Wanning lifts his arm to grab a book. It's similar to what he wants to research. So happy that Shisheng peak library always is up to date. And large for them not being in the higher cultivation world.

Mo Ran, before leaving had given him letters that were send to him when he had died and during his seclusion as thanks for the Knight Guardians. He understands that they were good for what they were. They helped civilians with the bare essentials but it wouldn't hurt to upgrade them.

Without proper training the most dangerous ghosts, demons and creatures will not be easy to defeat but as long as the knight guardian can help them buy time to receive proper help then that's a goal he'll try to reach for. It's been five years, he's sure there's been achievements in mechanics and talisman crafting.

Wanning eyebrow twitches at another pain in his belly. He lets out a breath. What's going on with his body this time? Wanning shakes his head. It's just a stomach ache, he'll deal with it, it'll go away on it's own. What time is it? Maybe he missed a meal. He's known to do that often. As long as he meditates he'll be fine. But no matter how strong he is, everyone needs to eat. They don't get energy from nothing.

Wanning quickly makes his way back to the Red Lotus pavilion. As much as he wants to be better at interacting with others he would rather read in peace. Ever since getting released from Tanlang Wanning can't help but feel people are looking at him weird. Not in a bad way but it's a different way. Now everywhere he goes people look and are whispering. They do stop whenever one of his disciples is near. It does help that he sticks to the Red Lotus Pavilion.

Sadly those three went on a mission together. Apparently this is the first time they've all gone together, not even as a duo. It's understandable Mo Ran and Xue Meng not going together ever, but Mo Ran and Shi Mei? Surely they would have. Mo Ran must have volunteered to accompany Shi Mei at least once in these five years.

Though, he's glad they are so dependable. Taking on missions, all three of them. Wanning heart burst with pride.

He drops his books at his work desk. Ready to read without anyone whispering behind his back or stares.

Wanning groans as he leans forward. There goes another ache. Wanning grits his teeth as he opens the first book. Again he chooses to ignore it. He shakes his head. He's got reading to do.

But no matter how much he tries he can't ignore the pain. And it got worse. At first it is similar to pins stabbing him, annoying but manageable, then it gets worse and harder to ignore. From pins to full on stabbing. As if someone is stabbing his gut with a knife and twisting it more in. And it doesn't stop.

As a last resort he decides to meditate but as he gets up he notices something, it feels... wet. His lower half isn't dry. And it doesn't feel like the regular discharge madam Wang has told him most women produce naturally. He's experienced a couple times discharge leaving his lower half, it's uncomfortable the first few times it happen but he's learn to ignore it. Like all, if not most, women do according to madam Wang.

No this isn't the same. He moves over to sit and meditate. He feels for his meridians. He finds them circulating naturally. He's not sick or poisoned, those two are easy ruled out. He's also not having a qi deviation of any sort. His body is working normally so is it in his head?

Wanning moves forward whimpering, tears pricking the edge of his eyes. Wanning has gone through pain, he's been whipped, stabbed, felt a barrier backlash and died but after all that it's nothing compared to this.

Again Wanning feels something come out. Deciding to check he starts stripping. Though it's a slow process as every time he moves, every twist sends a wave of pain through his stomach. It makes him whimper and whine. Once he gets the outer robes off he takes his middle garments off, which are his pants not carrying to take off his shirt and dudou. Leaving those on for now.

He takes his look and his face pales. Blood. And a lot of it. It's no wonder it didn't stain his outer layer. Lucky he didn't stay at the library to read. Another wave of pain hits him. He curls in on himself, whimpering some more.

Now it's time for his last, last resort: getting help. He thought about calling for Tanlang, this could be something to do with the pills the man made him take but with him looking like this, and not wanting to go through the painful process of redressing (no way is he going to put those now bloody pants back on) he decides to call for madam Wang. Wanning watches with tear filled eyes the haitang flower fly away.

As he waits he moves around looking for something to lay on so he doesn't bloody the floor. He grabs the blanket from his bed not caring about throwing his tools, the small parts and his blueprints around. He doesn't care about much at the moment. He does wrap himself a bit in the blanket, then curl into a ball on the floor.

Waiting for madam Wang as sharp hit after sharp hit of pain erupting from his stomach made it so Wanning has no true reference for time. He wait (for what feels like) hours. Days. It is close to say he's being tortured. Retribution for being brought back from the dead. He went against the laws of nature and now he's being punished. But it's not his fault. He didn't asks to be resurrected.

Wanning curls more as he lets out a sob, as much as he was biting his lip to try to hold it in he can't anymore. He's breaking. How long will it last? How long will this go on for?

"Wanning!" He distantly hears his name being shouted. He blinks open his eyes, seeing through the blurriness, seeing a slim figure. His tears fall clearing his sight. It's madam Wang.

"M-madam W-Wa-Wang." he sobs without much control anymore. She looks down at him worried.

"What's wrong? What's hurting?" she asks reaching forward to grab a hand. It must be bad for Wanning to cry openly about it, which worries her. She knows more than anyone how much Wanning has a pain tolerance.

"Pa-pain," Wanning whines, "b-bloo-blood," his face scrunches. He screws his eyes shut as he lets out a groan.

"Where are you bleeding?" She asks, unwrapping Wanning, and he lets her. Not coherent enough to stop her. "Mmm." She hums out at the sight of the blood. She reaches forward to pull cloth to see what's bloody. She finds blood on Wanning pants.

"Nngh!" Wanning groans out curling into himself.

"Wanning..." madam Wang calls his name sympathetically. He looks at her from under tear wet lashes. She gives him a sympathetic smile. "You might be on your period." She says. Silence follows. Long enough that Chuqing decides to try again. "It's time for your monthly affairs."

"Huh?"
