The scene is set inside of a rather messy room. If you listen carefully to the doors leading outside of the room towards the hallway, you can hear the chuckles coming from children standing in the hallway right outside of the room. They seem to be devising a scheme against the lone person who is sleeping on the top part of a bunk bed.

"C'mon Rob, this is too funny for you to wuss out now!" A male voice calls out to a female. "I dunno guys, this seems like too much even for him" A female says back. "Also, I told you to stop calling me that, Curtis. My name is Robin!" She says quickly after in a more annoyed tone. It is now revealed that the male's name is Curtis McIntyre, and the female's name is Robin Hopkins. "Whatever, jeez. Learn how to take a joke" Curtis responds back. As they are bickering outside of the room, a door across from them opens up to reveal another female who has very close similarities to Robin. Behind her is a Furfrou that has been groomed into a more gothic version of the Kabuki Trim. As the female walks out of the neater looking room, the groomed Furfrou walks out of the room and makes its way down the stairs and into the first floor of the house.

Looking back at the now open door, Curtis asks "Ravin, what are you doing up?" The second female now revealed as Ravin McIntyre, the almost identical twin of Robin Hopkins does a morning stretch after getting dressed and stepping out of the room, she has straightened, shiny brown hair going down to her lower back with straightened bangs covering her forehead and eyes. She is seen wearing dark blue jeans, black sneakers, and a black tank top with a black bubble vest over it. "Yeah sis, you never get up in the morning" Continued Robin as she and Curtis get up from the uncomfortable crouched position they were originally in. Ravin finishes her morning stretch and looks over at her siblings standing in front of the boys room.

"Don't you remember? Today is the day we get to go out and explore the region" Ravin explains nonchalantly while keeping a straight face. Robin springs up in surprise "That's right! I completely forgot it was today. I have to hurry up and get dressed!" She says in a rush as she runs into the room Ravin has come out of to quickly change out of her bedroom attire into something more appropriate. Curtis sighs in disappointment "Oh yeah, today's the day you three go out and get your own pokemon"

"Cheer up darling, your time will come eventually. It's just not your turn yet" An older female voice can be heard coming closer from the stairway. She reveals herself to be a curvy light skinned curly haired ginger woman in her late 30's, and also the mother of all the children, otherwise known as Daphne McIntyre. "Now stop trying to wake your brother up in the form of pranks and let me show you how the professionals do it" She finishes her sentence with a devious smile on her face. "Alright children, stand back" Daphne says as she motions for her kids to stand back. They all do as told and she reaches for a tiny luxury ball on her belt. She enlarges the ball and soon after it opens by itself to reveal a shiny white light going from the pokeball to the ground and materialising into a pokemon that reveals itself to be a Meganium.

The pokemon cries out as it is sent out of its pokeball after being in there for quite a bit. Daphne smiles and pets Meganium and the pokemon coos back in enjoyment. "Alright Meganium, time for the usual wake up call" Exclaims Daphne as Meganium says it's name back in response. The pokemon then spawns vines from under its flower petals and makes them stretch inside of the room where the lone person is sleeping on the top bunk. Meganium's vines finally reach the top bunk where the lone child is located and start tickling the child's feet. It seems to be working as his feet are responding to the soft, but rapid touch of the vines rubbing on the bottom of his foot. Meganium suddenly stops tickling and tightly wraps both vines around its feet and pulls the child off of the top bunk with ease, holding the child upside down just over the ground.

"MOOOOM!"
A scream can be heard from inside the room as everybody standing outside is laughing at the reaction he had from awakening upside down. "Mom, let me down!" Exclaims the male from inside the room in a soft panic. "Only if you get dressed to go get your first pokemon. You and your sisters are already late Freddie!" Daphne replies back as her and her two children standing besides Meganium hold back their snickers. "Why didn't they get your wake up treatment?" Asks the newly revealed Freddie McIntyre as he gets put down after being held upside down. "Well that's because your sisters are a step ahead of you and are already dressed" Daphne answers smoothly. "Now move it" She adds as she returns Meganium back into it's reserved luxury ball and walks down the steps. She stops halfway down and turns back. "That goes for you and your sister as well" She says followed by a wink as she continues down the steps.

Robin bursts out of the opposite room with curly brown hair going halfway down her back and curly brown bangs covering most of her forehead. She is wearing checkered vans, thin white socks that reach halfway up to her knees, Jean shorts that hug her waist a little tight, and a pastel pink t-shirt with a cute Buneary design on it. "Aww man, I missed mom's famous wake up call?" Robin asks with the sound of disappointment. "Yeah you did. You missed everything while doing whatever girls do that take up their time getting ready" Curtis claps back as Robin rolls her eyes. "Whatever little brother, I still heard it" She says as she and her twin Ravin are both walking down the steps. "WhAtEvEr LiTtLe BrOtHeR, i HeArD iT" Curtis mocks her sister after he sees her disappear from his field of view. Moments later, Freddie McIntyre steps out of the room wearing grey sneakers with white bottoms, camouflage green pants, and a black polo t-shirt. He still seems to be a little shaken up from… well, being shaken. "Finally!" Says Curtis impatiently. "You take longer than Robin to get ready in the morning" Curtis adds with a laugh in the end. "Whatever you say Curt, you can't rush perfection 'cause otherwise the flaws start to show" Freddie says as he runs his fingers through his curly jet black hair. "Whatever that means, I'm going downstairs. Your sisters and Ronnie are already waiting" Says Curtis as he makes his way down the stairs

The scene cuts to the front of a two story house in the confinement of a white picket fence, where two children (Robin and Freddie) are facing the front steps where their mother Daphne is saying her final farewells to her children before they venture off into the unknown by themselves. Ravin has already said goodbye and has made her way to the local pokemon breeder to pick out her first pokemon.

Robin and Freddie are walking through the small town on their way to the local pokemon pokemon breeder, who happens to be their father. "I can't wait to see what kind of pokemon dad has in the ranch!" Robin exclaims excitedly. She can't contain her excitement as she has been skipping since she's left the house. "Do you think Dad's gonna give us pokemon like Bulbasaur, or Mudkip like they do in other regions?" She asks out of curiosity. "Sis, you should know by now that dad has all kinds of pokemon in that ranch. He built it to have environments of all kinds" Explains Freddie in a dull matter. Freddie has been quiet since he stepped out of the house. Robin stops skipping and stops Freddie from walking any further. "Alright Freddie-boy, you're usually a lot more up beat and energetic. What's on your mind?" Robin pokes at Freddie as he snaps back to reality. "Sorry about that sis, it's just that… I had this weird dream last night" Freddie explains as he scratches the back of his head after being read like a book by his sister. "Ohoho, a dream you say?" Robin raises an eyebrow and taps her fingers. They continue walking as they pass by the Vileplume statue right in the middle of the town. "So tell me about this weird dream you had last night, and it better not be anything weird" She added in the end while crossing her arms. Freddie in retaliation raised his arms with a sweat drop coming down his face. "Nothing like that Robin, I promise" Freddie says with his arms still up. "Good, now spill the tea" Robin says

"Whoa, so you're saying you were stuck in a cosmic forest with all sorts of powerful pokemon. And that an oversized Venusaur with scars on it took you to see the end of an amazing battle?" Robin asks while getting closer to the ranch. "Pretty much. Except it all felt real to the touch, as if I was actually there in person to witness that amazing battle. The way that Espeon was shooting Zap Cannons and the way that Pikachu managed to go speeds so fast where you couldn't see it anymore unless it stopped" He explains with his eyes closed in amazement as he is replaying that battle in his head over and over again. "Speaking of battles, look over there on the field!" Robin exclaims as she points towards a field made for pokemon battles. "It looks like Ravin is having her first pokemon battle against someone. C'mon slowpoke, let's go over there and watch!" She says as she pulls him towards the direction she's running.

They make it to the field where there are a group of people all around the outside, giving enough space for the pokemon being sent out to have a battle without being cramped. On the left side is Ravin with a single pokeball on her waist. On the right is one of the kids from the next town over. I believe his name is Takashi Miramoto, but everybody calls him Taka for short. He must have come to the ranch and received his first pokemon today as well.

"Looks like the day has finally come, the day we find out who ends up on top in the art of combat!" Taka exclaims with a grin forming after. Ravin, unmoved by his sentence, reaches into her bag and grabs a small pokeball, making it larger by pressing the button in the center. "Let's get this over with so everybody can watch you lose your first battle" Ravin says as the crowd of teenagers jump with excitement with a mix of instigation to continue the back to back clap backs. "Alright Whismur, let's show everybody what you got!" Ravin exclaims with rare excitement as she tosses the ball and it opens in a white light, revealing itself to be a small dull purple pokemon with ears over it's head that have yellow tips. The pokemon cries out it's name in excitement as it witnesses the cheering crowd around it. "So that's what you chose? I never would have expected it. Unfortunately, your 5 minutes of fame is up. Go, Rolycoly!" Taka finishes his sentence as he throws a pokeball out in the field, opening and revealing itself to be a small circular coal pokemon with a rough edge and a single orange eye on its front center.

Looking at the pokemon, it seems to move around with a wheel. "Ladies first, it wouldn't be nice otherwise" Taka says with a smile going from ear to ear, failing to contain his excitement. Ravin, unmoved by his statement, insists he go first. Before she could finish her sentence, Taka calls for an attack. "Alright Rolycoly, start this off with a Rapid Spin!" Rolycoly follows command and starts spinning in circles rapidly and moves towards Whismur with much kinetic force. "Whismur, use Screech quick!" Ravin commands as Whismur takes a deep breath and does a war cry loud enough for most of the crowd covering their ears in discomfort. The cry seemed to work as Rolycoly lost balance and stopped spinning. "Now Whismur, use Astonish!" Ravin exclaims as Whismur makes its way to Rolycoly while screaming erratically and pounding into Rolycoly repeatedly. Unbeknownst to her, Taka is seen smiling from a distance deviously. "Use Incinerate!" He says with triumph as Rolycoly's single eye starts glowing orange. "Knock it back with Pound!" Ravin exclaims quickly to try and save Whismur from taking major damage. Whismur's tiny arm starts glowing white as it swings towards the opposing pokemon and knocks it away a couple of feet, causing it to hit a rock.

The crowd of teenagers turn their head to the coal pokemon to see if it fainted or not, but everybody watches in amazement as the pokemon's single eye is still glowing orange. "Now Rolycoly, unleash!" Taka says as he pushes up his glasses with his index finger. The pokemon then unleashes a strong flamethrower aimed at Whismur. There's not much time until Incinerate hits Whismur as Ravin is devising a plan in her head. Then a lightbulb goes off. "Whismur quick, use Pound to launch yourself in the air and finish with a Body Slam!" Ravin explains the somewhat complex command to Whismur as the pokemon quickly pounds the ground with force to launch itself in the air, narrowly avoiding the attack. The crowd watches with amazement as Whismur is flying in the air towards Rolycoly. Whismur puts all of its weight on his stomach and starts falling. Taka is under pressure now as he is sweating with nervousness. "Use Incinerate and aim it at Whismur" Taka exclaims as Rolycoly shoots fire from it's single eye upwards, a direct hit. Incinerate is unfortunately not enough and didn't have enough distance to toss Whismur as he makes direct contact with Rolycoly at a high temperature due to being hit with fire previously. The crowd gets close to see Rolycoly on it's side with a white swirl on it's single orange eye. The winner was announced and the crowd started cheering in a frenzy.

"Unbelievable!" Taka exclaims while returning his pokemon to it's ball. "Bested in front of my peers, and by a girl no less!" He adds before sighing in disappointment. Freddie and Robin run through the crowd towards Ravin to congratulate her on her first win. "Ravin, oh my gosh! I didn't think you had it in you, that was amazing!" Robin says with a bright smile on her face. "Yeah sis, that was pretty badass the way Whismur took that win last second. I thought you were done for at first!" Freddie adds with enthusiasm. "It was nothing, I was just thinking on my feet. Whismur did all the heavy lifting" Ravin says as she picks up her Whismur off the ground. "Whismur-Whis!" Adds the pokemon as it feels uplifted having won its first battle. "That battle has my spirits up. I'm curious as to what you guys are gonna choose as pokemon. Let's go to the ranch together, it's just up the road. I'm sure dad would love to hear about my first win!" Says Ravin with a smile as she leads them to their father's ranch to finally choose their first pokemon.
