Dino nearly drops his ice coffee when he turns around and sees Hibari sitting on the couch, nose tilted slightly downward, a thin trickle of blood running from one nostril. For a second, his heart stops.
"Kyoya!" Dino is at his side in an instant, grabbing his face like Hibari is about to collapse. "What happened? Did someone hit you? Are you hurt?" His voice pitches into panic, his eyes darting wildly like he's scanning for an invisible enemy.
Hibari scowls, shoving Dino's hands away. "It's just the heat."
Dino blinks. "The… heat?"
Hibari leans back against the couch, pinching his nose with a tissue as if Dino isn't on the verge of calling an ambulance.
"You're bleeding!" Dino gestures wildly. "That's not normal, Kyoya! You don't just—" He stops, taking a deep breath. "Wait. You're sure it's just from the heat? Not—like—an internal injury? Blood loss? Do you feel dizzy? Weak? Oh my god, did you eat today?"
Hibari clicks his tongue. "I'll bite you to death if you don't shut up."
Dino still looks like he's about to burst into tears. "You are losing blood, though," he mutters, distressed. He grabs Hibari's wrist, checking his pulse like a dramatic doctor in a soap opera. "Maybe I should take you to the hospital, just in case—"
"Haneuma, if you don't sit down, I will send you to the hospital."
Dino finally stops, eyes still filled with worry. He watches Hibari dab at his nose with quiet intensity, as if expecting him to keel over any second.
"...Can I at least get you a cold drink?"
Hibari exhales. "Fine."
Dino vanishes into the kitchen in record time. A minute later, he returns, pressing a glass of cold water into Hibari's hand, along with an ice pack that he insists on gently placing against Hibari's forehead.
Hibari sighs. It's going to be a long summer.
