Our beautiful series has come to an end, guys. I hope you've enjoyed the story as much as I have and that this epilogue is a nicely wrapped-up bow for you.
Epilogue
"Rhiannon Charlotte Isabella and Viveka Samira Valentina!" Regina yelled. Both girls gasped and ran outside to Emma, kicking the ball around with a now Fifteen-year-old Big Henry and Nine-year-old little Henry, who now went by Daniel. Regina had found a way to take the memories of the twelve-year-old version of their son and give them to the older version. And while they both remembered now those years that were lost to them both, they were two completely different versions of each other. Their fifteen-year-old was closer to whom Henry had been, but their little one never went through the rough period of his distrust of Regina. He was much more secure and happier with his parents and had a much closer bond.
"Mama, Mama," they called and ran to her. Emma noted their mouths were covered in apple filling and crumbs. It was clear that they had gotten into the apple pie again.
"Did you two get into the apple pie Mommy made again?" They looked up at her with big eyes, one pair brown like her wife's and the other yellow and innocent.
"Yes, but Mama, it was talking to my tummy," Little Queen insisted.
"Yes, Mama, it talks, I hear too," Viveka agreed. Emma laughed along with Henry and Daniel. Regina came out of the house with a three-year-old on their hip who had her wife's dark hair and her own green eyes like her brothers. Henry had written about her birth one night before they knew Emma was pregnant. They had named her Xiomara Genesis Katalina Regina Mills. Regina had been annoyed that Emma had kept slipping Regina onto the end of all the girls, this time having enlisted King since she was the one giving birth.
"Babe, you should be resting," Emma said, trying to distract her.
"I was until the baby asked me why he couldn't have pie early too," Regina said, pointing to her protruding belly. Emma only smiled.
"Tattletale," Little Queen called out, and they all had to chuckle as they heard the baby tell Little Queen that it only wanted her to share.
"How about this, why don't we all finish what's left of the pie."
"Hmph, they're lucky I made two," Regina grumbled but went to sit on the bricks surrounding her apple tree. They had remodelled the house to fit everyone and several of her guards now shared the old house. At the same time, others had built homes on some of the land surrounding the house.
"Mom, you really should be resting," Henry laughed. Regina smiled at him. He had grown up so much in the last few years and was grateful to be aware again but weirded out that a part of him was still growing and would remember just like him. Although their destinies were no longer intertwined, and Daniel would not be becoming the author that much started to be clear as he became more of an outdoor kid than Henry, who had become more introverted due to no one else growing up.
"I know, but you will never know the pain of pregnancy cravings," Regina groaned. Henry laughed and Daniel ran over to hug her.
"I understand, Mommy. Your pie is really, really, really, really..." Daniel kept going until he was breathless. "… Good!" They all chuckled.
"You mads at us Mommy?" Viveka asked. As usual, she had rejected all things pink but wanted a skirt and a male leather jacket with a dinosaur shirt or monster trucks. Little Queen was all about being as elegantly dressed as Regina. They didn't do pink out of preference but knew they looked good. Viveka mostly liked her hair cropped short, but sometimes, she wanted it long with an undercut. Little Queen pouted whenever she had to cut her split ends. She loved her long hair, which was gorgeous and vibrant, dark red. Xiomara fought her on brushing her hair, often having Emma's messier look if she didn't brush both of their heads.
"No, mi cisnecite, mi reinita," Regina told them. They gave her big smiles.
"Pie time!" Emma announced. Emma came out with the pies and forks for everyone. They all enjoyed the two pies until the tins were empty.
"We've ruined dinner," Regina lightly complained.
"Not true. They're my children; with your cooking, there's always room!" Emma quipped. They all giggled together as the baby agreed that there was definitely room for dinner, especially spray-canned cheese. Regina groaned, hating that craving the most.
"Nooo, why do all your children like spray canned cheese," Regina whined. Each child had a similar grin, which matched Emma's as she shrugged.
"Don't worry; maybe when he comes out, he'll be a bit more refined," Emma said, imitating Regina. Once again, the family laughed together. Emma and Regina kissed and thought simultaneously that this was what they had always dreamed of: a house full of love with no one standing in their way.
"Moms, is this what you dreamed about?" Henry asked them. They smiled at him.
"No," they said together.
"It's much better than I could have ever wished for," Regina told him. Emma nodded.
"Your grandmother once told me that a dream is a wish your heart makes. Yes, I know the song, but it's right, kid. It soothed my heartache. But when I finally got to reality, I stopped running. This life has become so much more than that dream, and it is more fulfilling and soothing than anything I could ever dream again with my parents and brother, you, Daniel, Rhiannon, Viveka, Xiomara, and Reginald." Each child beamed at her or sent her love.
"He is not being called Reginald. Nice, try sneaking that in when you were being all sweet." Regina glared at her, and Emma just gave her back her dopey grin.
"Fiiiine."
"Just for that Emmanuel is going in his name."
"Oh, but Regina, I got a theme going," Emma whined. Regina ignored her.
"Yep, it's going to be Esteban Emmauel Mills." Regina stood up. "Come on let's go get ready for dinner, Claudio is bringing Spanish bread, and King made a delicious flan." The children cheered and followed her inside.
"Oh, come on Regina, Esteban sucks," Emma complained. Regina grinned.
"So, you agree that Emmanuel would be the perfect first name for our baby boy?" The baby also sent her an agreement.
"Dang it, I've been tricked." The girls skipped around her.
"Emmanuel, Emmanuel the baby is named Emmanuel," they sang. Daniel joined in with them, seeing the dismay on Emma's face. Emma huffed.
"Only if you keep the theme of Reginald before Mills."
"Good, then you agree that the baby will be named Emmanuel Raul Felipe Reginald Mills?" Emma thought about it and liked the sound of the name.
"Yes, agreed."
"Finally, because the baby agreed, he would vacate the premises when we agreed on a name." Emma's eyes went wide as labor started. "And also, it's payback time for sending me Xiomara's labor after you watched that tiktok video about transferring the pain to the father."
"It was an acci…Ah!" Henry laughed and helped his mom to the couch.
"I'll call the midwives," Regina said happily as she had a very peaceful labor chatting with Zelena, who brought over Zuri to entertain her cousins. King arrived to defend along with her baby girl Alanna, who was a year old. Although she was technically on maternity leave, King refused to miss this moment. Robin arrives with Roland, and eventually, towards the end, because she can only take so much of Emma's parents, they came with Neal. Granny led the charge in cooking up a storm with Claudio and Ruby.
"Can life get any better?" Emma whispered to Regina as they rested among their family and friends in the living room eating well and admiring the baby.
"With all this love in the room?" Regina asked. "Always."
