On Pandora, human civilization was thriving. Several large cities were established on the moon with dome energy fields that allowed humans to breathe without the need for a mask. These cities were just as technologically advanced as on Earth with factories, electrical grid, complex transportation systems, farms, water treatment facilities, apartments, and so forth. Pandora was a place for the elite ranks to go on vacation, but it was also an assignment for all ranks that qualified. The threat of the Na'Vi to the human cities was negligible but missions outside the dome were under constant attack by guerilla warfare.
Alex opened her eyes in sick bay and saw nurses surrounding her. "You're just fine. Just lie still. Stay calm," they said to her. Instantly triggered, Alex thrashed about on her bed, got up, and began fighting with everyone around her. She was now in a female Na'Vi body where she was much taller and had blue skin, yellow eyes, a cat-like face, and black hair.
"Alex, it's me. Kelly," Kelly said to calm her down. Kelly was also in a Na'Vi body, the only real difference between them was that her hair was longer and straight while Alex's hair was a lot shorter.
"Kelly? That you?" Alex asked befuddled.
"Yep," Kelly nodded.
"Alright, let me go," Alex said, calmed down. She looked at herself in the glass window to see her reflection. "Wow, even as an alien, I look butch."
Brainiac 5 then entered the room. "The connection between your human bodies and your Na'Vi bodies is strong," he reported.
"Look, I'm just here on vacation. I'm not interested in your colonial conquistador's genocidal acts of barbarity on the natives," Alex clarified for him.
"Of course," Brainiac 5 replied. "Should you run into any trouble outside the bubble, we can disconnect you from this body to avoid any pain and discomfort."
"Like the natives capturing us, torturing us, and killing us?" Alex assumed.
"Precisely," Brainiac 5 nodded.
"Alex, it's going to be fine," Kelly assured her. "If we encounter the natives, we'll tell them the truth. They'll understand and leave us alone once they know why we're here."
"Your naivety amuses me," Brainiac 5 said to her.
"I want a rifle," Alex demanded.
"Certainly," Brainiac 5 allowed.
Alex and Kelly took a Hercules cargo ship down to the surface where it landed at the airstrip. Both of them wore military camouflage uniforms with Alex's rank of princess and Kelly an ensign. Inside the hangar, they found 4-Star General Ardmore kicking ass on a punching bag. She wore a mech suit allowing her to punch and kick while suspended several feet off the ground. In Alex's new body, she was the same height as the general.
"General Ardmore," Alex addressed.
"Good to meet you, Your Highness," Gen. Ardmore said as she gave Alex a salute. Alex respectfully saluted her back. "Walk with me, please."
Alex and Kelly followed Gen. Ardmore around as she gave them a tour of the city. "The new ops center is over there," she pointed out. "These swarm assemblers can put up a building in six days."
Alex eyed dozens of insect-looking robots that went about their tasks around them. "We've done more here in the last month than in the last thirty. We're no longer building mines. We now have a greater mission." Gen. Ardmore said as they entered the ship-building factory.
"Is it because Earth is dying?" Kelly asked concernedly
"Oh, no, Earth is fine, never better. We're here to tame the frontier, make this a second home for humanity, and convert the natives to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ," Gen. Ardmore said casually. "But, before we do that, we have to pacify the hostiles."
The three went into the ops building where TV monitors showed video footage of Na'Vi raids. "The native raids are becoming bolder and more frequent. Their strikes are well-planned, with tight coordination between ground and air assets. Their forces are hitting our outlying sites. The mines, and pipelines, cutting off our supply chain," Gen. Ardmore pointed out.
"Where is their base of operations," Alex asked going into military mode.
"It's a cave system in the Hallelujah mountains somewhere. Every time we send our forces there, we take losses. Within ten minutes, the enemy's air force is all over us," Gen. Ardmore said, showing them both a video of Na'Vi banshee attacks on Imperial helicopters.
"Yes, well, what you need to do is...," Alex began and then got a look from Kelly. "General, we're just here for sightseeing. We don't mean to interfere or complicate your mission."
"I understand. I've already asked Lord Dox for approval to nuke the whole area from orbit. It's the only way to know for sure we got them all," Gen. Ardmore said coldly.
"Fuck," Alex sighed and then gave Kelly a look. She still shook her head mouthing, "No" to her. "General, I could...negotiate their surrender."
"Well, that would be damn helpful to us," Gen. Ardmore said pleased and then walked off.
"Alex, what the fuck are you doing?" Kelly admonished
"The right thing...I think," Alex replied.
Alex and Kelly were dropped in the middle of the forest. The two of them hiked around and noted the exotic plant life and wildlife all around them. Alex carried a rifle with her and kept a good eye for any threat as they made their way toward the ruin that used to be the Tree of Souls. Upon reaching the spot, the vegetation had sprouted up again but there were still deep indentations in the ground where the bombs had fell. A new Tree of Souls was currently growing where the last one had been destroyed. The Na'Vi gathered around the Tree of Souls but took notice of Alex and Kelly approaching.
"Why are you here, demon?" Tarsmen, the clan leader asked Alex.
"I'm here to save all of your lives. If you do not surrender, they will destroy your base in the Hallelujah Mountains," Alex said to him.
"What has stopped them from doing so up to now?" Tarsmen questioned.
"The Sky People's leader wanted to study the mountains for research but he's losing patience with your raids. He will rain down fire upon you if you do not surrender now," Alex told him.
"And what assurances do you give us, avatar?" Tarsmen asked skeptically.
"I am Princess Alexandra Olsen, the adopted sister of the Supreme Leader. My word to you is law," Alex said to them.
"We have heard this name before," Tarsmen recalled.
"Name all of your demands. I will make it so," Alex beseeched them.
The Na'Vi gave her an odd look wondering if she was for real. "We have many," Tarsmen said finally. And so, Alex negotiated the surrender of the Na'Vi with enormous concessions to the Imperial government.
Alex and Kelly came back to the Imperial City with the results of their negotiation. Brainiac 5, Gen. Ardmore, Alex, and Kelly sat down for a meeting on whether to ratify the new treaty. "We're to arrest and try our own people for crimes against the Na'Vi, establish a tribal reservation over twenty-five percent of the mountainous area, no Imperial buildings within the reservation, and no unauthorized travel passing through it, a Bureau of Na'Vi Affairs, and Imperial physicians, teachers, carpenters, millers, engineers, farmers, and blacksmiths on request," Gen. Ardmore read off.
"What is this bullshit?" she asked pissed off.
"You give them that, you get your surrender," Alex said flatly.
"It would be cheaper for us to just nuke them from orbit," Gen. Ardmore shot back.
"But then you would threaten scientific research on the Hallelujah Mountains," Alex reminded her.
"Like we give a shit. There are floating rocks all over this moon," Gen. Ardmore said dismissively.
Brainiac 5 raised his hand to silence them. "These negotiations by the princess will have significant sway with the Supreme Leader."
"Yeah, no shit," Alex agreed.
Brainiac 5 eyed her with amusement and disdain at the same time. "There are more pieces on the board than just you," he warned her. The two stared daggers at each other.
"Well, we should get going," Kelly said breaking the tension.
As they left, Brainiac 5 turned to Gen. Ardmore. "I wouldn't enlist the princess to perform any additional diplomatic functions in the foreseeable future."
"She sides with the Na'Vi over her own citizens," Gen. Ardmore said displeased.
"The Na'Vi are also citizens of the empire whether they know it or not, want it or not," Brainiac 5 replied.
Soon thereafter, Alex and Kelly took a helicopter ride down south. In front of them was a lagoon where the ocean water was stopped by a perimeter of rock formations that appeared as twisted roots as if artificially shaped to be so. The water on the other side of these rock formations was shallow, warm, and calm with numerous fishing pools. The beaches were of white sand. The Na'Vi village settled underneath the massive root systems of large trees on the coast. A massive forest went all the way up to the water.
"This is far as I go," their pilot informed Alex and Kelly.
"Understood," Alex said to him and then got her parachute ready. She then checked Kelly's parachute.
"They may be hostile," Kelly said concernedly.
"If they kill us, they all perish. Pray they're not that stupid," Alex assured her.
The two then jumped out of the helicopter and then opened gliders. As the helicopter took off back to base, Alex and Kelly glided down toward the beach. The Na'Vi took notice of them and gathered around the shore. Alex and Kelly landed and dropped their packs as the Na'Vi approached. This tribe had light blue skin, aqua-colored eyes, thick tails designed to act as a rudder in the water, and thick fin-like arms. Alex and Kelly put their hands up even as Alex still had a slung rifle.
"For their sakes...leave it," Kelly said to Alex referring to her rifle.
Alex sighed and placed her rifle next to their glider equipment. The Na'Vi cautiously but curiously surrounded them. The Na'Vi were nearly naked except for thin garments of cloth, beads, shells, and seaweed. The females strategically placed their necklaces low enough to cover their nearly non-existent breasts. Their hairstyles were also diverse with various kinds of long braiding for both males and females. Alex and Kelly were easily out of place with straight unbraided hair. Some of the younger Na'Vi got close to Kelly and Alex and flicked their tails.
"Hey, no touching without consent," Alex told them off.
"Alex, chill," Kelly reminded her.
Several tribal leaders arrived on the scene riding Nothosaurus-looking creatures that also had four wings/fins that allowed them to fly and swim. The Na-Vi connected to these creatures through their hair tentacles to pilot them. The tribal chief was a male named Tonowari. He had tattoos on his face similar to Pacific Islanders on Earth centuries ago. For reasons unknown, these alien tribal people independently came up with the same idea.
"I am Ensign Kelly Olsen and this Imperial Princess, Alex Danvers," Kelly introduced.
"I see you," Tonowari said politely even as his mind raced as to what to do with them. A part of him wanted to torture and kill them immediately but he also knew he would be fucked if he did. He was also well aware that their bodies were merely avatars.
However, Tonowari's wife, Ronal, was not nearly as logical. She approached Kelly and Alex pissed off. "I see you," Kelly said politely to her.
"Bitch, why the fuck are you here?" she demanded of Kelly. "Why the fuck are you not killing their asses? What the fuck is wrong with you? Did your balls drop off?" she shouted at her husband.
"Bitch, chill," Tonowari tried to calm her down. He then turned to Kelly and Alex. "Why do you come to us, Kellyolsen?"
"We seek to become honorable members of your tribe," Kelly said ambitiously.
"We are reef people. You are fascist racist environmentally destructive ape creatures from space," Tonowari pointed out. "Your skills will mean nothing here."
"I have a Ph.D. so it should be super-easy, barely an inconvenience to learn your ways," Kelly said confidently.
"Your arms are thin; your tails are weak. You will be slow in the water. You're not even true Na'Vi. They have demon blood!" Ronal critiqued.
"Look, we're sky people using cloned avatar bodies. We're not hiding it. We will adapt, okay?" Kelly said to them.
"I don't like the sky people any more than you do. They're Kryptonian, Brainiacs, and Insane, but we are humans. I am the Supreme Leader's sister, but I am not like her. I can keep the sky people at bay. I can keep the peace. I can help you retake your world back," Alex told them.
The Na'Vi were not persuaded and found Alex arrogant and pretentious. They hissed at the Imperial princess who dared to make their village a vacation resort. "I apologize for my colleague. It's been a long journey," Kelly excused.
"Kelly, what the fuck?" Alex said under her breath.
"We are not at war with the sky people. We cannot let you bring the war here," Tonowari said to them.
"We're both done with war. Us being here prevents war," Kelly told them.
Tonowari wasn't too convinced of that but understood the logic of it. "The Imperial Princess will stay with us as a hostage. Treat them as one of us. Now, they do not know the sea. So, they will be like babies taking their first breath. As such, no one better flirt with them, touch them, or mate with them. Teach them our ways, so they do not suffer embarrassment."
"Thank you," Kelly said politely.
Kelly and Alex were escorted to their quarters within the village. Attached to the trees was a web-like plant material that formed bridges between each hut. The huts were triangular in shape, but their walls were curved. There were three large openings on either side and the top making privacy an issue. Inside the hut, there was a hole in the center leading to the water below that served presumably to take a shit.
"Yeah, this will work," Alex said approvingly.
Kelly was now not so certain as the tables had turned. "Sure, no different than a field assignment. I just wish there was more privacy."
"We might have to make our own blinds," Alex said thoughtfully.
"Alex, we have to be careful. We don't know how these people will react to...us," Kelly said obviously.
Alex rolled her eyes. "We may be completely out of our element but, in no time, we'll be their savior."
Later that day, Kelly went swimming with the youths. Her Na'Vi body was not suited for the water, and she didn't know how to swim. However, Kelly also didn't fear death by drowning since she was in an avatar body. She stayed in the shallow waters and eyed in wonder the alien coral and fish. The water was crystal clear. Despite Earth and Pandora never interacting with each other since their formation billions of years ago, Kelly couldn't help but notice how similar life had evolved. Kelly encountered alien versions of jellyfish, squid, manta rays, and pufferfish. While the youths remained underwater long and deeper, Kelly frequently came up for air.
The youths then gave Kelly a class on how to ride a Plesiosaurus-looking creature. Kelly connected her hair tentacle to that of the creature and was immediately taken for a ride. Kelly lost hold of the Plesiosaurus as it tried to throw her off. As she rose to the surface, the Plesiosaurus slapped its fin on the water to splash her in disgust.
Meanwhile, Tonowari worked with Alex to connect with Nothosaurus. It took several Na'Vi to hold the creature in place. Once Alex connected her hair tentacle, the Nothosaurs resisted as if sensing something queer about its rider. "This one is not easy to master. Perhaps, we should start with...," Tonowari said.
"I got this," Alex said confidently as she got on.
Alex went for a ride on the surface of the water and then into the air. Alex struggled to stay on as the Nothosaurus tried to buck her off. The Nothosaurs then dived into the water and sped off leaving Alex behind. "Son of a bitch," Alex muttered.
A distance away, Kelly sat on the ocean floor and peacefully meditated on the beautiful scenery. Her Plesiosaurs took notice of her and gave her a curious look. Kelly conducted reverse psychology by ignoring it. The Plesiosaurus eventually allowed Kelly to bond to it and off they went across the reefs. After a decent tour of the reefs, Kelly joined the youths for some surface meditation.
"Imagine a flickering flame, you must slow down your heartbeat, breathe in, breathe from here, breathe out slowly," Reya said to Kelly as she touched her chest and stomach. "Kellyolsen, your heartbeat is fast."
"Sorry, I'll try to focus," Kelly said, slightly unnerved by the female Na'Vi being so physical with her.
As it became evening, Kelly became proficient with her Plesiosaurs to the point that she was able to coordinate with the other youths in an underwater dance.
On the other side of the moon, it was still day. Mon-El made his presence known on Pandora and brought with him several of his Insane officers: Eltro, Ol, Dax, and Laurel. The five of them hooked up to Na'Vi bodies to infiltrate the Na'Vi resistance and take them down from the inside. They made absolutely no attempt to fit in. Their Na'Vi bodies had military haircuts and they wore sunglasses, military uniforms and boots, and were armed with rifles. They also wore combat vests to protect them from toxic arrows and hold their ammunition, grenades, radios, and other equipment. All five of them looked completely out of place following the Insane philosophy to look cool at all times.
The five took a helicopter to the mountainous forest area. Upon landing, Mon gave his squad the briefing. "Kelly Olsen has gone ground. Doesn't matter. We'll find her and her bat-shit crazy wife. To do so, we go Na'Vi, full hilt. That means we eat Na'Vi...," Mon began. His squad began chuckling at that.
"Let me rephrase that. We eat like the Na'Vi, we ride Na'Vi...," Mon said. Again, his squad began laughing.
"Damn it. I mean, we ride dragon banshees like the Na'Vi. We think like the Na'Vi. And that also means we speak Na'Vi," Mon said. "Laurel, you good on their language?" Mon asked.
"I talk like a three-year-old...," Laurel shrugged.
"Good enough," Mon determined.
Mon and his squad made it to the floating mountains to capture them a banshee dragon. "Now, I've already done this before and it's a pain in the ass. We're going to take a shortcut," Mon said to his squad as he took out his tranquilizer dart rifle. He fired on several dragon banshees knocking them out. "Connect your hair tentacles to them and beat their ass into submission," Mon ordered.
The next morning on the other side of the moon, Alex was getting better at riding her Nothosaurus. Kelly continued to mediate with Reya which involved more touching. "The sea is around you, in you. The sea is your home. Our hearts beat in the womb of the world. Our breath burns in the shadows of the deep. The sea gives and the sea takes. Water connects all things. Life to death. Darkness to light," Reya told her.
"That's really deep...pun intended," Kelly smiled.
That night, Reya and the other youths showed Kelly that by attaching jellyfish wings to their backs, they could breathe underwater. It would be a useful tool that was never utilized again. Kelly became more comfortable with the water and made her way deeper and deeper. Nature, itself, also seemed to be connecting with her. The youths watched amazed as schools of fish interacted with her.
Resentful of the two humans and thinking them queer, the male youths sought to dispatch one of them. They lured Kelly to the Three-Brothers natural landmark on a fishing trip. The youths brought spear crossbows with them. "You go ahead. I'll just watch," Kelly declined when they tried to give her one. Despite being in a fishing village, Kelly kept to her vegan lifestyle.
Kelly observed the youths as they scored a few hits on the fish. She wasn't aware that the blood in the water attracted a much bigger fish. The youths then quickly ditched Kelly knowing what was going to happen next. Kelly rose to the surface and looked around. "Hey, guys, where you at?" she shouted. Suddenly, a giant Kronosaurus appeared from below the surface and tossed Kelly and her Plesiosaurus in the air. The Kronosaurus went after the Plesiosaurus and got a bite on it. The faster Plesiosaurus, however, managed to escape and took off. The Kronosaurus then targeted Kelly.
Kelly took cover within the reefs. The Kronosaurus managed to tear apart the rock-hard reefs forcing Kelly to move from one reef to the next. The Kronosaurus aggressively tore through the reefs to get at Kelly. Bleeding and nearly out of the air, Kelly tried her mediation technique. When that epically failed, she went to the surface. The Kronosaurus was immediately on her. Right before it could strike, a Basilosaurus whale came out of nowhere and slammed into the Kronosaurus' side. The Basilosaurus forced the Kronosaurus up against an underwater cliff wall and tore into its side causing massive blood loss. Kelly attempted to get to the surface but then passed out from oxygen deprivation.
Kelly awoke to find her on the back of the Basilosaurus above water. "What the hell?" she wondered. Kelly quickly discovered that the whale had four fins, four eyes, and six blowholes. One of the whale's smaller fins was amputated and the other fin had a metal harpoon stuck in it. "You saved my life," Kelly said appreciatively to the whale. "Let me help you."
The whale allowed Kelly to work on the harpoon. She unscrewed the bottom piece off and then pulled the top piece out. "Friends?" Kelly asked the whale. The whale gave its equivalent of "piss off" and took off not caring if it swatted Kelly with its fins in the process. However, the whale appeared to have second thoughts and came back to give Kelly a ride on its fin. Kelly hung out with the whale for the rest of the day since her ride was gone and she was totally lost.
For the remainder of the night, Kelly remained with the whale. Their bodies glowed slightly in the dark, an evolutionary adaptation that appeared to make no sense. On Pandora, the night sky was perfectly clear. Kelly pointed out her own star, Sol, a particularly bright star in the night sky. Upon arriving at the village, Kelly said her goodbyes to the whale. "We'll see each other again," she told him and then swam over to the village.
Kelly found herself greeted by the entire village. Search parties had been sent all over to find her. Alex had informed Tonowari several times that if anything happened to Kelly, his village was fucked several times over. Still, when Kelly did show up, Alex lost her inhibitions and gave Kelly a passionate kiss in front of all the Na'Vi. There was an awkward silence as the Na'Vi gave WTF looks.
Alex then quickly turned to anger. "Why were you out there so far out?"
"No, my son knows better than to take her out outside the reef. The blame is his," Tonowari admitted and then made his son kneel apologetically.
"That's attempted murder, asshole," Alex pointed out.
"Look, it's okay. No harm, no foul," Kelly downplayed. "It was actually my idea. I insisted," she lied.
"Is this true?" Tonowari asked his son.
"What the fuck were you thinking?" Rolen demanded.
"I got this," Alex said as she pulled Kelly away from the crowd to their hut.
Upon entering their hut, Alex eyed Kelly. "That whole thing about you insisting they take you out beyond the reef is bullshit, right?"
"Obviously," Kelly rolled her eyes.
"Figured as much. I'm not an idiot," Alex sighed. "That kid needs an ass whipping."
"I don't believe in corporal punishment and we're not here to cause trouble or be a burden. We must kill them with kindness, return bigotry with love," Kelly said.
"Cuz, that's always worked against everyone we've ever met," Alex mocked.
Tonowari's son then entered the hut. "Why did you speak for me?" he asked confused.
"Because I know what it's like to be a disappointment," Kelly said sympathetically.
"Damn...just damn," the boy said and then left.
The next morning, Kelly shared her story of the whale with the other youths. "It's Payakan," Reya identified. "He's always alone because he's an outcast, a rogue bull. He's an asshole. He's a killer of his own kind. You are lucky to be alive."
"Maybe he's just misunderstood. He saved my life. I'm going to learn the truth of this," Kelly said resolved.
Kelly took her cowardly faithless Plesiosaurus out to the Three Brothers natural landmark and looked for the whale. The whale eventually did show up. Kelly used some sign language she learned from the village to talk to the whale. "Why are you an outcast? What happened?" Kelly asked.
"It's too painful," Payakan replied.
"I trust you. You can trust me," Kelly said going into shrink mode.
The whale didn't give an immediate answer. Instead, he gave Kelly a ride and murdered a shit-ton of fish with his big gaping mouth. Kelly hung out with the whale as he swam around and breached the surface in high jumps. Kelly no longer had a fear of the water or predators as she got used to her avatar body. "Let me feel your pain, share it with me," Kelly requested of the whale.
Payakan obliged her as she connected with him. The experience became too intense for Kelly to bear, and she immediately had a seizure. Payakan's long life of exile, suffering, and self-loathing was too much for Kelly to bear even as it was similar to her own.
The youths found Kelly and brought her to the village. Kelly was unresponsive to any kind of stimuli. Alex reluctantly called Brainiac 5 to give her tech support. He arrived by helicopter at the village and scanned Kelly's brain. "There's no bleed, no skull fracture, no effects of hypoxia. The brain looks good," Brainiac 5 determined.
"I don't call whatever this is good," Alex said scornfully.
"There is interictal activity right here in the prefrontal. She's definitely had a seizure," Brainiac 5 determined.
"Well...no shit," Alex agreed.
"We can rule out toxins," Brainiac 5 said as he quickly analyzed a blood sample.
"So, what is it?" Alex asked impatiently.
"I see I'm not needed here," Rolen said resentfully and then went to leave.
"Wait, you're the village witch doctor. We need you," Alex said to her.
"Remove these things," Rolen ordered.
"Out! You have done nothing," Alex ordered Brainiac 5 out.
"I don't feel that's very fair. I've eliminated several medical causes within minutes of getting here," Brainiac 5 protested.
"Take a break," Alex softened her tone.
Brainiac 5 and Alex waited patiently as Rolen did her stuff which consisted of some kind of acupuncture therapy. "You do realize acupuncture is bullshit, right? It's not even science," Brainiac 5 said to Alex. "Also, you're giving her several times more time than me."
"Yeah, but I don't entirely trust you. I also think I hate you," Alex said scornfully.
"In the 21st century, if you called an ambulance and made them wait this long, the bill would bankrupt you," Brainiac 5 pointed out.
"If it wasn't for Kara, Clinton would have won and then we'd have free universal health care," Alex shot back.
"Your naivety continues to amuse me," Brainiac 5 smirked.
"Piss off," Alex shook her head dismayed.
"You want the actual diagnosis?" Brainiac 5 asked coyly.
"You knew this whole time?" Alex asked dismayed.
"But, of course. It's epilepsy but not the kind where you get religious visions. In this case, you become even more woke," Brainiac 5 revealed.
"She did say she had connected with a whale," Alex recalled.
"Yeah, I wouldn't do that again," Brainiac 5 advised.
"Like...ever...ever?" Alex asked concernedly.
"If she has a seizure underwater, she could die and that will be inconvenient for all of us," Brainiac 5 pointed out.
Another hour went by as Rolen punctured Kelly's skin, sucked on the wound, and then breathed it out in what could only be described as high-level quackery. "And she will wake up...now," Brainiac 5 calculated.
At that exact time, Kelly woke up. "Well, at least, these people have free health care," Alex considered.
"For this level of care, the physician should pay the patient," Brainiac 5 countered.
"Shut the fuck up, Barney, God damn," Alex said dismayed. Alex then rushed over to Kelly. "You're awake," she said ecstatically and kissed her on the lips greatly scandalizing the natives.
The next day, the Insane squad landed on a whaling ship manned by humans. The whaling ship resembled an amphibious assault landing ship with four propeller engines and a helicopter deck. The Insane squad landed on the deck with their dragon banshees greatly freaking out the crew. The captain came out wearing an oxygen mask to meet with Mon.
"You, Scoresby?" Mon asked.
"Are you the asshole that's commandeering my boat?" Scoresby asked irritably.
"Bitch, I commandeered your whole fucking planet and race seven years ago," Mon told him off.
In the command center, Mon and his Insane squad looked over a hologram map of dozens of islands. "The target is pretty much here," Mon said of a specific location.
"Never been up there. I hunt whales. That's what I'm rigged for. That's all my guys do. I've got quotas to make," Scoresby said condescendingly.
"I'll be nice once. Then, I won't," Mon threatened.
"Well, if you can't get out of it, get into it," Scoresby figured.
There was a long awkward silence between them. "Just to be clear...that was a sex joke, right?" Mon asked.
In the village, everyone celebrated the return of the whales. Dozens of them arrived on the scene in family groups. The Na'Vi got on their Nothosauruses and Plesiosauruses and went after them for some whale watching. The Na'Vi were too gentle and environmentally friendly to actually hunt the whales. The whales, for their part, were super-chill with Na'Vi children hanging onto their fins. The Na'Vi and the whales shared stories of their adventures including their sex lives.
At the same time, Mon and his Insane squad went to every single village to interrogate them. Mon showed a hologram of his target to them but got no answers. "They say they don't know anything," Laurel translated.
"That sounds like bullshit," Mon doubted. After threatening to kill them all and burn their huts, the villagers still claimed they had no idea. "Alright, move out," Mon relented and went to the next village.
