Disenchantment Sagas Chapter 56 – Demon Time Part 4
The following day and through the evening, the uber-demon trio had spent the remainder of their time snooping around the castle. The three of them had searched every nook and cranny of the castle and couldn't find out what the tingly feeling was. Well, the only one who was worried about it was Fuscu. Pazuzu and Eligor didn't care too much about the feeling and ignored it till Fuscu brought it up for the millionth time. Luci, unfortunately, was subjected to being the Uber trio's servant. Every time they needed something, Luci would obey them. While doing this, they would insult and belittle Luci any chance they got. Just now, Luci asked to bring some drinks from the bar and travel all the way back to the castle.
"Too slow!" Fuscu snapped. He tail-whipped Luci and knocked him to the ground, making him spill all the drinks. "If you had wings, you'd get here sooner!"
Luci chuckled. "Y-yeah! Being a sub demon is pretty rough," He gets to his feet and dusts himself off.
"I wouldn't know. I wasn't a sub-demon for long," said Fuscu. "We're hungry now. Go get something to eat."
"Sure thing!" said Luci. Once he turned around, Fuscu kicked Luci in the butt, knocking him to the ground. Fuscu let out a loud laugh, and Luci laughed along with him. "Hahah! Nice one, Fuscu!" He gets to his feet and continues around the corner but stops once he faces Elfo. Elfo stood there with his arms crossed and stared at Luci disappointedly.
Luci glared at Elfo. "What?" He asked aggressively.
"You know what," said Elfo.
"No, I don't," Luci replied. "All I see is an ugly Elf standing in my way and annoying me."
"Those demons aren't your friends, are they?"
"What are you on about? Yes, we're friends!"
"They certainly don't treat you like a friend would. Kicking you around, ordering you to get drinks and food and then belittle every chance they get!"
"Oh please," Luci rolls his eyes. "We're demons! That's what we do!"
"So you're saying you enjoy being the butt of the joke to them?"
"I'm not the butt of the joke!" Luci yelled. "I make fun of them too!"
"Like how you tried too earlier, and they played volleyball with you and knocked you into a waste bin?" Elfo reminded him.
"That was fun!" Luci shouted
"No, It wasn't fun! And I know you didn't like that!" Elfo shouted back.
"And how the hell would you know that?!"
"Because you always do it to me!" Elfo unfolded his arms and clenched his tiny fist. He held up his left hand and began counting the number of times Luci had made fun of him and laughed at his expense. "You hit me with your tail constantly, shoot down my feelings, make fun of how I look—"
Luci laughs. "Oh yeah, I sure do that all the time with you,"
"And now that it's happening to you, you're in denial," Elfo smirked at Luci.
"Excuse me?" Luci's eyes widened. "I'm not in denial about anything. And I wouldn't think an Elf would understand what demons feel because demons don't feel anything! Now stay out of my business, Elfo!" He shoved him out of the way and continued down the hallway.
"You can't hide your feelings from me!" Elfo called out to him.
Throughout the day, Elfo would continue to observe Luci and the uber-demon trio. Not only did he see the mistreatment of his friend but also their suspicious movement throughout the castle. Elfo witnessed Fuscu wrap his tail around Luci's waist and repeatedly bump his head into the stone ceiling, and later on, he saw Fuscu toss Luci out of the window. Elfo continued to spy on the uber demons and saw them snoop around certain parts of the castle. Elfo hated how nobody noticed these demons rummaging around the castle and decided to tell Bean. Bean was in her room with bunty, trying on her bright pink dress. But to no surprise, Bean was not listening.
"Not now, Elfo," said Bean, frustrated. "I'm in the middle of coming up with slick insults I can say towards Annabel."
"But Bean, they're up to something! They've been snooping around the castle looking for something!" said Elfo.
"They said they wanted to know the castle, so let them. You're starting to sound like Tavish," said Bean, side-eyeing Elfo. "You're not going to try to blow them up, are you?"
Elfo gave up on trying to convince Bean. So, he decided to seek out Koga. He checked the knight's barracks and found him lying in bed, still trying to write that letter to Freya.
"Koga, I need to talk to you!" The Elf said, hurrying into the room. "Those demons are up to something! I know you've seen them snooping around the castle!"
"Hey Elfo, should I tell her what I eat? Or should I tell her how often I sleep?" Koga rubbed his chin, pondering the thought.
Elfo groaned. "Kooooogaaaa!" He stomped his feet repeatedly.
"Yes, Elfo, I hear you," Koga looks at him. "I'm not sure what they're doing, but stick to watching them. Make sure you don't draw too much attention to yourself."
"Got it!" Elfo salutes Koga, and he hurries out of the room.
Elsewhere, Fuscu was becoming frustrated. No matter how much he searched, he couldn't find what he sought. It was time to meet back up with Eligor and Pazuzu. Fuscu flew down the halls and eyed every corner for his fellow demon friends. He stops flight, seeing a cupboard open and Eligor falling out of it.
"Is this where you were the whole time?" asked Fuscu, staring down at him.
"Yes and no," Eligor replied, getting to his feet. "I got hungry, and I began rummaging around for food. This place is so weird. Who puts nails this weird piece of string on a potato?" He holds up said potato. "What a waste of good starch."
Fuscu slaps the potato out of his hand. "Did you find what I asked to look for?" He asked, crossing his arms and looking sternly at Eligor.
"Nope, I got bored and hungry," Eligor replied. "I don't even know what I'm looking for, Fuscu. Your obsession with this is confusing."
"I'm telling you, whatever is here is very important! Now, where is Pazuzu?!" Fuscu looks around. "PAZUZU!" He shouts.
"I think someone is calling for you…"
"Ignore him. Now, where were we?"
Fuscu's ears perked, and he looked forward to another door in the hallway. He walks forward and opens the door. Pazuzu was in the arms of a man with blond hair and a fit body named Seamus. He looks at the two demons and fixes the collar on his white shirt. "I-I…uh…I'll see you around Pazuzu!" He hurries out of the broom closet.
"Seamus, wait!" Pazuzu called out to him. He sighed and then glared at Fuscu. "Thanks a lot, Fuscu…it was just getting good!"
"Is this what you've been doing all day?!" Fuscu yelled. "Have you been searching for anything at all?!"
"I don't know what I'm looking for, Fuscu!" said Pazuzu. "We've searched and searched, but we can't find anything. It doesn't help that what you want us to look for is vague!"
Fuscu rubbed his face. "Whatever is in this castle is what I need! It'll help not only me but three of us!" He walks away from them with a frown on his face. Fuscus's ears would perk once again as he heard yelling coming from down the halls. The uber demons would follow the noise and stare into the living room. There stood Bean and Tavish. Fuscu smirked as he spies on the royal family. The energy this room was giving off felt so…familiar. That same familiar feeling that he was searching for all day.
"I told you not to talk to me!" Bean shouted at her twin brother. "So piss off! "
"I don't have time for your attitude, bean," said Tavish smugly. "We need to go over the introduction to this party."
"I don't need to go over anything, especially with you," said Bean bitterly.
Tavish sighs and rubs between his eyes. "Is this about that little demon you keep protecting?" He crossed his arms and stared at his sister.
"You mean the little demon you almost blew up?!" Bean glared.
"That wasn't my fault. I didn't know someone would be on the other side," The Prince explained.
"I don't want to hear it!" The Princess snapped.
"Of course, you don't," Tavish walked past her. "It's like talking to a brick wall…" He whispered and left the room. The uber demons hid above as they watched him walk off.
Bean glared at her brother and clenched her fist. She lets out a yelp when a strand of electricity coursed through her fingers. "Ow!" She stared at her hand. "Well, it's been a while since that's happened…"
Fuscu, who was watching Bean, let out a small gasp. He, Eligor, and Pazuzu stayed hidden until Bean left the living room. The three entered the living room, and Fusucu looked as if he just found gold. Fuscu began laughing and pacing around the room in excitement.
"Did you guys see that?!" Fuscu exclaimed. "I knew it! I knew there was something fishy going on around this castle! Did you guys see that? That magic!"
"What about it?" asked Eligor.
"You mean to tell me you two don't feel the resemblance from that?" Fuscu asked frantically.
"Fuscu, you're the only one with heightened magic senses, so no. We can barely feel anything at times. What in the world are you so obsessed about that's here?" asked Pazuzu, fed up with Fuscu's vagueness.
"Alright, Alright!" Fuscu caved in. "Ever since we arrived here, I've felt something strange about this castle. I felt two forms of magic, one from that girl and one I could feel around the castle. The magic that girl has feels just like the magic from hell…"
Pazuzu and Eligor's looked at Fuscu in shock.
Eligor would then say, "Magic from hell? How in the world does she have magic from hell? That shouldn't be possible,"
"Well, that's what it seems like. If the Princess has magic similar to hell, the Prince might also have it," said Fuscu.
"Well, alright then, they have magic that feels like it's from hell. What does that have to do with you or us?" Pazuzu asked.
"Think about this," Fusucu began. "What If we used the Princess and the Prince to possess their bodies and use the magic they hold and take over hell!"
Pazuzu and Eligor let out gasped. But they weren't the only ones who gasped. Luci was listening in on the Uber demon's conversation. Luci quickly covered his mouth and was about to run before a tail wrapped his waist and yanked him into the living room. Fuscu smirked at Luci. "And you're going to help us achieve this goal, Luci," He said.
"Fuscu…" said Eligor, seriously. "Do you have any idea what you just said? You want to take over hell?"
"Yes!" said Fuscu, snapping his eyes onto Pazuzu. "What's the problem?"
"What's the problem?!" Pazuzu shouted. "Have you lost your mind? Do you think that because two humans have power similar to hell, we can walk back to hell and take it over?!"
"YES!" Fuscu yelled. "IT'S ALL WE NEED!"
"You've lost it," said Eligor. "Why do you even want to take over hell anyway? I thought the point of leaving hell was to do our own thing. Now you want to go back? Why do you even have an interest in taking over hell?"
"It's all I've ever wanted. The throne, the air conditioning, the food, the hot devil ladies, a parking spot close to work, a button that sends in secretaries, and a cosy leather chair!" Fuscu went on. "It can all be mine when I kill satan!"
Pazuzu and Eligor stared at Fuscu, dumbfounded. Luci, however, didn't seem all that surprised.
"Well…to be fair, I heard that he has the best chair in hell," said Luci.
"See? I told you!" said Fuscu.
Pazuzu just shook his head. "Why are you suggesting this for Fuscu? Is this because of the incident with Asmodium?"
Fuscu narrowed his eyes at Pazuzu and spoke slowly. "I told you not to talk about that…"
Pazuzu glared at Fuscu. "And I'm going to tell you…I'm taking part in this."
"Are you challenging me?"
"No, I'm not challenging you. I'm just telling you that I'm not going back to hell. I like it here! It's nice! Minus the plague and everyone thinking we're cats. But besides that, we finally found a place where nobody would chase us off! And the Princess is lovely too! We can finally stop running away Fusc—AHH!"
Fuscu picked up Pazuzu by his shoulders and pinned him against the wall. Fuscu looked Pazuzu directly in his eyes and spoke threateningly. "You listen to me…if it weren't for me, you'd be a pathetic worm! You AND Eligor! You will help me with this, do you understand me? I'm going to possess the Princess, and YOU-" He placed his eyes on Eligor. "You will take the Prince. Understand?"
Pazuzu and Eligor looked at each other. Eligor seemed frightened and taken aback by the sudden shift in Fuscu's personality. He had always had a temper, but now, he was acting differently. He finally showed his true colours. He focused on Pazuzu, "You have a talent for bringing out the worst emotions in humans, Pazuzu. Make sure to spice things up with the Prince and Princess. Understand?!"
"Y-yes Fuscu…o-ok…" Pazuzu nodded.
Fuscu glares at Eligor.
"S-Sure…fine…" Eligor replied, nodding as well.
"Good," said Fuscu, letting Pazuzu go. "I'm glad we all have agreed. Now, Luci" He turned to the sub-demon. "You're going to go and tell the Princess that Prince had hurt you. Once she's angry, she's going to confront him. Their negative emotions will make possessing them easier."
"F-Fuscu…come on, man, you know you can't get away with a plan that big!" said Luci.
"I don't care what you think I can't get away with. I want you to do what I say, Or—" Fuscu slithered and used his tail to reach outside the door, wrapped it around Elfo, who was eavesdropping on them, and pulled him into the room. "The Elf here is going to be a delicious meal for me. I should close the door when it comes to having private conversations."
"Come on, you wouldn't eat cute little elf like me, would you?" said Elfo, terrified.
"I've eaten worse," Fuscu replied. "Anyways…what's it going to be, Luci? "
Luci stared at Elfo and then at Fuscu.
There was only one decision he could choose in a situation like this.
Bean returned to her room after the spat with her brother. She lay in bed with her flask in hand. She took occasional sips of her flask, trying to get over her argument with Tavish. She burps, then places the flask on her counter, slowly rises from her bed, and sighs. "Ok…that's enough moping around…" As she gets to her feet, Luci stumbles into her room, making fake groans of pain.
"LUCI!" The Princess cried, hurrying over to Luci and picking him up. "Luci, what happened?!"
"I-It was Tavish…he found me and shot me with lighting again…" Luci coughed.
"WHAT?" Bean's eyes widened. Bean felt a rush of rage course through her. She placed Luci on the bed and rushed out of the room.
Tavish was sitting at his desk, writing down notes as usual. Then, Bean kicked down the door to his room, and she stepped in with her fist tightly clenched. Tavish didn't turn around to face her. "You better have a good reason for kicking in my door, sister," He said calmly.
Bean walks over to Tavish, yanks him out of his chair and pins him against the wall. Bean glares into Tavish's blue eyes. "Why the hell did you attack Luci again? I told you to stay away from him!" She yells.
Tavish looked at Bean, puzzled. "What the hell are you talking about? I wasn't anywhere near that little fiend!"
"Luci came into my room hurt! I know you did something to him!"
"He's lying!" Tavish yelled back and shoved Bean away. "That demon is lying to you! How in the hell can you be so gullible?!"
"Um, let's see. You kidnapped Luici and nearly blew him up! That, and it's you, Tavish!"
"For the last time, I didn't know that someone on the other side would be interfering!" Tavish shot back. "And you know what…I'd gladly get rid of that demon! He's messed with your mind and is turning you against your family!"
"Turning me against my family? Since when the hell did you ever care about family? The only love you show is with those asshole nobles and stupid woman Annabel!" Bean ranted.
Fuscu, along with Eligor and Pazuzu, were hidden within the room. Fuscu watched the twins go back and forth with each other as he gave the queue for Pazuzu to amp up the anger. Pazuzu waved his hand around, and red dust filled the air.
Tavish would feel his anger grow as he clenched his fist. "I'm so sick of you constantly attacking me for putting the kingdom first. I'm doing my job as a prince! You would know what that means if you put in the effort to do anything besides being a no-good drunk!"
Bean clenched her fist. "If putting in work in royal duties means becoming a piece of crap like you who throws away all of the people that loves you. I'd rather leave for good and never come back!" She spat.
Fuscu silently laughs. "Yes…Yess…"
Tavish glared a few sparks swarm around his hands. "I'm so glad Mother is not here to see you…she would be so damn disgusted and disappointed…"
Bean's eyes widened. "W-What did you just say?" She sounded as though all of the air was sucked out of her body.
"I said," Tavish took a step forward. "That mother would see you as a worthless, disgusting, slobbering disappointment!" He yelled.
At that moment, Bean felt a flurry of emotions. She was angry, then sad, and then numb. But in seconds, it was replaced with white-hot anger. Tears were beginning to form, and to Tavish's shock, he could see the black and blue lightning surge around Bean's body.
"You know what Tavish…" Bean said slowly. "You don't love me…you don't love dad…or Hilda, Bunty, OR ANYONE!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. "AND I DON'T LOVE YOU TAVISH! I HATE YOU!"
At that moment, Fuscu and Eligor made their move. They leapt down from above and lunged onto Bean and Tavish. The two uber demons fought to enter the twin's bodies. Eligor had nearly taken Tavish's body, but Tavish would use his magic to repel Eligor from his body. Eligor screamed in pain and rushed out of the room in fear. Tavish coughed violently while slowly getting to his feet. He looked forward and saw Bean on her hands and knees.
"B-Bean…" The Prince whispered. All of his anger had suddenly vanished. "Bean, are you ok?"
Bean slowly raised her head and looked at Tavish.
His blue eyes met her bright red ones.
