MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
It's that time of year again, where families spend the day together, kids opening presents and running amok like they have had WAY too much sugar in them, Christmas dinner being laid out with the turkey, eggnog, roast beef, Christmas gravy, you name it.
I figured I would give all of my amazing readers a Christmas gift by posting a chapter for eleven of my stories, eleven that i will be putting my focus on until they are completed. I will get back to the remaining six after the chosen eleven are completed. The eleven stories that I am going to be focusing on are as follows;
The Descendant of Revan: The Clone Wars
The Bladewolf of Destruction 2
Marvel's Spawn
High School DxD: The Dragon God of Destruction
Hell's Worst Nightmare
Hell's Hellhound Prince
Heart of a Dragon
Fairy Tail: The Titan-Slayer
Fairy Tail's Demon Hunter
An Avenging Hellspawn
A Hellspawn's Justice.
I know some of you probably wanted Son of Thor on that list, but I am doing my best with that. But for now, these are the eleven I'm focusing on just now. I'm going to try and make at least ten before posting one, that way there is a daily update. And once the ten are posted, I'll work on the next ten after a little break.
Hope you all enjoy your Christmas Day with your families.
Answers to reviews:
Rex: I haven't read the Rulers of Earth comics, so I wouldn't know about that. As for Wendy, she'll probably be a little sister figure.
Perseus12: You'll just have to wait and see.
Disclaimer: I do not own Godzilla or Fairy Tail. I only own the OC Gojira Serizawa.
It had been a couple of days since Gojira and Lucy came to Fairy Tail and ended up joining, and since then it had been the best decision on both their parts. Innjust a couple of days, they felt like they had found a place to call home. Their fellow guildmates were fun to be around, although Lucy still believed there was a couple of screws loose with some of them especially Natsu and Gray but Gojira didn't share the same opinion. The place looked fun.
Now if only Natsu would stop challenging him to a fight, which he has been doing since he explained what he was and what he could do, although Natsu has yet to see his strength and power for himself, and so always denied a fight with Natsu.
But other than that, the place was fun to be at. Of course, Gojira and Lucy had to find places of their own to stay at, though Gojira had no problem sleeping in the canal. Sleeping underwater was a thing for him considering Godzilla did the same, and the big guy was sealed inside him. Plus he was always in his Titan form to sleep underwater. it was only until he found a place of his own, as he didn't want to burden Lucy by staying with her when she had to get her own place sorted out.
Today, Gojira walked into the guild hall, eager to take a job and start earning some pay for him to get started on searching for a hous eof his own. And if that doesn't work, he'll build his own place and use the money for essentials.
Cana, who was at the bar as always, raised her tankard to him. "Hey Goji!" She threw a wink his way.
Ignoring his cheeks heating up as the heaviest drinker made a show of crossing her legs, Gojira nodded at her. "Morning Cana."
"Going to take a job today?" Cana asked curiously, watching as he went to the request board.
"Yeah..." Gojira nodded, distracted as he looked at each of them. 'Hmm, monsters plaguing a nearby village for 20,000? Not bad. Oh, what's this...' His attention shifted to another job that caught his eye.
It was in the town of Freesia, which was being hounded by thugs who took from the residents of the town in return for sparing their lives. The bandits were known as the Devon Bandit Gang, and they've been a group of trouble that needed to be dealt with. The reward was... 600,000 jewels?!
Gojira whistled. "They must be in some real trouble to offer that much." Nodding, Gojira took the job and walked over to where Makarov was sitting. "Hey, I'm taking this job."
"Hmm?" Makarov looked at the paper. "Ah, the Devon Bandit Gang. I've heard of them. Been stirring up some trouble wherever they go, and I heard Freesia has been getting hit hard these past two weeks. The job came in not long ago, actually."
"I'm taking it. Those people don't deserve to give their livelihoods away to scum." Gojira said with steel in his voice before he turned and departed the guildhall.
Cana whistled. "Big boy's going to kick somebody's ass." She chuckled, taking a sip of her drink.
"Freesia is a five days walk, though." Mirajane said from where she stood behind the bar, cleaning an empty tankard, a small, concerned frown on her face. "And the Devon Bandit Gang aren't exactly merciful to anyone who crosses them."
Cana snorted, looking at Mirajane. "Mira, you do remember Gojira destroyed, like, half of Hargeon port, right? You think a gang is going to be much trouble for him?"
"They just might." Mirajane retorted.
"Have faith in him, both of you." Makarov commented from where he sat, drawing the ladies' attention. "Gojira is something not quite seen for a long time. And I know, deep in my heart and soul, he will have no trouble against his enemies unless he's up against one that equals him."
"Well, Natsu's been wanting to fight him." Cana said.
Mirajane giggled. "And gets shot down every time." She added.
The doors were then shoved open. "GOJIRA! FIGHT ME!"
Speak of the Dragon-Slayer and he shall appear.
Lucy walked past the pink-haired Dragon-Slayer, shaking her head at Natsu, before making her way over to the bar and frowned as she noticed a certain someone was not here. "Where's Goji?"
"Off on a job. You just missed him." Mirajane said.
"Oh. I was hoping we'd get to do one together." Lucy sighed, sitting down beside Cana, who grinned as she saw an oppertunoty to tease the blonde.
"Oh? So you wanted to be out there, alone, where nobody can disturb you two from getting... nasty with each other?" She asked, chuckling as Lucy blushed, realizing what she was insinuating.
"W-What?! No! No! Nothing like that!" The blonde Celestial Mage quickly shook her head. "I mean... um... I-!"
"I'm just messing with you, Luce." Cana patted her shoulder, then smirked. "But I can see why you'd want to ride that stud."
"CANA!"
Gojira paused halfway out of Magnolia, frowning. "I feel like there's talk about me that will make me flustered."
"Your future mates are probably the cause of it." Godzilla chuckled.
Gojira groaned. "Will you stop?! I just met those girls! It's not like that!"
"Yet."
"Ugh, I hate you."
With that, he continued on his way.
Freesia, a quaint town located in the eastern part of Fiore nestled between lush farmlands and bordered by a mountain range to the west lay peacefully. Known for its rich soil and agriculture the town had thrived for generations cultivating food crops that supported much of the region. At its heart stood the crown jewel of the community: a majestic cathedral. Constructed of polished stone with breathtaking stained-glass windows and a towering steeple, the historic church rivaled even Magnolia's famed Kardia Cathedral in beauty.
Lining the cobbled streets vendors sold an array of goods from fresh produce to handcrafted items. The tranquil scene was abruptly shattered by a gang of at least thirty men storming through the streets. These thugs, clad in brown and tan garb with hoods, donned mismatched leather armor and wielded medieval weapons—swords, axes and maces. Without mercy they extorted the vendors and citizens alike, demanding all valuables in sight.
"Dues! Hand over your dues now!" one shouted menacingly.
"Lord Devon demands your payments!" echoed another as the gang made their way through the town, enforcing their twisted "tax collection."
One figure stood out—tall, broad-shouldered and armored in knight-like gear with black feathers sprouting from his helmet. Standing a daunting six-foot-three the man had a bushy black mustache and a deep scar running across his left eye. In his hand he clutched a staff topped with a blue crystal orb, decorated with a golden cross. This was Devon, the gang's ruthless leader.
"Money, money, money…" Devon muttered greedily while chewing on the end of a wheat straw as his eyes glinted with greed. "Jewels, gold, silver… I'll take it all."
A thug approached him, reporting their plunder. "Lord Devon, we've gathered over 100,000 Jewels so far."
Devon scowled, clearly dissatisfied. "Not enough. Keep going! If anyone resists, make an example out of them."
"Yes sir!" the thug responded before rushing off to relay the message.
Devon sneered as he admired his stolen staff. "With this Rune Knight gear, this town is helpless. I'll squeeze out every last cent out of these fools." he thought.
Freesia, a peaceful farming town without the protection of a magical guild or a large force of Rune Knights, was completely at the mercy of the Devon Bandit Gang. After ambushing the town's few stationed knights and locking them away, the bandits had taken control of their weapons and armor. The once-idyllic town had been reduced to living under daily extortion, forced to give up their hard-earned money for "protection" against fictitious threats. With no other options and fear for their lives, the townspeople had little choice but to comply with the gang's demands.
In the nearby courtyard, a teenage girl made her entrance. She had striking porcelain skin and dark purple hair tied neatly into a ponytail with sharp hazel eyes observing the chaos around her. Dressed in a purple kimono with white wind blade-shaped accents, a pink ribbon cinched at her slim waist and a violet skirt falling just above her knees. Kagura Mikazuchi walked calmly with her hand hovering near the hilt of the katana strapped to her side. She took in the sight of the bandits extorting the innocent townspeople with a deep frown of disapproval.
"Disgraceful. How can thugs like them act so freely?" The injustice made her blood boil, bringing up dark memories from her past. Memories that had become the driving force for why she became the warrior she is now.
"Well, well… what do we have here?" A rough voice interrupted her thoughts. Kagura turned her gaze to see one of the armored thugs sizing her up with a disgusting grin. His eyes roved over her, clearly full of lecherous intent. "What's a pretty young thing like you doing in a place like this?"
Kagura's expression remained unbothered. "That is none of your concern."
The thug's sneer grew wider as he leaned in, lowering his voice in a slimy tone. "Come now, don't be so cold. Tell you what gorgeous, I'll waive your dues if you agree to spend some quality time with me." His grin widened as he waggled his eyebrows suggestively.
Kagura's eyes narrowed, her anger simmering just beneath the surface. "I'd sooner die than spend a single moment with a disgusting worm like you."
The thug's smile twisted into a scowl as he hefted his mace threateningly. "Hey! Who the hell do you think you're talking to—"
CHING! CHING! CHING!
Before he could finish, his armor fell apart in clean slices, clattering to the ground. The thug's eyes rolled back as he collapsed unconscious face-first onto the stone pavement.
Kagura, holding her now unsheathed katana, didn't even spare him a glance as she calmly sheathed her blade.
"HEY! What's happening over there!?"
"Rosh just went down!"
"Quick! Surround her!"
Within moments over a dozen bandits were rushing toward her with weapons drawn, surrounding her on all sides. The villagers hurriedly backed away, keeping as much distance as possible from the impending confrontation.
Kagura surveyed the men, her sharp eyes flicking from one thug to the next. Something about their attire and weapons caught her attention. "Wait… These aren't ordinary bandits. Their gear… It's from the Rune Knights. How did they manage to get their hands on it?"
"Who do you think you are?"
"You realize who you're messing with, girl?"
The thugs tried to intimidate her, brandishing their stolen weapons. But Kagura remained unfazed, her voice steady and cool. "I see a group of talentless degenerates who somehow got ahold of equipment far beyond their abilities."
One of the bandits, his face flushed with anger, growled and raised his sword. "That's it! Kill her!"
With loud battle cries, the men surged forward, weapons raised. Kagura's eyes sharpened as she shouted,"Gravity Change! 1.5 X!"
The charging bandits stumbled and buckled under the increased weight, many dropping to their knees in confusion.
"W-What's going on?!"
"My armor's…heavier!"
"That girl's a wizard!" one of them began but his sentence was abruptly cut off.
Using their moment of confusion Kagura moved swiftly with her katana flashing as she darted through the group with surgical precision. To the untrained eye, it seemed like she was a blur—appearing in front of one bandit and disappearing before another could even react.
Cries of pain echoed through the streets as bandits collapsed under the weight of their own armor and the sting of Kagura's strikes. The watching townspeople held their breath, their eyes wide with awe. Was this lone swordswoman about to defeat the entire gang?
Kagura's figure reappeared just outside the group of thugs. With a fluid motion she sheathed her katana, the blade clicking into place. The moment that sound reached the crowd's ears the bandits fell like dominoes, unconscious and their weapons shattered to pieces.
The silence lasted only a second before the townspeople erupted into applause and cheers.
Kagura ignored the praise, casting a glance at the fallen men. "Pitiful. These fools don't know the first thing about swordsmanship. They rely only on their stolen gear and brute force."
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of more metal boots clanging against the stone streets. She turned to see another wave of bandits—at least two dozen—pouring into the courtyard, surrounding her once more. The townspeople's cheers faltered, replaced by worried murmurs.
Kagura's face remained calm and poised as she reached for her katana. "I'll give you one chance. Drop your weapons and surrender or I will strike you down." Her voice was strong, steady—enough to make some of the bandits hesitate.
Sensing their fear, Kagura began her incantation again. "Gravity Change! 1.5—"
But before she could finish, she felt a strange sensation, her magic abruptly fading as her feet lifted off the ground. "What…?" Kagura looked down and saw the glowing blue runes beneath her— a capture seal, designed to neutralize a wizard's power.
Her eyes narrowed in realization. "A Rune Knight capture seal!"
A menacing chuckle echoed from behind her. Kagura turned to see the smirking figure of Devon, the leader of the bandits, sauntering toward her, his staff held high. The lacrima at the top glowed ominously. "Surprise, surprise. Looks like we've got ourselves a guild wizard."
Devon sneered, his gaze flickering to the townspeople hiding at the edge of the courtyard. "Did these peasants hire you to save them, huh? Guess we'll just have to take more from them for this little inconvenience."
The townspeople cowered in fear, their hope momentarily dashed as Devon's greed-filled laugh rang through the square. "Jewels, gold, silver—gems! I want it all! And you've just given me more reason to take everything!"
Kagura struggled against the magic seal, her teeth clenched as she glared daggers at Devon. "Enough!" Her voice rang with defiance. "No one in this town hired me. I was simply passing through."
Devon scoffed, clearly unconvinced by her words. His eyes fell on Kagura's katana, gleaming at her waist. Smirking, he activated a feature on his Rune Knight staff telekinetically disarming Kagura. The katana levitated out of her grip and into Devon's open hand.
"I may not be the sharpest blade, but I ain't the dullest either," Devon sneered before unsheathing the blade and discarding the wooden sheath carelessly to the side, much to Kagura's irritation. "Nice sword."
Without hesitation, Devon slammed the broadside of the katana against the cobblestone street, using his brute strength to shatter the blade all the way down to the hilt.
"Bastard!" Kagura seethed, fury blazing in her eyes. That katana had been recently crafted for her and now it lay in ruins at this brute's feet.
Devon chuckled darkly at her reaction. "Now, let's cut the act missy. Start talking. What guild are you from? Who sent you? And most importantly—how much are they paying you?" His eyes narrowed, greed oozing from his tone. "I need to know."
Kagura's lips curled in disgust, but she remained calm. "I am a member of Mermaid Heel and I've already told you—no one hired me. I was passing through."
Devon's sneer deepened, clearly unsatisfied with her response. Just as he was about to give his men orders to target the innocent townsfolk...
"Let them go." A voice called, stern and authoritative with a growl in the undertone.
Devon, his gang and Kagura looked to see a lean, muscular young man of seventeen years old with a slightly tan skin tone. His hair was black and spiky with blue tips on the ends, golden-yellow eyes, and especially sharp teeth. He wore a long, hooded black coat with light neon blue serpentine patterns and three separated coattails with slightly tattered edges. Underneath, he wore a sleeveless top that hugged his lean, muscular chest. For legwear, he wore a pair of black baggy pants and black steel-toed boots.
Gojira surveyed the scene before him, and came to one conclusion as he looked at the Devon Bandit Gang; he was profoundly unimpressed.
Devon blinked then smirked. "Did you just tell us to let them go?"
Gojira's eyes narrowed. "I won't ask for a second time."
Instead of being intimidated, the gang just laughed mockingly before Devon waved at Gojira. "Tie him up."
"Yes Lord Devon! You!" The nearest bandit pointed a broadsword at Gojira and ordered. "Hands in the air!"
Gojira just stared blankly at him, enraging the bandit who stormed towards him.
"I said hands in-" The bandits's eyes when Gojira transformed into his Titan form, and the bandit gulped as he stared into those animalistic golden-yellow eyes before he was tail smacked into some of his friends, toppling them like bowling pins.
"What the hell is this guy?!" A bandit shouted in surprise.
"Some kind of Take-Over?" Another suggested.
"I ain't seen a Take-Over like that!"
Devon spat out his wheat straw and glared at Gojira. "So, you brought backup, eh?" he snarled, directing a glance at Kagura. "Should've known. You wizards are nothing but meddling parasites, same as tax collectors."
Kagura meanwhile was watching in stunned amazement. "A Take-Over wizard? But what is this form?" She wondered.
Devon sneered while raising his Rune Knight staff. "No matter. I've got a way to deal with nuisances like you." He slammed the staff onto the ground, a blue magic-nullifying seal appearing beneath Gojira.
Kagura's eyes widened in panic. "No! You there, watch out!" she shouted in warning.
But it was too late. The magic-nullifying seal spread out under Gojira's feet. Devon's smirk widened, confident the Take-Over wizard would revert to his human form any second now.
Gojira growled, and his flashed. "Nuclear Pulse!" he shouted, and a shockwave of energy shot from his body, knocking several of Devon's thugs off their feet and to the ground. It also destroyed the seal before it could've done anything to him.
"What?!" Devon's eyes widened.
Gojira smirked at him. "You messed with the wrong Alpha Predator, dickhead. Was that your best shot, though? Now let me show you mine." He raised his tail up and brought it down on the ground hard, shaking the very ground which made everyone stumble and struggle to stay on their feet, but Gojira kicked up a rock out of the ground and sent it flying at the bandits with a tail smack.
"Ahh!" Devon screamed and jumped out the way, letting one of his men take the hit instead. "What are you?!"
"I am a Fairy Tail wizard." Gojira said proudly, his claws clenched into fists. "And I'm here to stop your oppression over these people."
Kagura blinked. 'He's from Fairy Tail?'
With his focus off her, the capture spell on Kagura wore off, letting her land on her feet. She stood still, watching as Gojira pounced on the bandits and began to take them out with ease while using his fists and tail.
Seeing how his gang was being taken out, Devon tried to make a run for it, much to Gojira's amusement as his spines started to glow blue much to Kagura's confusion.
VVVVVVVVWWWWWWUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM
"I live for the simple things..."
VVVVVVVVWWWWWWUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM
"Like how much this is going to hurt."
VVVVVVVVWWWWWWUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM
"ATOMIC BREATH!"
KRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!
The Titan-Slayer unleashed a massive beam of blue, flaming, magical energy from his mouth and it went straight towards Devon, who yelled as he was struck in the back, sending him flying off his feet and crashing into a heap, unconscious with smoke drifting off his body.
Gojira chuckled. "Yeah, writhe, little man."
The townspeople who had once frozen in fear now erupted into applause and cheers as their voices filled the courtyard. Gojira was momentarily surprised by the outpouring of appreciation, finding himself a little flustered at the praise. He wasn't used to being praised really, unless it was Godzilla.
Kagura continued to stare in quiet awe. "He's… strong." she thought.
Later, the Devon Bandit Gang were put in chains by Rune Knights and taken away, with Gojira watching from a little ways away, his arms crossed. He was back in human form now, smirking a little as he heard the groans of pain from the gang, especially from Devon after being shot with a low-powered beam of the Atomic Breath. Had Gojira went for a full power... well, Devon would've had a burning hole through his chest and back.
Gojira's attention shifted as the mayor, along with that girl Kagura, approached.
"I can't thank you wizards enough for your help." the mayor bowed deeply in gratitude. He was a well-built man in his middle years with graying hair and an earnest face. "You saved this town from those bandits."
Gojira shrugged. "Just doing what the job requested."
"I don't deserve any praise." Kagura cut in while turning slightly away with her tone somber.
Gojira raised a brow at her. 'Why would she think that?'
"Not true," the mayor insisted, his tone gentle yet firm. "The fact that you stood up to those hoodlums is worthy of praise on its own. You even took down some of them. Though…" He paused as curiosity filled in his eyes. "Were either of you the Fairy Tail wizard who accepted my job request to deal with the bandits?"
"I am." Gojira said.
"I'm from Mermaid Heel." Kagura said, piquing Gojira's interest. "I was only passing through on my way to train in the mountains."
"I saw the job on the request board, saw people needed help and wanted to give them that help." Gojira said lightly. "The payment wasn't really on my mind, just helping people was enough for me."
Kagura blinked, surprised at his words. 'He doesn't care about the reward, he just wanted to help people?'
"Well, intentions or not, allow me to repay you both for this kindness." The mayor said.
Gojira waved his hand dismissively. "Nah you don't need to repay me."
"Nor I." Kagura added quickly. She turned away while gripping the hilt of her broken katana tightly, her voice laced with guilt. "I became careless and was captured. I don't deserve a reward."
Gojira glanced at her, a bit surprised by her self-criticism. "Hey, don't be too hard on yourself." he stepped closer to her. "It's not like you could've known they had that magic-canceling spell."
'Yet you shrugged it off somehow.' Kagura glanced at him. 'Just what kind of Take-Over are you?'
The mayor, persistent in his gratitude, pleaded once more. "Please, there must be something I can do for you. Those men made life difficult for us these past few days."
Seeing that the mayor wasn't going to give up on this, Gojira sighed and was about to say something when his eyes caught onto Kagura's broken sword and he hummed as he thought of something.
"Split the reward." he said, drawing Kagura and the mayor's attention.
"What?" The wizard from Mermaid Heel said in surprise.
"You put up a 600,000 reward. Give 300,000 to her so she can buy herself a new sword and I'll take the other 300,000." Gojira stated. "Her sword needs replaced"
Kagura's eyes widened slightly in surprise. "What? Why would he…"
The mayor's face lit up. "Ah! Yes I can certainly arrange that! Please wait here for just a moment while I retrieve the funds." Without waiting for a response, he hurried off toward his office.
"Wait! W-wait!" Kagura called after him, but the mayor was gone which left her and Gojira alone. Kagura turned to him. "Why did you do that?"
Gojira looked at her. "No warrior should be without her sword. You did what you could to help those people, so you shouldn't go unrewarded. With the half of the money you will be given, you will be able to buy a sword to replace the one that broke. Think of it as a gift."
Kagura's eyes widened slightly, surprised by his generosity. "That is… quite generous of you." she admitted, clearly taken aback. "Especially to someone you don't know."
Gojira tilted his head, then nodded as he realized that. "Let's rectify that. Gojira Serizawa. Wizard of Fairy Tail." He stuck his hand out.
Kagura shook it, a small smile forming on her lips. "Kagura Mikazuchi. Wizard of Mermaid Heel. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Thank you for your help, Gojira Serizawa. If it wasn't for you, those people would've been hurt."
"Don't put yourself down. I can tell, just from how you hold yourself, that you are a capable fighter yourself." Gojira said, not wanting to take all of the praise.
Kagura lowered her head. "And yet I was so... weak and defenceless." She clenched her hands around the broken sword.
"What is it that you do?" Gojira asked curiously. "Must be something if you are going to the mountains just to train."
Kagura nodded, her expression growing more serious. "Yes. I often go there to train my swordsmanship and Gravity Magic without the risk of causing property damage."
"Property damage… smart move." Gojira recalled the damage he caused in Hargeon and grimaced. Not one of his best moments. "Training far away from people… probably a good idea for me too."
His curiosity piqued, Gojira asked, "So, Gravity Magic? Does it tie into your sword somehow?"
Kagura shook her head. "No. My magic allows me to manipulate gravity itself—on myself, others, or even objects."
"Now that sounds interesting." Gojira commented.
"What about you?" Kagura asked curiously. "What was that Take-Over that you did?"
"Have you ever heard of the Titans?" Gojira asked seriously, his arms crossed.
Kagura frowned. "The mythical monsters told about in stories and legends? Yes. Why?"
"I have one sealed inside me." Gojira revealed, causing Kagura's eyes to widen. "The Alpha Predator and King himself, Godzilla. What you saw was part of my power as a Titan-Slayer."
"Like a Dragon-Slayer?" Kagura asked.
Gojira shifted his hand. "Eh, kinda, I guess. I hold great power and strength that I can only access when in that form you saw."
"That's… impressive." Kagura said quietly. She glanced down at the broken hilt of her katana, her brow furrowing. 'He's so much stronger than I am and yet…' Her grip tightened. 'I'm still weak…'
Noticing her troubled expression Gojira leaned closer, concern in his voice. "Hey what's wrong?"
Kagura hesitated for a moment before sighing deeply. "I apologize… I'm just realizing how weak I still am."
"Weak?" Gojira raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled. "What are you talking about? You're not weak, you're–"
"I am." Kagura interrupted firmly. "You took out those men with ease and wielded incredible power to defeat Devon. And I didn't stand a chance." She sighed heavily, holding up the broken hilt of her katana. "And my swordsmanship… it's average at best. When I hear stories of Fairy Tail's Titania and how gifted she is with a blade, I'm reminded of how far behind I really am."
Gojira stared at her, seeing how this was hitting her hard. He put a hand on her shoulder, drawing her attention to see his soft, warm smile. "Keep training." he stressed the words to her. "Everyone has the potential to get stronger than when they started out, they just have to put their minds to it and have a goal of determination. I wasn't as strong as you saw me, and I am still growing stronger. With more training, I can see that you will become a fierce warrior yourself, your magic stronger."
Kagura stared at him, feeling his words take root inside her. He was right. She did have a goal, to find her brother. it was why she wanted to train so hard, so she could go and find him. he was telling her to keep at it, to keep pushing herself, test her limits, and only through doing such will her power grow as well as her swordsmanship skills.
She searched his expression for any sign of deception but found none. He meant every word. A small soft smile tugged at Kagura's lips. "T-thank you." she whispered as a faint blush started rising on her cheeks. "Your words are a great help, Gojira. For I push myself in order to find my brother."
Gojira blinked at that but didn't breach the subject as he saw sadness in her eyes when mentioning her brother. He gave her a nod. "Then work hard, train hard. Keep testing your limits. Only through such training will you grow in skill and power and become a warrior with a reputation to rival Titania."
Kagura smiled at him. "Thank you, Gojira. Thank you."
He nodded, staring at her for a moment, getting lost in admiring her beauty before he shook himself out of it only for something in one of the shop windows to catch his eye. "Wait here. I'll be back in a few minutes."
"Huh?" Kagura blinked, but Gojira was already walking away towards the shop, entered it, made a quick purchase and came back out with a brown bag in hand. Walking back over to Kagura, he handed it to her. "What's this?"
"Open it and find out." Gojira smirked.
Reluctantly Kagura opened the bag and pulled out the item inside—a simple white headband with a white ribbon tied neatly at the top. She blinked at the sight.
"Go ahead, try it on." Gojira encouraged.
Kagura was a little hesitant but curious, so she slipped the headband onto her head. As she turned to examine herself in the reflection of the fountain's water, her eyes widened slightly. The headband was…cute. Not in an overly girly way, but it added a softer touch to her look.
"I noticed it from the stall across the street," Gojira explained, his smile broadening at her new look. "I thought it would look good on you. It really suits your style."
Kagura wasn't one to focus much on appearance or fashion, but she had to admit that the headband was a nice touch. She wasn't used to these kinds of gestures, but it made her smile—something that caught Gojira's attention.
"See? Your smile is really nice." Gojira said almost absentmindedly.
Kagura froze as her cheeks were now turning a deep crimson. "W-what?" She stammered, feeling embarrassed.
Where had that come from?!
Gojira was completely unfazed and shrugged casually. "I said your smile looks nice."
"T-that's not— I mean—" Kagura struggled to find words as she was utterly flustered.
Since reaching puberty, Kagura had grown accustomed to receiving comments on her appearance. Men often described her as hot, gorgeous or her least favorite... babe. With her well-developed feminine figure, she understood why they focused on her looks though it left her feeling objectified. Yet amidst all the attention on her physical attributes no one had ever mentioned anything about her smile. Then again she supposed that was likely because she didn't smile very often—if at all.
"Apologies for the wait!" the mayor called out as he returned, holding two envelopes in his hands. Kagura let out a small sigh of relief, using the brief moment to recompose herself as he approached.
Gojira and Kagura stood from their seats by the fountain as the mayor handed the envelope to Kagura. "Here you are, miss. This should cover the cost of your sword and a little extra for your troubles."
Kagura stared at the envelope with uncertainty written across her face. "I… I don't…" She hesitated, feeling conflicted about accepting the reward.
"Just accept it." Gojira said with a small smirk. "You can buy yourself a new sword. It'll help with your training and your goal."
Kagura considered Gojira's words, finding merit in them. He made a solid point—having a better weapon could improve her chances in the future, especially in her quest to find her brother. She let out a deep sigh and finally accepted the envelope while nodding respectfully at the mayor. "Thank you sir."
The mayor offered a warm smile and a nod in return. "Of course. Thank you both again for your help. You're welcome in Freesia anytime."
With that, the mayor left and Gojira was ready to part ways with Kagura as he tucked his envelope of 300,000 jewels away into his coat. "Well, I guess I better go. I'll see you around."
"Wait." Kagura stopped him, then caught him completely off guard by giving him a quick kiss to the cheek, making his cheeks redden as her own were dark red. "T-That's for... everything. If you're ever in Peony, come visit Mermaid Heel. I'd like to spar with you, one day."
Gojira nodded dumbly, making Kagura nearly giggle but she held back the urge and instead smiled softly at him before walking away, leaving Gojira to stare after her.
"Well, that was something." Godzilla commented, finally speaking after so long.
Gojira snapped out of his funk and scowled mentally. "Shut up you. It was just a kiss of thanks!"
"For now. She may be one of your future mates."
"Oh for the love of... I am not arguing about this with you again!"
Gojira walked away, whilst still arguing with his father which drew some concerned looks from the townpeople but they were ignored.
And that's it for this chapter, people. Let me know what you think in the reviews, please.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas day! And once more... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!
