Ricardo sighs and rocks Clara slowly, feeling his own exhaustion wearing him down as she fights sleep in his arms. "C'mon," he murmurs, stroking her cheek. "Let daddy sleep, huh? You've had a long day, you've gotta be tired."
She whines and fusses and he clucks over her, kissing her forehead. "I hope you're not getting your papi's insomnia," he says lowly, walking her back over to the rocking chair and settling into it with a sluggish exhale.
He's not sure how much time has passed until something lightly plucks Clara from his grasp. "No," he grumbles, forcing an eye open and looking around. He relaxes when he realizes it's Alicia, blinking sluggishly up at her.
"You fell asleep," she tells him softly, carrying Clara over to her crib and settling her in, leaning over to lightly kiss her. "She's dozed off, so she should be alright for awhile. Come on, let's go to bed." She holds a hand out and, when Ricardo laces their fingers together, lightly tugs him to his feet.
They walk quietly through the hall to their room and Ricardo collapses into bed with a groan, sighing as Alicia cuddles up next to him. He holds her close and stares up at the ceiling with blurry vision, sighing softly. "Someone suggested something on Twitter I can't stop thinking about," he murmurs, trailing his fingers slowly up and down her spine.
"Oh?" she breathes.
"Yeah. I think it might be time to expand the school," he says thoughtfully.
She hums. "You think so? Things are going that well?"
"Yeah. I mean, I'll think it through, and talk about it to some people, of course, but..." He shrugs gently, careful not to jostle her too much. "I think it'll be good. Yeah."
"I trust in you," she whispers into his skin, already half asleep. "I know you'll make the right choice."
"I hope so," he sighs, following her into a deep sleep.
