In 12 hours of training I managed to upgrade and gain a few skills,Alex's sword training regime still comes in handy.
But without the Hero perk my growth is substantially slower.
I slashed the dummy in half.
This sword seems to be promising. It's average currently but the power within it is slowly rising.
The curriculum a beacon was pretty impressive in its own right.
It had standard mathematics and all the other basic classes but it also included survival classes, combat classes and battle strategy classes.
After an uneventful morning it was finally combat class
The blonde witch spoke
,"Today 4 of you will be randomly chosen to battle with standard rules,if your opponent's health bar reaches 10 percent on the monitor you win of course if I see an attack that would cause a fatal injury, I'll stop it."

The white haired girl smirked and walked to the opposite end of the arena.
"You're level 50, doesn't that mean you barely meet the requirements to enter beacon?"
I smile make my way to the arena, it's been a while since an opponent has looked down on me.

The blonde witch chuckled silently across the room amused,I was a level 50 after all.
"Well if I win you'll give me the black king piece and switch places with me"
Ruby gasped in the audience

We both readied our weapons.

I immediately took the initiative and dashed towards her.
My speed took her by surprise but she easily deflected my blow.

An attack like that would use up alot of energy but he hasn't even broken a sweat.
I deflected his attack causing him to fall back but like previously he charged towards me,he attacked me with that That strange sword from all directions.
This isn't the speed of a level 50, he's almost has fast as Ruby.
"Create some distance" I heard Ruby yell on the crowd
"I know that!"
I activated my magic skill and sent him flying back again with gravity magic.
And yet again he propelled himself forward, the end of his blade struck my chest, I quickly used magic to negate some of the damage but my health bar went down by ten percent.
"What?"
The ice queen clutched her chest in pain.
I wasted no time and aimed for her spine to finish her off.
"heh?"
Ice formed around my body holding me in place.
She slowly stood up and clenched her teeth
"You're I'll alot stronger than I thought you were and give you that but this ends now! I'll finish this in 1 attack!"
The ice queen concentrated all her power into her rapier,ice,magic,Swordsmanship and every offensive skill she had and sent a beam of blue light towards me.
There's no way of dodging this, all I could hope for was my damage reduction skills absorbed it.

The blast hit my chest,breaking my ribs on impact but luckily not having enough power to pierce my heart.
The ice queen breathed heavily,fatigued from using most of her energy in one attack and looked in shock when my health bar dropped only by 70%.
Blood dripped out of my mouth but I
survived.

"Give up, this battle is over.",the ice princess declared.
"hahaha,over? It's just begun this much is nothing right?"

My smile grew wider, one more hit and I might die but this battle is already over.
My ribs were already healed, and my health bar slowly rised.
The ice queen used the last of her mana to summon dozens of ice spikes and launched them at me.
I threw my sword at her, piercing the ice spikes and grazing the cheek.

"Oops my hand slipped,I wouldn't want to damage that pretty face of yours."
Just as I expected the ice queen charged in reckless, aiming for my chest.
She used up more and more of her fleeting Stamina
Her movements were now sluggish and predictable so I could easily evade them.
I leaped at her, landing a kick connectiong with her stomach, she gasped for air.
"swish"
I recalled my holy sword which was aligned with ice princess back.

The blonde witch stopped the blade and announced me as the victor.
The crowd clapped and cheered. Nobody expected a level fifty to defeat one of the top 10 strongest first years.
Unexpectedly the ice queen walked up and shook my hand.
"you've bested me fairly and I commend you for that,it seems like the black king piece in your possession is fully deserved"
Without waiting for my answer she walked out of the arena.
Weiss pov
Ruby followed me back to our dorm, asking me if I was ok.
"you're friends with Kang han soo right?" I asked.
"umm I guess so" Ruby answered
"Does he seem a little strange to you?" I questioned her"
"Why are you asking this?"
"Because during our fight he attacked me relentlessly and predicted every single one of my attacks. He never grew tired, even after I broke his ribcage, he seemed to be fighting at 100%"
Ruby gasped,"I knew he was strong for a level 50 but it looked like he would be defeated at any point of the fight.
I shook my head,"Maybe at the beginning but through out the fight I saw him gain numerous skills, like he was constantly getting stronger throughout the battle."
Hansoo pov
I almost felt bad for the blonde hero,his battle lasted 30 seconds.
After a harsh lecture from the the blonde witch it was recess.
Everyone left the arena leaving me alone to train.
I summoned a dummy and fought it unarmed, my close quarters skill was lacking so I needed to improve it.
I suddenly heard footsteps behind me.
"Kang han soo right? we met on the first day of school."
It was the blonde hero
"yeah I'm surprised you survived on the first day"
I punched a hole through the dummy and it fell to the floor.
"so what do you want?" I asked
The blonde hero nervously asked,"well I wanted to ask how a level like you could be so strong"
"I train" I simply stated
"could you tell me how I could train like you?" he body asked me
"why?"
"because I want to get stronger!" he yelled
"why?" I asked again
"I want to be able to protect the people I care about?"
I chuckled,the blonde hero looked at me confused.
"How can you defend others if you can't defend yourself, I don't care about any sappy story and neither will anyone else,to get stronger you need to do it for yourself."
"Why do you want strength than?" he asked
I thought deeply before responding.
"I've realized an agreement would only be established when I was equal, or stronger than the opposition, in strength or otherwise. That is my survival strategy, and would remain so for the future to come as well."
I summoned a dummy equal to the hero and commanded him,"If you can beat it I'll train you."
The blonde witch walked into the arena.
"All students must go to the cafeteria for recess especially those who recently had a battle"
I groan,"but it's so boring doing nothing all day can't you make this one exception"

I reluctantly left with the blonde hero who offered a seat at his table
At the cafeteria I picked a cheese burger,soda and some fries and sat next to JNPR and RWBY.
"For someone who always appears to be training your choose in diet is questionable."
Said the ice princess
I unwrapped my burger and bit into it
"so where's my money?" I asked
The entire table listened to our conversation silently
"tch, you'll get your money when you explain how you beat me"
After a minute of finishing my burger I finally answered, "That wasn't part of the agreement but add in a 5000 lien and I'll give you a review"

I pocketed the money in my dimensional storage before explaining,
"Well first of all your speed was quite lacking,you're never going to defeat someone you can't hit, your endurance is was pretty pathetic too I mean in a real fight all I had to do was tire you out and you'd be dead so my advice is focus on your Stamina and speed."
The entire table braced themselves for the ice princess's outburst.
I simply cracked open the soda can and gulped it down.
Unexpectedly she agreed with my harsh but true review
The ice queen sighed ,"I thought as much,I can't really say your advice is wrong but how exactly should I train? What's your training regime?"
I held out my hand,indicating that information isn't free, the ice queen sighed and handed another 5k lien.
"2 hours of weapon training,2 hours of unharmed training,4 hours of sparing for endurance, an hour of meditation for mental skills and 4 hours of physical fitness training"
"heh!?"
The entire table started at me in shock
"I used to train 6 hours a day before a tournament but isn't 12 hours a little unrealistic?" champion P asked
"which combat school did you go through that?" rwby asked
I didn't go to a combat school but had a mentor who trained me like that for a year.
The ice queen took out her scroll,"what are his details"
"Oh he's dead."
"Oh sorry I didn't mean to bring that up.",the ice queen apologized.
"Don't worry about it,I hated him anyway"
The entire table remained silent for a moment and champion P tried to change the topic.
"Jaune are you OK" she asked the blonde hero,who had been unresponsive the whole recess
"oh yeah of course why wouldn't I be?"
"It's just that we've been noticing cardin Winchester has been picking on you"
"No,we're just joking around besides he's a jerk to everyone"
At another table cardin and his team harrased a rabbit Faunus
Cardin pulled the hair of the Faunus
The entire table except the ice queen looked at him with disgust
As a ex hero I had to deliver justice.
I stood up and walked to their table.
I would try to be a little lenient since one of the teammates 'borrowed' me a weapon
"You should probably stop that before you expelled for racism" I advised them.
I mean that's what the code of conduct saird was the punishment was for it.
Cardin turned around a look at me, removing his attention from the Faunus who sprinted away.
Look what you did, now you're going to have to be the one to entertain us.

"I obviously can't leave you unscathed though, how about I break a finger as a reminder?"

I released his hand,"I'm glad we could come to an agreement, see you on Friday"
At the end of the cafeteria the most Silent member of team rwby watched with a smile on her face.
