Chapter two: a time to recover and start slowly moving on
Yes I'm rewriting this chapter one more time because the first version didn't have everything that I had intended to write in it. This will the final re-writing of chapter two! I will be working on chapter three and posting it in the coming days most of it is written so stay tune and keep checking my profile page. I usually write there to inform you all what's going on and other tit bits! Thank you all for reading my story and please be kind and review. Your input helps and on with the story.
Ok this chapter starts two months after Optimus had a meeting with the bots. This chapter covers a little more about the mood of the bots and their meeting with the six new officers that came to this base now under the command of Col. Lennox. Also, Optimus had tasked two months ago for Prowl, Wheeljack and Sgt. Stout to write a modified version of their classified software that they having been using to detects the frequencies of Cybertronians. That frequency is like the human DNA it can't be altered. If is approved by General Moreshower and our Allies accept this offering of trustworthiness then they can use that program and be notified by it directly if any Cybertronians come into this solar system.
Here are my characters so far are and they are: Dr. Deirth Galine, Sgt. Charles Stout who is the leading communications specialist and has been here on this base three years and two and a half years ago he had helped Wheeljack create the software that they have been using at the base to monitor Decepticon active around the world and locating them. Then under the disguise of a military exercises they under Col. Lennox command mount up and flew to the location and eradicate those Decepticons. Joyce who was Sam's mom, Rev. Leon Goodberg base Chaplin. The new soldiers that have been newly assigned to this base are, Staff Sgt. Larry Bose, he now will be in charge of reports coming and going from this base and will be the first contacted by the Pentagon and he reports everything directly to Col. Lennox. Hudson Dawn, he is a co- pilot who flies F14's daily, David Reaves, aviation technician, Brain Gotan, flight commander, first class Nathan shoeman, flight navigator. Gary Wright, he is in charge of supplies ordered and received coming into this base. Staylie, daughter of Chromia and Ironhide and Rammer son of Elita and Optimus. This will be a long chapter because I want all of this into it. I want the bots and the soldiers to met. I will continue the date line through out the story. Okay here we go and please don't forget at the end please leave a review. Helpful advice or you like it is always welcomed. I admit I like details and that's my main fault.
August 24, 2008 Sunday
Five months have now passed since the war end on March 23, 2008 A typical day for Lennox and his team is the continuation of recon missions in a flight path of 200 square miles patrol of the island. Some of the bots have been spending time either coming or going to and from the beach which is located about five miles west of the base. But, many of them are still healing from serious wounds they had suffered from constant Decepticon attacks during the last two weeks of that final battle.
It's been both physical and mentally challenging for both bots and humans. But, Optimus spoke to his fellow bots on June 30, 2008 two weeks after returning to base and Optimus said to them, "My friends, I have never giving up and I still feel deep down in my spark that if there is any remaining Autobots out there somewhere and are still alive that they will make it here to earth". But, the challenge before Optimus was when he had talked to General Moreshower on June 20, 2008 just three days after they had returned to base. The General was relieved and he thanked Optimus and his team under Col. Lennox command for finally ending this horrific war. The General reminded Optimus that he did trust Optimus when he told him that indeed all Deceptions were dead. But, the General made it clear to Optimus that they are not to leave the base. The General said to Optimus, "I know you all know this but, it's largely due to what is now being called the most destructive chaos that has ever happened to this world so much so that not even nuclear bombs could make this. But, I'm under so much pressure from the President who is under pressure from world leaders about the fact that your team was not destroyed along with the remaining bodies of the Decepticons." Optimus stood there quietly staring at the big screen there in the command center as the General continued, "Our Allies were indeed told that all the destructive species of your kind are all accounted for and are dead then were melted down to ash and that ash is sealed and housed at Diego Garcia base in a vault that is buried a half a mile down. Their leaders just like our President are under pressure from civilians. It's hard to describe the magnitude of it and I'm sure from what you told me of seeing your world destroyed then seeing it happen to our world. I know is not what you wanted to happen here." As the General was talking Optimus started to feel sharp pains in his chest. It did not go unnoticed by the General and moments later the General spoke up again. "Prime, I know right now you are struggling from your injuries maybe in a couple months we can talk again." Optimus straighten up and brushed off the pain and then he asked the General about the classified software that is being used here at the base and if Wheeljack, Prowl and Sgt. Shout can rewrite it in such away that the human leaders could use it to receive any detection of a Cybertronian frequencies and could that possibly gain us some trustworthiness. General thought about what Optimus just said and then he gave Optimus clearance to abbreviate the software for the governments of other countries to be able to use and just received only the frequencies of that Cybertronian his/her information and not any other information. But, first the General also stipulated that he wants the software and how it works in writing on his desk before he can discussed it with the President. Optimus had a smile on his face and deep down he felt that this could someday help them be accepted to some degree. Lennox who was there for the video link up said to Optimus, "hey big guy I think you need to go back to your quarters and rest before Hatchet comes." Optimus laughed which made him cough thus making his chest hurt then he replied back to Lennox. "Yes, I do believe I need a senior nap. But don't worry When you sent me the message of the video link call from the General I did inform Ratchet first!" Lennox chuckled and shook his head as he was going down the stairway. Optimus slowly transformed and tried two times to start his engine. Then the third time it did start and Optimus left and went back to his quarters.
The new crew that arrived on June 26, 2008 they were then briefed by Lennox that they are restricted from any interaction with the Autobots but not to fear Lennox told them that these Cybertronians are the good guys. They were shown on the big screen pics of the Autobots and Lennox briefed them on the war that just ended.
Optimus called another meeting on August the 17, 2008 and the bots reported to the control hanger to met the new enlisted soldiers that are working on the base. Fifteen minutes later Optimus and the other Autobots rolled into the command center and waited in vehicle mode until ordered by Prime to transform. Prime transformed slowly this time so that it does not terrify the new officers for the first time seeing them. The new officers to the base were standing at attention on the catwalk above.
Lennox's then said to those soldiers, "okay this is Commander Prime he is their leader. They all have an alternated form in the shape of these vehicles." They stood there in amazement as the other vehicles started to shift shape and stand up before them. Optimus was already standing near the catwalk and he was the one to address the new offices first. "Hello, my name is Optimus Prime and these are my fellow Autobots. It is an honor to met you all." There was a moment of silence and then one by one the Autobots started to identify themselves.
"Greetings, I'm SIC of the Autobots my name is Prowl. Any interaction between you humans and any of the Autobots goes through me first. Oh, I want to be second in welcoming you seven here but any thing you need of us goes through your commander and then to me. Do not trespass over on the westside of the base where we currently live with out contacting Commander Prime or me."
Ironhide then tapped Prowl on the shoulder as he walked in front of him. "You seven fine officers of the United States Army my name is Ironhide, I'm commander Prime's weapon specialist and I love my cannons." You could right then and there heard Optimus imitating a sound that sounded much like a human clearing their throat. Ironhide took that queue and took a step back and spoke again,"Yes Prime, I met to say I love going to the shooting range and I love old Tv westerns and my favorite actor of that period is none other than John Wayne."
Ratchet stood towards the side so he walked a little closer and introduce himself to the seven officers there on the catwalk.
"My name is Ratchet I'm Prime's chief medical officer. Welcome to Diego Garcia Air force base. Please be advised that when we are together as a group on ground level keep a distance of at least seventy feet from us. We, will not harm you and we have sensors attached to our lower extremities and we will read immediately an alarm signal when the distance is too close. If by chance I'm ever near you and you need medical attention I can identify you by your voice and I can assist in your aid and or get you over to you medic center. I can do it much faster but safer than a human driven ambulance could do."
The next two up are the king of pranksters Sunstreaker and sideswipe
Sunstreaker nudge Sideswipe to step foreword and speak. You can here them both yapping in their native tongue. But within then seconds Optimus spoke up in English, "You two behave yourself, now!." Sideswipe and Sunstreaker nodded their heads in acknowledging Primes order then Sideswipe began to talk first. "My name is Sideswipe my brother and I are usually busy scheming up pranks. It's a way of either getting our can beat or making someone laugh their can off and welcome to the base." Everyone of those officers were smiling while Lennox rolled his eyes thinking yep so typical of sideswipe to said that he says it ever time a new officer is transfer to this base ever since they arrived here back in 2005. Sunstreaker waved also at the soldiers as they too waved back and he then said, "my name is Sunstreaker and like my brother said, we love a good laugh even if the one we pranked kicked our can. Glad we met and hope we get to met more often."
Optimus then gave them both a smile and turned around facing again the soldiers standing on the catwalk. "I have one Autobot not here at this time but his location has been vetted by the General. I don't know if he will be returning to the base at this time but, His name is Bumblebee, he is a strong and brave soldier but still much like a teenager in spark. He is staying with the boy Sam whitwicty. They are good friends and like Sam, Bumblebee is now what would be in human years in his early twenties just like Sam. The other bots waited their turn and then spoke to the seven officers there on the catwalk and then Lennox introduce the seven officers to the bots. Then the meeting was dismissed and the Autobots went back across the base to their hanger.
October 15, 2008
Almost four months pass by since, Wheeljack, Prowl and Sgt. Shout were tasked with creating the software Program. Now they are close to finishing up writing out the details of how the program works as the General had requested. It will be a 700 page report.
During the last few days of the war after they landed in Cairo Egypt and were headed toward the pyramids Sgt. Epps was with five other officers traveling in a heavily armored hummer he and Donald were wound and four killed when their vehicle was hit and rolled over and over several times but, he and Donald were able to escape. They both took off running for cover behind two big boulders and then those same two the Decepticons that ambushed them fired again at the boulders where Sgt. Epps and Donald ran behind to take cover. The boulders were blow into big chucks and Sgt. Epps was trapped under the debris. Donald was crushed to death. Minutes later after Ratchet, Mirage and the twins killed Ratrolled and Bezert Epps was rescued by Ratchet, Mirage. He suffered from a shattered broken hip, he had compound fractures to his left leg and foot his right hand was blown up and he also had cracked 4 ribs. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravely and for leading his team into the front lines and for calling in the rain from Allied troops. Dr. Deirth Galine performed the surgery on boarded the aircraft carrier as it was headed for Japan and the surgery was to remove the rest of his mangled right hand, replace his right hip and Dr. Benson who is an orthopedic doctor assisted by Dr. Deirth surgically amputated his left leg below the knee. Then when they reached Japan he was flown to the military hospital there in Tokyo and remained there in critical condition for two weeks. He was then flown to Gatling air force base located in Nevada. There at the base his wife was there waiting to see him. It had been over a year since she had seen him last and seeing him now this way was heart breaking. Sgt. Epps still stays in touch with Lennox from time to time.
Optimus has still been dealing with the spark pain that had damn near killed him. During the trip to Japan Ratchet preformed surgery while they were on the USS Importal and he had to removed 3% of Optimus spark because of the fragments of metal that was in bedded in his spark. But, the last two months he has started to feel stronger. Old Hatchet will get anybody to do what he says or they get one of many wrenches he has upside their head! Optimus spoke with Wheeljack earlier today and Wheeljack told him Optimus that he, Prowl and Sgt. Shout have completed making the software and completed the some 700 page report of how the software will work. Cybertronians have a unique frequency similar to that of a humans DNA.
Ironhide was with Lennox a week ago while Lennox was talking on a satellite video link to his little girl Annabelle. It made Ironhide think of his little girl Staylie. But she won't be little anymore if she some how survived this war. Then he thought too about his sparkmate Chromia, that feisty femme would be right in the thicket of it. She loves her cannons just as much as Ironhide does. He also told Lennox that he knows that Optimus has also been think of his sparkmate Elita and their son Rammer. "It sometimes is still hard for me to read him. Optimus has had to hide his personal feelings all his adult years." Lennox nodded and told Ironhide, "but, now you all won't have to do that."
Next Chapter
Now that the program is completed It has been sent through a secured connection to General Moreshower office. Optimus now awaits a video link call from the General and that could take some time.
Hasbro owns the names of the transformers and Paramount owns names Lennox, Epps and the name of the air force base, Diego Garcia.
Now later on in the story we also hear from Bee in a letter he mails to Optimus on how he is doing and that he has thought about Arcee and other friends his age but he fears he will never see them again. Optimus talks with him and told Bee the same thing he told the others here at the base and that is don't give up. Optimus also said to Bee, "look we never thought we would see the end of this war either." Bee went on to talk about Sam and his father and that Sam has graduated from computer communication technology and he now works for Data Grid located in Malibu, California. There Sam's department designs integrating internet software to help large corporations secure data and handle the services to billions of people though out the world. Sam is the office manager and is the top designer for software that Data Grid sells to large corporations through out the world and is doing really well. He and Carly are living together at this time. After Sam secured his first Clint with a multi million contract Sam's father sold the house Sam grew up in and is now traveling cross the country something he and Joyce were doing before this last war broke out. Sam moved out from his childhood home and he had bought himself a huge two story home with a four car garage. Bee was happy to have a large place to be stuck in most of the time.
