The next day, Mal hid her surprise when Fairy Godmother informed her that she was now in an art class instead of gym. The fairy assumed Jay rearranged things with the headmistress and made some phony excuse on why Mal shouldn't be in the class. She would have to thank him later.
The rest of the school week was uneventful for Mal.
As for Jay, he became closer to Aziz in the short time they were together.
During his 'Tourney class' with Aziz, Jay was distracted by his teacher's lips and tested them. The rest of the time, two of them made out at the bleachers until their lips were numb. Since then, Aziz has tried stealing kisses from the Lost Boy every chance he can without getting caught. One passing hour, Aziz dragged his thief into the nearby restroom, becoming late for their class because they almost took a major step in their relationship.
Friday afternoon, after school let out for the day, the secret couple went to Aziz's room for a last-minute study session before Jay reviewed with the coach. Studying lasted half a minute before Aziz was pinned on his bed with Jay hovering over him. The two became involved in a very heated make-out session, practically ripping their shirts off. Aziz's fingers clawed into his lover's scalp while Jay's hand trailed to the other thief's pants. Right when he started tugging them off, hand reaching lower—
A phone rang, ruining the moment yet again.
Aziz pulled away with a groan. "Fuck!"
"Ignore it," Jay ordered impatiently, assaulting his neck with kisses.
"C-can't," Aziz denied as he bit back a moan. "It's Ben. He d-doesn't call me unless it's important."
With a disgruntled sigh, the Lost Boy adjusted himself so he could look at the Auradon thief's face. "Make it quick," Jay instructed, fingers running through Aziz's hair while gazing at him with a certain gleam in his eye. "There's so much I want to do with you before I go."
Motivated to end it quickly, Aziz answered, but put it on speaker so Jay could hear too. "Hello?"
"Good news," Ben's voice began from the other end. "I spoke with Fairy Godmother about the surprise for the Core Four. She thought the video call was a wonderful idea."
Jay sat up to look at his lover better. "Video-call? What for?"
There was a pause of silence until Ben somewhat begged, "Please tell me you aren't doing anything on my bed."
"Not yet," Aziz teased before gazing at his thief. "Ben wanted to surprise you because he thought you and your friends may be getting homesick. Family Day is coming up, an event where parents see their kids at Auradon Prep. Ben thought that would be the perfect time so none of you felt left out. Fairy Godmother will schedule the call with you four and your parents the day before the event."
The Lost Boy perked up, an idea coming to mind. "Could I talk to her about setting up a separate call for Mal?" Jay questioned the two princes. "Mal has been missing. . . someone, and I think this would cheer her up."
"Of course!" Ben agreed quickly. "The surprise won't take place for a couple weeks, so everything will be settled as long as you talk to her before then. By the way, Aziz, I found Dude."
"Really?" Aziz grabbed his phone to listen better. "Where was he?"
"I have no idea," Ben admitted. "I found him when I was helping Carlos. He was doing a warm-up exercise when Dude came out of nowhere and started chasing him. Carlos climbed a tree because he was so scared. About a minute later, Carlos held Dude with almost no fear. As planned, I told him Dude was the campus mutt."
"Professor Yen Sid mentioned Carlos's social problems and irrational fears when Ben started searching for transfer students," Aziz explained so Jay could stay in the loop. "I suggested letting him care for Dude, the campus therapy dog. We wanted to keep that detail a secret, so Carlos didn't think we were pitying him. We had thought if Carlos took a liking to him, he could keep the Dude after he graduates, and the school can train a new therapy dog from the shelter."
"Sounds smart," Jay complimented. "I'll keep it a secret from him."
Nodding in satisfaction, Aziz impatiently went back to the phone. "Anything else?"
"Well . . ." Ben trailed off, a teasing tone in his voice. "Remember how you told me a week ago, one of the times I say 'good news' it will be—"
"No fucking way!" Aziz exclaimed dramatically. "You broke up with her?"
"Just a few minutes ago," the crown prince confirmed. "Now we have five days to devise a revenge plan."
" 'Revenge plan'?" Jay repeated incredulously. "What for?"
"Audrey had been cheating on Ben with Chad for over three years," Aziz informed without a care in the world now. "They were sexting—sending nude pics, masturbation videos, texting vulgar ideas, the list goes on. A few times, the bastard sent videos of fucking her, and the bitch sent videos of sucking him off."
Jay snarled in disgust at hearing his lover describe the details. "How do you know this?"
"I stole one of Chad's phones," Aziz admitted with a careless shrug. "He kept losing his phone, so he got two with the same number, making it easier to take. The first time, I stole it back when he ratted me out to everyone three years ago. Back then, it was them texting vulgarly, not enough to be classified as cheating, but I still told Ben. Ben couldn't break up with the bitch because their parents set them up for marriage. He asked me to continue collecting evidence so he could show his parents proof of the cheating scandal. Over the past few times I've stolen Chad's phone, I've seen so many sexual exchanges that it isn't funny and, quite frankly, should be illegal. I'm surprised you sneak around so well."
"Do you still have his phone?" Ben questioned after waiting for the explanation to end.
"Sure do," Aziz answered, grabbing the device from his bedside table. "Looks like Audrey sent Chad another nude in bed, asking if he wants to help relieve some stress from your fight."
"She doesn't believe we are done," Ben deduced. "That will make it worse when the messages get leaked."
"Hold up!" Jay requested, trying to process the information. "You're telling me, to get revenge on your ex, you're going to send pictures of her sexual conversations to everyone in the kingdom?"
"More like to everyone at the Tourney game," Ben corrected nonchalantly. "From there, I have no control of who sees it."
"I was hoping we could send the messages to everyone," Aziz schemed. "People could see the videos and hear what they said. A couple of videos have Audrey saying she enjoys cheating on her boyfriend."
"That is devious!" Jay smiled mischievously. "What can I do to help?"
"You better stay out of it," Ben warned cautiously. "We told you too much already. I don't want this to come back on you. I didn't want Aziz involved, but he's the only one who could steal and return a phone without getting caught."
"If I can't help you, maybe Carlos can," Jay suggested. "Carlos is a computer genius. He could figure out how to send the messages how you want and make it to where no one can identify the sender."
"Fine," Ben grumbled. "But Aziz or I will send it just in case, so you two don't get caught in the crossfire. Now, I will plan how to ask Mal to be my coronation date."
"Good luck," Aziz encouraged, locking eyes with his surprised thief. "I know you love her. Hopefully, she'll say yes."
"Hopefully," Ben agreed. "Let me know if I need to stay at my parents' castle so you can have some privacy. My only request: don't do anything on my bed."
Aziz scoffed as he hung on his friend. Meanwhile, Jay was confused by the revelation. "Ben is in love with Mal?" He questioned rhetorically. "For how long?"
"I'm not sure," Aziz fibbed, placing the two devices on his nightstand. "He dreamed about a date with a purple-haired girl at the Enchanted Lake. He believed she was from the Isle and started working on his proclamation. Ben sent a letter to Yen Sid requesting his opinion on students. I knew you before you came here."
Jay couldn't help chuckling. "You knew I was gay from the beginning and wanted to embarrass me?"
"No, I was being completely serious," Aziz insisted, wrapping his arms around his thief's neck. "And here you are, on a private tour."
Jay paused, debating on what he should do. After a moment, he sighed softly. "Aziz . . . there is something I need to tell you before we go too far."
Aziz tilted his head in feigning curiosity, having a vague idea. Collecting his thoughts, Jay confessed, "My friends and I came to Auradon to steal Fairy Godmother's wand by Maleficent's orders. She wants to remove the barrier and do something for Mal, but she is unsure. My father sent a letter to me days ago saying I didn't have to go if I didn't want to. I don't know what to do because I love you, but my friends are counting on me. I'm sorry."
Aziz's jaw dropped at the confession. He was grateful the Lost Boy revealed his evil plan, but—
"Prove it."
Jay raised a curious brow. "Excuse me?"
"Prove. It." Aziz challenged slowly, wagging his brows. "By making love to me. You have two hours before you meet with Coach. Or is that too long for you?"
Chuckling softly, Jay teased, "You better warn Ben about needing the room all weekend. I'm not letting you go until I prove my love for you."
Pleased by the response, Aziz tugged on his neck, pulling him down for a bruising kiss. Meanwhile, Jay let his hand trail down back to before the interruption.
After the fun-filled two hours with his new boyfriend, Jay reluctantly insisted he should spend some time with his friends after speaking with the coach. This way, Jay could tell them they were official. Though he hated to see him go, Aziz couldn't help the giddy feeling of finally calling the Isle thief his boyfriend.
After less than fifteen minutes, Jay barged into Mal and Evie's room, proudly showing off his new jersey. Carlos whistled appreciatively from the floor, where a computer rested on his lap and a golden dog lay next to him. Evie copied two homework sets at her desk while Mal flipped through her spell book on her bed.
"How did your plan work with Jane?" Jay wondered, taking a seat next to his best friend. "Are you going to see the wand?"
"Fairy Godmother refused," Mal informed with an aggravated huff. "Now, I'm trying to find a spell to help us out. All I've used is a hair spell. I'm starting to wonder what Mother meant by it helping her, because it's certainly not helping me."
Cautiously, Jay laid a comforting hand over hers. "Don't worry," he reassured quietly so the others couldn't hear. "We will get the wand. You will see her again. I promise."
"Oh!" Evie perked up, suddenly remembering, "I forgot to tell you. I found out Fairy Godmother blesses Ben with her wand at the coronation. We all get to go." The princess rolled her eyes dramatically. "I have so many outfits to make."
Her three friends stared at her incredulously. Evie wondered with her ditsy voice, "What?"
Before anyone could answer, there was a sharp, gentle knock on the door. "Hold that thought," Mal ordered, slamming her book shut.
Climbing off her bed, Mal opened the door, revealing a smiling Ben. "Hey," he greeted politely. "I didn't see you or Evie today and thought I should check up on you just in case."
Ben peered inside, smiling knowingly at Jay. "Your boyfriend told me you were taking my offer," he teased. "Try not to make a mess."
The thief's friends whipped their heads to gaze at him in surprise. "Aziz and I are dating," Jay bashfully admitted. "It's not that a big deal."
"It's a huge deal!" Mal exclaimed incredulously. "I've been telling you for years that you need to find an Auradon thief, and you did! I'm so happy for you."
"You have a lot to talk about now," Ben acknowledged, slowly walking backwards. "I'll just—"
"Hold on," Mal requested before the prince could leave. "Is it true we get to go to your coronation?"
"Of course," Ben answered as he leaned against the doorway, "the whole school gets to go along with most of the kingdom."
"Wow!" Mal exclaimed almost sarcastically. "Do you think the four of us could stand in the front row, so we can have a better view of your coronation?"
Ben hesitated, like he stopped himself from saying more. "I wish you could," he claimed. "But it won't be possible for all of you. Since Jay is dating Aziz now, he could be near the second or third row with him. Up front, it's just me, my folks, and my girlfriend."
"Your girlfriend. . ." Mal let the information settle. "Ok, thanks. Bye!"
Slamming the door in the prince's face, Mal turned to her friends with a mischievous smile. "I think it's time that Prince Ben got himself a new girlfriend. I need a love spell."
