Disenchantment Sagas Chapter 55 – Demon time Part 3
The sun beamed through Bean's curtains into her room. Luci opened his eyes and lifted his head from Bean's bedsheets. He sits up, yawns, stretches and looks at the empty spot where Bean slept. Luci noticed that Bean had wrapped him in her covers. Luci gets out of the bed and leaves her room. "Yeah… I'm never doing that again…" He told himself. "I swear I thought she was going to squeeze me to death…" He shivered. Luci would hear the voices of Bean and Elfo down the stone halls. Their conversation was soon followed by laughing with other unfamiliar voices. Luci walked around the corner and entered the dining room. He gasped. Sitting with Bean and Elfo were Fuscu, Eligor, and Pazuzu. "W-What the hell?" He said, shocked.
Fuscu grinned. "There he is! I was wondering when you were going to wake up!"
"Heeeey Lucciii," said Pazuzu, fluttering his fingers at him. "Did you sleep well?"
"F-Fuscu, Eligor…Pazuzu, I thought you guys left…" Luci's eyes darted at each of them.
Fuscu chuckled. "Well, we thought about it and decided that our super awesome uber-demon wings were tired from all our fantastic adventures. So, we decided to return and stick around for a while!"
"O-Oh… that's great," said Luci, trying to hide the nervousness in his voice.
"I know, right?" said Eligor, wrapping his tail around Luci to bring him closer. "We have a lot to catch up on, old friend!" He grinned as Luci had a worried look on his face.
"I never knew you had such cool friends, Luci!" said Bean. "We've been sitting here all morning listening to all the stories about you guys in high school and college!"
"I had no idea hell had a school and college," said Elfo.
"Oh yes, I had a wonderful time there. The romance was very spicy if you know what I mean," said Pazuzu, grinning.
"Ugh, oh my god," Eligor rolled his eyes.
"Eligor always walked in on me when I was having private time with a few of my exes. Demons never knock before entering, so I guess I can't blame him,"
"It was every day you had someone over!" Eligor glared.
"Ah yes, I miss the college days," Pazuzu smiled warmly.
"Hey, do you guys want to ditch this place and head to the bar?" Bean asked.
"I wouldn't mind that!" said Fuscu, smiling innocently at the princess. "We could go for a few drinks! But first, why don't you give us a tour of the castle?"
Bean laughed. "You want a tour of this shabby old castle?"
"Well, if we're going to stay here, I'd like to know where everything is!" Fuscu replied. "And trust me—this place seems to be better than the castles we're used to freeloading in—I mean, hang around!"
"Well, ok, then, follow me, boys!" said Bean.
"Come on, Luci, let's go have some fun!" said Eligor, grinning as he dropped Luci and followed Bean and Elfo.
As soon as the demons stepped out of the room, they stopped dead in their tracks, and their eyes widened. Koga was walking towards them with his attention on a piece of paper.
Bean would greet him. "Heey Koga!"
"Hm?" Koga looks up from his paper. "Oh, hey, Bean," he said. He then placed his eyes on the three demons. "What's with the oversized Luci's?"
Pazuzu smiles smitenly at Koga. "Heeeey…"
"These are Luci's old high school buddies, Fuscu, Eligor and Pazuzu!" said Bean. "They're going to be staying here for a bit!"
"Uh-huh," said Koga, putting his attention back on his paper. "That's interesting."
"Are you still trying to write that letter to Freya?" Bean asked. "You've been at it for days."
"Shh, I'm concentrating," Koga began scribbling something down on the paper and pausing. "No…that's not it."
"You can come up with something on the way to the bar. Come on," said Bean, her arm around Koga and pulling him forward.
"You're not asking me to come because you want me to carry you back home, right?"
"Whaaaat? Nooo, of course not!"
Eligor and Pazuzu continued following them before Fuscu pulled them back. "You three go on ahead! We'll catch up!" Fuscu said as Bean, Koga, and Elfo walked off. Fuscu, Pazuzu and Eligor huddled up as Luci listened in, his tail still, tightly wrapped around him. "Ok…I had no idea that big bastard was here…" He whispered to them.
"I know, right?" said Pazuzu. "Did you see how big his arms were?"
"Focus!" said Fuscu. "Do you two know who that was? That was Koga the Wanderer!"
"That was Koga the wanderer? Oh my god, everything that people were saying was true. Long black hair, emerald eyes, and handsome face!" Pazuzu gushed.
'Pazuzu, focus, damn it! We need to be careful when we snoop around! We don't want to be killed by him!" stated Fuscu.
"Uhh…what exactly are you guys up to?" Luci asked.
The three Uber demons look over at Luci. "Oh, Luci," said Fuscu, "We didn't see you there."
"I forgot I had him tied up," said Eligor.
"Actually," Fuscu stares down at Luci. "You can be of some help to us, Luci. On the way to the bar, I want you to tell us every little detail about this castle AND the princess."
"Trust me, guys, there's nothing to tell about her. She's so damn boring, you know," said Luci, trying to play it cool. "Like she's so bland and average. You wouldn't want anything to do with her."
"Is that right?" said Fuscu, clasping his left hand around Luci's neck. "You do know I can tell you're lying, right?"
"Oh right…I forgot you can do that…" Luci gagged.
"I'll ask you again, Luci…do you care about the princess?" Fuscu asked. He looked directly into Luci's eyes.
"N-No…Of course not…I wanna do my job, that's all…" Luci replied timidly.
"You better not…" said Fuscu. "You know something, Luci. It's a good thing we showed up. There's a lot we can do to help out with your job. But first, let us go get wasted!"
"Finally…" said Pazuzu.
And so, the three uber demons and Luci left the castle and flew to the bar.
When the demons arrived at the bar, Bean was already downing her third mug of ale, seeing this made Fuscu happier. Fuscu would question Bean more and more about her personal life and the castle itself. Luci was quiet throughout the conversation, and Elfo noticed this.
"You ok, Luci? You've been pretty quiet today," The elf asked.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," Luci replied quietly.
"You sure?"
"Will you get off my back already!" Luci glared at the elf.
"Jeez, fine, be that way," Elfo looked away from Luci and listened in on Fuscu and Bean's conversation.
"So Bean…Luci told me that you had some issues with your older brother. I'm soooo sorry to hear that," said Fuscu, putting on the best-concerned tone he could. "What made you two get on bad terms?"
"Ooooh…hiiim..." The princess hic-ups. "Jeeez, I don't know where to begin…he used to love me, now he hates me, and I hate him, and he threw me away to focus on being a lousy king like my lousy dad!" She let out another hic-up. "I wish Mom was here to see how much of a dick he and Dad became!"
Fuscu grinned. "Ooooh…your mom passed away? I'm sooo sorry!"
Bean chugs her ale. "Yeaah…it happened when I was little…some murdered her…" She hic-ups again. "HEY BARTENDER! FILL HER UP!"
Koga looks over at her. "That's enough, Bean," He placed his hand over the mug.
Bean looks over at Koga with one eye half closed. "I…I just started drinking! I'm not even drunk yet. Let go of my mug!" She placed her hand over his in a futile attempt to remove it from the mug.
"Time to go, Bean," The wanderer replied, getting up. He placed his hand around her arm.
"Nooooo one moooore!" said Bean, trying to pull away from Koga. "I'm a princess! You can't do thisss!" She kept fighting against Koga. In no time, Bean would give up, pass onto Koga's chest, and snore.
"Ugh…I swear," Koga sighed and picked her up, placing her around his back, piggyback.
"So, what are you like, her personal knight or something?" Fuscu asked, staring at Koga, trying to read him.
"I'm not a knight," Koga replied as he walked out of the bar, and Elfo and Luci followed along.
"See you soon, Luci!" said Fuscu, chuckling mischievously. He turns back to Eligor and Pazuzu. "Alright, boys, tonight we do some snooping around. Do what I said on the way to the bar. Keep your magic sense open. And when you get something, follow it!"
"What are we doing this for again?" Eligor asked.
"I told you, something is in that castle that's given me the itch!" said Fuscu.
"You should get that checked out," said Pazuzu.
"Shut up!" Fuscu shouted. "Like I said…tonight…we snoop."
Eligor and Pazuzu looked at each other, shrugged, and decided to go along with whatever Fuscu asked.
"Hey Koga, Bean's drooling on your shoulder," said Elfo.
"I know Elfo, I feel it…" said Koga, annoyed. His annoyance would grow more as Bean began snoring in his ear. "You don't think I could just drop her off on the street, and it'll be ok?" Elfo looks over at Luci. Luci had his eyes lowered to the ground the whole time.
Luci looks at Elfo. "What are you looking at?"
"I just thought you were going to say something like, 'Oh yeah, do it do it do it! dump her on the side of the street!' Or something like that," said Elfo.
"Yeah, sure, whatever," said Luci, lowering his eyes again.
"Luci, seriously, what's wrong? It's weird not seeing you be mean, hurtful or always putting down my hopes and dreams," The Elf asked.
"You're constantly caring and worrying about my feelings is making me sick, Elfo," Luci said, irritated.
"Well, too bad, I am worried,"
"Well, too bad, I don't ca-" Luci went silent as they approached the entrance gate of Dreamland. Tavish stood at the entrance with his arms crossed and looked very furious.
"Oh, sup clone," said Koga.
"I've told you many times to stop calling me that…" said Tavish, as he placed his eyes on Luci. "Why am I hearing about 'Big Cats' in the castle?"
"Oh, those are Luci's friends from high school," Koga answered. "You're not going to hold them hostage and torture them for information, are you?"
"And make an even bigger explosion that'll possibly destroy the castle this time?" said Elfo, chiming in.
"Both of you be quiet!" Tavish shouts. He placed his eyes back onto Luci. "I don't know what you're planning, but I won't allow it to continue."
Bean snorts and slowly opens his eyes. "Why am I hearing annoying jackass with an annoying accent?" She rubs her eyes and sees her brother. "Oh, that said jackass, is my brother. What do you want?"
"To know why you've allowed three demons into this castle?"
"Because they're cool and fun to hang out with," said Bean. "That, and they aren't doing anyone any harm. So, get out of the way so I can continue blacking out in my room."
"You're not going anywhere till you tell me where these demons are,"
Bean glared at Tavish. She gets off from Koga's shoulders and wobbles over to Tavish. "I-I'm not going to tell you anything! And if you have a bone to pick with them OR Luci, you will have to deal with m-m-m!" At first, she covered her mouth to hold it in. But to no avail, Bean throws up onto Tavish's garb. Tavish looked at the torso of his royal green garments in disgust. He placed his eyes back on his sister, angered and shocked. Bean stared at her brother's garments with no empathy at all. "What? It's green! Nobody would even notice,"
"You…YOU…ARGH!" Tavish shouts in frustration as he storms off into the castle.
Bean scoffs. "Jeez, what a drama queen. Anyway, where was I? OH YEAH!" She falls forward and passes out.
Elfo, Luci and Koga stared down at her. Elfo and Luci then placed their eyes on Koga. Koga looks at them and says. "She's fine, right? I don't have to pick her up?" Elfo would cross his arms and squint his eyes at Koga. Koga groaned. "Fine…" He bends down to pick her up. "I don't get paid enough for this shit…" He mumbled.
From afar, the uber-demon trio watched as they walked into the castle. Fuscu would rub his chin. "So…that's the brother, huh? Hahaha…I have to delve into his mind at some point…" He smirks. "Ok…let's head out. Search every nook and cranny that you can get into."
"I don't think my thighs can handle that," said Pazuzu.
"Oh, for the love of—JUST DO IT!" Fsucu snapped.
"Fiiine," Pazuzu rolled his eyes.
The three would sprout their wings and fly off into the castle for its secrets.
