The Worst Day of the Year
Chapter 1: October 30th
* RING RING *
A sound blared out from the various bells that were scattered throughout the building's hallways. It signaled out that the school day had officially come to an end. Resulting in the once quite halls to be filled with the noise of footsteps as students rushed out of their classrooms and into the halls, most of them racing each other to get to their lockers, retrieve their stuff, and get out of the building as quickly as possible. It was Friday, the last school day of the week, and the weekend has officially started.
In the crowd was a pink hatted boy, that unlike the rest of his classmates and peers, was in no hurry to leave the building. The date was October 30th and next to May 13 it was one of the most miserable days for him out of the entire year. His parents would be leaving for the entire day and overnight (and unlike all the other times they left, they made no point in making up an excuse) leaving him alone with Vicky for the next 24 hours.
He continued to walk down the hallway, pushing past the groups of kids that decided it was a good idea to have their conversations in the middle of the hallway. He had finally reached his locker. "23-3-15" he repeated in his mind as he spun the dial on the locker's combination lock. He pulled down on the lock and with a satisfying click it was unlocked. Removing the lock he pulled on the door and opened it, revealing a rather messy inside.
"Dude, you really got to clean that thing out"
Timmy looked to his right and smirked as he watched his best friend AJ walk over to him with a disappointed look on his face.
"Yeah, I'm running out of places to put my F's" Timmy replied, looking down at the papers with huge red Fs that had floated down to the floor when he first opened the locker door.
"Yeah, it's like you're saving them as if they were a trophy or something" another voice said from behind him.
"Very funny Chester, I'm just too lazy to do something with them is all" Timmy exclaimed not even bothering to turn around to face his other friend.
"Yeah, I bet. Anyway, what's your guy's plan for the weekend?" Chester asked, leaning against the locker next to Timmy's.
"Dude, do you not know what today is?" Timmy asked, raising an eyebrow to his friend.
"Well, it's Friday, I know that. As far as the date goes, you got me!" Chester responded shrugging his shoulders.
Timmy looked over at AJ who now had a concerned look on his face.
As they walked out of the school's front doors, they caught glimpse of a white Honda Civic speeding around the corner, barely missing the crossing guard by mere inches. Upon reaching the front of the school, the car stopped abruptly, and the window started to roll down revealing the driver. Red hair, green shirt, and a very pissed off expression. It was the very thing they all feared, Vicky!
"Get in the damn car Twerpette! Our stupid parents made me come get you so chop chop, I want to go back to bed!" Vicky screamed from her car, while also slamming her hands on the steering wheel.
Seeing her at this very moment, and hearing the anger in her voice made Timmy audibly gulp. She seemed so much more angrier then the previous years. What is about the 30th that makes her this way?
"Woah, dude, not cool! Usually Vicky is mean, but never this mean!" Chester shrieked out.
Timmy turned his head to the left and watched as Tootie pushed herself off the step she siting on and begin to walk towards the car. She looked very frightened and began to speed up her walk into a jog, fearing Vicky's wrath if she took much longer.
Timmy picked up his pace and sprinted over to Tootie with a very important question on his mind that couldn't wait until later. He had to know why Vicky was like this on this specific day.
"Tootie, I need to ask you a question,"
"Not now Timmy, if I take too much longer Vicky might actually kill me" Tootie said, fear evident in her voice.
"It won't take long, I just need to know why Vicky is so much worse on the 30th than any other day?"
Timmy's question had caused Tootie to slow down somewhat as she pondered what he had asked.
"I don't know, it's something I can't figure out myself!"
With that Tootie rushed forward and grabbed the handle of the passenger side door. She quickly opened the door, got in, and then shut it.
"Could have been faster Twerpette" Vicky said narrowing her eyes at Tootie, who was looking straight ahead, trying to avoid making eye contact with her older sister.
"Sorry Vicky, it won't happen again, I promise!"
"Yeah, it better not, or there will be hell to pay!" Vicky replied, shifting the gear into drive.
As Timmy stared at her, he could tell that she had just rolled out of bed before driving over here. Her hair was messy and her clothes were somewhat wrinkled. She had clearly woken up on the wrong side of the bed.
"I'll see you later today Twerp," Vicky said with venom in her voice, not even bothering to look over at him.
She then rolled up the window, and sped off, again barely missing a student crossing the road on a crosswalk.
As he watched the car disappear behind a building, a frown formed on his face. Man he was in for it tonight. Who knows what kind of stuff she was going to do to him, and unlike Crocker on May 13, Vicky didn't have limits and wasn't afraid to put someone in the hospital.
He took a deep breath and then started to walk home.
"Dude, wait up!" He heard Chester yell out from behind him.
He turned around and sure enough, Chester and AJ were speeding down the sidewalk towards him.
"Dude, what was that all about? What did you say to Tootie?" Chester asked, trying his best to catch his breath.
Timmy turned around and kept walking, while AJ and Chester took their places at Timmy's left and right side.
"I was trying to figure out why Vicky is so mean on this day of the year, and figured Tootie would know why, turns out she has no clue. I mean, you guys heard the way she spoke to Tootie, there's got to be a reason, and to what that reason could be, I have no idea..."
"Maybe she had a pet die that she was really close to and it hits her the hardest specifically on this day?" AJ pondered, bring his index and thumb to his chin.
Well he knew that Vicky when she was eight, she did indeed have a pet. It was turtle that at some point had died, and her mother told Vicky that it had ran away. Perhaps it was the turtle's death that was the catalyst for Vicky's anger?
"Hm, that could be a possibility AJ!"
"Come on guys, it's Icky Vicky we're talking about here! It could be anything!" Chester exclaimed, throwing his arms up into the air.
Man, that was the realist thing he had heard all year. He had a point, it really could be anything. Perhaps something simple like she farted in bed and the fumes had made their way up to her nose, or it could be something deeper like the death of a pet or loved one. Who's to say?
"What am I going to do guys? She'll probably try to kill me tonight!"
"Well, Timmy, the best advice I can give you is to just listen to her and do what she asks without question. Do anything you can to keep her anger in check. If she tries to attack you, go up to your room and lock the door. If it's really bad, exit through the window and go to the neighbors house for help"
"Thanks AJ," Timmy replied sincerely.
"So glad I'm not you dude!" Chester said pointing at Timmy.
As they continued to walk home they quickly changed the subject. The Crimson Chin was a hot topic as the latest comic had just been released and featured a brand new villain named the Silver Elbow, who turned out to be a real problem for the Crimson Chin.
Pretty soon they reached Ajs house, who after saying goodbye disappeared into his house. It wasn't that much longer until they reached Chester's trailer.
"Good luck tonight dude!" Chester said as he reached the door to his trailer.
"Thanks man, catch you later!"
With that, Timmy kept walking down the sidewalk, towards his house. Without anyone to distract his mind, he began to think about Vicky again.
He had finally reached his house, and just like he expected, his parents were already gone. He gulped as he noticed the white Honda Civic parked in his driveway.
Well, so much for Vicky going back to her house to take a nap, unless she was doing it on his couch. If that was the case, he better be extra careful not to wake her.
He walked up to the door, and nervously reached out for the handle. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before releasing it. He had no idea how the rest of the day was going to go, but he knew it wasn't going to be good. With a shaky hand, he turned the nob and pushed open the door… fearing the absolute worst.
A/N: So why is Vicky so angry? Well, the reason is... * spoiler * (ha, you're going to have to read the upcoming chapters to find out!)
A/N: Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this chapter. I really appreciate it!
