Chapter 8

As Christina and Taylor left the exam room Taylor stated, "Your mother took Mrs. Lincoln to a consultation room close to the admission desk and Ryan watching her from close by. According to Ryan she is still not happy. However, since she is no longer having to sit in the general waiting area it's calmed her temper tantrum."

"Taylor, I really want to go in there guns blasting and beat this shit out of her for what she did to Anastasia. But I know I can't. So, what's the game plan?"

"We need to remain calm and get her to dig herself a deep hole. Then we can bury her in it.

If you notice every little flinch and sympathize with the pain she must be feeling she will love being the center of your attention. Hopefully she will drop her guard and give us the opportunity to trip her up. The car she was driving obtained a good deal of damage. She is bound to have other injuries, a seat belt bruise at a minimum, that will help tie her to the car accident."

Christian took and deep breath, "Okay before we deal with the bitch troll, we need to address Mr. Steele transportation and lodging. Call Stephen and see if the weather has cleared enough that we can utilize Charlie Tango. Also, call Andrea and have her book a hotel room for him close to the hospital. Tell her book an upgraded room but not a suite, I don't want him to feel uncomfortable."

Just as they reached the consultation room Dr. Trevelyan emerged from the room.

"Mother!" Christian called out. When his mother turned toward him he continued. "They took Anastasia up to surgery and Taylor told me you were paged away. Is everything okay?"

Grace let out a sigh, "Nothing serious darling, Elena took a fall and was causing a scene because they asked to take a seat and wait her turn. I put her in that consultation room. Looking at her wrist and I believe it could be broken, but that is no reason for her to behave so poorly. I am going to have her moved to an exam room and get Dr. Wiseman to take a look at her since he's transfer your girlfriends care to the surgery team."

"If you think it would help, I can check in on Elena while you make arrangements for her care."

"That's sweet of your dear. I think she would like that as she has always been fond of you." She said smiling and walking away toward the admission desk.

Christian turned to Taylor saying, "Let do this, just don't let me strangle her."

"As long as you do the same, Sir." Taylor replied as he opened the door to the consultation room and entered first. After a quick glance around the room he stepped aside with a single word. "Sir."

Christian stepped into the room, "Thank you Taylor."

Taylor exited the room as Elena scuffed at Christian. "What that hell is that girl doing to you? Thanking the staff now, where is the master of the universe I created?"

Christian ignored her questions and turned the subject around to her. Forcing his voice to sound concerned he asked. "Elena, how are you feeling? Mother told me you fell outside the salon this evening. Didn't the company you hired clear and salt the sidewalk effectively?"

"Oh, Christian it was such a mess. I had just locked up and was making my way to my car when I started sliding on the ice and fell. Getting back to my feet was difficult as anytime I tried to put weight on my hand it was extremely painful."

"That's awful. When you are feeling better send me your contract with the snow removal company and I will have my team review and address the issue for you. Does anything else hurt?"

Basking in the attention Christian was giving her she reached up and touched her left shoulder. "I must admit my shoulders and neck are starting to hurt too."

"I'm sure my mother will be back soon, and we will get you looked at." He patted her hand and asked, "You didn't drive yourself here did you?"

"Oh no, I called an Uber."

"I'll get your keys from you later and have Taylor retrieve your call for you."

Elena paled slightly, "Oh thank you, Christian but that's not necessary."

Her expression paled, and she became quite as Taylor opened the door and reentered the room. "Sir, Stephen has just notified me that the itinerary you request has been approved."

Grace reentered the room with a wheel chair and orderly. "I've got Dr. Wiseman waiting in an exam room for you Elena. Let's go get your wrist checked out."

"Mother, Elena was just telling me her left shoulder and neck are starting to hurt too. Please make sure doctor checks her over for any potential injuries too."

After they wheeled Elena from the room Taylor updated Christian. "Sir, Welch had obtained video footage from a business near the accident scene showing Mrs. Lincoln exiting the vehicle after the accident and leaving the scene. We have forward the video Seattle PD."

Christian slapped him on the back and said, "Great work Taylor. Thank you. Let's head upstairs so I can be close to Anastasia and call her father."
