The Song Floyd and Willow sing is called "Catchy Song" From the Lego 2 movie. Not sure why, but it felt appropriate.
It had been a month since Velvet and Veneer captured Willow, and she was losing hope. Velvet and Veneer were getting more popular every day so that they could hire an assistant. Their assistant, Crimp, was a lively creature made of what looked like crinkled paper and looked similar to a hairball. Despite being shy and easily pushed around by Velvet and Veneer, Crimp's kindness shone through, even if she didn't feed them often. Velvet had her running around doing things for her, so she didn't have time.
"I'm so tired of this," Willow grumbled when Velvet carelessly tossed her bottle onto her makeup table. Their dressing room was significantly larger than their first, a constant reminder of their captivity. She watched Floyd get placed down after being used by Veneer and sighed, her frustration and helplessness evident in her every move.
"It's no picnic for me either," Floyd muttered crossly.
"At least Veneer doesn't toss you around like a baseball," Willow grunted, crossing her arms.
"Right," Floyd grimaced. "At least there's that." He looked at her, concerned. "Are you in any more pain?"
"Just bumps and bruises," Willow sighed and sat down after pushing her diamond bottle to its upright position. "I'll add it to the collection." She smiled over to her brother, a warm and comforting feeling of their bond enveloping them. "Are you doing okay?"
"Just tired," Floyd admitted before smiling. "Now I think it's your turn. Tell me something else about you and Branch growing up." The two of them had been spending their time together telling stories about what their lives were like.
Willow spent most of their time telling him about her and Branch with his band Kismet and the adventures she had gone on the past few years with Branch and Poppy. She had told Floyd plenty of embarrassing stories about Branch, though she made sure to add plenty of embarrassing stories about herself to keep it fair.
The duo told stories about their childhoods when Velvet and Veneer returned to the dressing room. Willow looked disgusted at the two phony pop stars before grinning at Floyd. "Wanna mess with them?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with mischief and determination.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea," Floyd furrowed his brow in concern. "Velvet already tosses you around because she's bored. Are you sure you want to give her more of a reason to?"
"Trust me, bro," Willow smiled. "This'll be so worth it." She looked over at Velvet, who was doing her makeup in her mirror. "Hey, Velvet!"
Velvet rolled her eyes and looked down at Willow. "What do you want, Troll?"
"I just wanted to show you and Veneer a song Floyd and I have been working on," Willow said with a smile.
Velvet sighed and raised an eyebrow at her, unimpressed. "Fine, let's hear it."
Willow grinned and looked at Floyd. "Just follow my lead." She tapped a beat on her diamond prison before singing a tune.
(Willow)
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head
Floyd sighed in annoyance at Willow's idea before forcing a smile on his face and singing along.
(Willow and Floyd)
'Cause it's so catchy, catchy
It's such a catchy song
Gonna make you happy, happy
Don't try to fight it, sing along
Velvet looked at the two Trolls, incredulous. "What are you two doing?" She glared at Veneer, who started nodding his head to the beat. "Don't encourage this! Whatever this is."
(Floyd)
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' (Head)
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' (Head)
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head
(Willow)
This song's gonna get stuck inside you
Run, but you can't hide, I'll find you
Shine so bright, my bling bling blind you
Sing this song, I must remind you
Everybody roll out, screamin' and a shout
Everybody in the house got it comin' from they mouth
Runnin', runnin', let me get 'em
Y'all have the rhythm stuck in your system?
I'm goin' to the top, everybody goin' to the top
Everybody head goin' to rock, everybody said, "Don't stop," everybody said, "Don't stop," ooh
Floyd's grin relaxed as the two continued to sing. Veneer was enjoying the song, at least.
(Willow and Floyd)
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo'
This song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head
(Floyd)
'Cause it's so catchy, catchy
It's such a catchy song
Gonna make you happy, happy
Don't try to fight it, sing along
"Stop singing!" Velvet growled in annoyance, picking up Willow's bottle. "That has to be the most annoying song I've ever heard."
"But it's so fun," Willow grinned. "You should join us." She winced when Velvet shook her diamond bottle. "Or not. That works, too."
Velvet rolled her eyes and sprayed herself multiple times with Willow's diamond, causing the Troll inside to curl up in pain. "Come on, Veneer. We have an interview later."
"Coming," Veneer smiled, using Floyd's essence before following his sister.
"Did that go as you planned?" Floyd raised an eyebrow at Willow as she curled into a ball at the bottom of her diamond prison.
Willow smiled despite the pain. "It was so worth it. The song is going to be in Veneer's head for hours. Their interview is going to be ruined."
Crimp turned the radio on in the dressing room so they could hear the interview. "We're live with upcoming pop sensations Velvet and Veneer," the voice said over the radio.
"Thank you," Velvet said, a smile in her voice. "We are so excited to be here."
"This song's gonna get stuck inside yo', this song's gonna get stuck inside yo', this song's gonna get stuck inside yo' head," Veneer started singing over the radio.
"Is that a new song you're working on?" their interviewer asked curiously. "It's certainly... interesting."
"Oh no," Velvet said, allowing some annoyance to slip through her voice. "That's just something one of my brother's little toys in our dressing room was playing earlier. And if my brother doesn't stop singing it, I'm breaking that toy in half." Willow cringed at the threat. She may have gone too far by antagonizing Velvet.
"Sorry, sis," Veneer chuckled sheepishly. "It really is good to be here."
Willow tuned out the rest of the radio interview and turned away. "Alright, I'll admit it," Willow admitted, looking at her brother. "I shouldn't have done that. But I can't just sit here and do nothing while they take our life force. And it's not like we can do anything else."
"I know," Floyd sighed and crossed his arms. "But she already doesn't feed you very often, and you know she likes to withhold food when you antagonize her." He huffed and glared at her, concerned. "Why do you insist on doing that?"
"Because if I don't, it's like I've given up," Willow frowned and crossed her arms. "And if I give up," Willow sighed in frustration. "I can't give up. So I fight with everything I can. Even if it's just words and music because it's all I got."
Floyd sighed and sat down. "I get that, but you also have to survive. I can't stand the thought of losing you and not being able to do anything about it. So please, stop trying to antagonize Velvet, at the very least, until your ribs heal. All this shaking and throwing she's been doing has seriously slowed down any healing they may have done."
He wasn't wrong, Willow knew. The singing she did earlier hurt more than it should have, with it being a month since her ribs had broken. And she was almost positive she'd been given a minor concussion at one point when Velvet was especially irate and tossed the diamond bottle she was in at a wall. "I can do that," Willow sighed. "But it's not going to be easy. She's really annoying." She rolled over on her side. "Can you sing that song again?" She looked at him, suddenly feeling tired from the excess use. "The one you said you and our brothers used to sing to Branch when he was a baby."
"Sure," Floyd smiled and leaned his head against the wall of his prison. "Well, I'd like to visit the moon. On a rocketship high in the air. Yes, I'd like to visit the moon, but I don't think I'd like to live there."
Almost two months into their captivity, things took a turn for the worse. Willow was exhausted and in pain from Velvet using her so much. Floyd watched in concern as she curled in on herself away from the fruit Veneer had jammed into her diamond bottle. "Willow, come on. You have to eat something."
Willow grimaced and shook her head. "Not hungry," she muttered. "I'll eat after a nap."
"But you haven't eaten in days," Floyd protested. "Granted, some of that was because Velvet stopped feeding you, but you can't give up. Velvet put some fruit in there an hour ago. I'm begging you, please eat something."
"Fine," Willow sighed and sat up. "If it'll get you to leave me alone." She grabbed the gummy-like fruit Veneer put in her prison and took a bite. She winced at the taste and put it down. "I'm sorry, I can't." She turned away from the fruit. "I'll try again later."
Floyd sighed and sat down, turned away from his sister. "It's fine. At least you tried." Floyd sat in silence while Willow tried to get some sleep. He shut his eyes to get some rest when he heard a thud on the vanity table.
"Yo, Floyd," A voice in front of him whispered.
Floyd opened his eyes, confused, before jumping up. "John Dory?" He grinned widely. "I can't believe it. I never thought I'd see any of my brothers again." He glanced over at Willow. "Willow! Wake up! John Dory is here." He turned to John. "This is our little sister, Willow."
"John Dory?" Willow frowned and sat up, rubbing her eyes. "That's the oldest brother, right?" She stood up and smiled. "Cool."
John Dory smiled and waved before looking at Floyd. "I'm gonna get you two outta here, bro."
Floyd and Willow frowned in panic. "No, you've got to get out of here," Floyd protested. "You don't understand. Velvet and Veneer are giant, pop-obsessed succubi with no talent, and they've been stealing ours." He placed his hands against the prison. "And they'll be back any minute for more."
"What?" John Dory stepped back in shock. "That's even worse than lip-synching. Not my siblings. Not today." He stepped back and rammed his body into the prison.
Willow and Floyd watched, unimpressed, as he tried multiple ways to break the prison. "This makes my attempts to get out seem intelligent," Willow muttered when John Dory tried to break the diamond with spikes protruding from his glove and slamming his face into the diamond.
Floyd shook his head. "No, yours was still the dumbest." He turned to John Dory. "John, John, stop. The bottle is made of diamond, and only one thing is powerful enough to shatter a diamond."
"Right," John said with a smile. "A diamond-shattering diamond hammer." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Where can we get one of those?"
"Try the funk tribe," Willow smiled helpfully. "I'm sure they could come up with something."
"No, guys," Floyd looked at his sibling, tired. "It's the perfect family harmony."
"Of course," John realized with a grin. "The perfect family harmony."
"Our voices sound like garbage," Velvet shouted, annoyed. "We are dying out there. We need more Troll."
"Run, John Dory. Save yourself."
Willow looked at John, panicked. "Don't tell Branch I'm here. Or he'll come up here and put himself in danger just to get me out. I don't want him anywhere near this place. You'll have to do the harmony without him."
"We won't be able to do it without him, though," John Dory protested.
"I don't care," Willow held her ribs as she leaned against her diamond prison. "You cannot put him in danger because of me."
John Dory frowned. "Fine." He took his camera out and took a picture of the two in their prisons. He pulled out his grappling hook and propelled himself back to the vents. "Don't worry, Floyd, Willow. I'll be back with the bros. You have my word."
Willow sighed and sat down. "He's going to get Branch, isn't he?"
"Probably," Floyd smiled. "He's pretty determined when he puts his mind on something."
"Great," Willow sighed, exhausted. She watched as Velvet and Veneer walked in and waited for the pain of getting her talent drained before being tossed aside by Velvet. She grabbed her fruit slice and chewed slowly when the siblings left the room again. "Just another day in paradise."
Floyd watched his little sister with a sad smile. At least she was eating something. He looked at the vent where his brother had disappeared. "Please hurry, John. I don't know how much longer she can last like this."
And now we have John Dory! The next chapter will follow the movie a bit more. I'll even be throwing in the interactions with Branch and the other brothers because those will be different from the movie now that Willow is in danger too. Thank you for your continued support everyone! Love you all and I'll see you next time!
