Nick's phone pinged with a very specific tone letting him know who was messaging him. He quickly picked up his phone to find a message from Judy, a smile crossing his muzzle as he unlocked his phone to reply. Walking towards his door and gently leaning against it as he replied.
J: Hey, Slick. You busy? Seeing Glenda tonight?
N: Nah. I kicked that cheating beast to the curb last week. Same day you left for the burrow, actually.
J: Damn. I thought she might be the one. I mean, she lasted, what… 3 months?
N: 4. Glad I never fucked her though. Got off early. Figured I'd surprise her with a meal. Went to her place. Groceries in paw. Saw through the window. Was fucking some thug wolf from the Weller crew. She noticed me just as he was knotting her. Damn… She was pretty though.
J: Oh hell no! That skanky whore! Want me to kick their tails?
N: Nah. As much fun as that'd be to watch. Don't need you getting in trouble for me. Dumped her tail.
J: So, single again?
N: yeah… Met a nice springbok at the bar that night, but she was literally flighty. Skittish to the point of absurdity. Bolted three times while we were just talking.
N: you?
J: Oh gods… if I'm gonna talk about that, I'm Gonna need a drink. Mind if I come over?
N: My door is always open to you. But aren't you at the burrow? A wedding?
J: Sister. Nina. That was monday of last week. The past five days have included no less than three blind dates a day. Several were sibs taking me to town only to surprise meet some rando buck. It's like mom isn't even trying. Snuck out early this morning. So, just open the door already.
N: how presumptuous. Assuming I'm home.
J: /eyeroll rabbit emoji/ Seriously Slick?
Nick chuckled as he opened the door he'd been leaning against and looked down at the gray rabbit in her purple plaid farmgirl shirt and jeans who had clearly been leaning against the wall next to the door. His apartment being an end corner unit.
Nick wasn't sure what it was about her, but he always had a reaction to her. Heart rate would kick up slightly, his nose would flare a bit as he took in her scent. A scent that was at once exciting, reassuring, and relaxing. A reaction he'd finally put a name on, and was why, no matter how hard he tried, he could never fully click with a vixen, or any female for that matter. And he had tried a number of species, on her recommendation even. He's met a badger, and they were still friends, but never had chemistry outside of that. At least a dozen vixens of various fox species, five tods, three wolves, an otter, and a few deer.
They were generally nice, and even had some great sex, a few still on his speed-dial for a booty call. All except for Glenda, but she was a special case and there was never anything there. He understood now why he never felt even a hint of true desire, let alone even the beginnings of imprinting for any of them. Yeah, they were sexy in their various own rights, and that could get him going when needed, but it was never more than just the physical. No, he knew now he'd never feel anything like that for any male or female except for the one standing in front of him right then.
"Hey, Fluff. Fancy meeting you here."
Judy looked up with an oddly nervous smile and weak chuckle at his poor but expected joke. "Hey, Nick. You're sure I am not stopping you from anything? I can come back later. I just. I didn't want to go back to my place. They'll look for me there."
Giving an honest smile he only ever showed her. "Nope. My plans included popcorn, icecream, and bad movies to drown my failures of the romantic variety. Care to join me? And they'll look for you here too."
Judy smiled weakly. "Well, they do say that misery shared is misery halved. Yes, they will, eventually, but they'll call first."
"Misery does love company." Motioning her inside. Come on in, Fluff. Make yourself at home."
Nick watched her shoulder a bag most mammals much larger than them would find hard to carry. It never ceased to amaze him how strong she was. Closing the door he flinched at the heavy thud sound it made as she dropped it behind the couch and opened it. He did however note that the bag in question could hold pretty much everything he was aware she owned, even the items she kept in storage. This concerned him, but he decided not to bring it up just yet. If he knew her, she'd break and tell him what was going on eventually. He just had to have patience.
"Mind if I shower? I need to scrub this week out of my fur. Something you just cannot do in a communal shower."
"Mi casa es su casa, Fluff. I know you only have a communal at your place too."
"Thanks, Nick. You're a life saver."
He watched her take some items out of the bag and then stop. Her ears fell and she sighed, deeply. "Okay, slick. I…"
He could tell with the lay of her ears, the nervous flick of her tail, that whatever it was, was bad. "What's up, Fluff?"
"I… I got kicked out of my place. Okay, not kicked out so much as the whole palace got condemned. Everyone got a fat check and sent packing. I… I didn't know where else to go. I went home to try and figure it out. Been crashing at the precinct for two weeks. Saving the pay-out for the down on a new place, assuming I could even find one. You know how hard it is to find a place on a cops budget.
I mean… Yeah, I did have the wedding, but with mom and my sisters doing the most trying to get me hooked up with some rando who only wants to claim he dated the Judy Hopps. Well…" Giving a big tired sigh and air quotes. "I…"
Nick smiled warmly and put a paw on her shoulder. "Judy, even if I were with someone right now, you would still be welcome to at least stay for a bit. It isn't as if I don't have the room."
"I don't want to just force myself on you though. I feel like that is what I'm doing. Like I'm taking advantage of you."
"Maybe, but that's okay, because I want you to. If you want, we can discuss some sort of rent, or covering a bill or two as your portion. Until you either find a place, or you want to simply stay. You are welcome either way."
Judy deflated a little. "Thanks, Nick." She then went back to pulling out some fresh clothes from her bag.
Nick watched her, and it was clear that this wasn't the only thing. "Okay, Fluff. That is clearly not the only thing. What's going on? What's got a bur in your tail or your ears in a twist?"
Judy chuckled sadly. "Heh… I should have never taught you those phrases."
"Come on, Judy. You can tell me anything."
Judy gave a huge sigh and dropped the clothes she had pulled out on top of the bag. I guess… I guess I should get it all out, all the way out, before I move in."
Seeing the clothes dropped back on top of the bag, Nick shook his head. "Okay. We'll, first. You smell like the farm, and not necessarily in a good way. You were clearly hiding in the bird barn at some point. So before anything. Shower." Grabbing the clothes up, and trying not to think about the fact her panties were against his palm, or just how silky they felt against his paw pad. Let alone what that fact was trying to do to his nether regions. "Everything else can wait until you are feeling, and smelling, clean."
Giving a huff, Judy turned to stare daggers at him. "Are you saying I stink?"
"Under normal circumstances, no." Walking towards the bathroom. "However, this is not normal circumstances. So get that tail in the shower." Setting the clothes on the bathroom counter and motioning her in. "You can toss the soiled clothes in the washer while you are in there."
"Fine!" She huffed as she shuffled past him, mumbling to herself something he was clearly not meant to hear but did. "At least I'll be clean when you kick me out."
Nick watched the closed door for several minutes as he tried to process and figure out what Judy could possibly need to tell him that would have him kicking her out. He simply couldn't think of anything and was shaken from his thoughts as the sound of the shower door closing, the splash of water off a mamma following.
Giving himself a shake, he turned and headed for the kitchen. Some instinct told him she was going to be hungry. Likely hadn't eaten recently. Probably missing a meal or two. He made a quick tossed salad for them to share.
Alfalfa, spinach, wheat grass, diced lemongrass, daikon, fresh timothy hay, green onion, and a bit of cured smoked salmon. Then he pulled out a stove top popcorn and set it on the stove ready to make. He then quickly pulled out a few strawberries and made a quick strawberry lemonade with the bottled stuff he had on hand. It wasn't fresh squeeze, but it was from the Foxenburg orchards. He smiled at the label. Foxenburg Orchards distributed in association with Hopps Family Farms.
As he finished he heard the door to the bathroom open, Judy appearing at the breakfast bar a few seconds later. Nick smiled at her, his smile faltering at the look on her muzzle. She looked scared, cornered, like she was ready to bolt.
Quickly placing A large bowl of salad before her. "Here you go, Fluff. Good bet if you snuck out and had to hide in the bird stalls, you haven't eaten since last night." Holding up a paw to quiet her. "Nope. Not hearing anything until you have eaten. If I'm to kick you out. Well, the condemned deserve a last meal. You'll note the cured and smoked salmon. It's not your usual shrimp or fully smoked salmon. It's lighter. I think you'll like it."
Judy deflated. "You heard that?"
Nick chuckled, flicking his ears. "Not as good as yours, but still better than most. Don't know what you've convinced yourself is so terrible, but I am sure it's not as bad as you think. I mean, it isn't something where I am going to need to call dispatch to have a car pick you up, is it?"
Judy has dug into the salad, but stopped, doing an X with her arms. Finishing chewing and swallowing. "No! Nothing like that!"
"Good. Than unless it is compliments on the salad." Setting a glass of the lemonade on the bar for her. "I don't wanna hear you until you're done."
Judy smiled and rolled her eyes. "Salad is amazing, as always. The salmon is the perfect addition. Just the right amount of salt, and it's really delicate."
"Glad to hear it. Now finish your salad. I'll make popcorn after." Nick sat next to her and started in on his own portion of salad.
They ate in silence until Judy was nearly done and Nick about half way through his. Judy paused to watch him. "Heh… I forget that foxes are omnivores, and you especially only eating meat on occasion."
Finishing his bite, Nick smiled. "Yeah. Don't get me wrong. I like some fried chicken as much as the next guy, but it's expensive."
"I can only imagine how much this salmon cost then."
Nick chuckled through a bite. "Hook up. Buddy of mine on the docks is looking to get into the smoking and curing business. I've been more of a test subject than anything. Some of his offerings have been… less than edible, at least to me. That said, I saved some of this for when you got back because I knew you'd like it. And it is cured, so it lasts."
Judy smiled up at him and took another bite, piece of salmon prominent. "I really do. It's almost perfect. If anything, it could use a bit of heat. Some cracked pepper, or maybe pepper flakes."
Nick mirrored her bite. "Agreed. I will let him know that. He tracks the batches, so I just have to tell him which base batch it was, and then my suggestions or comments. Like… Never make this again, and burn any that you may still have before you are arrested for terrorism." This got a chuckle from Judy as she ate. "I'm serious. There was a batch that was that bad. Just the smell…" Shaking his head with a wretch. "Gods, just the thought of it. Anyway… This batch is good as is, so a good base to work with. He should do the same and add some flavors, just bit of heat for a different line."
"Yeah. That would be good. Like it is now for when you're not feeling it, and something more when you are."
"Exactly! Now finish your salad."
They finished up in companionable silence. A return to closer to their usual, though there was still an undercurrent, a tension Nick couldn't put his claw on. Once finished, he cleared up their bowls into the sink for a rinse and then the dishwasher, starting the stove to heat up the popcorn. As he was finishing, the first pops came from the popcorn. He placed the extra large bowl out ready for them, it was a wolf sized popcorn popper after all.
"Okay, Fluff. All fed? Feeling better? The fox is no longer on the menu?"
Judy chuckled, though Nick didn't miss the blush that flashed up her ears before she could drop them to her back. "Har har, Nick. I may eat some meat, but that's for the protein, and you know it. Fox was never on the menu." Mumbling clearly to herself. "At least not like that." Her blush getting strong enough to tinge the thinner fur around her eyes.
"Hmm…: Nick hummed as he focused on the now aggressively popping popcorn, keeping the cooker moving to keep it from burning. Last thing you wanted was burnt popcorn. It would stink up the apartment for weeks. Had learned that the hard way.
As he focused, his mind wandered, letting long practiced familiarity work the popcorn. Given this second statement, Nick had to wonder what it was that was bothering his friend. Could it be what his heart accelerated at hearing that statement wants to think she meant? Hope thrilled through him, which he quickly and viciously stomped down as he pulled the slowing popping cooker off the stove, turned it off, but kept it moving to let the last few kernels that would pop, do so without the chance of burning.
Nick refused to let his heart, or that hope he'd buried deep weeks prior. More than a few months, really. He refused to let it take root or even be acknowledged. He held in a death grip the knowledge of her parents who only barely tolerated him, being a fox. Her presence, and what he suspected were none too subtle threats to treat him well, likely the only reason for that tolerance.
Yet, he knew his own heart. He knew the score. At least he thought he did, and he was not going to let an off-hand comment change anything. Sure, every meal he prepared for her was prepared as an offering, but he knew she would never know that, would never respond to it, and just enjoyed his company as a friend. He knew. Rabbit. Fox. Friends was it. He had come to terms with that.
Sure, he'd occasionally find a mate-of-the-moment, especially in the winter, to scratch a certain itch, but there was never any feelings. That's what really happened with Glenda. They were getting close to the having sex stage, but she caught feelings and he rejected them. He'd been very clear up front. He belonged to someone he couldn't have, and while he could care for someone, they needed to understand that good sex was as far as it was going to go.
It was one of the reasons he dated so few foxes. Foxes, even when they said they understood, and they did. Well, unless they were in the same boat as he was, it would always end like it did with Glenda. Maybe not the cheating, but being broken off when the other side caught feelings he couldn't reciprocate. He did know of one couple that would fit that bill, but unless he had his own actual mate and needed the cover, they were off the table.
Nick split the top of the now fully expanded foil popcorn cooker and poured the wonderfully buttery and salty smelling goodness into the bowl. Smiling as the last few puffs landed on top of the pile, perfect and unburnt as always. Better to have a few unpopped kernels left than scorch some puffs and ruin the entire batch.
Looking up after setting the still hot cooker back on the stove to cool before being disposed of, Nick found Judy watching him, or more precisely his tail that had probably been twitching and swaying to his thoughts. "Okay, Fluff. To the couch!" The bowl was quickly in its spot on the coffee table and he turned on the TV to watch Halloween Wars on HGTV, and the absolutely epic displays some mammals managed in their yards. It made a good background noise, interesting, but as it was last year's episode, they had already seen it.
Giving the now again absolutely nervous to the point of almost bolting, rabbit, Nick frowned. He could smell it. She was terrified, but it wasn't really of him. He knew she wasn't scared of him, and there wasn't any secret in his past that he could think of that would cause this reaction. She knew all the highlights, if not the details. Which meant, whatever it was, it was about her, or about them. Both scared him in turn.
Giving a sigh. "Okay, Judy. Lets get this over with. There is literally nothing I can think of that should be putting you in this state. I know you are not scared of me, but you are terrified of my reaction to… whatever this is." Waving a paw in her direction. "So out with it. Lets just get it over with so we can relax and enjoy the rest of the evening, because again. I cannot think of anything that would warrant this reaction from you, my best friend."
Judy took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Please stop saying that. I know you think it's true, but wait until after I have set off this nuke in the middle of our friendship."
Nick frowned. "Did you do something? Say something?"
Judy flinched. "Do something… Yeah, I guess you could say that. Uhm…" She looked up at him with terror, and a tinge of hope that his statements were in fact true. "IgotbitonthatlastmissionbysomewerecreatureIamexiledfromtheburrowbecauseofitIdontlosemyselfbutIamnotmyselfeithersomekindofmonsertoushybridofrabbitandpredatorandIalsorealizedasIwaswatchingmysistergetmarriedthattherewasonlyonemammalIwouldeverwanttobeuptherewithwhichwaswhyIcouldneverconnectotherthanaonenightstandwithanyothermammalIfellinlovewithyouNickandIdontknowwhatdodoaboutitNowIknowyouaregoingtokickmeoutbecauseyoudontsharethosefeelingsandthatleavesmelostbecauseyouretheonlymammalthatmatterstomebutIamamonsternowandwillhavetoregisterandbetestedandevenifIkeepmyjobIamgoingtoloseyouandIdontknowifIcantakethat."
Nick blinked and watched as she shrank away from him. The last time he's seen, and heard, her talk that fast was when she'd gotten into his espresso, and had a triple. Giving a smirk and chuckle. "Okay, Fluff. I think I heard my name in there somewhere, but that was way too fast to make out, so as scared as you are, you are going to need to slow down. Take it one thing at a time because I'm pretty sure there are several items in that single sound that was probably several paragraphs."
Judy cringed, wedging herself into the corner as Nick casually popped some kernels in his mouth. "Okay… I, uhm… I got bit on that last raid. The one where all those were creatures were found in cages."
Nick nodded. "Right. Halloween come to life. The city is still trying to come to terms with the fact that werewolf isn't just a dig at a wolf, but a real thing. Explains a lot. I think the acceptance in the city is a good thing, and as officers, they all make some really strong. I mean, did you hear that Mike is from a long line of them? He wasn't bitten, he was born as one! Guess that gives him some extra abilities or something. It was why he refused to give a mating bite to Lizz. Well, that is in the past. Always knew there was a reason I liked that wolf."
Judy perked up. "Whoa! I had no idea. So they really are together, and he turned her?"
"Yep, and with his parents' blessing."
With a nod, Judy relaxed slightly. "So you aren't scared of me then?"
"No more than normal. Does explain a few things I noticed after the raid. As I understand it your diet is going to need to be even more meaty than before. I'll have to take that into account in my shopping. Now, I can make a guess at another item in that blast of single breath sound. Parents are none too thrilled. I suspect you are not one of those moon bound ones but can shift when you want to, once you learn control. However, strong emotions trigger it too. Probably got angry, shifted, parents freaked out, and that's the real reason you showed up here. At least until they come to terms with it, you're banned from the burrow."
Judy nodded. "Yeah, and while my apartment was actually condemned. Termites. Place was basically only being held up by the layers of horrible wallpaper. I had to use my badge under the pretense of checking the building for stragglers, being small enough to not cause too much concern weight wise. I cleared the building. Had to chase the squirrels in 18B out, and then cleared out my apartment. They're knocking the place down next week. Only, I'd have been out of a place anyway. No were or other creatures allowed."
Judy gave a big sigh again before continuing. "Yeah, I'm an at-will shifter. And, yeah… Banned from the burrow until mom and dad figure things out. Called while I was on the train. Apologizing for freaking out, that they don't understand and let fear guide them." rolling her eyes. "As usual for them. Said they would call. I didn't actually talk to them, they left a message."
"Okay, so that makes some sense. You're worried about us getting separated. I'm not overly worried about that. But even if they do, that doesn't change anything between us. If you are an at-will, then you are also still yourself and in control, so even less to worry about. Just don't bite anyone." Giving her a grin.
Judy rolled her eyes. "Yeah, no kidding, Slick." Taking another deep breath she turned to face him. And while more relaxed, whatever this next part was, he could tell it was the true source of her nerves.
Nick smiled at her, reached out and took her paw, causing her to look up startled, though she did not pull away. "Okay, Judy. I feel this next part is where the majority of your issues lay. So out with it."
Judy looked down at their paws and her eyes got a little wetter before she pulled it back. "While I… While I was there, watching my sister get married. I thought about what my wedding would look like. Rabbit weddings take a while, because… I don't know. Should just be a, do you, do you, kiss, go fuck." Judy laughed darkly, while Nick himself couldn't help but a more hearty laugh.
"Okay. So what did you figure out? That you'll never find a mammal, at least not one you can think of being up there with and tolerating all that?"
Judy shook her head and looked away, though she still didn't pull her paw away. "No. Quite the opposite in fact. I tried to see myself up there with any number of bucks I've met, even a few celebrities, without success. As I was about to give up, well… A mammal just popped into my head and rocked me to the core."
Nick's heart was racing as he motioned for her to continue. Could she possibly, being where she was, their paws, the blush. No, he refused to let that hope take root, even though he knew it had already done so. "And…"
"It forced me to think about things, and this mammal. Hard. Why, of all mammals I know, would this person be the one I could actually see myself up there with. It was just so absurd. So out of the south forty. But thinking about them it started to make sense. All the things, all the little things, clicked in place. All the things they do for me. Just who they are, and how they show me their best self, no matter what.
I… I realized that I was in love with someone, and had been for a long time. It's why I was never able to connect with anyone else. They are who I compare any possible mate to. Because my heart already chose them."
Judy turned away and pulled her paw back, deflating. "I know you can never feel that way about me, Nick. You're my friend, my best friend. The best friend I have ever had in my life. I know this is going to cause friction, but I will deal with it. I… I just… With everything else, with me going into the evaluation program for being a were. I had to let you know."
Jumping off the couch she quickly moved over to her bag and quickly stuffed things into it. "I'm sorry to dump this on you. I'll head out." She shouldered the bag and headed for the door.
Nick, for his part was shell shocked, his brain taking a few seconds to catch up to his heart rate. His heart was singing, like a choir of angels. She felt like he did. She was in love with him! Then the fact that she was about to walk out his door hit and he was on his feet in a moment and blocking the door.
"Just where exactly do you think you are going, Judy? I was under the impression that your apartment was gone, the burrow was closed to you, etc… I do also seem to remember inviting you to stay for as long as you need."
Judy looked up at him, tears brimming though not falling. "Nick, move please. I don't think I could stand living here, with you, but not… with you."
Nick frowned. "And how do you know if you are not willing to even try. Just as your friend, I cannot let you out there. It's way too late to be getting a hotel, so at a very minimum, you're stuck here until next week."
Judy shifted, becoming a wolf sized rabbit, plus a slightly longer muzzle full of teeth more akin to Nick's then her normal teeth, as well as the large incisors. Her pants and shirt torn to shreds and barely hanging on, panties and sports bra stretched to the point of the seams nearly giving. Her voice deep and gravelly. "Nick. Move. I don't want to hurt you, but I'm more than strong enough to move you out of the way."
Nick looked up at Judy-were with a raised eyebrow. "Huh… How about that." If anything, he found her just as attractive like this as he did normally.
"Nick…"
Nick looked her up and down, clearly unimpressed, on the outside. Inside, he was absolutely reveling in the view.. "Well, if you're going to be going into the evaluation program for were officers, I guess I'm just going to have to join you."
Judy-were frowned. "I'm not biting you, Nick."
Nick chuckled and pulled the silver pendant from around his neck. "Catch." and tossed it to Judy. She moved to catch it, something she had never seen him without, only to miss it as she watched Nick shift into a form as massive as a tiger, all fox in appearance, and baleful glowing green flame eyes.
Nick-beast grinned down at her, their sizes in these forms still in the same proportions. "So… I'll need to join you. You're Pop-pop isn't quite so far off, at least in my case. Direfox, werefox, and a bit of demon in the mix. That talisman keeps me in the form of a normal fox. As long as I am touching it, I'm what you know. I guess this is the last secret between us, save one."
Judy frowned at Nick. "And what is that, Slick?"
Nick reached up, grabbed her and pulled her into a kiss. In moments their tongues were battling for supremacy as they tasted each other. When, after several minutes they pulled apart. "There is the fact that I am in love with you too, Judy. Have been for a very long time, and as you put it, it's why I've just never been able to find anyone other than the occasional mate-of-the-moment to scratch that itch. I had convinced myself that you could and never would share my feelings and simply resigned myself to that. To always be here for you, no matter what."
Judy grinned, a toothy, vicious thing that would likely intimidate most mammals, and creatures. "Hmmm…" Shrinking down to her normal size, she picked up the talisman, looking up at the massive fox in front of her. "Oh, well this does open up some interesting things."
Nick grinned and followed, scooping her up in one paw and planting a gentle kiss on her, the size difference in that moment almost comical. "Well, in fox culture, the female leads. So, now that we know where we stand, and you are no longer trying to run away. What are your intentions? I think mine have been beyond clear. Well, to a vixen. Hang on."
Nick reached over and taking the talisman back, Nick reverted to his normal fox self. He then pulled out his phone and dialed a number. The line picking up and he put it on speaker. "Hey, Nick. What's up?"
Nick grinned. "Skye, my dearest fox. You're on speaker. Do please explain to Judy what it means when a todd makes special meals for a female, lets them pet his tail, etc…"
Skye laughed over the line for a moment. "Oh, Judy. A todd doesn't just cook for anyone. They are only going to cook for a female that they are actually interested in as a mate. And their tail. Oh gods, girl! He wrapping his tail around you? Letting you pet it?"
Judy looked up at Nick clearly blushing hard. "Uh… Yeah. All of that."
"Giiiiirl! That boy is already lost. Even if he ain't said anything, he already sees you as his mate and will never be able to see another female. I could walk by him, in heat, buck naked, and he might not even notice!"
Judy looked up at Nick, head cocking to the side and a wicked grin taking over her muzzle. "Is that so. If that is true, then dating is probably a formality."
Skye laughed lightly. "As far as he is concerned, at least in his instincts, you're already his mate."
"Thank you, Skye. In that case, I have a fox I need to abuse for not saying anything."
"Oh, yeah. He would not have. Might not even be able to. Big instinct thing with todds. They will do all that to let you know they are interested, or with the tail, already fully invested, but until you say something, until you move the relationship, they will wait for you. It's kinda hard coded into them."
"I see. Thank you." Looking up at Nick with heat in her eyes. "In that case. Nick. Bedroom. Now. Skye, we'll talk more later."
Skye gasped over the line. "Wait, what? Nick! JUDY!" Judy hung up, grabbed Nick's shirt and pulled him into a kiss that straightened and poofed his tail. "You'll need to help me find clothes that won't be destroyed when I shift."
Nick swallowed thickly as a grin came over his face. "Can do, but what you are wearing, what's left, will not survive." He snatched her up into a kiss that didn't break until they were falling onto his bed.

NSFW BREAK
When they came to, they were still locked together, Nick on his back, arms and tail wrapped around her as she rested on his chest. She had her paws on him, slowly digging her claws into his fur to his skin, kneading at him gently before gently coming through the fur, and then repeating.
Looking down he kissed her on the top of the head, then marked her in this form. "Hey. You okay? That was a bit crazy."
Judy chuckled, then marked his chest lightly before looking up into his eyes. "Yeah. Worth it! My gods, Nick. You are still cumming. I can feel it."
Chuckling in kind Nick nodded. "Yeah. I'll be actually and fully spent. I'm also going to need food, as will you I suspect." Seeing the bite mark brought a warm wash over Nick. He gently licked it, causing her to shiver. "You… You sure you're okay. I bit you a lot harder than I expected."
Judy hummed happily, reaching up and gently tracing the bite mark she had left on him. "I'm fine. Are you okay? My incisors are long."
Nick grinned as he felt her paw pass over the sensitive flesh of the fresh wound. "I'm beyond fine. I feel something has shifted though, don't you? More than just the whole Were, Demon, Dire-fox, thing."
Judy nodded into his chest, nuzzling into it and taking a deep breath of his heady scent, so much stronger after everything. "Gods, I love you, Nick. Yeah, something shifted in those last moments. We'll explore it together."
"We will." They shared a deep kiss, both agreeing silently that sleep, actual sleep, was needed before anything else.
XXXXXXX
Several hours later they were both finally free, Judy unconsciously shifted to be the smaller spoon to Nick's larger spoon. As they woke, a deep kiss again shared between them, along with some light marking. They then climbed into the shower, Judy adjusting the temperature as Nick pulled up a food delivery app and ordered a not insignificant amount of food.
Both glad for the extra large shower as they managed to clean themselves and each other, with only a minimal amount of naughty pawing. As they exited the shower, they chose to not bother with clothes, nor bothering to locate Nick's talisman, wherever it had landed inside their apartment. As they rested on the couch and just enjoyed the sight of each other in the bare fur, they got a knock at the door. Nick concentrated for a moment and shifted down to his normal self, or at least what he thought was his normal self. Judy hummed in appreciation, which he assumed was just her horniness, which he noted he could sense in his head.
Pushing that to the side, he unlocked the door and opened it enough to slip his head around. He was figuring on the delivery mammal, and while the two mammals standing there were holding the food he ordered, it was clearly not the delivery mammal.
Glancing up at the wolf and tiger, Nick frowned. "Uh… Hi guys. Problems?"
Both glanced at each other as the scent from inside the apartment leaked out. Mike blushed, glanced back at Lizz who rolled her eyes though she shifted slightly embarrassed." Noise complaints, from most of the building. We have been outside for a few hours. We came up here and well… Super-nose here scented something and simply refused to even knock. Said we needed to wait. We heard some noises. Very loud. Very… Uhm…"
Judy's voice came from inside the apartment. "Epic sex sounds."
Mike coughed and nodded. "Yeah, that. Uhm… We intercepted your food." Both holding up the food bags. "We kinda have to confirm you are both okay. You guys know the drill."
Nick was unceremoniously pushed to one side, the door pulled all the way open to reveal Judy. Nick looked down, eyes going wide. "Whoa! Judy, that's… new."
She grinned up at Nick. "Could say the same for you, Slick. Something new to explore. But damn if you are not even sexier now than you were. Though I don't think I would mind breaking off a piece of these two as well. You?"
Nick grinned evilly. "Oh, I think I would like that quite a lot. Just not right now. I need food, and then I need to get my fill of you." Both Nick and Judy's eyes roving up and down the two mammals outside their door. "If you two are up for it, stop by tomorrow after work. I think Judy and I will be satisfied with each other by then. Again, if you are up for it."
Mike suddenly noticed the marks on their shoulders and gasped. "Oh… Oh wow! Well, we will talk it over. In the mean time. We'll leave you to it. Might want to invest in some better sound proofing." Mike and Lizz handed over the food bags and beat a hasty retreat, to the laughing of the two smaller mammals as the door closed.
