Chapter 18
I Know Why the Caged Bird Kills
Venture Compound
Right now Orpheus was relaxing in his room, happily stroking his cat, "(DING! DONG!)" "MAAAARRRROOOOOWWWWW!" That is until the doorbell rang, scaring the cat and causing her to run away.
Though as soon as he answered, Rusty and Naruto walked in, with Naruto grumbling about having his "fun" ruined while in Japan, though luckily Orpheus was too busy looking at the floating, disembodied Japanese demon head floating behind Rusty, seeing as it was bonded to the man, and Naruto was able to see it as well due to his healing factor being magic based as well, but unfortunately, the language that the Oni was speaking in was an ancient dialect that Naruto couldn't understand, meaning that the spirit was old that the modern Japanese language couldn't translate for him.
So the two had decided to visit Orpheus, after Naruto had explained to Brock that Rusty was possessed by a Japanese Oni, though Brock did question it, until Naruto pointed out his healing factor was magic based, making the man somewhat concede to the notion that Rusty might be possessed, though he was still somewhat skeptical, he decided to trust his son on this.
Where at first Rusty had questioned Naruto about it, causing Naruto to point out that just because his first name was Japanese, due to his mother giving birth to him in Japan during a Maelstrom, hence the name, doesn't make him Japanese by blood, just nationality seeing as he was born in the country, but he was half American and Half Russian, on his dad and mother's side, respectfully, though Rusty did apologies for the slight racial remark, he explained that he thought due to Naruto traveling with his mother that he must've ran into some artefacts that caused some type of possession like his own, but Naruto had simply explained that not since gaining his healing factor, stating that he was much more careful in handling anymore artefacts or anything mythical after that.
Hence why the two were visiting Orpheus right now, though when Orpheus had brought out a pair of giant golden tweezers, at caused the Oni to fly around in a terrified rage, dragging Rusty along with it, though thankfully avoiding Naruto due to the whiskermarks on his cheeks, since to any mystical being, the markings act like a barrier to them, or in a better understanding, an omega animal being next to an alpha animal, depending on said animal's strength.
So while Naruto watches as Rusty pretty much crashes into nearly everything, Naruto just watches on in amusement, figuring this was karma's way of paying Rusty back for ruining his "fun" while in Japan, since Naruto had actually managed to get into a conversation with a couple of Japanese twins, both who happened to be called Fook Mi and Fook Yu, making things VERY interesting for Naruto, but as anyone knows, life has a way of kicking you in the balls before you can have fun.
Anyway, while Naruto had "strolled down mammary lane" (pun intended), Orpheus had left to do something, making Naruto jolt out of his thoughts and back to what was happening, though missing what Orpheus had said about his daughter's closet.
Outside
As that was happening Brock was looking for the boys, wondering what was happening with them and their driving lessons, with Brock calling for them, only for Orpheus, Rusty and Naruto to make their appearance, with them explaining about the Oni wanting take Rusty somewhere, for whatever reason, but Brock was still skeptical about the whole thing, though mentioned that while they deal with that, he'll go looking for the boys.
"You know what, I'll join you dad, looking for the boys will be better then following a giant floating red demon head." Though when Naruto said that, the demon roared and threw Rusty up into the air in a rage, "OOPH!" With the man landing back down on his stomach, making Brock realise that there must've been "some" logic to the Oni-angle that Rusty was talking about, "WHAT!? That's what you ARE don't get "huffy" just because my dad doesn't know what an "Oni" is in Japanese Myths!" Naruto soon yelled at the demonic head.
After witnessing such a scene, Brock had decided to wash his hands of the whole thing, cos if there's one thing he doesn't deal with is spirits, Japanese or otherwise, since there's always some "rules" to dealing with them, so the man leaves that sort of stuff to a more knowledgeable person than himself, with Naruto feeling somewhat the same way, since he can't really fight spirits in a physical sense, or use his axe on them either, but thanks to his mystical healing factor, he didn't have to worry about getting possessed by anything.
It wasn't long before both Brock and Naruto started driving away, looking for the boys, though they both did manage to catch the tail-end of Rusty being "dragged" along the road by the now possessed car, since Rusty did pretty much "stuffed" the spirit into the boot of the car, but because he was still "tethered" to the Oni he was dragged along like he was on a rope, though Naruto did manage to hear Rusty exclaim, "WHAT IF IT WANTS TO GO BACK TO JAPAN!?" Due to not wanting to experience being dragged again.
Night
Though as they were driving, Naruto was thankful that he was on his ride, i.e. his motorcycle, seeing as his dad was listening to loud "Soft Rock" at such loud volume, but thankfully Helper had turned it down, even though Naruto had his two-way communicator on, he had used his "block music" function on his helmet, unfortunately Brock had his windows down so Naruto could still hear the music, but he was at a safe distance so he didn't get a headache from the noise.
Where Naruto could hear his dad arguing with the robot about his choice in music, though it wasn't long before they came across a dumpster, where the boys wrist-comms were, "Hold up dad, (sigh!), let me check it out." Naruto groaned out.
"And why should you check if the boys are in there or not." Brock couldn't help but question his son in his choice of volunteering in seeing if the boys were in the dumpster or not.
Naruto just gives Brock a funny look, "Dad seriously, come on man, you're supposed to be a secret agent, I mean, it's obvious that the boys aren't gonna be in a dumpster, all the way out here, it's pretty obvious that someone had dumped their wrist comms, which are more than likely attached to a bomb." Naruto gave a quick summary of what is more than likely in the dumpster.
With Brock soon getting the idea, but also understanding why Naruto had groaned in frustration and exasperation.
Naruto went to the dumpster, started looking around in it, only to find the boys wrist comms, with a message suddenly appearing on the screens in red, with Naruto reading it outloud, ""The Boys..." "Are Mine!" What's that mean dad!" Yells out, wondering what the hell that meant.
Making Brock realise something, "Oh crap! Myra's back." He exclaims.
With Naruto confused about who this person was, until he uncovers a large case of C4, Ahhh~ Crap! This is gonna FUCKING HURT!"
"(BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!)"
With the explosion going off, making Brock cover his head at the explosion, where as Naruto was thrown up into the air, "SOMETHING SOFT GET IN MY WAYYYYYYYY~~~~!"
"(BANG!)" "GAH! That wasn't soft!"
Turns out, Naruto had landed on the bonnet of Brock's car, where due to his landing, the front axes of the wheels had bent to such a degree that it was touching the ground, with the wheels having been blown off the car themselves, with the back raising slightly as well, pretty much bending the car in the middle.
"Okay, that hurt, urgh! I'm gonna be feeling the phantom pains from that for the next few days, so I'm just gonna say, screw you universe, for not giving me something soft to land on, and for wrecking my dad's car!" Naruto groans out in pain, which was slowly ebbing away thanks to his healing factor, which is more than you can say for Naruto's clothes, since the only thing he had was his jeans, which now resembles The Hulk's ripped purple trousers, though luckily his helmet was on his bike at the time, so he still had that.
But this also left them with one more problem, they only had Naruto's motorcycle to possibly ride on and neither was gonna ride-bitch, though their prayers were answered when Helper had helicopter blades pop out of his head, where he then starts carrying Brock their next part in trying to find the boys, with Naruto driving his motorcycle under them, having just inadvertently passing henchmen 21 and Sheila due to someone helping The Monarch out with his villainy activities.
Where Brock soon began explaining about Myra and how she became crazily obsessed with both the boys and Rusty, with them having Helper scan and follow the tire tracks that Myra had left behind.
Next Day
As it turned out, Helper was a slow flyer, so, Naruto had pulled over for the night, explaining to Brock that it might take Helper a while to get to wherever the crazy lady is, so he's gonna close his eyes for a few hours, mostly for his bones to pop back into place, but to also regain his energy after surviving the explosion and fall, which Brock had agreed to, since his car was a testament to Naruto's fall and injuries.
Though Naruto soon arrived at the motel, just witnessing the ending of Brock pretty much crashing through the windshield of the car, where due to his size, he lands on Myra, with that, they called the hospital for her, and started making their way back to the compound, with Brock coming up with a plausible reason why she kidnapped the boys, though struggled at the end of calling them clones, along with Rusty, since it was difficult to come up with an excuse.
"Boys the reason you don't remember was because of how traumatic the experience with her was, it's basically called repressed memories, so unless you both want to have a complete mental breakdown, I'd suggest forgetting about her, otherwise you'll both end up just as crazy as her, I'm just grateful that I didn't meet her before now, since I've only just joined the Venture team." Naruto quickly explained over the radio, which, just as quickly, stopped the boys from asking anymore questions.
Though Dean did wonder about something, only for Rusty to blow up, "ALRIGHT! So I fucked her!" Getting stressed by the boy's enquiry about the woman.
"And that's my que to disconnect our communications and get in touch with Triana in order to forget that image." Naruto exclaimed while signing off, though Orpheus wanted to question Naruto about what he meant, due to the radio cutting off, he couldn't right now, with Naruto getting in touch with Triana and having some "sexy talk" over the phone to help Naruto forget his own "trauma" from Rusty's history.
Though due to their own "distractions" they missed the Oni leaving them to join up with the mysterious Dr. Henry Killinger, while the man compliments the head for at least "trying" to get Rusty and Myra back together, but it was sadly obvious that the woman needed more help with her mental stability than anything else, but at least the Oni had helped save the boys.
Yet as the man was leaving, his mask-covered eyes zeroed in on Naruto, "That young man will certainly go far, and he will help in cooling down his father's heated rage, cos while it's certainly a power in and of itself, Brock Samson's rage also needs to be tempered for him to use it as a proper tool and weapon for his coming days." With Dr. Henry stating that Naruto would help Brock in his control over his rage, instead of letting his rage control him.
"But, what can you expect from a man with such ancestry." The man finishes, with his mind flashing back to the ancient greek pantheon that was destroyed, by a man with pale-white skin and a certain red tattoo.
Echoes of an Old Life
"It's funny though how life has a way of repeating ancient history, only instead of the father having the Leviathan Axe, it's the son, certainly an interesting twist." He couldn't help but say, "But, then again, who knows where their ancestry lies for them, since it's pretty obvious who Brock Samson takes after, and who Naruto Samson takes after as well."
With both Samson's having a shadow over them that only Dr. Henry could see, with Brock's shadow having a familiar red glowing tattoo to it.
While Naruto's shadow was transforming into different animals, but seem to stick with a wolf's shadow.

Figured I'd have Killinger able to "see" both Naruto's and Brock's family history, along with both resembling a certain father/son pair as well, think of it as a taste for what I may have planned for the future of this story, seeing as there's still quite a lot of episodes left before everything is revealed. lol
Also, if you can't figure out who I Killinger was talking about, that you must be blind and dumb considering how I practically "gave" it away for you to figure out. lol
