lena answered with a bow, "I have summoned you to help us destroy this pathetic planet."
"We help no one but ourselves," Mujin roared, "especially a pitiful mechanical being." Kane moved towards the Princess but suddenly found himself trapped in a bubble of light, "Be gone, abomination," with a flash, Kane was teleported away.
Lena's eyes widened and she began to shuffle backwards away from Mujin, "Please, if I have done something to offend you," she said hesitantly.
"Let's start with your pathetic sacrifices," Mujin hissed, "there is a bond of love there but it is still forming," he inspected the unconscious Rangers, "it was barely enough to awaken me." He stalked a little closer to the Princess, "There is something about you," he muttered, "you wear this skin like a mask, your true self is hidden."
Mark frowned as the demon stalked towards the Princess, a small part of him wanted to let Mujin deal with Lena and save his team the trouble. There was a voice in the back of his head though, something telling him that wouldn't be right. With a sigh, he summoned his sword and stepped further into the room, "That's far enough," he called sternly.
"What are you doing here?" Lena asked with a snarl.
"Saving your life, against my better judgement," Mark replied, walking calmly towards the demon.
Mujin chuckled, "Now this is a better sacrifice," he began, "a strong bond of love in this one but with who?" His eyes flicked around the room and his devilish smile grew wider, "Well, isn't this interesting," he rumbled slowly, "a love lost but closer than you think."
"What are you going on about," Mark frowned, "my fiancée is dead, her people are responsible for it," he added with a point at Lena.
"If you say so," Mujin began, "I'll make you a deal human, take the place of your two friends," he pointed at Rachel and Harley, "this offer won't last for long."
"Deals with demons never end well," Lena chimed in, almost warning the red ranger.
Mark thought about it for a moment, "I don't really have any choice," he sighed, "send them somewhere safe and I'll give you whatever you want."
"Splendid," Mujin grinned broadly, with a wave of his arm Harley and Rachel disappeared from the chambers, "now then, onto your end of the bargain."
"How do I know they're safe?" Mark asked, readying his sword.
"You don't," Mujin cackled.
"I thought you'd say that," Mark shook his head and without warning, threw his sword in a wide arc towards the demon. It sliced across its chest before spinning back towards him, knocking Mujin into the chamber wall.
Lena barked with laughter, "A double cross?" she chuckled, "and I thought you were the honourable Ranger."
"There's nothing I wouldn't do to protect my friends," Mark said sternly, "you should know that by now."
The Princess merely twitched an eyebrow in response but the moment was interrupted by Mujin stirring from the attack, "It sickens me to say it but I think we need to take him together."
Reluctantly Mark nodded, "I believe you're correct," he pushed a button on his morpher and transformed without saying a word, "Do you need any extra firepower?" he asked the Princess.
Lena grabbed her weapon from her hip, quickly turning it from sword mode into a whip. With a crack she wrapped it around the demon and pulled it towards them with a jerk. Mark cut through the demon with his blade, showering them with sparks, "I'll take that as a no," the red ranger smiled beneath his helmet.
"Foolish humans," Mujin boomed, "I'll drain you both dry," two tentacles snapped towards the pair, Mark rolled out the way of one but the other struck Lena across the face, knocking her mask loose. As she staggered across the floor, the tentacle wrapped around her body. Her pained cried bounced off the walls, slowly fading with each passing second.
Mark was about to attack but suddenly caught sight of the unmasked Lena for the first time. He froze in shock, he'd seen her face before, "Adrienne," he gasped. His momentary pause allowed Mujin to wrap his other tentacle around Mark's body. Sparks exploded off his suit and he grunted loudly in pain.
"Now this is a bond," Mujin cackled loudly, "even if you didn't realise it still existed."
Mark looked over and saw the familiar face of his fiancée, wrapped in the clothes of a deadly enemy the Rangers had fought for months. The life was fading from her eyes, a pleading look on her face. He wasn't sure if this was a Vyglass trick or even how this was possible. He clenched his fist, even if it was a trick he wasn't going to watch Adrienne die again.
His Jet Gauntlet appeared on his arm and summoning the last of his strength, he activated Electro mode and jammed the end into the tentacle wrapped around his body. The effect was immediate as Mujin let go with a cry of pain. Mark barely had a moment to regain his strength before charging towards the body wearing Adrienne's face. He slashed his Jet Sword through the other tentacle which released its grip.
Lena's weapon rolled free of her unconscious grasp and rolled towards Mark. He picked it up and it immediately changed into a sword. With an angry cry he jumped towards the demon, slashing it first with his blade then with Lena's. With a gurgle of pain, Mujin slumped against the portal and didn't move.
Mark breathed heavily and demorphed, he looked at Lena's weapon and slowly walked towards her fallen body. He pushed some of her red hair away from her face, there were a couple of fades scars on her cheek, a result of her fight with Major Earhardt weeks ago. He checked the side of her neck, noticing a couple of moles, "Exactly like Adrienne's," he sighed. Needing answers, he scooped up the Vyglass Princess and carried her away from the chamber.
Several minutes passed before Mujin began to stir, it groaned in pain and grasped its side, "Bested by a human," he spat a green substance on the floor, "never mind, I drained enough from them." He hissed before crying, "Kurgen's, I give you the last of my lifeforce, come forth."
A bright flash of light emanated from the portals as Mujin slowly disintegrated into dust. Two armoured figures emerged from the blinding light as two distinct laughs bounced off the stony wall.
A/N - Anyone who's watched Jetman or knows the basic synopsis probably saw the "Lena is actually Adrienne" reveal coming. I dropped a few hints along the way to try and at least make it feel like a surprise.
