DimentOlive waved the Grape. "Greetings and salutations!"
She glanced to them. "You look ridiculous."
"Do we?"
"And speak strangely."
"What are you doing?"
"Playing billiards. Care to join?"
They grabbed the stick and twirled it, nearly hitting themselves with it, and almost dropping it. They quickly straightened themself out, looking a bit nervous.
"Heh...Sorry."
"Entertain me for a spell, who are you? I have yet to see you around."
"Our name is Super DimentOlive. You can call us SDO, we could care less."
"Super DimentOlive? That's a combination of both the names of those Create-O-Guy wanted to capture..."
"Yep! We're a fusion, meant to stop Izuku and his posse from stopping us!"
"You sound like a program. Do you have any hobbies?"
"Are you going to reset the board so we can play with you?"
Grape glanced at the board. Not a single ball sat on the board. "Of course."
She snapped. The sockets emptied themselves, the balls rolling to the center of the board. Grape grabbed the white ball and handed it to SDO.
"Your turn." Grape slid the yellow ball to herself. "Have you...played billiards before?"
"Nope! We haven't done anything, really. We've been enjoying our fleeting moments of first being alive. We want to do everything fun we can." They smiled, bearing pale blue fangs.
"Basically, the goal is get either my ball or the red ball into one of those sockets you see lining the sides of the board. To make it easier for you, we won't deal with points. You don't seem like you have a high attention span and I have no desire to bore you explaining the rules in full detail."
"Okay!"
"You're going first."
"Oh. Sorry."
"So...a fusion? I've never heard of such before. But to be fair, I've never really left my home before either."
SDO tapped the ball and it rolled a small bit. "Oh, that wasn't hard enough. But yeah. We're a fusion."
Grape twirled her pole and aimed it towards her ball. "Well, my name is Grape."
"That's nice. Why are you here?"
"Silence, I need to think."
"Sorry."
Grape sighed as her ball hardly tapped SDO's. "Well, it seems like I've lost my skill when it comes to playing with others. This is why I need them, they make everything much more fun."
"'Them?' We're a 'them.' We can be your new 'them.'"
"By them, I mean my Sour Bunch. When the worlds collided, I lost track of them. I hope they're safe. But, they're strong, they can care for themselves."
"They must miss you, right? If you miss them so much."
"Aren't you under Create-O-Guy's control? Why are you trying to befriend me?"
"..."
"Well?"
"...Because we don't want to fight. We want to help. We don't want to shed blood and bones. We want to help Create-O-Guy, but we want to help Izuku too. Something about this doesn't feel right, but we can't stray from our programming."
Grape stopped. "...You're right, you know."
"Us? Right? Huh?"
Grape tossed her pole to the wall. "He gave me something as a mark for working with him. He said he'd give it to me if I retrieved Dimentio or Olive, but I failed that. He gave it to me because he felt bad, I guess?" She pulled out the pen. "It has the purpose of rewriting Fate's will. I can make the world work in my favor, tragedy or not. But...Will I really feel pleasure from my tragedy if I do not work hard for it? Many writers struggled to get their stories told, and some even were ahead of their times. Why can't I grasp the idea of me struggling towards my goal? After all, it'll be a better accomplishment if I work hard for it. If I cheat...what was the point of even doing it at all?"
"That...sounds like you've had a sad life. If you can't handle a bit of a struggle, you might be a perfectionist."
"...My caretaker always told me I was never good enough."
SDO stamped a foot. "Then they're a terrible caretaker! Look at you! You care for your underlings, you have a goal and want to work towards it, even if that means failure! You're really, really pretty! You seem like good enough to us, so what do they know about you?! If you want to fail, that's good! Because in order to learn, you need to fail! Because you learn things! Yeah! This totally isn't information we're telling you but don't believe ourself!"
"You...think I'm pretty? But my image is terrible..."
"Did your 'caretaker' tell you that?" They raised an eyebrow.
Grape rubbed her hand with a thumb, remaining silent.
"Don't believe what they say because they suck! Destroy the government!" They flipped over the table.
Grape quickly moved aside as to not get hit from the table.
"Oh...Sorry. We got caught up in the moment there. But if you...if you want to find your...You said Sour Bunch?"
Grape nodded.
"If you want to find your Sour Bunch, we want to help!"
Grape chuckled. "You're a strange one. How could you be so kind with Dimentio inside you?"
"...He...is inside us...B-but..." They grabbed their chest. "He isn't us! We want to help! Unless...unless Izuku actually did get through to him...Do we want to help, or does he? Who even are we? W-we thought we were somebody...But we can feel them now. Dimentio...Olive...Zeth...W-we can't take this!" They fell to the floor, kicking their feet and screaming. "We don't want to be them! We want to be us! US!"
Grape backed out the room as a few 40-Guys came running in. "...My dear..."
They were right. She didn't want to help Create-O-Guy. She wanted to grab her Sour Bunch and go home. She'd just recovered from Peach's attack, she had no intention of getting killed again. She needed to find a way off the ship.
She went back through the hall she had when she first entered. The door was sealed shut, still being repaired by a 40-Guy in glasses. She looked to Grape.
"The door is fixed up now." She backed from it. "But do you really want t-"
"MOVE!"
Grape shoved her aside and desperately opened the door. She needed to leave before Create-O-Guy knew what she was doing. She pressed the button five times before it slid open. She went to leave.
She nearly fell into the water below, grabbing to the doorway to prevent falling. She tucked her dress as close to her body as she could, hands shaking. She tried to pull herself, only causing herself to slip more. The ship came to a stop, causing her to slam against the floor. Her brooch came loose, pummeling to the water.
"No!"
She ignored the fact she couldn't swim and released the door frame. She reached for the brooch, only to be stopped by the 40-Guy when she grabbed Grape by the collar. She dragged Grape into the door and shut it.
"Are you crazy?! I tried to warn you that we were over water and-"
Grape slammed her fist against the door. "Open it! My brooch is gone!"
"Just get a new one."
"You don't understand. That was a gift. It's my mark as a leader. It was the only thing Rex gave me that was special to me. Every book, every servant...nothing mattered much to me besides that brooch. It was the only thing he gave to me that...he gave to me out of the kindness of his heart...It was the only thing that was truly a gift, rather than something to please me."
A yellow 40-Guy came to her, patting her back with multiple arms. "There, there. I can have Water Guy find it for you, if you want."
"Create-O-Guy...He told me he'd give me anything for helping him. Why did I accept that pen? The only thing I want right now is my Sour Bunch...They're all I care for." She pushed one of his tentacles off. "I need to have a 'talk' with your leader. He best be ready for my wrath. Did he ask me what I desired? Of course not! He only cares about himself!"
Thunder Guy looked to 40-Eyes and shrugged as Grape stormed off. "First the fusion, now this? Do you really think that-"
She shook her head. "No. Create-O-Guy can handle this. He's not the reason these two aren't cooperating. They both have personal issues they need to work out, is all."
"If you...say so."
