Author's note: this is a REALLY LONG CHAPTER. Like, 5000+ words long. Remember to take a break!

Chapter 48: I swear on my life

"So, you're telling me you caught the Bombardier after defeating it in battle?" Aeon asked as he walked beside Kai with his older brother Arven. They were making their way over to the Bombirdier's cave.

"Yup!" Kai said, grinning wide with his teeth showing. Aeon sighed deeply.

"That's actually really impressive, if you're telling the truth, that is," Arven said.

"He's definitely telling the truth." Aeon said, narrowing his eyes and putting his hands on his hips. "The only time he lies is when he's talking about me being his future boyfriend." Aeon made a mischievous look at Kai. Kai's smile deepened in response.

"Oh no- it's literally only a matter of time." Kai said.

"Oh, really?" Aeon replied.

"Really."

"Kai," Aeon smirked and stepped in front of Kai, who stopped in his tracks. "Even if you did decide to go into a relationship with me," Aeon continued, "I'm not sure you'd be even ready." Aeon took a step toward Kai- and Kai immediately froze up and widened his eyes. "You freeze up every time I come close- like now," Aeon said. The robot boy pulled away and shrugged. "If you can't deal with me closing the distance like that, there's no way you'd survive ten seconds in a relationship with me."

"Well- what if I surprise you all of a sudden and take those lips of yours for a ride?!" Kai cried.

"By all means. Do it. I won't stop you." Aeon stared at Kai, who started to pout and reddened. "I'm waiting,"

"Gch.."

"Yup. That's what I thought."

"Mark my words… I'll get you one of these days." Kai said.

"I'll be old and gray by the time you do." Aeon said, walking ahead.

"He can't even become old and grey.." Arven whispered under his breath- speaking low enough that not even Kai could hear him.

"I meant what I said!" Kai cried. Arven placed a hand on Kai's shoulder.

"You've got this," He said.

Kai nodded.

As Aeon marched along, he found himself unable to stop smiling. He was clearly having a blast teasing and messing with Kai. He looked ahead and realized that they were nearing the cave Bombirdier would hide his food at. The former titan Bombirdier himself was standing in front of the cave, too. His back was turned to the three boys that approached.

"Oh- hey! Bombirdier!" Kai cried, running past Aeon and over to the bird Pokémon. The bird Pokémon spun around- squawked, then flew over to Kai. It went straight onto Kai's head, and Kai started shouting, trying to reach for the Bombirdier who would lift its talons from his trainer's head to dodge before standing on his head again.

Aeon stopped short and watched- and Arven came to his side.

"Guess that's Bombirdier's way of greeting Kai." Arven said, lifting the volume of his voice a bit to talk over Kai's frustrated cries.

Aeon smiled and put his hands on his shoulders. "Told you he was telling the truth," He said.

"Usually, you're the one being pessimistic. Last time he said he beat a Titan, you didn't believe him," Arven said.

"That was before, and now I've learned my lesson," Aeon said, watching Kai fight with Bombirdier who was repeatedly prodding him. "I believe in him."

"Really?"

Bombirdier planted his feet on Kai's head, and looked around as Kai groaned and looked up at the flying/dark type.

"Jeez.." Kai groaned. "Stupid bird..!"

"Before," Aeon continued, "When I met Kai, I didn't think much of him. I thought that he was just some amateur trainer. But now I realize that there's a lot more to him. When he wants to get something done, no matter the odds, no matter what's thrown at him...he'll get it done. Even if he has to pull off a miracle."

"So you're saying whatever he says he'll do, he'll do it?"

"Yup." Aeon said.

"So, you're saying that when Kai says he's going to kiss you, and because you're confident that he can do whatever he puts his mind to..."

"Aaand this conversation is over," Aeon said.

"Pfft... You don't have to hide your feelings. I already know you like the guy."

"Huh, my ears must be malfunctioning again. I didn't hear you."

"...I figured you'd say that. I'd better stop those two, though... Hey- Kai! Ask bombirdier if we can go grab some of the food it has!" Arven said.

"Wha-" Kai spun his head around, and Bombirdier, who was still standing on his trainer's head, looked onto the people Kai was facing.

Suddenly, Bombirdier's eyes wondered over to Arven- and then...It looked at Aeon.

It's eyes widened in fear. It squawked loudly and started to take flight, screeching at Aeon. It began to sweat profusely, as though Death itself was staring it straight in the eye. Bombirdier quickly took flight and flew away as quickly as possible.

"What's he going on about..?" Kai asked, looking at Bombirdier hurriedly flying away.

Aeon was slammed right in the face with the memory of what he did to that Bombirdier...when he lost control of his body due to the Paradox drive. He remembered the feeling of the Bombirdier's soft and feathered neck- how he clutched it in an attempt to choke the life out of it. Aeon remembered when he did the same to Arven, he remembered the look in his older brother's eye, how terrified he was. What made it all worse was that it felt like an out-of-body-experience. He was a front row-seated spectator to a horror show, and no matter how hard he screamed and begged for it to end, it would continue.

He had no idea how he was able to break free of the Paradox drive before...

"Aeon!"

Aeon blinked and nearly gasped. he felt the hand of his older brother on his shoulder and had just realized he was being shaken for a while.

"Y-Yes?" Aeon said.

"Kai's Bombirdier's gone. Kai went inside. We should follow him."

"...Right."

Arven went in front of Aeon. "You alright, man?" Arven asked.

Aeon said nothing.

"Talk to me."

Aeon said nothing, and Arven crossed his arms.

"Are you thinking about that time when you went berserk?"

Aeon lowered his head.

"Giving me the silent treatment, huh?" Arven said.

"I just…" Aeon turned his head a bit. "I need to think to myself for a bit."

"Buddy-" Arven paused and put his hands on his hips. "Listen. If you need anything- anything at all, let me know. Okay?"

"Okay."

"You can talk to me about anything."

"Yeah. I know."

"I…uh, love you, little bro."

Aeon's eyes widened. Arven's face went a little red as he scratched the back of his head.

"Heh. Sounds a little weird now that I've already said it."

"I…love you too, Arven." Aeon said.

"Ugh- now it's even more awkward..." Arven said, laughing a bit. His laugh made Aeon crack a smile."Making me all embarrassed now," Arven continued. "Anyway, we've gotta go inside. Kai's probably gonna yell at us a bit. I can take care of the talking."

"I'd like that. Thank you."

"Anytime. Let's go."

Aeon smiled and nodded as he followed Arven inside the cave. He was happy to have Arven- him saying that lifted his spirit. Although, he had to think about what the existence of the Paradox Drive...it poses far too many questions.

Arven and Kai started talking, and Aeon paid no attention to their conversation- then quickly told them both he was going to go outside to think.

Aeon went outside. In front of him was the evening sky. He's seen many evening skies ever since he was born- but this one was by far the most ominous. But now wasn't the time to think about the way he felt about his surroundings. It was time to think about the Paradox Drive. Aeon closed his eyes.

It exists for a reason.

The robot boy thought as much as he could. The Paradox Drive is a device that powers his entire system. It's the closest thing he had to a heart, so removing it is out of the question. But it's also the device that caused him to go completely berserk. The only thing he could talk about was… defending his own territory.

When it activated, his appearance changed. His hair changed, and he was able to wield weapons resembling the two Pokémon. It was as though he had Terafused with them both. There was no doubt in Aeon's mind that if a trainer were to Terafuse with Koraidon and/or Miraidon, they would wield the exact same weapons Aeon did when he fought Bombirdier.

So, was Aeon some sort of walking Invoker? Was he created based off the armor of invokers? That wasn't a question he had the answer to- but for now, he had to assume that the answer to that was 'yes.'

If the answer to that was yes… Then that would mean that the Paradox Drive has the power of Miraidon and Koraidon.

But there was one problem. In order for that theory of his to be true, Miraidon and Koraidon have to be inside of the Paradox Drive, like a Pokémon would be inside the invoker armor of a trainer durring a Terafusion. But there were only one Miraidon and One Koraidon, and Kai and Arven already had them.

What if this device mimicked Koraidon and Miraidon's power? No- that's impossible. There was no way that there was a device that could possibly do that. At least not to his knowledge.

Aeon put a bent finger under his lower lip. What if... there were more than one Miraidon and Koraidon? If that were the case, How?

How could there be two Koraidons and Miraidons?

Scratch that- something else came to his mind remembered one thing that he was told before- about how Turo said that there was a…butterfly effect.

What is a Butterfly effect?

The term Butterfly effect is a term used when time travel is involved. It's used when someone goes to the past, and changes something. The changes that happen after the time traveler meddles with a timeline are what butterfly effects are.

Example: A teacher gives out a pop quiz to her students, all of her students fail, and so the teacher decides to become much stricter and makes all the students feel sad to the point that some kids quit. A time traveler decides to go back and time and stop this from happening, so travels back to the past- to a day before the test began. The time traveler would give a rock he painted and molded to look like an apple to his teacher, and when the teacher would take a bite, they would break a tooth.

So instead of giving her tests to her students on the day she was supposed to, she calls off class, and her substitute warns the students of the pop quiz. The students study for the upcoming test, and by the time the teacher comes back, all of the students pass the tests. So naturally, the teacher doesn't have a reason to be angry, and never becomes mean. Everything goes according to plan for the time traveler, and all's well that ends well.

Right?

Not exactly.

Something else happens as a result of the time traveler's meddling. It turned out that one of the students in the original, untouched timeline who quit the classroom due to their teacher's strict and mean attitude...used that failure as an excuse to push themselves to become a teacher. All because he wanted to be a better teacher than his mean teacher.

But because the timeline changed, the teacher never became mean, and so, that student never becomes a teacher. And because that student never became a teacher...they never inspire the kid they were supposed to inspire that would go on to become a president.

And because that person never became president...Many more countless things can happen. This is an example of how much a timeline can change with one small, tiny change.

All the time traveler had to do was either insert something into a timeline that originally wasn't there, remove something, or change something. Then the butterfly effects would follow and several countless possibilities can happen all at once.

...Wait.

Forget about the Paradox Drive.

If Turo mentioned a butterfly effect…

That meant that Turo and Sada were time travelers.

Did that mean they went back in time to grab two extra Miraidon and Koraidon?

Maybe... He needed more information. But Wait- They also mentioned trying to achieve the perfect timeline. Then...that meant that they were definitely time travelers. If those two were time travelers, that must have meant…that they were planning something... But the word 'perfect' implies that there must be no 'errors' in their timeline. What would be their perfect timeline...?

That wasn't important right now. What was absolutely terrifying to him was that those two were time travelers, and that they were planning to do something-...What if they were planning to do something to Kai?

Why else would they have him bond with-

...That's when he understood.

He understood all of it. It was knowledge that he wasn't ready to deal with, knowledge that he didn't want to face. The boy was suddenly regretting ever thinking about trying to decipher what his thoughts meant and wished that he could just shut down here and now forever.

Aeon's eyes were wide open now, and his jaw was dropped. He felt like he had to tell someone- anyone…But he couldn't. Because another thought came to his mind that would prevent him from saying a word.

That story he thought of in his head, about the time traveler attempting to stop his teacher from giving the test to her students...He was the stone apple.

Aeon was inserted into this timeline by Turo and Sada...to change it.

There was previously a timeline where Aeon did not exist. And that led to Turo and Sada not achieving their perfect timeline. And so, they had to change it. And to do that, they...

Created Aeon.

But why?

Kai was their main target. So, what use would Aeon give them? Emotional leverage!

It was dirty. Completely and utterly dirty. But it was effective. They went back in time, introduced Aeon to the group- let him mingle and bond with Kai…and then when the time came…they'd use the Paradox Drive…and turn him against his friends and family.

He was designed to get Kai's attention.

Aeon leaned onto the stone cave behind him and slid to the ground and sat flat on his butt. He just stared vacantly at the sky. He had no idea what to think of, or what to do.

If everything he thought about was true...Aeon's Paradox Drive... had to been created to stop Kai. When it would activate, he would become an enemy that so powerful that he couldn't defeat it- and even if he somehow managed to pull out a miracle...Kai wouldn't have the emotional strength to put an end to him.

It was genius.

But- now that Aeon knew, there had to be something he could do. Aeon had to…either disappear…or be destroyed. He could stand up right now and disappear without the two boys ever realizing where he was. It'd be just like when he was hiding his feelings for Kai.

It wasn't something he wanted to do, but it was something that had to be done- for the best.

Tears welled up in the boy's eyes as he clenched his fists.

"Hey- Aeon.." Kai's voice made Aeon swing around. Intense anger washed over the android's body- because he couldn't just disappear with Kai's eyes on him. The emotional pain would be far too much. Kai waved his hand and walked over to the anxious looking boy's side.

"Oh-" Aeon said. "Hi."

"Whatcha thinking about?"

"...Too many things." Aeon said.

"I gotcha. Arven said you had to come out here to think. He told me to go outside since he was going to take care of some 'business'."

Aeon nodded to himself. Arven wanted privacy to feed his Mabosstiff.

"You look a little sad. What's wrong?"

"...I can't tell you." Aeon said.

"Why not?"

"I really can't."

"...Okay."

The two boys went quiet for a bit- and Aeon just then realized how uncharacteristically quiet Kai was being.

"Why're you quiet?" Aeon asked. "Isn't this the part where you flirt with me?"

It would be nice to flirt a little...maybe get his mind off of things.

"Arven told me that you were feeling…really down." Kai said. "So I was kind of just thinking of how I could cheer you up."

"Right." Aeon said. The feeling of anguish washed over him all over again. Aeon decided to stand up. "Well, I'm going to go back inside now." Aeon turned and tried walking into the cave, but stopped when Kai grabbed his wrist.

"Arven said that you were going through a lot." Kai said. "He wanted me to tell you…that I'm here for you. And he's right- I really am."

Aeon pulled his hand away from Kai, and immediately regretted it.

"Huh?" Kai said. "Aeon..?"

"Don't make this any harder than it has to be." Aeon said, not turning to Kai. "Please. I beg of you."

"What- What're you talking about?"

"Kai- I-.." Aeon turned back to Kai. He felt his pent up emotions beginning to rise within him. All of that pain that he hid away from Arven was coming back- and was ready to explode.

"I'm not- I'm.." Kai's eyes widened in concern as Aeon began to tear up. Aeon began to break into sobs before he started to cry. Immediately, Kai went over to hug Aeon- and Aeon continued to cry.

"Wh- Aeon?!" Arven's eyes widened

Arven- who heard the crying and had already fed Mabosstiff, ran over to Kai and Aeon. Arven quickly wrapped his hands around Aeon from behind- and it looked like a huge hug-sandwitch, with Aeon in the middle.

Aeon was crying like a newborn baby.

"I-I love you both… so much…"

Arven and Kai didn't know what he was talking about- and they wouldn't for a while, for Aeon's word became incoherent due to his intense sobbing.

Author's note: Feel free to take a bit of a break here! Like I said, it's a long chapter.

Night had come to Paldea. Aeon, Arven and Kai sat around a campfire inside the cave. Aeon had stopped crying, and was sniffling while staring at the fire. Arven was across the fire, staring straight at his younger brother. Kai was by his side, holding his hand.

The sound of chirping bug-type Pokémon rang in the air along with the crackling sound of burning firewood.

"You wanna talk to us?" Arven said, breaking the silence.

"I can't," Aeon said.

"Are you sure?" Kai asked.

"I can't." Aeon replied.

Arven went silent. And so did Aeon.

"I remember when you said that before…" Kai said. "When you…had that complication with me earlier. Y'know? When you were mean to me? You just kept saying… 'you couldn't talk.'" Aeon felt Kai's grip tighten. "I wanna know what's going on."

Aeon said nothing. He lowered his head.

"C'mon," Arven said. "Tell us."

"I can't."

"It's okay. We're not going to get angry at you," Arven said.

"I said, I can't."

"Aeon, please-" Kai said.

"I can't!" Aeon's raised voice made both boys become quiet. The silence made Kai begin to tremble- because the fright he gave them made him remember how terrified they'd be if he lost control of himself with the Paradox drive.

"I just can't." Aeon said. Hot tears began streaming down his face.

"Aeon." Arven said. "We care about you. Whatever's going on is clearly-"

"Stop!" Aeon cried. "Just- stop talking about it!"

"We just don't want you to be sad anymore-" Kai said.

"Stop! Please, just stop! Just. Stop..!"

"Aeon.." Kai said.

"No!"

"Aeon-" Arven said, "please-"

"No! No! It's done- we're done! We're not talking about this!" Aeon shouted.

"Aeon, we just want to-"

Aeon yanked his hand away from Kai and stood up.

"No- you don't get it!" Aeon shouted. "You can't get it- I can't tell you! Okay!? What- will you not stop until I tell you?! You want to know!?" Aeon shouted "You really want to know!? Fine! Okay!? Fine! I'm your enemy! Okay?! I'm supposed to be used as leverage- emotional leverage! Okay?! My creators made me so I could kill you, Kai!"

Kai and Arven stared in complete shock.

"I can't even tell you their names because of how scared I am..! Those two monsters- those, those demons made me so…so I could-...hurt you guys.. And-..." Aeon began to break down again but fought against his sobs. "There's nothing I can do...! Arven- the Paradox Drive- that's what they're going to use. They're going to make me go berserk just like how I did against that Bombirdier… And then they're going to make me hurt you guys… And they know that you won't be able to do anything about it! Because you care about me! That's why I have to go. I have to leave! That way, you'll forget about me, and-"

Kai immediately hugged Aeon.

"No!" Kai cried. "You can't go!"

Aeon attempted to shove Kai as lightly as he could, but Kai stayed on him.

"Kai- let go of me! Let go of me!"

"I don't know what you're even talking about...!"

Aeon used more force and pushed Kai off of him- Kai fell on his back right next to the fireplace.

"Kai- oh jeez-..!" Arven said with a gasp.

Aeon looked down at Kai. "You don't get it. So I'll show you..!" Aeon decided to do something only a robot could do: His arm quickly transformed into an arm cannon. Kai's eyes widened in horror. "I'm a robot, Kai...!" Aeon said as he reverted his arm cannon back to a normal arm. "I'm a machine. Just a tool created to destroy you. The closer you get to me, the harder it'll be for you to fight me when they use me against you! My face- my body- my personality..!? It was all made so you could come to care about me..! ! There's a device inside of me that makes me become more powerful than anything you've ever faced! Do you get it now!? The only thing I can do now, is stay far, far away from you! That's the only way that I can stop myself from hurting you two..!"

Aeon spun around and started to walk away. Kai sprang back up to his feet, ran over to him and hugged him tightly from behind.

"Don't go..!" Kai said. Aeon could feel Kai's tears on his back.

Aeon shoved Kai away with his shoulder and spun around to face him.

"Didn't I tell you..?" Aeon said. "Once I go berserk- there'll be nothing I can do- I'll become too powerful-"

"Then I'll stop you..!" Kai cried. "I swear on my life, I'll stop you myself if you ever go berserk..!"

"So how are you going to stop me..? Are you going to destroy me..?" Aeon asked.

"No- I'll never do that. I'm going to stop you, then turn you back to normal- I swear on my life- I'll do it!"

"Two people fight each other, only one survives- that's how our battle will go!" Aeon shouted. "Kai- With the power of the Paradox Drive, I became so powerful that I could have reduced your Bombirdier to ash. I even attacked Arven! The boy I was programmed to love! What makes you think you'll be safe..?"

"Aeon- do you remember that time when I was angry at you?!" Kai cried. "Remember that time when I decided…to just trust you, despite everything you'd just said to me- despite how stupid your claims seemed…remember that? I need you to do the same for me… I need you to trust me too!"

"I do trust you, Kai!"

"Then why aren't you trusting me to stop you?!"

"Because I'm scared!"

"Remember those times when you told me that my victory wasn't likely?" Kai asked. "When I fought that Klawf, then Mela, then Bombirdier… every time, I always came out on top. What makes you think I won't this time!"

"This is your life we're talking about. If you lose against me, you'll die. I don't want you to die-"

"I won't die!"

"But what if you do!? What am I supposed to do if you died, Kai!? Do you know how angry I'd be at myself if I killed the boy I love!?"

Kai's eyes widened in shock.

"You don't understand-" Aeon continued. "You couldn't understand! That's why I have to leave- because I don't want you or anyone to be killed by me..! I have to leave! I have to make sure you and Arven survive- and the only way to do that is to leave and never-"

Kai moved in close unexpectedly and kissed Aeon on the lips.

Aeon's eyes widened- his face became red, and he just remained still as Kai put his hands on his cheeks. The boys' tears mixed in with each other. Then, after pulling away, Kai hugged Aeon tightly, burying his face onto the android's shoulder. Soon, he pulled away and rested his head against his- their faces were mere inches apart.

"I swear on my life, Aeon. On everything I hold dear- that I will bring you back if you go berserk." Kai said.

That's when Aeon suddenly remembered those word that he said when talking about Kai to Arven not long ago... It flashed in his mind like a tape recording and replayed for him.

'Before, When I met Kai, I didn't think much of him. I thought that he was just some amateur trainer. But now I realize that there's a lot more to him. When he wants to get something done, no matter the odds, no matter what's thrown at him...he'll get it done. Even if he has to pull off a miracle.'

Aeon blinked as he felt Kai's hand caressing his cheek and bringing bring him back to the present. Aeon He held onto Kai's hand tightly, like it was the only thing stopping him from falling off a cliff.

"You…." Aeon sniffled. "Just… Just don't…say…I didn't warn you."

"Aeon, when have I ever listened to your warnings?"

Aeon chuckled a bit. Kai leaned, and kissed him one more time, and Aeon returned the passion that Kai was giving him- the android wrapped his arms around the human boy tightly. Once the kiss was over, the two boys pulled their lips away.

"You know…" Aeon said, "you found out about me being a robot before all of this. You let me erase your memory. You told me to not tell you about my secret until I trusted you with my life."

"...Isn't that what you're doing right now?"

Aeon chuckled again. "Yeah." He said. "You also said I had to fight you once I told you."

"Let's save that for later. Later-later. Like when I fight you when you go berserk, later."

Aeon frowned. "...Kai."

"Too soon? Sorry, sorry. Listen, I'll protect you. Okay?"

"Yeah." Aeon stared at Kai for a moment, then nodded again. "Yeah, you're right.

Both boys gasped once they heard the sound of Arven's sobbing. They let go of each other to approach Arven.

"Arven- are you okay?" Kai asked.

"It's- it's just that… I love you two so much... you two are...really important to me.."

"Group hug time again," Kai said.

"Yeah." Aeon said.

Kai and Aeon hugged Arven. it was one big hug-sandwich again, but with Arven in the middle. Arven began sobbing like a baby.

The next day came. The sun was burning bright, but not as bright as the smiles of the three boys who emerged from the cave they decided to sleep inside of.

Arven yawned as he stretched his arms. "Love the sight of a brand-new day. What do you boys think?"

"It looks gorgeous outside," Kai said. He turned to Aeon. "But not as-"

"Kai," Aeon said, "If you try to say something cheesy like, 'Not as gorgeous as you, Aeon,' I'm going to-"

"Whaaat? I wasn't going to say that! Pfft- that's way too cheesy! Of course I wouldn't say that! I'm- I'm even offended that you'd think-!"

"You didn't let me finish. I was going to say, 'I'm going to punish you with a kiss.'"

"Oh-" Kai said, raising his eyebrows. "Well…heh. You…got me. Guilty as charged. Yeah, you were right. Totally right."

Aeon moved closer to Kai. "That's what I thought."

"What're you going to do, Judge?" Kai held Aeon's hand. "Kiss me?"

Aeon came closer to Kai. "I'm not just the judge," Aeon said, "I'm also the Jury, and executioner."

"Execute away."

Aeon inched closer to Kai's face. Kai closed his eyes and puckered his lips- only to feel Aeon's lips kiss his cheek.

"Wh-Hey! Why not on the lips!?" Kai shouted.

Aeon smiled as he walked ahead.

"I said I'd kiss you." Aeon said. "I never said where I'd kiss you. Besides, it's not much of a punishment if I just give you what you want."

"He's got ya there," Arven said.

"Argh..! Stupid..! Handsome..! GAH!" Kai ran after Aeon. Arven chuckled.

"Hey- don't leave your third wheel behind!" Arven shouted.

"Hey!" Kai twirled around and shouted at Arven. "You're not the third wheel!"

"I am," Arven said.

"He is," Aeon said, turning around.

"Hey! Don't say that to him!" Kai said, twirling back to Aeon. "I mean, I knew that too, but- dang. Just brutally honest today, huh?"

"When am I not brutally honest?" Aeon asked with a shrug.

"Don't worry- I'm totally okay with it," Arven said. "I get a front row seat to watch you two mess with each other. Well, more like watch Aeon mess with you, Kai."

"Wha- I can get him sometimes!" Kai cried.

"No, you can't." Aeon said.

"Yes, I can!"

"No, you can't." Arven said.

"Hey!" Kai shouted.

Arven and Aeon started laughing as Kai glared, and then started laughing a bit himself, too.

Turo and Sada watched Kai and Arven laughing through Aeon's point of view.

A smile came to their faces.

Author's note: All of the changes that happen in this story that deviate from the original story... is all because of Aeon's existence. He's also the reason why the Gym Leaders are going hard-mode on Kai. I wonder what will happen because of that...

Fun fact: I was originally planning to have this chapter end at the point where I put in my note suggesting for you to take a break. I figured that if I ended it there, it'd be a liiiiiitle too depressing for fans of our baby boy Aeon. So I jammed two chapters into one. Will this mean you'll wait two weeks for the next one? LMAO no. I'll be back next week as always.

Take care! And don't do any time traveling!
