Chapter Two: The First Bust

The three Ed boys stood at Ed's front door, Proton Packs and Photon Guns at the ready. Eddy gulped nervously, Double D shook in his shoes, and Ed wore his signature goofy grin. "Soooo," Eddy began with a weak chuckle. "Who wants to go in first?" he asked. The other two Ed's backed up. Eddy grunted. "Figures," he said as he opened the front door. "Alright boys, now we gotta-" Eddy began but stopped hearing no footsteps. Turning to the other's he frowned. Double D still shook in fear while Ed smiled. "Come on! This was your idea sock head! So, you gotta come with me!" he said grabbing Double D and throwing him in front of the group. "Ed!" Eddy yelled and Ed smiled.

"On the bacon Eddy!" Ed chuckled running ahead of them. Double D scratched at his hat and sighed.

"Ed, was that English?" he asked concerned.

"No time now!" Eddy said running to keep up with Ed. As he ran, Double D gulped, readied his Photon Gun and sighed. It was time to be heroes. Even if he now wished otherwise. As he caught up with the group, they noticed Ed's fridge. It was open all the way and worst of all! It was empty.

"No food for Ed?" Ed gasped. "ED NEEDS FOOD!" he cried.

"Ed! Calm down," Double D replied putting a hand on Ed's shoulder. "We're gonna catch this ghost, and then we're going to provide you with more food!" he said hoping it would cheer, Ed up.

"Food for Ed Double D?" Ed asked hopeful. Double D nodded with a smile. As they walked Double D heard a growl and gasped. He coughed earning Eddy and Ed's attention. Double D pointed towards the basement and nodded. As they carefully snuck down the stair, they heard the sounds of growling and munching. Eddy shook now. He had no idea what to expect. Was this a ghost that would eat them? Was this an evil ghost? Was it-

Upon entering Ed's room, they saw it. A green blob with yellow eyes and stubby arms. It was devouring Ed's week-old buttered toast. "My toast!" Ed said angrily. Before he could go after the spirit, Double D held him back. "No Ed," Double D began. "We gotta do this carefully, otherwise we could do serious damage to the house!" he explained. Ed, for once, nodded in understanding, however there was not time to let this sink in.

Double D began a count down. The minute he reached zero he turned on the Proton Pack. The ghost stopped and turned to look at them in anger. "Blast him!" Eddy yelled and the Ed's fired their Photon Guns. The ghost gasped and tried to fly away. The wall ended up getting scorched. Eddy in anger, ran up to the ghost and blasted it head on. The ghost was stuck in the beam trying desperately to get away. "Throw the trap!" Double D yelled.

Ed, understanding, threw the trap under the ghost. Ed then pressed the button on the trap with his foot. "Don't look at the trap!" Double D informed. As they turned, the ghost was pulled right in. The trap closed and after a solid minute, a green light flashed indicating that the ghost was indeed trapped. "We did it!" Double D shouted. "It actually worked."

Eddy smiled. "We got it. So... where are we gonna put this thing?" he asked. Double D facepalmed. "You seriously don't know?" Eddy asked in shock.

"I was too eager to catch them that I forgot we need a place to put them." Eddy sighed and gave a thumbs up. Before they could go however-

"I forgot one important thing," Double D began. Eddy raised an eyebrow. "We must never, under any circumstances, cross the streams." Upon seeing a confused look Double D sighed again. "If we do, well... imagine an explosion that'll vaporize us in less than a minute."

Eddy gasped in shock. "So, what you're saying, is that if we cross the streams, we could end up dead?" he deadpanned. Double D nodded. "Well, at least we're providing a real service. I bet ya anything, when we officially start our business, we'll get plenty of calls and many people to help! I think we started a very good business!" The other Ed's nodded with a smile. This was, indeed, a start to a wonderful career.
