Hi everyone, Happy New Year! Before we begin, I'm aware that not everyone particularly approved of some of the choices I made in my previous chapter, and I plan to address those concerns now in a way that I hope you can understand.
One thing that I want to say first before I get into that… and I've said this before many times on several of my stories… PLEASE DON'T ARGUE THROUGH MY REVIEWS! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you disagree with it. Keep it professional. Any hateful slurs or comments in my reviews and I will have you blocked. I can tolerate and even appreciate any constructive criticism you give me, but I will not accept any unjust insults simply because you disagree with someone else here.
First off, many of you didn't like that I had the possibility of Jiemma being a rapist, when he was already a piece of shit in the canon, and you all felt this was unnecessary. Maybe it was, but let's take a look at Jiemma character: he's ruthless and he aims for the top and is willing to do whatever it takes to get up there, even resorting to physical and emotional abuse of not only his subordinates, but also his own daughter. He doesn't care about following the rules or anything like that, he even joined Tartaros, one of the top three dark guilds in the series, after the events of the Grand Magic Games. Jiemma is a sociopath who is the living representation off the whole 'survival of the fittest' rule, the law of the jungle. In real life, male tigers will kill the cubs of a rival and then mate with that same female to father their own if they had the chance, and I see Jiemma doing something like that if it serves his ambitions. I also understand that rape is indeed a sensitive subject, but if you would recall back at the Tenrou Island arc, Zancrow almost rapped Lisanna and Wendy to death all just to spite Natsu. Fortunately, it didn't happen, but I don't really recall anyone making a serious complaint about that like what's happening here. Both Jiemma and Zancrow are total pieces of shit, the only real difference between them is that Zancrow has an insane smile while Jiemma never smiles, that and Zancrow was part of a Mundus-worshiping cult, but you get the idea. And speaking of, this story has covered multiple attempts at genocide, has had actual cults in it, and we even had a moment where Jellal admitted that he actually considered suicide, which is a very serious topic right there too. If I meant any offense by this, I deeply apologize as it was not my intent to sound insensitive, I know rape is a very serious topic, and I don't plan on making rape, or the mention of rape, an ongoing occurrence in my story.
Secondly, many people complained about my choice to have Dante storm Sabertooth in response to Yukino's expulsion instead of Natsu. Yes, I really enjoyed that moment in the canon, and Natsu was more than willing to go here too, but they had another job to do and that was to protect Yukino. Dante had more of a personal investment here as he promised Sorano that he'd look out for her sister, so it made sense that he'd be the one to go on the attack. Now, as for why I didn't have Natsu and Dante together, it would defeat the purpose of the whole thing. If Natsu and Dante double-teamed Jiemma, they would have likely wiped the floor with him, but that wouldn't have intimidated Sabertooth at all. The fact that one guy, who their strongest member (Vergil) speaks highly enough is able to storm Sabertooth and knock their master down a peg, is enough to have those uptight bastards quaking in their boots, which happened with Sting who was actually frightened by Dante's display of power. If it were two people, it wouldn't have been as intimidating to them as they would see it that the Salamander and Son of Sparda (both were considered legends seven years prior) needed help and it wouldn't affect them much at all.
But one thing I don't understand is why everyone is upset that Dante withdrew for Happy's sake. Why? Maybe it felt like a repeat of the canon, but Dante cares for Happy. He doesn't have the same kind of bond as Happy does with Natsu, but they are part of the same guild and Dante sees him as family like everyone else in Fairy Tail. I thought it would be obvious.
Third, my choice to have Erza do Pandemonium like in canon. While Pandemonium would indeed by up Dante's and Nero's alley as they are Devil Hunters, but Nero had his moment when he fought Jura in Day 1, but that's not to say he won't have more moments to shine in this arc, because he will. And Erza said it herself that if Dante went to participate, it would complicate things with Sabertooth, something Dante agreed with. But more importantly, this was one of Erza's best moments in the canon and I didn't want to change that, and as I said in my notes on the previous chapter, I am adding some additional content here due to Erza's three months of training, which she and her group had done this time around as opposed to the whole Spirit-World-Party crap thing like in the canon. And there is also one other reason, it's to show everyone watching the games, including the other participating guilds (notably Sabertooth) that it's not just Dante they gotta watch out for. Fairy Tail has plenty of aces in their ranks, and Erza is most certainly one of them, and for good reason. She's the strongest female wizard in Fairy Tail, and her taking on Pandemonium will show everyone that Fairy Tail has no shortage of powerhouses.
And when Dante participates in the games, and he will, I plan on giving him the moment he deserves as he showcases just how stronger he's become.
Oh, and as for why I chose to make Kurenai the adoptive mother of Kagura… I only felt that it was right as Kagura was freaking orphaned as a kid! So, what happened to her after the Cult of Zeref attacked her home? Did she wonder around by herself? Seriously, what is it with this series that has orphaned kids traveling the world by themselves without any adult supervision? It also kinda makes Kagura a foil to Mavis and Zera, and even Dante and Vergil (in different ways for each of them) given that Sparda is their father.
Now, I hope this addresses all of your concerns and you better understand why I wrote my story the way I did. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me and I will get back to you when I can.
There's No Stopping Us!
Mato gave a nervous laugh as he saw Erza face the Pandemonium castle, still processing her decree to face all one hundred monsters that lay inside.
"Y-you don't seriously mean to challenge all the monsters at once, do you? We've designed this event to be completed by multiple wizards!"
"I don't care." Erza said simply as she walked up the staircase and directly into the castle.
The moment she entered the castle, the entrance was closed off, as per the rules that nobody is allowed to leave until they've defeated the select number of monsters they've chosen. She then took a moment to observe the layout of the room she was currently in. It resembled like the grand hall of any typical castle, with the usual gothic architecture… except for the fact that it was completely upside down as she appeared to walk on the ceiling with the floor hanging above her, the chandelier in the center of the room pointing directly upward.
Everyone outside was able to see everything through the lacrima screens shown all throughout the arena.
"I'm worried…" Lucy muttered.
"Weird, it looks like it's bigger on the inside somehow." Gray commented.
"I'm kinda focusing more on how it's all upside down." Dante said.
Natsu's cheeks bulged. "Just looking at it makes me wanna blow chunks…!"
Erza walked into the center of the chamber. "I am Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail's Team A. I will face one hundred!"
The moment she made that declaration, several of the monsters had suddenly appeared around her. Most of them seemed like the D-Class monsters she's seen before with several C-Class ones joining the fray, all of them bearing dark red armor and each one having the shape of a T-Rex.
"Is she sure she can take on that many?" Wendy asked with worry.
"Even the weakest ones look deadly, do you think she's got a plan?" Lucy asked in the same tone.
"Don't ask me." Gray replied. "I can't understand what goes on in her head."
"I can." Natsu smirked. "This is nothing."
"Yeah, this is freaking Erza we're talking about." Dante grinned as well. "She's got this."
"I wouldn't be taking on that many at once." Juvia commented while Mira just waved cheerfully in support of Erza.
"Yeah, maybe she bit off more than she can chew." Nero said with concern.
"She'll get through it somehow." Gajeel said.
"That's the spirit. Just relax and watch her go to work." Laxus said with a confident smile.
Doranbolt sat in the audience and looked with an unsurprised expression. 'There's that famous recklessness. Those seven years on Tenrou Island didn't change them as much as I'd feared.'
The observing Fairy Tail watched with their own expressions as several were concerned, while those like Lady, Trish, and Gildarts didn't seem the least bit worried. Lisanna however caught notice of Jellal's expression beneath his mask and could tell that he was worried.
"Hey, she'll be alright." She said to him with an assuring smile. "Erza's faced impossible odds before, and she's always come out on top. You of all people should know that."
Though surprised at first, Jellal smiled underneath his mask. "Of course, you're right."
Inside the castle, all the monsters in the area lunged at Erza to try and devour her, but she was ready. "Requip! Heaven's Wheel!" Donning her most famous armor, Erza had leapt into he air to cut down a few D-Class monsters before landing on the chandelier in the middle of the chamber and attacked. "Scattered Petals!" She launched a volley of swords at the monsters all around her, seventeen D-Class monsters were wiped out by that single shot. As several of them were cut down by that one attack, Erza noticed something small move in-between each of her blades.
"Holy moly! Erza Scarlet wastes no time and attacks with full force!" Chapati commentated. "It's raining destruction as the D-Class horde falls one after the other.
"Whoa, it's like she tried to wipe them all out at once!" Romeo stated.
"No, she was gauging their strength." Modeus shook his head.
"Indeed." Sparda confirmed. "It's a basic way to measure how strong your opponent is, now she has an idea of how to handle this."
"That's our girl." Gildarts grinned.
In a flash of light, Erza had switched into her Black Wing armor and flew throughout the chamber, using her sword to cut down any monster that came her way, focusing mostly on the D-Class first. With a single slice, she had already cut down four of them.
"Her strength just sky-rocketed." Lily observed.
"Her Black Wing Armor!" Happy grinned. "When she wears it, all her attacks get a jumbo boost of power!"
"Maybe but that's not her strongest armor, she's still got plenty up her sleeve." Trish commented.
"That's smart." Carla said. "She's pacing herself, using what she can to cut down the cannon fodder to avoid expending all her energy."
Erza sliced her sword to cut down a D-Class before flying through its vanishing remains to slice up a C-Class. She noticed another C-Class coming right at her to blast a ball of fire from its mouth, but she saw that coming the second she saw smoke coming from its mouth.
"Did that thing just shoot fire?!" Lucy exclaimed.
"No! Erza!" Wendy looked with worry as that attack did look like it hit.
"So, the bigger ones use magic, huh?" Gray observed.
"Don't worry about it, she can handle a little fire." Natsu brushed off. Dante however grinned as he had a good idea of what was coming next.
It was true, right before the attack had hit, Erza had switched to her Flame Empress armor, which had protected her from the attack. She saw the C-Class was about to attack again, but she drew an aqua-colored sword to slash a wave of water that not only dosed the attack, but also slice the C-Class in half to destroy it.
"Her sword is different!" Patty noticed.
"Yep, that's from her Sea Empress Armor." Trish confirmed.
"She's able to use different armor and weapons together?" Even Makarov was surprised, never having seen this from Erza before.
Dante grinned. "Who do you think gave her that idea in the first place?"
Flashback
During their three months of training at the beach, Dante had drawn Agni and Rudra as he swung his blades to create a flaming-vortex attack to shoot directly at Erza. In response, Erza quipped into her Flame Empress Armor and blasted through the attack as she brought out her fire-sword and slashed at Dante, who blocked it with his dual Devil Arms, but he noticed something.
"Hold on, time out." Dante said, causing Erza to stop.
"Something wrong?" She asked.
"That armor protects you from fire-attacks, but that sword lets you attack with fire too, right?" Dante asked.
"That is correct." Erza confirmed.
"Why not mix it up a little bit?" Dante asked. "If you were up against Natsu with that, your armor would protect you his attacks, but he'd also eat yours up for breakfast. So, why not use a different weapon you got? I've seen how each of your armors got different weapons, why not pull them out? Like your lightning-spear with your fire-armor?"
Erza looked in surprise for a moment before looking to her own sword in contemplation.
"Wait, you're telling me you never even thought of something like that?" Dante asked, honestly surprised.
"Similar thoughts have occurred, yes. But I never gave it much thought." Erza replied. "But still… that would probably drain my magic energy faster."
"Well, that's why we're training." Dante pointed out. "We still got about two and a half months left till the games, that's plenty of time to master it. So… what do you say?" Dante grinned.
A smirk fell on Erza's face. "Your creativity never ceases to surprise me, Dante. Very well, let's do it."
End Flashback
"All that time training, plus Ultear's second origin… Erza's not only able to mix-match weapons and armor, she doesn't even have to worry about it draining her magic too fast." Dante maintained his grin. "That gives our girl even more tricks up her sleeve."
Using her Flame Empress armor for defense and her Sea Empress sword for offense, Erza was able to cut down two more of the fire-wielding C-Class monsters without receiving too much damage. Already, she had destroyed twenty-eight monsters, more than one quarter of the total one hundred, all in less than five minutes.
"Whoa mama! Five C-Classes down in mere seconds!" Chapati commentated as he and everyone else saw Erza running and leaving all around the chamber as several of the monsters gave chase.
'I can't stay in one place too long, or else they could overwhelm me. I have to stay on the move.' Erza thought as three D-Class attempted to surround her before attempting to pounce her, but Erza spun her body around to generate a circular wave of razor-sharp water from her sword to cut destroy them easily.
She had to stop for a mere second but saw several D-Class and C-Class about to get the jump on her, but she wasn't worried. While holding her Sea Empress sword in one hand, Erza had drawn her Flame Empress sword to dual wield. She spun her body around, taking a note from Dante's book on how he would wield Agni and Rudra, she had created a water vortex around her body with the force of a tsunami, adding extra literal firepower with her fire-sword. The result was a devastating explosion that blew away multiple monsters at once. The vortex vanished, revealing Erza looked only slightly exhausted, but she didn't appear the least bit injured.
"She can dual wield multiple magics now, huh? Not bad." Gildarts smirked.
"Go Erza! Show em what you can do!" Patty cheered.
A new monster appeared before Erza, this one being stronger and larger than the others so far. It was blue and took a more humanoid shape, but still walked on all fours and had a long tail. She was quick to take note of the moisture coming from its mouth.
"Are you the S-Class?" Erza asked, but the monster's response was only a roar as blue energy formed in its mouth. "Guess not, must be a B-Class then."
The energy shot from the B-Class monster appeared to be energized water. Erza switched out her Flame Empress armor for Sea Empress just before the attack hit, protecting her from the water-magic before pulling out the spear from her Lightning Empress armor as she shot straight through the attack with a surge of lightning generated at the tip, piercing through the monster and destroying it easily.
"Whoa! What was that!? What did she just do?!" Kyrie questioned.
"That's her Sea Empress armor and Lightning Empress spear." Lisanna explained. "Now she has water-defense and lightning for offense."
"Very good." Makarov nodded.
"She can make snap judgements on the fly, and nothing can make her lose focus!" Mavis looked with excitement.
"Most impressive." Sparda smiled. "That young woman is an amazing wizard.
Leaping along the walls as more B-Class monsters appeared before her, Erza braced herself to take on another long-ranged water attack before leaping into the air to spin her spear and send a large bolt of lightning to obliterate the one that attacked her before zooming forward, all while spinning her spear to generate a wheel of electricity around her and electrocute two B-Class as she moved in-between them. However, right as she skidded on the ground on her feet, a B-Class struck her to send her crashing to the wall.
Erza glared as she saw that B-Class as well as several D-Class ganging up on her. Deciding to change things up a bit, Erza's body was engulfed in a flash of light before she disappeared and re-appeared behind that very same horde before they were all destroyed in that one instant.
Gone was her previous armor and weapon. Now she was in her Flight Empress armor, wielding the massive black blade from her Purgatory armor.
"Whoa, how'd she move so fast?!" Nero questioned.
"Her Flight Armor gives her a tremendous boost in speed, and that's the sword from her Purgatory Armor, one of her strongest weapons." Mira explained.
"A speedy defense and a powerful offense." Laxus commented with an approved smile.
As she stood tall, Erza had already destroyed fifty two monsters total, more than half of the required amount, and she looked ready to keep on going.
"What finesse! What raw power! More than half of all of Pandemonium's monsters have already fallen!" Chapati commented.
"And our girl is still going." Cana grinned as she continued to watch alongside the other wizards competing in this event, all while drinking a bottle of liquor.
"That's insane!" Nobarly stated.
"Don't you mean wild?" Hibiki joked, but he couldn't take his eyes off this for a second.
"Her style is quite efficient." Jura observed. "Balancing strength and finesse."
Milliana happened to turn around and look back at the stands, making eye-contact with Sho and Wally from their respective spots as they all looked with mixtures of excitement and pride, truly in awe of their friend's performance.
Orga tisked in annoyance. "Are you kidding? You're really impressed with this chick? She's only taken out the weak ones. I bet she'll keel over any second."
Meanwhile, Vergil continued to watch from his spot with the rest of Team Sabertooth with a serious observation. 'Her newfound ability to use different armors and weapons together is indeed impressive. But she's only defeated a majority of cannon fodder, the strongest are still active.'
Erza took a few breaths as she had quickly moved into a long hallway to try and take on the remaining monsters in waves, but stopped for a moment as she saw a small horde already waiting for her. Several D, B, and C-Class monsters ran along the floor and walls toward her, but her focus was on the largest monster in the group. It was a massive beast shaped like a demonic gorilla with bright red skin.
"Ms. Scarlet's not out of the woods yet, folks!" Chapati went on. "Now she's about to face off against an A-Class monster!"
"Go get em Erza! Tear em to shreds!" Natsu called out to her.
"Is she gonna pull this off?" Gray was starting to look concerned.
"She's gotta be tired by now, and the hard part's still to come." Lucy said.
"Let her have her fun, I'm sure she knows what she's doing." Dante didn't once lose confidence in her.
As Erza ran along the walls to avoid the long-ranged attacks of the C-Class and B-Class, she took a moment to observe her current situation. 'They're not intelligent, they're just mindless beasts.' A smirk fell on her face as she saw the A-Class as an idea came to her. She leapt from her spot on the wall, using the speed from her Flight Armor to bypass all the monsters around her before standing before the A-Class and looked up to it with a smirk.
"Is that all you've got?" She taunted.
The A-Class gave a roar as it threw a punch toward Erza, which appeared to have smashed her. However, what really resulted was a powerful shockwave that blew away and obliterated all the monsters around her. Even the A-Class beast's fist had crumbled.
Meanwhile, Erza stood on her feet, clad in her Adamantine armor with one shield in her right arm, and her left hand holding the spear of her Giant Armor.
"Very clever…" Kurenai commented as she sat in the stands with Bruni standing and leaning against the wall behind her. "She had the strongest eliminate all the monsters around her, while also using its own strength against it."
Bruni chuckled. "Look at all those dropped jaws." He gestured towards the audience, including Doranbolt, as everyone, and even several of the competing wizards and Mato, looked in complete and utter shock and amazement. "This is one hell of a fight! I'm loving it!"
Erza then threw her Giant spear to not only pierce through the A-Class monster, but even send it flying and crashing through the wall, creating a large hole that led to the outside. Deciding to get more room and to fight out into the open, Erza leapt through the hole herself and made her way outside.
She ran along a twisted bridge, one of several that connected various parts of the castle. She spotted the same tiny black creature from before. But she also found herself facing another batch of B and D-Class monsters, the former ones attacking her with long-ranged water blasts.
Erza however quickly shifted to her Infinity Robe as she easily limboed underneath their blasts, drawing her Bisento in one hand and her Flame Empress sword in the other. Once she was close enough, Erza sliced her Bisento to cut down the D-Class that tried to lunge at her while also sending a wave of fire to bisect a B-Class. Another B-Class tried to strike at her, but Infinity Robe was much lighter than all her other armors, allowing her more mobility as she leapt to avoid the strike and sliced both weapons to easily cut that one monster down.
Everyone in the arena watched with anticipation as they saw the mighty Titania continue her work. Of course, those in her guild were cheering her own, as were all her friends and even a few rivals.
She noticed another A-Class monster running on the bridge below her before it leapt toward her. Erza then drew the swords from her Morning Star armor and gripped them to her feet as she used them to pierce into the wrist of the A-Class.
"Photon Slicer!" She shot a blast of energy from the swords on her feet, which she used to propel herself through the monster, slicing through its arm, while also drawing her Giant spear once again, pointing it forward and used the gathered momentum to shatter the A-Class monster's head and destroy it. She leapt backwards onto a ledge as she saw more beasts coming at her.
Erza then threw her Morning Star blades to create an explosion that blew away several of the monsters that came at her, while also allowing herself to gain some distance, landing on the nearest bridge. It didn't look like the monsters were about to give her a moment's rest as they tried to come at her from all sides, but she brought out the arm-shields from her Adamantine armor to block the attacks, while donning the Morning Star armor simultaneously to emit a bright golden light and blind all the monsters. She quipped into her Flight Armor once more and drew her Lighting Empress spear as she used a double dose of speed to slice and zap her way through the horde, cutting down as much as she could, while doing her best to conserve as much of her energy. Even as another A-Class landed behind her to try and crush her with both its fists, Erza used the speed of her armor and weapon to zip around one arm in twists and turns, slicing it completely before appearing behind it to throw her spear at the back of its neck to pierce through and destroy it.
However, even with all her tricks and talent, she felt a great deal of her magic power being drained. Her rapid swaps, and all the injuries she did sustain were starting to take their toll, but she wouldn't fall. Not now. Not ever.
"Titania cannot be stopped folks!" Chapati went on. "The monsters cannot keep up with her requips! One-by-one, even the most vicious of beasts fall before her! Whether she overpowers them, or uses their own strength against them, she keeps on going! Only four opponents remain!"
It was true. The chart showed that out of all the monsters she had left to take down, there were only two B-Class, one A-Class, and the S-Class.
"Yeah, but every single one of them is super powerful!" Lucy said with worry.
"She hasn't even seen the S-Class one yet either." Wendy added. "Why hasn't she used Armadura Fairy or Armadura Diabla yet?"
"Cause she might not need them." Natsu said with confidence. "These guys are nothing."
"That and she's keeping her cards close to her chest, kinda like what you did in your match." Dante said to his cousin. "If she has to bring her trump cards out, she will. But I don't think she needs to."
Gray grinned. "It kinda looks like she's having fun out there."
Erza spotted an A-Class hanging from a structure at the end of the bridge she was on and ran towards it. But that same tiny creature had leapt past her feet, which was noticed by Team B.
"Whoa." Juvia looked in surprise.
"You guys saw that, right?" Nero asked.
"What the hell was that thing?" Gajeel questioned while Mira and Laxus exchanged serious expressions.
The A-Class leapt at Erza, bringing down both its fists to try and crush her, but Erza had donned her Adamantium Armor once more, using her armor and shields to protect herself, take far less damage, as well as send all that damage to the bridge below her, causing it to crumble beneath her and the monster. She also noticed the last two B-Class coming at her, now was her chance.
*SLICE!*
Using only a single katana, and now clad in her Clear Heart clothing, Erza had leapt from one of the falling rocks and sliced the face A-Class in half, sending the rest of it to fall to its doom. As the B-Class ones were bout to pounce on her, she jumped up to decapitate one before cutting up the stomach of the second, killing them both in that one instant as she landed on one of the large chains connecting one two parts of the castle.
The entire audience and even her own guildmates looked with shaky eyes, almost not believing what they had just seen.
"Amazing… ninety-nine down!" Chapati couldn't catch his breath. "Only the S-Class monster remains! What sort of horror awaits our heroine!"
Erza turned around to spot that tiny creature again, this time standing still on a nearby ledge. It was a small black creature with a single eye, two yellow horns on its head, and four spider-legs. The audience saw it as well through the lacrima screens.
"Wait… what the…?" Chapati looked confused.
"Just as I thought… it was you all along." Erza pointed her katana at the creature.
"No way…!" Natsu couldn't believe it.
"That thing?!" He and Gray looked like they had just been told a bad joke.
"For a monster, it's actually pretty cute, don't ya think?" Wendy said with a smile.
Lucy however had a concerned and serious look as she glanced at her older cousin. "Dante?"
"Yeah…" He mirrored her expression as well, knowing what was coming next. "The real fight is just about to begin."
Erza switched weapons once more, while still using her Clear Heart clothing. She now wielded a crimson katana.
"Her Spectral Sword. Crimson Blossom." Modeus recognized the blade.
"Oh yeah, she's serious now." Lady stated.
"What's so special about that sword?" Patty asked.
"That's her probably most powerful katana." Lisanna explained. "She can only wield it if she doesn't have her armor."
"Forsaking all her defense and committing it all to offense." Trish's eyes narrowed.
"Wait… you mean that tiny thing is actually dangerous?!" Happy questioned.
"I'm sure she realizes the situation she's in now." Carla said.
"Agreed." Lily said as well. "Her body language says it all."
"This is it." Gildarts knew it was coming. "All or nothing. Don't let us down, Erza."
Erza glared at the tiny creature before issuing her challenge. "Come at me."
In response, the small monster's single eye widened as a bright purple light emitted from it, engulfing Erza before she and it all vanished in that one flash.
"Don't say I didn't give ya a fair warning!" Mato called out. "The S-Class monster's full potential is that of all the other monsters combined, designed to activate if it ever became the last one standing! You may have had a chance before, but now it's game over!"
All the competing wizards looked with their own mixed expressions of seriousness or concern as they saw the scene folding before them on the lacrima vision, particularly Milliana and Cana, along with Sho and Wally, and the rest of Fairy Tail.
Erza Scarlet was now at the very top of the Pandemonium castle, being crushed literally under the foot of the S-Class monster now revealed in its full glory. It was a massive humanoid demonic looking beast clad in a black armored exo-skeleton with razor sharp claws. That eye from the tiny creature now appeared embedded in its chest as well as a skull-like face with curved horns.
"Oh yeah, that is definitely a hard-core monster right there." Nero commented. "Kinda reminds me of Berial back in Fortuna."
"I sure hope Erza can come out on top." Juvia said with worry.
"All we can do now is just watch." Laxus said seriously.
"Pandemonium is down to a one-on-one duel!" Chapati commentated. "And it looks like the action has moved to the top of the tower, where Erza is completely overwhelmed! The humongous S-Class monster has her trapped underfoot!"
"I never would have pegged that critter as the alpha beast." Yajima said as the S-Class monster kicked Erza across the ground.
"Quite the ambush." Lahar commented. "This tower is truly worthy of the name Pandemonium."
While Erza was down, all three eyes on the S-Class monster's head lit up before it sent a powerful beam in her direction. She was quick to back-flip and avoid the worst of the blast, but still caught up in the shockwave and sent flying through the air. But the monster was much faster than it appeared as it zoomed past the flying Erza to slash at her back with its claws, causing her to grunt in pain as she fell to the ground, a bit of blood already oozing from her back, but she still tried to push herself back up.
"Come on Erza! You can do better than that!" Natsu called out.
"She's taking a beating…!" Happy winced.
"That thing is humongous!" Carla stated.
"And it has the advantage in speed as well." Lily added.
"I really don't think she can win this one… Those injuries look severe." Kyrie appeared more than a little nervous.
"Why doesn't Erza switch back to her armors though?! They can protect her!" Patty stated.
"She can't if she is to use that sword of hers." Modeus replied.
"Then ditch the sword and get some armor on! Come on Erza!" Patty shouted, tears in her eyes at seeing the strongest woman she knew take such a beating.
"She doesn't need it." All eyes turned to set on Mystogen as he slowly walked toward the front of the observation spot. "Take a good look at her eyes." He said as Erza stood up to face the monster. "Despite her injuries and the predicament that she's in, that look does not waver. That's not the look of someone who's desperate or afraid, that's the look of a warrior who knows exactly what she's doing." He's seen that look in her eyes several times; including when he was her enemy at the Tower of Heaven, and when he had amnesia during the battle against the Oracion Seis. "She'll win this. Her strength and will know no bounds."
That caused many of those in Fairy Tail to smile, notably Lisanna and even Sparda, as they all turned toward the screen and continued watching the fight.
"He's right… She can do it. Erza's never let us down before, and she won't now." Lisanna said with a determined expression.
Standing up, Erza wielded her crimson katana like a true master, taking a stance as the blade glowed a bright red. The monster lunged at her with its claws, but Erza jumped to meet the beast, slicing at its right hand and then it's left when it tried to strike her back. The monster could only look in surprise as it saw its own hands fall apart in perfectly clean slices. Erza then appeared over its head to try and strike it, but the monster quickly turned around and blasted her with a point-blank beam attack from its eyes, scoring a direct hit and sending her crashing to the ground. The S-Class monster didn't even give her a chance to get back up as it came over to her and stomped down on her repeatedly.
However, after the fifth stomp, a flash and slice of red shot up to completely sever the right foot of the monster, forcing it backwards as it fell on its rear. The dust cloud settled to reveal that Erza, despite her clothes being torn, short of breath, covered in scratches, bruises, burns, and even blood on her arms, sides, legs, and down the right side of her face, she was still standing and unwilling to give up, that look of fire and determination never once leaving her face.
Of course, the same could be said for the S-Class monster as well as it pushed itself up, despite missing both its hands and one of its feet. It fired yet another beam at it, but Erza drew her glowing Crimson Blossom once more and sliced at the beam itself, causing it to split apart and shoot past her. Using all the speed and strength she could muster, Erza shoot at the monster for one final attack.
*SLASH!*
Sliding past the monster, her sword held out like a master. All seemed quiet for a few seconds….
Until the central eye at the center of the beast shattered in a flash of red, causing the S-Class monster to fall apart, the central eye apparently serving as its core. But with that destroyed, the monster was now defeated.
The injured and battered Erza raised her sword up, the warrior that was known as Titania having overcome the gauntlet that seemed impossible.
"Day Three of the Grand Magic Games… changed everything! I'll never forget it, the miracle we witnessed! Despite her countless injuries… The fairy that should have fallen… soared! Titania triumphed and our spirits were born anew! Like a scarlet rose… blooming in full glory… sword in hand…!"
Everyone in the audience looked with his or her own expressions of shock and amazement, as well as the Commentators who couldn't believe what they saw. Milliana, Sho, Wally, and even Doranbolt were brought to tears at Erza's victory. That could also be said by many in the observing Fairy Tail as Makarov, Patty, Kyrie, Levy, and Lisanna shed tears of joy, Lady and Trish shared a high-five, Gildarts pumped his fist proudly, Mavis cheered, Sparda nodded with a content and satisfied smile, and even Jellal looked with shaky eyes and a smile. Juvia was also brought to happy tears, Mira cheered loudly, Gajeel and Laxus grinned, Nero looked in complete and utter surprise. Lucy and Wendy hugged each other as they also shed tears, Dante shared a double-fist bump with Natsu and Gray as they smiled with approval.
Even Vergil, who had never taken his eyes off the fight, gave a nod of acknowledgement.
"That… was… UNBELIEVABLE!" Chapati shouted. "ERZA SCARLET HAS SINGLE-HANDEDLY DEFEATED ALL ONE HUNDRED MONSTERS! FAIRY TAIL TEAM A SWEEPS TODAY'S CONTEST IN AN ABSOLUTE UNDISPUTED VICTORY! Let it be known! We've just witnessed history! The strongest guild from seven years has returned from the grave!"
With that, Erza vanished from her spot at the top of the castle as the entire Pandemonium castle vanished as well, retreating into the dark circle that it generated from. The magic circle condensed and made its way down to the ground and Erza re-appeared in that spot, still holding her sword up with pride.
The second they saw her, the audience was in an absolute uproar. That may be the loudest they have ever cheered. Milliana instantly ran up to Erza in a hug, something she appreciated with a smile. She caught a glance of Cana, who gave her a thumbs up.
"That rocked!"
"She's amazing!"
"She's Fairy Tail's most powerful female wizard! They call her the Queen of the Fairies!"
"Well, hail to the queen baby! Wahoo!"
"The crowd is going bananas over that inspiring performance!" Chapati couldn't contain his smile.
"I thought the suspense was gonna kill me." Yajima relaxed back in his seat, one hand over his face.
"I must say that was breath-taking!" Lahar was beyond impressed.
Doranbolt laughed as he tried to wipe the tears from his eyes. 'It took me a while but… I can finally see it…. The strength behind your recklessness…"
Milliana had let go of Erza as they saw the rest of the latter's team quickly approach her. "Hey guys." Erza smiled apologetically. "I hope you'll forgive me. Dealing with them took a bit longer than I expected." However, she looked in comic surprise to see all the excited and emotional looks on most of her teammates' faces.
"That was the coolest thing ever!" Gray grinned.
"What do you say we go a couple rounds later?!" Natsu asked with an excited smile.
"That was so beautiful… I cried…" Lucy said with emotional eyes.
"I was so moved I'm still crying, see…!?" Wendy said as she still literally shed tears of joy.
"Calm down. You realize we haven't won yet, right?" Erza joked, earning laughs from all her teammates.
'Did I hear that right?' Mato thought in shock. 'Did she really just apologize because it took longer than she expected?!'
"Yeah that wasn't half bad." Dante said with a borderline smug grin toward Erza. "Course if it were me, I would have done it in half the time. Without even having to use my Devil Trigger."
"Yes, you probably would." Erza said as the two stared at each other for what one thought would be a tense stare down. That is until the two laughed with each other.
Dante raised his hand to exchange a high-five with his friend and teammate. "Great work out there, Erza. You're a Devil Hunter in your own right."
"Coming from the master, that means a lot." Erza replied.
"That girl's in a league of her own." Cana said as she drank more from her bottle, standing alongside Milliana.
"Yeah, Erzy might be the strongest in Fiore. She's pumped up to the max!" The cat-girl agreed.
Hibiki shined with sparkles. "Sir Ichiya's girlfriend is magnificent… what I wouldn't give to make her mine!"
Nobarly looked to him in comic shock. "If you think you're wild enough to make it past that beast, you go right ahead pretty boy."
"Indeed." Jura chuckled, looking beyond impressed.
"This was a huge waste of time." Orga scowled as Obra looked with a serious expression.
"Erza! Erza! Erza! Erza! Erza! Erza! Erza! Erza! Erza!" The entire audience chanted the name of the Queen of the Fairies as she turned to look up at her observing teammates, all of whom cheered loudly for her. She looked in minor surprise to see Jellal taking off his mask slightly, just so he could show her his proud smile, earning a happy smile from her as well.
"The booing that greeted Fairy Tail on Day One seems like a distant memory." Chapati commentated as the audience continued to chant Erza's name. "You can really feel the love here in Crocus!"
"Anyone would go gaga after seeing that spectacle." Yajima said.
"I wholeheartedly agree! It was truly inspiring!" Lahar stated.
'Seven years of doubt and self-loathing…' Doranbolt thought with a smile on his face. 'And now… I can see what a waste that was…'
"That really gave me chills!" Bruni said excitedly. "It makes me wanna go down there and fight her!"
"I'm sure you would." Kurenai giggled. "That young woman down there would an excellent Wizard Saint one day."
As Juvia and Mira cheered with Laxus and Gajeel grinning, Nero smiled as well. 'I remember Credo saying good things about her way back when at home. Now I can see why. She's something else.'
Sho was still crying as the rest of Team Lamia Scale looked impressed as well. Sherria threw an arm around him as she smiled toward him. "Your friend down there is amazing Sho! I can see why you like her so much!"
"Yeah…" Sho wiped his eyes with his arm. "Sis…"
"Now that was a dandy victory!" Wally said enthusiastically.
"Damn right, man." Bacchus agreed. "Nice to see old red still got game."
"I never seen anyone like her… Amazing… I can't believe she took on all of em…" Beth commented as she and the rest of team Mermaid Heel looked on.
"One thing's for sure, it's obvious why they call her Titania." Risley said.
"Yes, it's easy to understand now why Milliana admires her so." Lucia smiled. "Most impressive."
"She may be as strong as you Kagura…" Arana added, looking toward her teammate.
'Erza Scarlet.' Kagura looked serious. 'She's the one who has a history with Jellal.'
"What?! You think that chick was awesome!?" Lector questioned in shock and disbelief while Sting, Rogue, Frosch, and Rufus looked with stupefied expressions, unable to comprehend what they just saw. "Orga would have beaten them all in ten seconds flat!"
"Her outfits looked pretty awesome though…" Frosch commented.
"How interesting." Minerva looked rather intrigued. "Perhaps Dante isn't the only one in Fairy Tail we should keep an eye on. I'll admit, I'm impressed."
Rogue happened to glance at Vergil, wondering what he was thinking. But, even from his spot, Rogue was unable to see a small smile grace Vergil's face.
'Her title, Queen of the Fairies, still well-earned. She is a truly a worthy foe.'
Erza raised her fist to the crowd with a satisfied and victorious smile, causing them to cheer even louder.
"Fairy Tail A dominates the Pandemonium contest and scores ten points for their team." Chapati announced.
Mato then approached the remaining competing wizards. "Okay, after some deliberation, we've decided that the seven remaining teams still need to be ranked. So, we're having another contest." He revealed as an odd-looking device with an orb at the top hovered beside him. "This game might be a little on the boring side compared to Pandemonium, but I think it'll suffice."
"What is that thing?" Nobarly asked.
"The Magic Power Finder, or MPF for short." Mato answered. "Pretty snazzy, huh?"
"In other words, it measures a wizard's magic power?" Jura assumed.
"Right-o!" Mato confirmed. "If you cast a spell on this device, it'll display your magic power in numerical form! We'll use this number to decide the ranking for the remaining teams. Quick and easy."
"Is this strictly a contest of strength? I wonder if there's some way that I can work around it." Hibiki wondered as he stood next to Cana, who was still drinking her liquor. "But the real question is, are you free later tonight?" He was quick to put the moves on her.
"Well, I could be…" The near-drunk Cana smiled. "But I don't think Daddy would really approve."
"Hey, I never met an over-protective dad I couldn't smooth over." Hibiki said, still maintain his playboy attitude.
"Well there he is." Cana pointed to the Fairy Tail observing box. The second Hibiki saw him, his pupils shrank as his face became pale.
A dark and menacing aura was emanating from Gildarts as he glared down with red eyes at Hibiki. His aura was so intense, most of his friends and comrades backed away for their own safety. All except Sparda, who nodded with approval.
"Good man." The spirit of the Dark Knight smiled one father to another.
As Hibiki shrank, Cana giggled. "Eh, I wouldn't have had room for another barrel anyway." She brushed off as she resumed her drinking.
"Cana's drinking habits might be a bit of a problem here." Mira gave a wincing smile.
"Might?!" Nero pointed to a pile of empty alcohol barrels in the arena. "How she is not dead yet?!"
"The boozer's drinking on the job!" Gajeel exclaimed.
"Guess our team isn't scoring this round." Laxus said with reluctant acceptance.
"Stop drinking! You still have to compete for us, Cana!" Juvia called out to her, but Cana appeared so drunk that she couldn't quite understand what her teammate was saying.
"Let's begin, shall we?" Mato announced. "Since you all drew straws earlier, we'll continue in that order."
"That means it's finally my turn!" Milliana stepped up and threw away her cape, exposing her rather revealing outfit.
"Oh my… the cape is off, and the sexy-meter is off the charts!" Chapati commented as Milliana attacked the MPF.
"Kitten Blast!" She shot a spiraling tube of magic power that struck the orb on the MPF. It took a second to record and analyze the attack before displaying the holographic number 365 at the top.
"Milliana scores three-hundred and sixty-five." Chapati announced as many in the audience looked a bit confused, wondering if that was good or not, as was he. "That being said… since we didn't set a benchmark for comparison, I'm not really sure whether that's a good number or not." He said, with Yajima nodding in agreement.
"Maybe I can help." Lahar offered. "We Rune Knights use MPFs in training fairly often. She actually did very well. That score would qualify her for squad captain."
"Wow! What an impressive start!" Chapati said.
"I am one pumped up kitty!" Milliana cheered.
"Way to go, Milliana." Kurenai nodded.
Bruni gave a wincing smile. "You do know that some of the guys down there can probably score way higher than her, right?" He said to his fellow Wizard Saint.
"Maybe, but she has grown stronger, and I am entitled to be proud of my little girl." Kurenai quickly said.
"Not bad." Lucia said. "She has improved compared to last year."
"Yeah, but raw power ain't Milliana's strongest feature." Beth commented.
"She might actually be at a disadvantage out there." Risley agreed.
Nobarly stepped up next. He took a position that was akin to a wolf going on the attack, a red magic aura surging around his hands as a set of wolf-like claws appeared before he lunged forward.
"Wolf Slice!" Nobarly slashed at the MPF's orb. Just like before, the device recorded and analyzed the attack before showing the number, which was 124.
"Clocking in at one-hundred and twenty-four is Nobarly of Quatro Puppy." Chapati announced. "A bit on the low side, wouldn't you say?"
"Ah man!" Rocker smacked his hand against his forehead.
Wally sighed. "Better than nothing I guess."
Hibiki straightened his suit as he stepped forward. "Guess it's my turn to shine." Already many girls in the audience were cheering for him.
"Am I the only one who thinks Hibiki might be out of his league?" Eve said.
"Yeah, he's more of an analyst than a fighter." Even Jenny agreed.
"I should be the one down there." Ren stated.
"Have faith, friends!" Ichiya appeared out of nowhere, still shining with sparkles. "Our teammate won't let us down."
"Oh sir, when did you get here?" Eve asked.
"Glad to see you back in action, master." Ren said.
"Hopefully with you back, we can pick up the slack." Jenny commented.
"Indeed. I shall do my best now that I'm fully rested." Ichiya said.
They saw a tiny flash of light as Hibiki had attacked the MPF with a blast of raw magic power, only for the number 95 to pop up, causing him to fall to his knees in comic tears.
"Hibiki of Blue Pegasus scores a measly ninety-five points." Chapati announced.
"Huh?!" All the girls in the audience exclaimed in shock.
"Not even three digits… man…" Hibiki said in dejection.
"I told you I should have been the one down there." Ren stated while Eve gave a wincing laugh.
"Such is life." Ichiya said. "But remember that failure is the great teacher. Learn its lessons, and the rewards will be everlasting."
"Right, we look forward to learning, maestro." Ren and Eve both said and bowed at the same time.
"Don't worry baby!" Jenny called to Hibiki as he walked away. "I'll cheer you up later tonight!"
"Next up is Obra of Raven Tail." The second that one stepped up, everyone in Fairy Tail paid close attention.
"Keep your eyes peeled on this one." Gildarts said seriously to his guildmates while Makarov glared.
"Those bastards…" Macao clenched his fist as Romeo and Patty both shook, the former glaring hard at the man. Lisanna kept her eyes on him as well while she placed her hand on Romeo's shoulder as Modeus did the same for Patty.
"Another Raven, huh?" Lucy questioned with a hard look.
"I wonder what kind of magic he'll use." Wendy said.
Obra opened up his robe, allowing the tiny creature that was normally on his shoulder to leap forward and slam its elbow onto the MPF's orb. The number broadcasted was a 4, much to everyone's surprise.
"Obra clocks in at… four points?!" Chapati questioned.
"Huh?!" Natsu looked more than a little confused.
"Is this some kind of joke?" Gray questioned.
"Why do I get the feeling he took a dive on purpose?" Dante muttered with crossed arms.
"I agree." Erza stood next to him with a similar expression, despite being covered in bandages.
"Hey, I know you wanna watch, but you should really be in bed, Erza." Lucy told her.
"I can use my healing magic to help you." Wendy offered.
"I'm fine, thank you." Erza replied. "You should conserve your energy if in the event you're called up."
"I swear, you're indestructible." Lucy muttered.
"I'm very sorry, but I'm afraid we can't allow any do-overs." Mato apologized to Obra but gasped in surprise as the drunken Cana plucked his hat from his head and put it over hers. "Huh!? Hey, give that back!"
"What an idiot!" Flare exclaimed. "What are you thinking Obra?! Come on! We won't get any points now!"
"Quiet, Flare." Alexi told her. "He can't reveal his magic in front of everyone."
"Right… sorry." Flare looked down, but Sapphire did put a hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah, that's one guy you don't wanna get worked up, capiche?" Nullpudding said.
"Ain't that the truth." Kurohebi agreed with a hiss.
Meanwhile, Sid, still disguised as Ivan, watched with a chuckle. 'Those fools in the audience have no idea what kind of nightmare stands before them.'
"Okay, Milliana of Mermaid Heel is currently in the lead with three hundred and sixty-five points!" Mato announced.
"MEWOOW!" She cheered as she rapidly and excitedly shook Mato's hands. "This is better than chasing my own tail!"
"I'm about to change that." Orga stepped forward, causing the audience to cheer loudly as they saw him.
"And the crowd goes berserk for Orga! How will one of Sabertooth's strongest fair!?" Chapati commentated.
"Rip that thing to pieces and show those twerps whose boss!" Lector cheered as he stood alongside a smirking Sting and Minerva.
"And do a silly dance while you're at it." Frosch added while Rogue, Rufus and Vergil watched seriously.
Bringing his hands close together, Orga generated a small but powerful sphere of black lightning in his hands. "120mm Black Lightning Cannon!" He unleashed a condensed beam of black lightning at the orb. It was so powerful, it made Nobarly and Hibiki scream in shock. The number shown was 3,825.
"WHOA! IT'S ALMOST FOUR THOUSAND!" Chapati announced.
"NO WAY! HE'S TEN TIMES STRONGER THAN ME?!" Milliana exclaimed as her pupils shrunk in comic shock.
"What?!" Natsu exclaimed in just as much shock himself.
"That number can't be right!" Gray also exclaimed in the same kind of tone.
"Crazy…!" Lucy couldn't believe it.
As Dante and Erza looked serious at the result, Wendy felt her body shake almost on instinct. 'That magic… why does it feel so familiar…?'
Lahar was completely stunned as well. 'I've never in my life seen a score that high!'
"Awesome!" Lector cheered as he and Frosch danced in celebration. "That's our Orga! What a powerhouse! I knew he'd win! We're the champions!"
Laxus smirked, liking the power this guy had. It made him excited to hopefully face him in the arena.
Orga had swiped the mic as he began his celebratory rap. "You other guilds think that you ain't cool! But we're so strong, we're gonna make you drool! There ain't no stopping, the Sabertooth guild!"
"We can do without the singing, okay big guy?" Mato told him as he took the mic back.
"Things are really heating up down there." Chapati continued to commentate. "Can the Wizard Saint Jura pass that incredible score? Or has Orga set the bar?"
"Oh boy, Baldy's up." Bruni said with a grin as Kurenai smiled next to him. "This should be good."
"I really hope Jura can beat that loudmouth." Sherria said.
"Sure, he can. You should be worried about whether we'll survive it." Lyon said with confidence.
"He's going to blow Sabertooth out of the water for sure." Sho said with just as much confidence as his teammate.
"Do you mind if I give it my all?" Jura asked as he stepped forward.
"That's the game, isn't it?" Mato responded.
Jura took a deep breath as he placed his hands together almost meditatively. "Here he goes, folks. What does Jura have in store for us?" As he focused his power, and a bright yellow aura formed around him, a tremor was felt all across the arena. "An earthquake!?"
"He's giving off intense magical pressure!" Lahar said seriously.
Jura's eyes shot open. "Rumbling Fuji!" The ground underneath the MPF exploded as raw magic power was shot up to completely engulf the device, which could be seen even at a distance from the arena itself. Surprisingly, the device was still intact as it showed the number 8,544.
"EIGHT-THOUSAND, FIVE-HUNDRED, AND FORTY-FOUR! THAT IS ABSOLUTLEY MIND-BLOWING!" Chapati exclaimed.
Dante whistled with a smirk while Lucy and Wendy's jaws dropped.
"NO WAY…!" Natsu screamed.
"He sure packs a wallop for someone his age…!" Gray exclaimed, sweating profusely.
"Here I thought it would be a little higher." Erza grinned.
"What the…?!" Orga couldn't believe that Jura just gave a score that was more than double his own.
"Wait… that old guy is stronger than Orga?!" Lector exclaimed next to the shocked Frosch.
"How the hell is that even possible!?" Sting exclaimed.
"He is one of the Ten Wizard Saints, the strongest group in the whole contient on Ishgar. What did you expect?" Vergil wasn't the least bit surprised.
"Wizard Saints are so dangerously powerful, I thought it might be a bad idea to let him participate. But it looks like he had everything under control from the start." Lyon said with a smirk as Ooba laughed triumphantly next to him while she spun her finger to spin Toby around, much to his horror.
"Apparently you were worried over nothing, cause that was awesome!" Sherria waved for her teammate.
"Jura taught me everything I know. He already had this in the bag." Sho said with a smile.
"Holy shit… and I actually went up against that guy…" Nero was shaking slightly.
"Outstanding! This is a new MPF record!" Chapati announced as Jura gave a humble bow. "Jura has proven that the title of Wizard Saint should never be taken lightly!"
"Got that right." Bruni nodded while Kurenai nodded toward her fellow Wizard Saint's performance. "But you would blow his score out of the water. Pun entirely intended, by the way."
"Hardy-har." She replied with a humorous expression.
'He has grown significantly these past seven years.' Jellal thought, remembering how he was once a Wizard Saint himself under the alias Siegrain. 'I should watch my back around him.'
"I knew he was strong but yowzah…" Makarov was certainly surprised himself. "He might be on the same level as you, Gildarts."
Despite that, Gildarts himself laughed. "Maybe, but my little girl's up next and she's got a real ace up her sleeve."
"The final challenger is Fairy Tail Team B's Cana Alberona!" Chapati announced as the drunken girl gave a hiccup.
"You're so sweet saving the best for last." She said with red cheeks.
"I certainly wouldn't wanna follow Jura, that's for sure." Chapati quickly said.
"Alright, do your best pumpkin." Mato encouraged as she drunkenly waved to him and dropped her bottle upon approaching the MPF.
"She's completely wasted." Gajeel sighed in defeat.
"We'll be lucky if she scores more than Hibiki." Juvia said in reluctant acceptance.
"Don't worry guys. I know she'll come through!" Mira encouraged.
"What? What can that drunkard down there possibly do to outshine that mountain-blowing monster down there?" Nero questioned skeptically.
Mira only smiled confidently as she knew what was coming next. "Wait for it…"
Cana had taken off her jacket to revel a certain red emblem on her arm as she somehow became sober in that one instant. "Now for the grand finale!"
"Wait… is that…?" Lady looked in surprise, recognizing that symbol.
"No way…" Trish couldn't believe it either.
"Fairy Glitter!" Lucy exclaimed in shock.
Gildarts smiled alongside Makarov. "We spent three months training my kid's butt off, now it's time to show the world what she's got."
Cana raised her arm as the emblem was already shining brightly like a golden sun. "Assemble! Oh, river of light, guided by fairies!" As she chanted, her body was engulfed in a bright surge of golden magic power.
Mavis and Sparda both smiled with pride. "Wielding that spell is not easy, it takes incredible concentration and power." The first master of Fairy Tail said.
"And Cana has both. It seems we have chosen wisely." The Dark Knight added.
"May your radiance shine and vanquish the fangs of wickedness!" A large golden halo formed over Cana as she aimed her glowing arm at the MPF. "FAIRY GLITTER!" The MPF exploded in the golden light, much to the obvious shock of all the competing wizards around her, even Jura was caught off guard.
Nero's jaw hung open as Gajeel and Juvia were just as surprised as they were amazed, while Mira and Laxus smiled with pride.
"Damn…" Dante was more than a little shocked himself as Natsu, Gray, and Wendy were rendered speechless while Erza simply smiled. "That glitter stuff ain't no joke."
Lucy was amazed. 'When Cana first tried to use that… it tore up her arm. Now it looks like she's mastered it.' A smile formed on her face. 'She really is amazing.'
For one of the few times in his life, Vergil was surprised. 'I never expected her to wield one of the three grand Fairy spells. Very interesting.'
By the time the dust cleared and the glow on Cana's arm began to die with residual magic, the MPF had been completely obliterated. The only thing that remained was the holographic number 9,999.
"OH MY GOODNESS, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE MPF IS HISTORY! HER POWER IS OFF THE CHARTS!" Chapati announced as Sting, Rogue, Lector, Frosch, and Rufus were completely shocked at what they just saw. One of Fairy Tail's lesser known members had out-classed one of their strongest members like it was nothing! Even Minerva looked incredibly serious. "THIS GUILD IS BEYOND INCREDIBLE! FAIRY TAIL HAS TAKEN TODAY'S EVENT BY STORM! IS THIS THEIR TRUE STRENGTH!? CAN ANYBODY STOP THEM NOW!"
"There's no stopping us!" Cana called out as she stood proudly in the center of the arena. "We've just started to rock your world! FAIRY TAIL WILL BE NUMBER ONE AGAIN!"
"Damn right! That's my girl!" Gildarts cheered alongside the rest of Fairy Tail as the audience was once again in an uproar of celebration.
'This changes everything…' Mato thought as he took this all in. 'I'll have to put a little more thought into my plans.'
'So, Cana can wield Fairy Glitter, hmm?' Ivan thought with an intrigued look underneath his mask. 'Once we're done here, we'll be sure to take her. We can't have a spell like that go to waste, now can we?'
"Boss." Nullpudding got his attention as he handed him a piece of paper. "Got the battle line up here for ya. Sid was able to pull some strings."
Alexi took the paper and looked at the line-up written on it. "Yes, perfect. I'll have to thank Sid for all his help. It's about time we got started, Raven Tail's true objective is almost within reach!"
"And with that, we are now half-way through Day 3 of the Grand Magic Games, so let's take a look the teams' current standings." Chapati began. "In first place is the Raven Tail guild with thirty-four points. Holding on to second place are the ladies of Mermaid Heel with twenty-six points. In third place, with a surprise turn of events since the start of this tournament is Fairy Tail Team B with twenty-five points!"
"Not bad, but let's keep going to the top." Laxus said.
"I can sniff that reward already." Gajeel grinned.
"Drinks all around tonight, my treat." Cana offered.
"Haven't you had enough already?" Nero questioned. "Seriously, are you suddenly sober now?"
"That's my own special magic power." Cana smirked.
"In fourth place right behind them is Sabertooth with twenty-four points!" Chapati continued while most of Team Sabertooth's expressions were darkened at falling behind so low. "In fifth place, we have Fairy Tail Team A with twenty-two points!"
That announcement earned cheers from the audience and smiles from the aforementioned team.
"Aw yeah!" Natsu pumped his fists.
"And we're gonna keep climbing the ranks, just you watch!" Lucy declared.
"It's nice to get some cheers for once." Dante commented with a smirk.
"Aye sir!" Happy cheered from the observatory box as the rest of Fairy Tail looked with pride at their comrades' performances.
"In sixth place is Lamia Scale with twenty-one points!" Chapati went on. "Falling down to seventh place is Blue Pegasus with eighteen points. And stuck in last place with twelve points, is Quatro Puppy."
"Ah man, second to last?" Hibiki winced as the rest of his teammates looked rather displeased.
"Such an insulting parfum!" Ichiya cried.
"Ugh! Bad enough we're stuck in last place, but now we gotta be called Quatro Puppy?!" Rocker exclaimed.
"Guess we'll have to pick things up if we wanna get higher." Bacchus said.
"Now let's do away with the pleasantries and shake up that scoreboard with some one-on-one battles!" Chapati announced, causing the audience to cheer even louder.
"Looking forward to it. Should be exciting." Yajima said with an eager smile.
"Indeed." Lahar agreed.
"First up, we got the girl who specializes in chubby power, Risley Law from Mermaid Heel!" Chapati commentated as the aforementioned woman stepped into the arena to face her opponent. "Against the dog with style, Wally Buchanan from Quatro Puppy!"
"Come on Wally! Fetch us a win cause we're… WILD!" Rocker and the rest of his guildmates shouted.
"I heard of ya." Risley said with a friendly smile. "You're the blockhead that Milliana always talks about."
"Hopefully you're hearing all the good things, doll." Wally greeted as he tipped his hat to her.
"Yeah, but just because you're on good terms with my friend don't mean I'm gonna go easy on ya." Risley replied with an eager grin.
"Same to you. Let's make this a dandy fight." Wally mirrored ger grin with one of his own.
"Let's get this match started!" Chapati announced as the gong ran and the battle had begun.
Wally was the first to attack as his right arm converted into a Polygon Rifle, and immediately shot at Risley, who broke out into a run to avoid the shots. "So much for ladies first." Risley said as her speed instantly picked up and was easily able to avoid all those shots.
'For a big lady, she moves pretty fast. But is she fast enough?' Wally broke his entire body apart into multiple blocks and shot them all at Risley, who could just barley dodge them as her entire body shifted and changed, reverting from her large and chubby form to a much thinner version of herself.
"Don't go underestimating chubby-power pal." Risley smirked as she saw Wally's body reform and charged at him, channeling her power into her right fist as she pulled back and tried to punch him, but Wally was able to just barley break his own head off just in time to avoid the fist, the force of the impact created a long trail on the ground behind him.
"Dang… that's one heck of a punch." Wally commented as his body broke apart again and he tried to gain some distance from her.
"And this battle kicks off with a bang, folks! Risley is much faster than she looks, but Wally's ability to break apart is quick in its own right!"
"Risley's Gravity Changing magic is nowhere near as powerful as Kagura's, but she can alter the gravity surrounding her own body to give her an increase in speed and strength." Kurenai explained as Bruni continued to sit next to her.
"Is that how she goes from big to thin too?" Bruni asked.
"All that so-called chubbiness is actually gravity magic being stored in her body, which she can control at will." Kurenai revealed.
Risley continued to try and attack, throwing gravity-enhanced punches and kicks to any piece of Wally she could try and find, but each piece moved too quickly for her to land a single attack on. "Come on, hold still dang it!" However, she stopped and looked in shock as she quickly realized her current predicament.
Wally's broken up body had her surrounded from all sides in virtually every angle, almost like a dome, as multiple blocks took the shape of more Polygon Rifles, all of which had targeting lasers primed at Risley.
"Gotcha." The floating head of Wally smirked. "360 Omni Shot!" Wally's multitude of rifles fired at Risley at the same time. She couldn't avoid them as she was struck from all sides, causing her to grunt and even yell in pain.
"Risley!" Milliana, Beth, and Arana all gasped while Kagura and Lucia looked in seriousness.
"Now that's what we're talking about!" Bacchus grinned.
"We're gonna win this round cause we're… WILD!" Rocker shouted with the rest of his guildmates once again.
"Ain't no way you can beat us, girly." Goldmine nodded with approval.
Wally kept up the attack, firing on her from all directions and preventing Risley from so much as moving. "It looks like Wally has Risley completely pinned down! Will this puppy surpass the mermaid?" Chapati commentated.
"That's smart." Dante observed. "Keeping your target from moving."
"The blockhead's got even more tricks than he did last time I saw him." Natsu said.
"What do you think's gonna happen, Erza?" Lucy asked.
"Hard to say." She replied. "Wally appears to have a good strategy, but we shouldn't underestimate the woman from Mermaid Heel either. There's a reason why their guild is the second strongest."
"Come on Risley! Stay strong!" Beth tried to cheer for her.
"She appears to be at a disadvantage right now." Lucia observed.
Milliana had a bit of a conflicted expression on her face. On one end, she was glad that her old friend Wally appeared to be winning. But on the other, she was also worried for her guildmate. She looked towards Kagura, a look of worry on the cat-girl's face.
"She won't lose." The swordswoman said simply.
That was all Milliana needed to hear as she smiled. "Yeah, you're right. Don't know why I'm even worried."
Kurenai wasn't worried either. Despite Risley taking a constant beating, she knew that her girl still had one trump card up her sleeve. And if she used it right, then her victory would be guaranteed.
Wally's attack stopped as Risley fell to her hands and knees, her body becoming chubby once more as Wally's body reformed.
"Not bad, doll." The blockhead complemented. "But it looks like I win this one." He aimed his Polygon Rifle at her, ready to finish this. "I'll make it quick and easy."
Suddenly, Wally gave a hacked up gasp as Risley suddenly appeared in front of him to deal a powerful punch to his gut, much to the shock of Quatro Cerberus, Team Fairy Tail A, and most of the audience.
"You sure about that, hot-stuff?" Risley looked up at her with a grin. Before Wally even had a chance to break apart again, Risley grabbed both of his shoulders and pressed him down hard to the ground with an intense surge of gravity power.
Kurenai smirked. "Here's the thing about Risley's Gravity Changing magic. Her body can absorb the inertia of any physical attack shot at her, and she can convert that into her own power to increase her own strength and output of magic."
"Not bad, but that's assuming she's not knocked out before that happens." Bruni said.
"True, but she's learned to use her power wisely as well as increase her own physical endurance." Kurenai responded. "It's going to take a lot to knock her out."
While Wally was pinned down, Risley leapt up high into the air and increased the force of her own gravity to fall at a rapid pace, pulling back a punch. "I really hate to do this to Milliana's friend, but I'll be damned if I let down all my sises and Mama Kurenai!" She slammed her fist into Wally with enough force that it created a crater in the arena.
The smoke cleared to reveal Wally was lying flat on his back, struggling to keep himself together, but he was unable to get back up again as Risley stood up straight, albeit shakily, while her body became thinner once more.
The bell rang, signaling the end of the battle. "Wally is down for the count folks, and it looks like the chubby mermaid has taken the win here!" Chapati announced as the audience cheered.
"That was quite an interesting battle, a nice way to start of the fights for today." Yajima said.
"There are so many varieties of magic that have been used in the games so far." Lahar added. "It's quite fascinating."
"Go Risley!" Beth cheered.
"I knew she wouldn't let us down." Arana smiled while Kagura gave a simple nod.
Milliana still had mixed feelings, however. She was glad to see that her had team won the battle, but it was still disappointing to see her friend lose. She felt a hand on her shoulder as she looked up to see the smiling Lucia.
"Your friend did well out there, I would say he's a worthy opponent. Think of it this way, you should be proud of how strong he's gotten. And it will only motivate you to become stronger as well, right?" Lucia encouraged.
Milliana smiled back. "Right."
Meanwhile, the rest of Team Quatro Cerberus was comically white as they cried. "Man, there ain't nothing wild about losing." Rocker cried.
"Sorry your friend lost, Erza." Wendy smiled apologetically toward her.
"It's alright." Erza said with a smile. "Wally's come a long way, I'm rather proud of him."
Wally tried to pick himself back up, but was surprised to see Risley offering him her hand as she looked down at him with a genuine smile. "Not bad, pal. Honestly, if you'd kept up that attack a while longer, I probably wouldn't be standing. I can see why Milliana likes ya."
Smiling back, Wally accepted her hand as she helped him to his feet. "Thanks, not bad yourself, doll. Here's hoping for a rematch."
"Count on it." Risley agreed as they shook hands, the audience cheering at that friendly gesture while Kurenai nodded with approval.
"Okay, moving on to the second match of the battle segment, let's hear it for the mistral who sings to the red moon… Sabertooth's Rufus Lore!" Chapati announced, the audience cheering loudly as the flamboyantly dressed member of Sabertooth stepped onto the arena. "He'll be facing off against Blue Pegasus' holy night… Eve Tearm!" Eve stepped onto the arena and already took a combative stance, glaring seriously at his opponent.
"Go Eve!" Ichiya called out to him. "May you have the parfum of victory!"
"You can beat this clown!" Ren also called out.
"You got this, man! Yeah!" Hibiki cheered.
"Fetch Blue Pegasus a win, Eve!" Jenny cheered while the rabbit-dressed individual raised its hands in cheering fashion.
'A pity.' Rufus thought. 'I had hoped I would get a chance to face that impudent Dante or somebody from his pitiful guild to pay him back for his transgressions. I suppose I'll have to settle with making an example of this one.'
"Rufus spanked the little guy on Day 1 during the Hidden event, but will he get his comeuppance today?" Chapati wondered as the gong rang, signaling the start of the battle.
"Snow Magic: White Fury!" Eve wasted no time in making the first move, blasting a snowstorm straight for Rufus, only for the attack to go right through him as Rufus' body appeared to be transparent for a second before disappearing completely.
"What you struck was merely a memory of me." Rufus said, appearing by Eve's side, but he wasn't surprised.
"I got a taste of your techniques last time, and I've got em all memorized now!" He said as he charged at his opponent.
"Oh really? Is that so? Well." Somehow, the form of Ichiya in a bathtub with a glass of wine in his hand appeared before Eve, causing him to stop in his tracks.
"Man…!"
"Master Ichiya?! What the heck are you doing down here?!"
Rufus appeared behind Eve. "Seems you've been fooled by your own memory!" He delivered a chop with his hand to knock Eve to the ground.
"His memory…?" Dante shuddered with the Natsu and Gray, Lucy quickly covered Wendy's eyes, while Erza looked completely disturbed as her face turned purple. "I don't even wanna know…"
The rest of Team Blue Pegasus looked completely mortified as well, with Ichiya's jaw dropping to the ground.
"Don't tell me this is somewhere deep in his memory!" Ren exclaimed.
"Yeah, no kidding! You've got some explaining to do sir!" Hibiki also exclaimed to their leader.
"Oh god… I need to bleach my eyes…!" Jenny covered her own eyes with her hands.
"Please believe me when I say that I have absolutely no memory of this scandalous parfum, man!" Ichiya tried.
While he was down, Rufus went on the attack. Taking a pose as he placed his hands on his temples, a bright red magic circle appeared behind him as the sky darkened just like during the Hidden Game.
"Memory Make: Night of Shooting Stars!" Multiple bolts of star-magic shot out from Rufus body and struck Eve while he was down.
"Ooh! Eve has taken a direct hit from Rufus!" Chapati commentated. However, he and the rest of the audience looked in surprise to see that the Eve in front of them was actually a fake made from snow magic. "Well, I'll be. Turns out it was just a copy made from snow!"
"Now that's an impressive parfum!" Ichiya praised.
"Way to use his own stuff against him." Jenny smiled.
"Alright, score!" Ren grinned.
"Show em how we do it!" Hibiki cheered.
"If I'm not mistaken, Eve used to work for the Council, didn't he?" Yajima asked Lahar.
"That's right." The chief marshal confirmed. "It was many years ago, but he started off as a custody enforcement Rune Knight, much like myself. Even back then, it was obvious he possessed incredible talent. But it appears his skills have grown since joining the Blue Pegasus guild."
Eve stood with confidence as a flurry of snow was generated around him before attacking. "White Blizzard!" He had spread countless snowflakes all across the area, but Rufus wasn't impressed in the slightest.
"You know that's pointless." He said smugly.
"Yeah right, that's what you think!" Eve replied. "My White Blizzard might not look like much, but it's gonna help by finding the real you! Right there!" He sensed the presence of the real Rufus through his magic and determined his exact location. "White Fang!" He shot a condensed whirlwind of snow at a seemingly empty spot behind him, revealing the real Rufus as he jumped into the air to avoid it.
"I've already memorized that spell." Rufus said as he readied another attack. "I'll counter it with Memory Make."
"That's it…" Gray recognized this type of magic. It was just like his own.
"Maker Magic…" Lyon looked serious as well. "But I've never heard of Memory Make…"
Even Ultear and the rest of her guildmates in Crime Sorciere were caught off guard. "He uses magic that can give form to memories? Impossible…"
"A long-forgotten magic." Mavis looked incredibly serious. "It's an ancient spell."
"Hold on, you recognize it First Master?" Gildarts asked.
"You could say it's a Lost Magic of sorts." Sparda explained with a serious look of his own. "Maker Magic, as you all know, grants the ability to turn magical power into form, such a solid construct like with Gray's ice power. This spell works on the same principle but is vastly different. It allows the wielder to take the elemental properties of any spell that they remember and remake it however they see fit, even combining it with other spells that they've memorized!"
"You're kidding?! He can make new spells just by remembering them?!" Happy exclaimed.
"Such an incredible power…" Carla was in awe.
"Meaning the wielder could have an endless arsenal of spells at their disposal." Lily seemed to understand.
"I've heard of Memory Make, but I've never even seen it till now." Modeus looked with concern.
"Yes, this is quite concerning." Makarov agreed.
As Rufus prepared his attack, the entire ground in the arena began to glow a bright orange as the temperature began to rise quickly.
"Great googly-woogly, what's happening down there?!" Chapati questioned as even he felt the intense heat.
"It looks like this fight is starting to warm up." Yajima commented.
"I'm sensing an incredible surge in magic power!" Lahar stated.
"Like I'm gonna let you attack me!" Eve was ready to fight back before Rufus could strike. However, he was shocked to find multiple chains of flowing shadow-magic erupt from the ground to bind and ensnare him. "What the…?"
"Memory Make: Chains of the Binding Shadow! I can cast multiple spells at once if need be." Rufus said with a smug grin, but despite the smile on his face, there was a look of anger in his eyes. "I do apologize, but rather recently, a certain someone had the audacity to try and humiliate us and it has left a very poor taste in my mouth. Nothing personal, but you're about to take the full brunt of my fury!"
With the chains to keep Eve restrained, there was no possible way for him to escape the ground that was erupting like a volcano beneath his feet. "Memory Make: Karma of the Scorching Earth!" With a thrust of his hand to the ground, the ground beneath Eve exploded in a fury of lava and fire, engulfing him in the intense heat as the force of the attack sent Eve flying into the air, but Rufus wasn't done yet. He pointed his hand up into the air and generated a large and bright glowing spear of white energy that pointed directly down at the airborne Eve. "Memory Make: Judgement of the Holy Spear!" The attack shot downward to blast Eve all the way back to the ground and create a bright explosion of white light.
When it was all said and done, Eve laid on the ground, covered in burn marks and even blood, he could barely even move as he groaned in pain.
"No! Eve!" Hibiki exclaimed as Jenny covered her mouth with a gasp.
"What the hell was that about?!" Ren questioned.
"Such an unpleasant and dishonorable parfum." Ichiya shot a glare at Rufus.
With Eve unable to compete, the bell rang, signaling the end of the fight. "And that's the match! A bit overkill for my taste, but a win is a win." Yajima however didn't approve in the slightest as he glared and growled slightly toward the smirking Rufus.
"Get a medical team down there immediately!" Lahar ordered. "Eve is to be escorted straight to the infirmary!"
Despite the clear victory for Sabertooth, most of the audience wasn't as excited as they were before when the guild had claimed its victories during this tournament. In fact, many people in the audience looked worried and concerned as a pair of royal soldiers entered into the arena to put Eve in a stretcher and carry him to the arena.
"That was a bit… excessive, wasn't it?"
"Yeah, a little too much for me."
"I really feel bad for Eve. I hope he's okay."
"What in the heck was that?!" Patty questioned. "That was way too hard!"
"Any one of those attacks would have given him a victory, but he chose to use two of them?" Kyrie questioned as well. "Why?"
"I bet it's because of what happened with Dante and Sabertooth last night." Lady said with a glare.
"But Eve wasn't a part of that, he had nothing to do with it!" Lisanna stated.
"That guy was just looking for a punching bag to vent his frustrations on." Trish scowled. "Damn bastard."
Despite the concerns from the audience around him, Rufus cast a taunting smirk and bow in Dante's direction as he tipped his hat up in a challenging way. Dante himself glared back at Rufus, knowing exactly why he did that. It was one thing to show off, but it was something else to drag an innocent person into the middle of this just to make an example.
Gray's fist clenched as he too glared at Rufus. 'So, he uses Maker Magic, too. I guess that means it's up to me to defeat him.'
Normally Lector and Frosch would celebrate at their comrade's victory, but even Lector was a bit disturbed over what he just saw.
"Geeze Rufus, you didn't have to go that far." The red Exceed commented.
"That was scary…" Frosh said nervously.
"Hey, we're the number one guild, right?" Sting said. "We gotta show everyone why they can't mess with us."
"But that person down there was innocent!" Rogue protested. "He had nothing to do with Fairy Tail! There was no reason to involve him!"
"Perhaps not, but I think the message got through." Minerva said with a condescending smirk. "We'll make sure Fairy Tail understands why it was a mistake to make an enemy of Sabertooth."
"Damn right." Orga agreed.
Vergil remained silent, offering no comment to what he just saw. Though he wasn't surprised by Rufus' temper tantrum down there, he was still disappointed. Despite his gentlemanly appearance, Vergil knew that Rufus had the temperament of a child and was often quick to anger when things didn't go his way. But it seems that Vergil's words and advice to change that had just gone in one ear and out there other. Honestly, he was really getting sick of being Sabertooth's babysitter, keeping them all in line, especially when none of them so much as listen to him.
"Oh, poor Eve…" Jenny felt extremely sympathetic toward their fallen friend.
"I'm sure he's in good hands. The staff of this tournament will take care of him." Hibiki assured.
"That Sabertooth punk has got some real nerve." Ren glowered. "I'll make sure he gets what's coming to him."
"What do we do, Meister?" Hibiki asked Ichiya. "Eve aside, our team's rank has fallen significantly."
"Rest easy, my friends." Ichiya assured. "Like the linguine parfum of a fragrant flower." He raised his finger with the person in the bunny suit behind him mimicking his motions. "We have a secret weapon that is certain to lead us to victory." Hibiki, Jenny, and Ren just stared blankly for a few seconds. "Yes, we have a secret weapon." They directed their attention to the one in the bunny suit, as that was likely what Ichiya was referring to as that individual gave a nod in confirmation. "It's so important that I had to mention it to you twice."
"Very informative, sir." Hibiki and Ren both bowed.
"And you won't even tell us what it is?" Jenny asked.
"In order to maximize effectiveness, I had to keep it secret even from my own team. Don't take it personally." Ichiya said.
"Kinda still wish he'd tell us who it is in that costume." Hibiki whispered
"Think it's somebody who's not in our guild?" Ren asked. "Sometimes you gotta bend the rules to get what you want."
Mato then stepped forward into the middle of the arena. "And now, it's time for the third match of the day!" The mascot and referee of the tournament announced as the next two competitors stepped into the arena.
"Bringing the thunder is Fairy Tail B's Laxus Dreyar!" Chapati announced as the man faced his masked opponent. "Going up against the mysterious man in the metal mask, Raven Tail's Alexi!"
"Kick his ass!" Natsu shouted as Wendy smiled next to him.
"Of course, it's someone from Ivan's guild." Erza commented.
"But this is Laxus we're talking about. I'm sure he's got this." Lucy assured.
"I wouldn't put it past Raven Tail to try and cheat again, though." Gray stated.
"The man's going up against someone from his pop's guild, huh? This should be interesting." Dante would be paying close attention to this match.
"Good luck! You can do it, Laxus!" Mira cheered for him.
"What do you guys think's gonna happen here?" Nero asked. "Raven Tail's run by his dad, right? You think Laxus might have mixed feelings about it?" Nero spoke from experience, remembering when he had to fight Credo back when they were on opposite sides.
"No way." Cana assured. "Laxus knows Ivan's a creep, he's not gonna go easy on him."
"Perhaps not, but I have a bad feeling about this." Juvia said as she looked nervously.
Gajeel didn't say anything as he looked into the arena briefly before glancing upwards slightly toward the audience, where he saw Ivan leaning against the backwall with his usual sinister expression. The Iron Dragon Slayer's eyes narrowed as he remembered what Ivan told him the previous night. Whatever Raven Tail was planning, he had a feeling it was about to go down right now.
Done.
This was a fun chapter. I really enjoyed writing Erza's 1v100 match in Pandemonium as she had a chance to show off just what she was capable of. She didn't use Armadura Fairy or Armadura Diabla this match because she's conserving them for another time when she enters the arena, but don't worry, Titania will show just how far she's come with them when that time comes.
And Cana appears to have mastered Fairy Glitter, or at least managed to pull it off without tearing herself apart like what she tried last time. Training with Gildarts and Makarov for three whole months have paid off.
We also had a match between Wally and Risley, which was fun as both put up a good fight. I expanded a bit with Risley's Gravity Change magic in that she can absorb the inertia and momentum of physical strikes against her body and use them to fuel her own magic power, as well as increase the force of gravity between each of her own strikes.
And of course, there was Rufus and Eve's battle. Like in canon, Sabertooth had claimed victory. But Rufus was much more ruthless here, Dante's attack on their guild leaving a bad impression on him, so he decided to take it out on Eve. The audience is already beginning to see Sabertooth's true colors, but this is only the beginning. Wait till we get to the Naval Battle in Day 4 and things are really gonna get ugly there.
Next up, we have Laxus facing off against Raven Tail. I want that to have a chapter all to itself as I've got some special plans there that I'm sure you'll enjoy.
I hope this chapter was to your liking as I really enjoyed writing it. Until the next update, I wish you all good health. See ya later.
