Finally Fran is Maxwell Sheffield's wife. So she is moving from her "Nanny room" to the master bedroom. Maxwell observes her attachment to her old "Shades of the Orient" suitcase. Fran's remark this suitcase contains her most valuable treasures awakened Maxwell's curiosity. One afternoon, when Fran is gone, he cannot resist any longer and opens the suitcase.

Eve Sheffield is a pretty ambitious young girl and lives a life, many girls would dream of. But Eve is not happy. She only dreams to meet a boy, who truly loves her. But that seems impossible. Will Eve ever find the first true love?

Fran and Maxwell are young adults, when they met each other in London and fall in love. But his parents don't accept their realitionship. In their eyes Fran is not suitable. Maxwell should marry the daughter of a befriended family.

Fran followed Nigel on the ship. Now they are engaged and live happily together in Paris. Than they come to New York for a visit. Fran and Maxwell are captured by their old feelings for each other. Maxwell is in a dilemma, Nigel is his brother but Fran is the love of his life.

Fran tells Maxwell and everybody else she found her Mr. Right: handsome, Jewish and a doctor. She wants to quit and move to Malibu. Maxwell cannot accept it. In the last time their relationship improved so well and now he should loose her?
