New chapter!

Before I start the chapter I would like to inform anyone who thinks this that Neoma and Kelvin ARE NOT A COUPLE. They aren't now and they never will be mostly due to the fact the people I based them off of are related. I also won't be shipping any of my characters with the ones in Yu-Gi-Oh!

There will be small sorta trigger warnings this chapter so just a heads up:)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kelvin woke up to the sensation of vibrating on his wrist. After a couple minutes, he finally woke up, looking out the window and hearing Kit snoring.

"Why are they calling me so early?" Kelvin mumbled, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

He tapped the glowing bracelet three times before is projected a spectral looking girl with pink hair and odd eyes, one green one red, the girl that was in Neoma's locket.

"Kelvin! What happened?! Where's Neoma?! Wh-"

"Chill Solana! We're fine." Kelvin interrupted, while proceeding to explain what happened. "So Neoma is fine."

"Then how come when Cyrene called her last night, we got the response from some pink haired pigtail girl?" A female voice in the background asked.

Immediately after hearing that, Kelvin said, "Oh for the love of Atlas!" He hurriedly jumped out of bed waking up Kit, and ending the call.

"Where are you going? It's like six in the morning!" Kit asked.

Kelvin just grabbed the new cards on the desk and the green duel disk, and rushed out of the door.

He ran towards the girls dorms before reaching her room and continuously knocking before it was answered by Julia who said, "Who the heck is knocking the door this earl-" she paused when she saw Kelvin. "Who are you?"

Kelvin just asked, "Is Neoma in here?"

"Yes, but-"

She didn't get continue as he proceeded to walk into the room and towards Neoma who said, "What the heck are you doing here?"

He lowered his voice to a whisper and said, "Why did you lose your locket?!"

"I didn't willingly lose it! How do your think I feel?!" Neoma whispered back.

"Well now according to the others, Zuzu has it!"

"How could this get any worse?" Neoma cursed. "Look. We'll just find out where her duel school is. Ask for my locket back, then we'll leave."

"But she probably saw Cyrene, so we just partially broke our cover." Kelvin pointed out. "How are we supposed to handle that?!"

"We can figure it out when we get there. For now-" Neoma was about to continue talking before being interrupted by Julia.

"I'm standing right here you know."

They both awkwardly looked away from her, almost forgetting that she was their.

Then, an announcement went off saying, "Neoma and Kelvin to the President's office."

When the announcement ended, Julia said, "I'm wondering what the President would want you for at this hour."

Neoma just ignored her remark, noticing her new deck and light blue duel disks on the desk and put then on before she and Kelvin walked out.

When they arrived, they saw Declan waiting at his desk and walked up to him.

"I was wondering if you got your decks and duel disks yet?" He asked.

"Nah, they totally aren't visibly on our arms right now." Kelvin sarcastically remarked. "Yes we have them."

"Good," Declan said.

"You're going to ask us which dimension we're from, aren't you?" Neoma said.

"That and a few other things." He responded, pushing up his glasses.

"To answer you question, none of the above," Neoma answered. "We come from outside the four dimensions, in another reality."

Even though Declan was slightly shocked, he asked, "Then how did you come to this reality, and why did you come here?"

Neoma shot a quick glance towards Kelvin before replying, "We came to this reality because we have a-" she paused for a moment, trying to think of the right word to describe their situation without revealing to much. "-big problem in our reality and we found a possible solution to it in this reality. As to how we got here, you're going to ask our friend when she gets here."

"Why didn't she come with you?" He asked.

"As Minerva puts it," Kelvin said. "If to much of one thing from one reality comes into another at a time, then it will put to much strain on it and possibly cause both realities to break."

"I see," Declan said. "When will your other friends come here?"

"It depends." Neoma said, not giving any further context.

"Do you have any way of contacting the people in your reality?" Declan asked.

Neoma's hand twitched. "We do, but at the moment we can't call them due to certain circumstances but they can call us."

He then passed the both of them a sheet of paper and said, "Since you two are about a semester behind, you'll both have to get separate instructors. Fill out the forms so we can figure out who should be your instructors."

Neoma and Kelvin both filled out the paper. The questions were pretty simple, but when they got to the question where they had to choose which summoning method to use they had a small problem. Kelvin's deck used Blue-Eyes cards, which are mostly Fusion and Synchro, while Neoma's Exosister's were focused on Xyz. The problem were the special cards in their decks, which were Ritual cards, so they had to right that down.

Once they finished, they handed it back to Declan who said, "You'll meet your instructors later today. Now-" he was interrupted by a phone call. He picked up the phone and a minute later put it down saying, "I'm afraid I have other duties to attend to at the moment. You may leave but before you do I'll need your pendulum card."

"You mean this?" Kelvin said taking out the card. "Why do you need it?"

"We've been trying to make new Pendulum cards but we don't have a , blueprint we'll call it," he explained. "I would like to borrow that your card to make progress faster."

"Sure." Kelvin said, giving him the card.

"Good, you may go back to your dorms now."

Neoma's Dream.

No, no, no.

Her hands are covered in blood.

That isn't her.

It just can't be her...

Everyone else is gone.

I'm the only one left.

I'm all alone.

She can't be gone!

She's going to kill me...

"Your sister is gone, forever..."

Wake up.

She dead, she's dead, she's gone forever!

Wake up!

It was my job to prevent this!

Wake up!

Everyone is going to die now!

WAKE UP!

Neoma woke up with a start, shaking and sweating. When did she fall asleep?

She slowed her breathing, repeatingly murmuring, "It's okay. It's okay."

Once she calmed down, she looked around the room and noticed Julia was gone.

Neoma just sat down on the bed, not knowing what to do. She wouldn't find out who her instructor is until the afternoon.

Neoma grabbed her deck and started looking through her cards. Other than her Exosisters, there were those special ritual cards that she is assuming were made by Minerva back home, but she stopped at a new ritual monster. There was no way Minerva could've made this card.

Was it-

No, that's impossible, Neoma thought, there's no way she could've. She's dead.

It was a level twelve LIGHT attribute ritual monster with 3500 attack and defense points. But it wasn't the stats or effects that confused Neoma, it was the name.

Temperance - Irene the Lady of Balance

How...?

Before she could dwell on it any further, a someone knocked on the door. She opened it and saw Kelvin standing in the hallway.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I was bored, so I decided to visit you." He replied.

Neoma shrugged. "Fine, come in."

He went inside the room and jumped on the bed with Neoma. "So..." Kelvin trailed off. "What do you wanna do?"

"Have you looked through your deck recently?" She suddenly asked.

He shook his head. "Why do you ask?"

"Check."

"Fine." Kelvin relented, looking through his deck. All was normal, excluding the pendulum card he had, until he came across a new card.

His reaction was the same as Neoma's when he saw the caerd.

Fortitude - Atlas the Fearless Protector

"How...?"

"I'm just as confused as you are." Neoma said, showing him Irene. "Minerva didn't make these, that's for sure, so how..."

"We could call them." Kelvin suggested.

"We can't without my locket," she pointed out. "Otherwise we would have to wait for them to call us."

After she said that, Kelvin's bracelet started to glow and vibrate. "Speak of the devil." Kelvin said, tapping the bracelet again before a spectral image of a fifth-teen year old black haired girl with blue eyes appeared from it.

"Hey Cerelia," Neoma greeted. "What's up?"

"Just checking on you guys for Solana since she is currently out for the moment," the girl, known as Cerelia, said. "Kelvin, you kinda ended the call very abruptly earlier so we assumed that you went to Neoma."

Then another girl appeared next to Cerelia, with brown hair and grey eyes. "Took a while to get the energy to call back." She said.

"Hey, Minerva," Neoma said. "So you know how you made some of the cards for our decks using the cards we found as a base, while the rest came from our spiritstones."

"Yeah, why do you ask?" The girl, Minerva, said.

"Did you make these cards?" She asked, showing them Irene while Kelvin showed Atlas.

Cerelia awkwardly chuckled while Minerva said, "No, I didn't, but I think I know where they came from." She looked towards Cerelia.

"I'm really hoping your going to say that they're from our spiritstones and we don't actually have their souls in our hands." Kelvin said.

"Well," Cerelia spoke up. "Before you guys left, we got a special call from the spirit realm, and they heard about our plan and said that they wanted to help. So I may or may not have put their souls in your spiritstones just before you left." She then nervously rubbed the back of her neck. "But I guess that while your spiritstones were making some of your cards, it might've accidentally put their souls in some cards while trying to make some."

"You have got to be kidding me," Neoma grumbled. "Does Tyson know?"

"We'd be crazy if we told him," Cerelia said.

"Then we better not come home to the entire world being in flames, 'kay." Neoma said.

"One more thing," Miners said. "Mars has a message for Kelvin."

"What is it?" He asked.

"Take your med-." Cerelia said.

Kelvin immediately ended the call.

"No, you are going to take your medication." Neoma said, already knowing what he was thinking.

"But I don't wanna take them." He whined.

"And I don't want you driving me or anyone else more insane then you already do," she retorted. "Now you either go take your meds or you face the wrath of me and my moon whip."

"Fine, fine!" He said before leaving the room with Neoma following him. "Why are you following me?"

"So I can actually see you take your meds."

They walked for a few minutes before finding his dorm, and opened the door. Kelvin pick up his bag and took out two containers, pouring out a pill from each of them. He grabbed a cup of water and swallowed the pills.

"There, satisfied?" Kelvin asked.

"Yes," she nodded. "So, what do you wanna do now?"

"We haven't had breakfast yet," Kelvin mentioned.

"There's food in your bag." Neoma said.

"But that food is for emergencies." Kelvin said. "You of all people should know that."

"Well, I don't see any food here," she said, searching around the small kitchen for any ingredients, now starting to wonder why they put a kitchen in these dorms if there isn't any food to cook. "Maybe there's a cafe or restaurant near by."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Kelvin said. "Let's go."

They walked out of the room and to the elevator, going down a few levels before reaching the first floor.

They left the building and saw a small Cafe, and went inside.

"Two sandwiches please." Kelvin said, sliding the cashier a five dollar bill.

She put the money in the cashier and gave him the change. A few minutes later, they got their sandwiches.

They sat a a small bench and ate their food.

"These sandwiches are good," Kelvin said, biting into his sandwich. "But I like those Shawarabas you make more."

"You mean Shawarma?" Neoma corrected.

"Yeah, that."

When they finished Kelvin saw a small card store and said, "Hey, we should get some cards for the others."

Neoma thought about it for a moment before saying, "I don't know we can afford it."

"Please..." Kelvin pleaded.

"Fine."

They went inside the store and he picked a few card packs before heading to the front of the store. "Excuse me," Kelvin said, trying to get the man's attention. "How much for these?"

The old man turned around, revealing he had purple eyes, and said, "Why hello there. That will be ten dollars."

"Aw man..." Kelvin sulked. He only had five dollars.

"Kelvin it's two dollars each," Neoma pointed out, doing the math in her head. "We can still get two card packs."

His mood was immediately lifted and he bought two of the card packs. They were about to walk out of the store before Kelvin accidentally bumped into someone.

"Ow..." he moaned.

"Again Kelvin?" Neoma said, before turning to the man Kelvin bumped into. "Are you okay?"

The man Kelvin bumped into was around thirty years old, with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes, wearing a green jacket with a white shirt underneath and khaki pants.

"Don't worry about it kid, I'm okay." He said, picking himself up. "Just in a bit of a rush."

Neoma saw the LID badge on his collar and said, "You work at LID."

"Yeah, just came back from teaching at the LID's Egypt branch in Suez." He said.

"Wait you're from Egypt?" Kelvin asked, after getting up.

"No, I'm from Kansas."

"But do you know Arabic?" Kelvin asked. "Do you know what hayawan means?"

"No I don't." The man answered.

"Sorry about him." She apologized.

"Again, don't worry about it," he said. "Just here to visit someone." He walked to the front of the store and said, "Hey Mr. Muto."

The old man saw the man and smiled. "Joey! Nice to see you. How was your trip?"

"It was okay."

Neoma was about to walk out the store before Kelvin said, "Can we hang around for a bit?"

"Fine."

Joey and Soloman we're having a conversation they couldn't hear before Joey said, "I gotta go now teach. See ya soon."

He saw that the duo was still standing at the door and asked, "Do you need something?"

"No," Neoma said. "But this little gremlin wanted to hang around."

"I'll show you gremlin!" Kelvin yelled, angry at the comment. He jumped onto Neoma and they both wrestled each other on the ground.

"Hey calm down you two." Joey said, trying to separate the two. He eventually was able to separate them and said, "Don't fight over something like that."

"She started it." Kelvin pouted.

Neoma just rolled her eyes.

"Why are you two just waiting by the door anyway?" He asked.

"He wanted to talk to you." She said, pointing at Kelvin.

"Why?"

"Because I want to talk to someone that isn't Miss grumpy face." He said in an innocent tone.

Neoma just groaned. "Besides, we were going to head back to LID anyway and I am drained of all my energy."

Joey just stared at the duo, the situation feeling a bit awkward. "Sure. Why not?"

They started to walk towards the LID building.

"So the guy back at the shop is your teacher?" Kelvin asked remembering Joey calling him 'Teach'.

He nodded his head. "Yep. I sucked at duel monsters before Yug' introduced me to his grandpa, Mr. Muto." Joey said. "Yugi and his gramps taught me everything I know about the game."

"Who's Yugi?" Kelvin asked.

Joey paused. "A very close friend." He answered.

"He sounds important to you." Neoma said, also catching the way he spoke about him. "Did something happen to him?"

Joey stopped walking. He shook his head. "It's nothing important." Joey said, waving his hand. "So why did you both decide to attend the Leo Institute?"

"It was the only duel school we knew," Kelvin said. "And it claims to be the best duel school in Paradise City, and we don't have anywhere to stay so, yeah."

They soon arrived at the Leo Institute and they both said their goodbyes. They both took the elevator to the dorms and went to Neoma's room.

"Okay, let's see what we got." Kelvin said, jumping onto the bed, taking out the card packs they bought earlier.

Neoma sat down with him, taking one of the card packs. They both opened them up, looking through the contents.

"These should be good to at least make a base for everyone else's decks." Neoma stated. She took the cards and placed them on the desk. She reached for her neck before frowning. "Kelvin you'll have to do it."

He went up to the cards and tapped his bracelet twice before the cards started to glow and disappear.

"They should get them in an hour." Neoma said.

"So what do we do now?" Kelvin asked.

Neoma thought for a moment before saying, "We should probably do some research on this Reality. Maybe we might find something useful." She took out her duel disk and typed on the screen a bit. "This should have-" she stopped when a news article showed up on the screen.

"Well that worked."

She gestured Kelvin over and they both read the news article.

Yusho Sakaki's Son DEFEATS the Sledgehammer using a new summoning method?!

Below the article was a recording. Neoma played it as it showed Yuya summoning three monsters at once; a literal 'sword-fish' a funny looking snake, and-

Kelvin couldn't help but laugh. Neoma just simply sighed.

"That dragon looks just like Solana!" Kelvin laughed.

Neoma shot him a glare and he stopped laughing. They watched the rest of the video before Neoma scrolled up to look at other news articles. She then stopped at a news article titled: 'Kaiba Corporation and Leo Institute Partnership'.

"Kaiba Corporation?" Neoma repeated to herself.

Kelvin searched it up on his own duel disk and read the contents. "Apparently it's a very big gaming company run by some guy called Seto Kaiba." Kelvin said, showing her the screen. "He's supposed to be a really good duelist, wielding all three Blue-Eyes White Dragons but hasn't actually dueled in a while."

"Don't you have Blue-Eyes?" Neoma asked.

"And?"

"Nevermind."

She scrolled some more, before Kelvin said, "Swipe faster." He grabbed the screen and started swiping it really fast, before Neoma took it back. She stopped at a news article titled: 'Pro Duelist Joey Wheeler Dominates the Pro Circuit'. Below the title was a picture of Joey and behind him was a black skeletal dragon with red eyes.

Kelvin was confused. "Wait, if he was a pro, then why did es he work here?"

"This was five years ago," Neoma said, reading the date it published. "Maybe something happened."

She scrolled up and saw an article that said: 'The King of Games Tragically Dies in a Fire'.

"Who is 'The King of Games'?" Kelvin asked.

"How am I supposed to know?" She rhetorically asked. "Search it up."

He went on his duel disk again and searched it up, and a picture of a man with spiky gold, black, and pink(?) hair with pink eyes and an upside down pyramid with a chain hanging around his neck, popped up on screen.

"It says he is-or was-the greatest duelist in history, never having lost a duel." He said as he read the information. "He beat Maximillion Pegasus-the creator of duel monsters-, Seto Kaiba, Marik Ishtar-whoever that is-, and saved the world several times, with the help of his friends, from the shadow games." He scrolled down to another picture of The King of Games but noticed something; he looked slightly younger in this picture. He looked back and forth between the two pictures to make sure he wasn't seeing things but he was sure. "Does he look younger in this picture?" He asked.

"Did you check the year the photos were taken?"

He checked and confirmed that both pictures were taken in the same year.

"Then yes he does." She answered.

"And that doesn't concern you in the slightest?"

"We've jumped through realms, fought in a dimensional war, saw people who died come back to life, and fight literal dream spirits almost every night." Neoma stated nonchalantly. "This should be almost normal for us at this rate."

Kelvin thought about it and nodded. "Good point."

"What's his name any way?"

He looked at page and his eyes widened for a moment. "Yugi Muto."

"So he's the guy Joey was talking about?" Neoma asked. "Then it's no wonder why he wouldn't want to talk about it. Wonder how- what was his name?- Solomon felt about it."

"Can we stop 'researching' for a bit," he asked. "All this new information is making my head spin."

"Sure," she said, putting down the duel disk. She then frowned. "I feel like we're forgetting something . . ."

Kelvin thought for a moment. "Ask Liora. She would probably know."

Neoma flinched and widened her eyes. "Was Liora in my Spiritstone or in my locket before we left?"

"Well Cerelia put Sere- I mean Irene's soul in your Spiritstone so Liora would've gone into-" he suddenly stopped as the realization dawned on him. "Oh no . . ."

"Well isn't this fantastic." Neoma said, sarcasm practically pouring out her mouth. "We need to find Zuzu now."

"But what if that guy that attacked us yesterday finds us," Kelvin pointed out.

Neoma sighed, feeling a bit stupid for once. "You're right, for once."

"So what do we do until we meet our instructors?" Kelvin asked.

"Lets explore the building a bit," she suggested. "Try to get familiar with the place so we don't end up lost."

They left the room and tool the elevator, traveling a floor up to the classrooms. There were several duel fields and some actual classes. They observed the teachers and students a bit, watching some of the duels even though they couldn't actually hear what they're saying.

"I really hope all the teachers aren't the same." Neoma said.

"What do you mean?" Kelvin asked.

"These teachers are kinda full of themselves, thinking their abilities are superior just because they work for this institution," she pointed out. "This is easily seen in the students."

"Hey, what're you two doing out of class?" A male voice behind them asked.

They turned around and saw a thirty year old man with brown hair that and brown eyes behind them.

"We're new students here and we're supposed to get private instructors later," Neoma explained. "We didn't know what to do until then, so we decided to watch some duels."

The man looked at them and asked, "What're your names?"

"Neoma Sapphires."

"Kelvin Hendrix."

The man took out a tablet and searched there names, before putting it away. "I checked your schedules and it turns out they already picked your instructors."

"Really?" Kelvin asked. "We weren't told that."

"Well you know now," he said. "Follow me, I have feeling where one of them is."

They started walking towards the elevator before Neoma stops.

She saw empty duel field and inside was a woman with brown hair and blue eyes wearing a green top with shorts and white leggings, dancing around what seemed to be-what was it called?-ans action field.

"Hey kid!" She snapped back into reality when she heard the man, who was already at the elevator with Kelvin. "You coming?"

She rushed over to the elevator.

I'm going to end the chapter here so you can read it now and not in who knows how long, so this chapter will be split in two.

So Kelvin addresses how Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Solana (the main protagonist of my book) have the same eye color (but reversed) but that part wasn't intentional. Before I actually knew there were Yugioh series outside of DM me and my sister were Girl Scouts and our mom dropped us off for practice for something but it turned out that it was my sister's grade only. But my mom still left me there any way. I was bored so I decided to draw something and I drew Solana and my logic was that since she had a red scar across her eye that it should be red so yeah:)

And I am sure a lot of people will be sad/mad that Yugi is dead in this fic I am sorry :(

So when the summary said that they sent two of their own to the reality of Arc-V I may have lied a bit :)

If you have questions comments concerns please review.

Have a nice day! :D
