Sorry for taking so long! I won't abandon this story. I just get stuck with writing until ideas come to my head.

"So, how was dinner with your family yesterday?" Stacie asked as she was sitting in front of Aubrey's desk toying with some little figurines Aubrey has on her desk. A few of the figurines were a little swan figurine and the others were music notes decorations. Aubrey also has a few small photo frames of her family and friends.

"It was nice but it could've been better," Aubrey said as she was looking through some papers.

"Oh yeah? How?" Stacie asked sensing some sort of teasing from Aubrey.

"If someone would've stayed with me last night when I offered." Aubrey looked at Stacie with a smile.

"You know I would have Bree but Beca asked if could help her with some files last night. She said she would owe me if I help her and I couldn't resist having her owe me"

"Did you go to her or did she go to your apartment?"

"Don't be so jealous," Stacie said setting down the little swan figurine and looking at Aubrey with a smirk. "It was neither, we just Facetimed"

"I'm not jealous at all. Just curious..."

"I know," Stacie said with a playful smile.

"So did Beca go home with Leslie that night?"

"Asking for some gossip Bree? Of your employee"

"Relax, I was just wondering," Aubrey said as she turned her face to type on her computer. After a few minutes, she noticed that Stacie was staring at her with her head resting on her arm.

"Why are you staring?" Aubrey asked without taking her eyes off her computer.

"You are just so beautiful…"

Aubrey looked down at Stacie "Stop it. You know anyone can walk in and overhear"

"I know it's just when I like something I'm not afraid to say it."

Aubrey smiled at Stacie but then suddenly remembered that Stacie never answered her question.

"So what happened with Beca that night?"

"Oh yeah, I stayed talking with Beca after Jesse also left. Beca said she didn't want to go home with Leslie but they did do something in the restroom…I actually set her up on a blind date since she owes me now. But-"

Stacie was interrupted by a light knock on the door.

Chloe couldn't help but overhear the last part of what Aubrey's assistant was telling Aubrey. Who's Leslie? Beca on a blind date? Chloe wondered.

"Bree… you busy?" Chloe slowly opened the door lightly knocking.

"Nope you can come in," Aubrey said looking up at the door. Chloe slowly walked in with some coffee in her hand.

"Morning Ms. Beale. I'll just go to my office to leave you guys alone." Stacie said standing up and heading toward her office but not before making eye contact with Aubrey.

"What's up Chlo," Aubrey asked as Stacie left and Chloe went to go sit where Stacie was sitting.

"Nothing just wanted to come see you before I go to my office…what was happening here?" Chloe was asking since there was some sort of tension in here.

"What do you mean? Nothing I was just talking to Stacie. Nothing important" Aubrey said as she started to fidget but thankfully Chloe wasn't paying attention to her fingers.

"You sure?"

"Yup."

"Okay, so let's focus on the new artist EP…"

When Chloe finished talking to Aubrey, she went toward her office but before she went there, she decided to step into Beca's office to ask for the files. Since Beca's office has glass walls she could see inside Beca's office but half of the shades were open so Chloe could see inside but Beca didn't see her just yet. Especially since it seemed that Beca had a visitor, they were tightly hugging each other until they separated, and the tall brunette went to go sit in front of Beca's desk. Chloe managed to overhear their conversation.

"You didn't know I was coming huh…"

"No, not even when we talked last night-" Beca said but was interrupted by Chloe coming into her office. Chloe didn't want to be caught overhearing especially since she is the boss around here and literally her employees needs to focus on their work. So, since she figures this was the blind date Stacie was talking about, she walked into Beca's office.

"-Morning sorry are you new here? Do you need something? Chloe asked with an over-exaggerated friendly voice that obviously seems fake.

"Oh Hi! I'm Beca's- " Emily started to introduce herself but then she was interrupted by Chloe.

"Doesn't matter. We got work to do so Beca if you can speed up your little visitor."

"Yeah of course. Oh, here I have the files." Beca grabbed the files from her desk drawer and gave them to Chloe.

"Thanks. And please get back to work." Chloe didn't know why this was bothering her since she knew she didn't feel anything for Beca. Or does she? Either way, she couldn't do anything about it since Beca was her employee and she practically already rejected Beca when she admitted her feelings..

"Is that your boss?"

"Yeah…she's usually not like that," Beca said watching Chloe go to her office.

"Maybe something happened. But anyways I should leave before she burns more holes into me" Emily said.

"Okay… you know where the apartment is and the code but here is the key for the apartment. I'll probably be there by three or four, but Jesse might be there earlier." Beca explained to her sister and she was handing her the apartment keys.

"Okay I'll see you there." As Emily was leaving Beca couldn't help but want to ask her boss if something was wrong. So she walked toward her boss's office and lightly knocked. "Come in" She heard Chloe say.

"Sorry, Ms. Beale but I couldn't help but wonder if your okay?"

"What do you mean? I'm okay I just need you to do your work."

"Yeah, I got that. But I mean like," Beca leaned on the door frame that is connecting their offices "Is there something wrong between us or something?"

"No Beca I just need you to focus on your work, not on your new girlfriend," Chloe said as she just glanced at Beca and turned back to her computer.

"Why does it seem like it bothers you so much that I have someone visiting me girlfriend or not?"

"It doesn't so just…just go back to work please," Chloe said not so convincing.

"Alright," Before Beca turned back to her office she asked once more. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes…"

Beca walked back into her office and knew she had to let it go. So, she went back to work until a few minutes later when she received an email that was probably sent to every employee about the label party in two days. She really did not want to go but surely Stacie will persuade her to go either way she went back to work. After a few hours of working, she was about to pack up and go home but Ms. Beale walked into her office and sat down in front of her.

"Look, I'm sorry I was being rude, and I didn't mean it. It's just my mood seems to be a bit weird with the most random things."

"It's okay. I get it." Beca said with no interest at all.

"Can you tell your girlfriend I am sorry I was being rude. You can literally bring anyone you want…within reason obviously." Chloe smiled.

"Noted. But really, it's okay. Apology accepted." Beca said after hearing that Chloe was being sincere.

"Cool" Chloe said as she and Beca continued to look into each other's eyes both remembering a few nights ago when those very eyes were so close to each other.

"Umm so if you don't mind me asking. What was bothering you and if it's something maybe I could help you with."

Chloe was about to admit that it was bothering her the way she was all of a sudden feeling and doesn't want Beca's girlfriend to come again but knew she couldn't do that. "Um, nothing really. It's all good."

"Okay…"

"So are you going to the department party?"

"Um I wasn't planning to, but Stacie texted me literally minutes after the email invite was sent that I am definitely going with her."

Chloe lightly laughed. "She seems like the persistent type"

"She really is." Beca smiled. "So how bout you, Ms. Beale?"

"You could call me Chloe and what about me?" Chloe said with an adorable confused face.

"Are you going to the department party?"

"Umm, I kind of forced to go as well. Since I'm the director of the department"

"Oh right! I forgot"

"Yeah. So, I'll see you there?"

"Sure"

"Goodnight," Chloe said as she got up and walked away.

"Night"

The night of the party…

"Hey," Chloe greeted Beca who was just sipping on her champagne glass at the mini bar that the label set up for the party.

"Hey. How's it going for the director?" Beca carefully teased her boss who sat down next to her.

"It could be better"

"Same. Stacie left me so I might just head out since I didn't want to come anyway"

"You sure? Why didn't you invite your girlfriend? Could've made it more fun for you." Chloe said even though she got some weird feeling in her stomach.

"She's not my girlfriend," Beca said looking at those bright blue eyes that glow in this very dim room.

"Oh"

"She's my little sister. Even though she is a bit taller than me"

"OH. I'm sorry I just thought that…"

"Thought what? That I move on quickly? I don't. But believe me, I am trying to get over you if it's my feelings that make you uncomfortable so much so that you were rude to my sister." Beca said plainly.

"It doesn't. Sorry, I may have made it seem like that. It's just I don't know…"

Beca looked at Chloe and noticed her boss looked like she was distressed and contemplating something. After a few seconds, Beca wanted to say something but Chloe beat her to it.

"I'm just surprised I guess."

"About what?"

"How you have feelings for me if you don't know nothing about me. Like we barely spoke to each ever since you started to work here"

"Trust me I was too. But..." Beca looked at Chloe not knowing if she should admit this to her "Let me order you a drink if I'm gonna share this"

"Sure I'll just have a virgin margarita"

"Virgin?" After hearing her drink choice Beca began to think that maybe she is pregnant but then remembered the bottle she had opened a few nights before. But maybe she just wanted to drink but then didn't since it was barely broken into.

"Yup just watching my intake, especially since it's an office party"

"Oh okay I'll order that for you"

After receiving the drinks Beca was getting nervous that she had to admit this to her boss. But then she told herself that maybe this was a good step for her to get over her. "Is this going to make you want to fire me since its weird that you are my boss?"

"No Beca. Let's forget that we work together and that we aren't at the office. I mean...I know we are at the label but professionalism aside lets get to know each other...deal?"

"Y-yeah"

"Okay...so"

"Yeah sorry um...Honestly, I first saw you on Instagram and your eyes were just so beautiful and you are really gorgeous. I was looking at labels online that were hiring since I left the label I was in and I came across that Beale Records was hiring assistants. So I looked up the label on Instagram to get a little insight on what's going on. Then I saw you on a post with you in a picture with your dad," Beca noticed that Chloe was really paying attention to her story and couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed since when she was talking she was fighting with her drink. "I kind of thought I wouldn't get the job but I knew I had to try. And I honestly didn't know I was going to be working for you since I didn't know your position just yet. I literally just applied since I needed a job. I was just applying. And interviewing. I'm not a stalker or anything if you're thinking that," Beca rambled.

"I wasn't"

"Cool okay...so yeah I got the job and I know I don't know you at all but I like the type of person you portray at the office and I just know and have a feeling you are an even better person outside of the office."

"How can you be so sure I am a good person?"

"I don't...but I just have a feeling and I know it must be a stupid crush or something so I'm sorry if it makes you uncomfortable or anything" Beca said looking at Chloe.

"Stop apologizing Becs. I get it. For real"

Beca honestly got butterflies after hearing the nickname coming out of Chloe's mouth. She chose not to address it.

"Okay...so can I get you another drink?" Beca offered after seeing that Chloe was almost done with hers

"Um yeah sure"

As the party started to die down, Beca and Chloe continued to talk through the night. Beca noticed that even though Chloe comes out as a strict and serious person she is actually really bubbly considering that Chloe hasn't drunk alcohol since she sat down with her. Beca learned that Chloe is aware of the rumors going on but chooses to ignore them since confronting them does nothing, Chloe loves to run, watch movies, and loves animals so much so that if weren't for her love of music she would have been a veterinarian.

Chloe also learned a few things about her assistant. One thing for sure is that Beca comes out as a person that is reclusive and kind of loner but after knowing her a bit more she is still that. But now she knows that Beca goes outside of her comfort zone when it comes to building her career. She learned that Beca wants to go into the production side of the department and after learning that part Chloe set a reminder for herself to ask for her music so could take a listen.

"I think I should head home since Emily must be waiting for me"

"Oh, your sister?"

"Yup. She's leaving tomorrow night" Beca said putting on her blazer after taking it off earlier in the night.

"Okay, I think I'm gonna head home too" Chloe got up from the chair.

Beca was surprised when Chloe gave her a hug. "I'll see you tomorrow Becs"

"Y-yeah see you tomorrow"

"Goodnight," Chloe said leaving.
