It was dark. So horribly dark.
Yet, she had been told this would have happened. It wasn't a pleasant trip, it was never meant to be one. Not when she was defying so many rules. It was almost poetic - to save the world she condemned by breaking rules, she was now breaking even more important rules.
And it wasn't all.
In fact, while the journey through the dark void was terrifying, it was actually the awareness she was going to met them when they were young. She could yearn to hug her father, but... her mother?
A shudder went down her spine, a sense of self-loathing wrecking through her efforts to keep calm as she knew, deep down, she would have all the reasons to be angry at her. Her mother, so beautiful and yet so divine... would she cast her to hell or give her a chance to make her case?
She was so young, so naive, so stupid. She knew that, she knew that all of this was her fault.
Only her fault.
And yet, she persisted for she had a few people she had yet to fail. While the world she left behind, one set several centuries away from her destination, was cursed beyond reproach through the means available in the current timeline, Pluto had suggested she would find something in the past. Or, what she called 'a potential past'.
It was confusing. Something about proper time-travel being impossible to achieve, and that the best she could do was to find a 'point in time, somewhere close to the past, where she could find help'. So confusing, and yet it was the only option she got.
The void was already making her regret taking this choice. Maybe she could have finally grown a backbone, maybe she should have stood behind and made her own stand. But no, that treacherous voice in her mind nagged at her weakness. The little princess, the fragile flower-
The broken heiress.
A tiny figure before the darkness cast by the bright entity that was Neo Queen Serenity. A pale comparison, a hopeful premise with a lackluster outcome. A child that never grew up, a brat that never understood the meaning of becoming an adult.
It was the perfect paradox of a failure.
One that was soon no longer falling through the void as darkness was shredded by the gusts and the winds, for light erupted so suddenly as the little one soon saw the ground approaching. Green, so green. It reminded the child of the time she spent in her garden, away from tutors and naggers, away from the painful aches of being told many times 'it is time you grow up'. And how it all ended, with her naivety and lack of will proving to be the dooming factor for the greatest of outcomes.
She saw the ground approaching faster, and she knew she needed an appropriate landing spot. She would have tried to arch her small frame to land on one of the picnic areas nearby but-
SQUAWK!
Birds came and flew onto her, the flock smacking and making her once stable fall more tumultuous. Panic started to swell within her as her airborne status soon grew more difficult to handle, fearful eyes seeing the once stable green mixing with the gray of skyscrapers, the blue sky, the clouds, the grass and then-
Yellow.
No, blond.
She blinked and-
A moment, that was all it took for the girl to yelp, and enough for the one she was falling upon to react.
BONK!
Head against head, pain erupted from within as the girl's mind went numb suddenly, a pained groan croaking out as she effortlessly flipped down to the ground. The other head currently nursed as the owner, a boy, was gritting his teeth while turning to her with a angry and then surprised look.
"H-Huh, that's a thing now."
She blinked. What was a thing? And...
"W-Where am I?"
For the child with the burdens of a possible future couldn't exactly recall anything after that concussion.
Not even her own name.
"What do you..." The boy paused, then frowned. "What's your name?"
"...Can't remember."
He facepalmed, hard, but she still found him...
Cute~.
