"What the hell are you doing here?!" Yukimo yelled as she clenched the door handle tight. She was this close to slamming the door in his face, but that would only lead to more problems.
"Is that really how you should greet your guest?" the person questioned, pushing her aside to enter her apartment. She slammed the door shut and followed him toward the living stranger turned and smirked, as if he owned the place and the situation.
"You're not a guest," she replied defiantly, crossing her arms. "Now, what are you doing here?"
"We had a deal!" he began with a stern face. "I'll give you this lovely apartment, which is written in your name, and—"
"I had it written in my name just so you couldn't take it back whenever you felt like it!" she interrupted, her voice rising with frustration.
"Anyway, I'm also paying the rent, and I've paid for your junior high as well," he continued, glaring down at her."But on the condition that you would never use your last name! You would finish junior high and live your life as long as it didn't involve us!"
"And I did. Didn't I?" Yukimo replied sarcastically, playing dumb.
"Don't play dumb! I never said you were allowed to choose a hero course!" he lashed out. "How dare you! I had to see you on the news yesterday wearing the U.A. Academy uniform!"
She was somewhat impressed with how quickly he had acted after seeing her on the news. This was the reason why she was pissed when the reporters shoved their microphones and cameras in her face.
"You never said I wasn't allowed to apply for U.A. Academy. You only told me to finish junior high, and I did," she explained calmly. Yukimo was really pissed and disgusted at seeing him in front of her, but she knew she had to hold on to her straight face. Especially with him. He always tried to bait her to show how upset or troubled or angry she felt, but he always failed. She might have slipped up a bit when she opened the door, but she composed herself very quickly.
"I'm not going to pay for this school," he tried to threaten her.
"No need; that was already arranged." Yukimo smirked, relishing the moment as his expression shifted from anger to confusion.
"Oh? And how do you do that?" he asked, but he didn't get through to her. She was unfazed, as usual. Yukimo knew that as well. The moment she showed any reaction just now would have been her loss. He would know that she wasn't doing something legal and would do anything to find out and use it to destroy her.
'Tch! What a freak!' he thought. He always found her poker face disgusting as he struggled to untangle her intentions. Yukimo had always been the clever one, the one who could dance around his demands with the grace of a seasoned performer. But she also knew she was playing a dangerous game.
"I'm not paying rent until you dr—"
"I'm not using the family name. I finished junior high," she interrupted him, raising her voice slightly. "If you stop paying the rent, you will be the one breaking the deal, Uncle."
She purposely put more pressure as she called out to him, even if it made her sick to her stomach. He stiffened after hearing this and had no idea how to argue back. He hated how right she was.
Yukimo could see the gears grinding in her uncle's head, the unsettling expression on his face as he struggled with her words. For a moment, silence lingered in the air, heavy with tension. She watched him squirm, blood boiling at the thought of his presence in her life
He stepped closer, leaning down slightly to meet her glare with his own. "Trust me, Yukimo. I can make your life very difficult if you keep acting like this."
"Make my life a living hell? You already do, Uncle," Yukimo interjected, her voice icy, "If you're done, I would like you to leave MY house."
Yukimo waved her hand toward the door and telekinetic swung the door open. After the door opened, she looked at her uncle but immediately looked back at the door when she noticed someone standing there.
'B-Bakugo?'
The way his surprised expression was written all over his face, and his standing position indicated he was about to knock on the door when she suddenly opened it.
"Come in, Bakugo," Yukimo walked up to her door and looked over her shoulder back at her uncle, "My guest was about to leave, right?"
Feeling defeated, he stormed out of her apartment, muttering curses under his breath. When Katsuki entered her apartment, Yukimo closed the door with a heavy thud, leaning against it for a moment.
"Who was t—" Katsuki stood frozen in the entrance, his mouth slightly agape as he watched her sank to the ground. He quickly moved closer to her, his frown deepening as he crouched down beside her."Are you okay? What happened?
"S-shut up for a moment." she leaned forward onto his chest and clutched his shirt.
Katsuki froze for a moment, uncertainty flickering in his eyes as he felt the weight of Yukimo's head resting against him. It was a rare vulnerability he wasn't used to seeing in the girl who always carried an air of defiance. For a heartbeat, they stayed like that—lost in the chaos of emotions that enveloped her apartment.
Usually, he would argue back or even yell at her, but he stayed quiet after noticing her hands were shaking. Yukimo hated this but was glad Katsuki had shown up out of nowhere. She wanted her uncle gone as soon as possible because she knew she couldn't hold it together for much longer. Seeing her uncle forced the old memories about her parents back into her mind.
After finally calming down, she let go of his shirt and looked up.
"Thank you, Bakugo." Yukimo murmured, finally lifting her head to meet his gaze and let go of his shirt, "I'm ok—"
"Don't give me that shit. What the hell was that? Who was that?" he demanded, "And don't you dare give me that poker face of yours or I will blow it right off your face!"
Yukimo couldn't suppress the small laugh that escaped her lips at his fiery threat. It was just like Katsuki to turn his concern into a challenge, but she knew better than to return fire when she could still feel her heart racing from the earlier encounter. Instead, she took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves—and him.
"That was... my uncle." Her voice was softer, but the weight of those words still hung heavily in the air, "but he doesn't want people to know about that, so please keep it to yourself."
Katsuki observed her for a moment, his brow furrowed as he processed the new information. He didn't know much about Yukimo's family or her past—she had always kept that part of her life carefully hidden.
"Tch, whatever," he replied, slowly getting up. Surprisingly, he pulled her along as well.
"Ah, where are my manners? Make yourself at home," she quickly announced and walked up to the kitchen. Sighing, she leaned against her kitchen counter.
'Am I even wearing something appropriate? 'she thought as she looked down at her oversized t-shirt and shorts. But then she chuckled softly to herself, knowing that Katsuki had rarely cared about such things, 'Wait, why am I even focusing on this?'
She shook her head as if shaking off the thoughts in her head. Today wasn't a very good day, and not because of her uncle's sudden visit. That made her day a lot worse, but her uncle wasn't the sole reason for being a bad day. She felt like kicking Katsuki out, but that would be rude. Besides, this was the first time he visited her home since they've known each other.
"Hey," a voice suddenly spoke behind her, jolting her from her thoughts. Katsuki had moved closer once again, leaning against the kitchen counter, arms crossed. She immediately whipped around and stared at him in shock.
"W-when did you get here?"
Katsuki smirked, folding his arms across his chest defiantly. "I've been standing here watching you stare at the ground like it's the answer to all your problems. You know, I'm starting to wonder if I should be worried about your sanity."
Yukimo rolled her eyes, a hint of a smile breaking through the tension in her furrowed brow. "I'm sane enough, thank you very much."
"You were taking your damn time!" Katsuki scoffed, and walked up to her refrigerator. He really was making himself at home. He swung it wide open and began rummaging , he pulled out a bottle of soda and held it up like it was a trophy.
"Seriously? This is all you have?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he eyed the meager selection soda cans.
"It's my home, not a five-star restaurant." she shot took out a soda and placed the plastic bag he had held in his hand since he had arrived on her kitchen counter.
When he took a sip, his gaze darted around the kitchen, analyzing every corner as if he were trying to figure her life out. It felt like he was uncovering layers she'd always kept hidden from everyone—even herself.
"Open it," he ordered as he gestured toward the plastic bag on the counter. Yukimo raised an eyebrow, a flicker of curiosity dancing in her eyes.
"What's in the bag, Bakugo?" Yukimo asked playfully, tilting her head, trying to decipher his strange behaviour. She leaned against the counter, arms crossed, mirroring his earlier , with his characteristic impatience, simply glared and pointed at the bag with a determined nod.
With an exaggerated sigh, she reached for the bag. As she squinted at the bag, she recognized it immediately. "Is this... a cupcake?"
"You know, you could have at least put it in a box, or something," she said, a teasing smile creeping onto her face as she pulled out the slightly squished cupcake from the bottom of the bag. It was rainbow frosted with sprinkles, and despite its unfortunate travels, it somehow managed to look enticing.
"Do you want me to put it in a trash bag?"
"Alright, alright, thank you for the cupcake, but why?" she looked at him, confused. There was a pause before he answered, his expression softening just a fraction..
"Happy Birthday," he said it so low, it almost seemed like he was mumbling.
"Eh?" Yukimo Yukimo's heart skipped a beat as she held the cupcake, wide-eyed. Frozen after hearing those words.
"My birthday?" she echoed, her mind racing. "But I didn't tell you! How did you even know?"
"I saw your hospital chart after the sludge incident. Explains why you always skipped class in junior high," he explained, which made no sense to her. How much and how long had he been observing her?
"Besides, everyone was normally talking about their birthdays while you avoided the topic. Why?"
Yukimo hesitated, searching for the right words as she carefully placed the cupcake back into the bag. Katsuki's words struck a chord deep within her, unraveling the tightly wound threads of her guarded heart.
"I hate my birthday. It always reminded me of my parents," she confessed. It was no use to hide it from him,
"I've always had a bad relationship with my mother for some reason, but after acquiring my quirk, it had gotten worse. On my birthday, my mother kept reminding me that she wished my day of birth had never happened. Ever since then, I've never celebrated my birthday."
Katsuki Bakugo's eyes widened as the weight of Yukimo's confession settled between them like a thick fog.
"So basically you got your stupidity gene from your mother," he muttered, the roughness of his voice softening slightly. Yukimo couldn't help but pout.
"Wow, thanks for that comforting analysis, Bakugo. Just what I needed to hear," Yukimo retorted, rolling her eyes, though a small part of her appreciated his attempt to lighten the mood.
"You're stupid for even listening to her, and what the hell was with yesterday?! Are you that stupid and weak to get knocked out like that?!"
Yukimo felt an unexpected surge of frustration bubble to the surface at his was ridiculous how he could both annoy and comfort her at the same time—this was Katsuki for you.
"Agh, shut up! I'm not weak!" she shot back defensively, crossing her arms tightly across her chest.
"I'll be the first to say this: don't be stupid and try to hide your birthday from now on." After hearing this, Yukimo looked back at him with flushed was a side of Katsuki she rarely saw, one that revealed a deeper part of him—a certain softness amidst that explosive personality.
"Happy Birthday."
Yukimo stared at the cupcake in her hand, the colorful frosting and sprinkles glistening under the kitchen lights, and then looked up at Katsuki, a mix of disbelief and warmth flooding through her. All her life, her birthday had been a haunting reminder of abandonment and hurt, but here he was, her fiery, impulsive friend, standing in her kitchen, determined to turn that narrative around.
"Why do you care?" she blurted, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's just a stupid day."
"Because it's your stupid day," he replied, his eyes locking onto hers with an intensity that made her heart race. "And if anyone deserves to celebrate, it's you. So just shut up and enjoy it."
"T-thank you," she murmured, all embarrassed, and reached one of her arms toward him. "Where is my present?"
"My present for you is me not throwing you off the balcony!" he yelled, walking out of the kitchen. Yukimo chuckled, a smile lingered on her lips as she took a bite of the cupcake, the sweet frosting melting in her mouth
Yukimo moved to the living room, still smiling at the deliciousness of the cupcake/ She suddenly froze in place when her door bell rang.
Who could that be now?" she wondered aloud, glancing back at Katsuki, who was just as confused as she was. She moved to answer the door and to her surprise a small group stood there.
"Surprise!" she heard as soon as she swung her door stood in the doorway, shocked and speechless as her gaze fell on the small group of people who had come to surprise her; Hatsumi, Izuku and his mother. Bright balloons swayed gently in the breeze, and a colorful banner hung above their heads, reading "Happy Birthday, Yukimo!" in bright, cheerful letters.
They had all come to her apartment to celebrate her birthday. At first, Yukimo glanced over at Katsuki to see if he had anything to do with this, but he shrugged his shoulders. Hatsumi confessed that she had seen Yukimo's birth date on her hospital chart and planned a surprise with Izuku and his mom.
Izuku looked all surprised and tensed after seeing Katsuki there. Katsuki, however, hadn't yelled or threatened Izuku at all. Was it because his mother was here? Or did he do it for Yukimo?
"Why didn't you tell me today is your birthday?" Izuku asked, staring at Yukimo with wide eyes that mirrored his concern. For two years, he didn't know. His mother gently nudged him, clearly sensing the tension in the air.
"Sorry, Izuku-kun, I just didn't like celebrating my birthday," Yukimo admitted.
As the group settled in, Inko, with her nurturing nature, commandeered the kitchen and began setting out the food she had prepared."Yukimo-chan," she called out gently, "You must eat something! Just look at all we made!"
"This is really nice," Yukimo said, her heart swelling as she watched the vibrant array of dishes being laid out on the table.
She could see the effort put into everything—each dish lit up with colors and smells that wrapped around her like a warm embrace. It was a stark contrast to her previous birthdays, marked by emptiness and reminders of her parents' absence.
They all ate together with laughter echoing around the room, it felt almost surreal to Yukimo. It had been ages since she'd shared a birthday with anyone—let alone surrounded by friends who genuinely cared. Even Katsuki behaved himself as long as he and Izuku were at least two feet away from each other. In his mind, she could hear him practically screaming and fighting really hard to hold back. She accepted that as her birthday present.
"Okay, who's ready for the cake?" Inko announced, pulling a beautifully decorated cake from the kitchen. The sight of it made Yukimo's eyes widen; it was a stunning chocolate creation, layered with whipped cream and adorned with fresh strawberries on top.
"Wow, Miss Inko! This looks incredible!" Yukimo exclaimed, instinctively reaching out for a slice while everyone else gathered around, excitedly discussing the flavors.
"Yukimo-chan, since it's your special day, you get to make a wish before we cut the cake!" Hatsumi encouraged, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
Yukimo hadn't realized how much she had missed out on the excitement and anticipation of a birthday ritual—a small flicker of hope ignited within her. She could feel everyone's gaze on her, the atmosphere electric with anticipation.
"Okay..." she whispered, closing her eyes didn't need to think too the candles flickered in the low light, she made her a deep breath, she blew out the candles, a mixture of excitement and nervousness dancing in her stomach. The room erupted into cheers, everyone eagerly gathered as Inko began slicing the cake.
'I love these people,' she thought, glancing around.

"I-I'm really fine," said Yukimo nervously as she raised both of her hands."I was ordered to rest up for the day as a precaution."
She had managed to come up with an excuse. She didn't expect some of her classmates to surround her desk the moment she sat down in her seat. Katsuki glanced to his side after hearing her excuse.
'Lame excuse,' he thought.
"A-are you sure?" Eijiro asked, worry spilling from his eyes as he leaned closer. Yukimo nodded a total of five times before they finally stopped asking. The rest of the day went by quickly and quietly.
During lunch, Yukimo sat together with Izuku, Ochaco, and Tenya once more. This time, Eijiro also joined the table.
"I wonder what we'll do today for hero training?" Eijiro wondered as he took a generous bite of his rice ball, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Another combat training?" Ochaco wondered aloud. Izuku flinched after hearing this.
"Izuku-kun..." Yukimo started, her usual deadly smile and tone in place, "If it really is combat training, don't break your bones. I'd hate to see your body parts breaking for a second time."
'Yukimo is scary,' they all thought at the same time and gulped.
During the conversation, Yukimo learned that Izuku announced his resignation as class president. Moved by Tenya's heroics action during the panic, Izuku nominated him as the replacement. The majority of the class agreed and Tenya became the new class president.
"I see," said Yukimo ."I do believe you are the right choice, Ida."
"Thank you," he responded, a sense of pride suffusing his voice as he adjusted his glasses.
'Yeah, as long as you don't overdo it with rules.' thought Yukimo.
As the bell rang, signaling the end of their lunch break, the group returned to the classroom, excitement buzzing in the air. Yukimo and Eijiro both exchanged contact information with each other. She was glad that Eijiro was the first person she had teamed up with. She liked his attitude.
Back in the classroom, she settled into her desk and just like everyone, eagerly waiting what kind of training today was going to be. It was time for the hero's basic training. Everyone quickly took their seats the moment Aizawa entered the classroom.
"Glad you're back, Yukimo," he said, his expression as unchanged as ever, though she fancied he might have held a trace of warmth in his gaze, "For today's hero basic training, it has turned into a class with three instructors: All Might, me, and one more person."
"Excuse me! What'll we be doing?" Hanta asked as he raised his hand.
"Be the hero everyone needs, whether it's a flood or any other disaster," Aizawa began, pulling out a card that had writing across the front of it, "It's the trial of rescue."
The class spoke together excitedly, though Yukimo and a few others stayed quiet. Rescue was definitely going to be different from their combat training.
"Hey, I'm not done," said Aizawa, and in an instant, everyone went quiet,
"As I was saying, this time, it's entirely up to each of you whether or not you wear your costume." He clicked a button, and once more the panels showed a suitcase with their hero costumes.
"The training area is fairly far away, so we'll go there by bus. That's all. Go get prepared," he finished and started to head for the door. Before leaving, Aizawa glanced over at Yukimo and wondered if she'd be up for it. She seemed to be back to normal after what had happened. Maybe resting for a whole day had helped, but he still needed to keep an extra eye on her to see how she'll perform.
As soon as he left, all the students went to grab their suitcases and headed for the changing hurried to the changing room, her heart pounding in anticipation as she grabbed her hero idea of rescue training had her buzzing; what kind of training was waiting for her?
Once she was dressed, Yukimo stepped in front of the mirror, adjusting her hair and staring at her reflection. She looked fierce and determined—she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead today.
As she made her way out of the changing room, she noticed the cheerful buzz emanating from her classmates. They were all dressed in their own unique hero attire, anxiously chatting about what the day might hold.
"Hey, Yuki-chan" Ochaco called out as she approached, "I couldn't help but wonder...why are you wearing an eye patch? Without your costume, you always cover your right eye with you bangs. Do you have bad eyesight?"
"Oh, uhm, this," Yukimo touched her eye patch and wondered what to do.
"Ah, Izuku-kun! How come you're wearing your P.E. clothes?" Yukimo had managed to change the subject and approached Izuku, with Ochaco following her.
"Ah, it got ripped up during combat training," he answered. "I'm waiting for the support company to fix it."
Yukimo glanced around and noticed Katsuki on her left. He was wearing only one of his gauntlets today. If she remembered correctly, he used the other one for an extremely dangerous move. Did it break because of that big move?
Katsuki caught her look, and she immediately avoided his gaze, pretending to focus on the rest of the group. Just then, she noticed Minoru on her right, staring at Ochaco with a disgusting smile.
"Mineta," Yukimo called out his name. Minoru flinched after hearing Yukimo use the same tone she had used before she buried him under rubble. "I'm not using it right now, but you better not be thinking what I think you are."
Minoru shook his head violently before running away in fear toward the bus.
"In order to get everyone seated smoothly on the bus, file into two lines according to your numbers!" Tenya announced while using a whistle.
'So annoying,' thought Yukimo. In the end, Tenya's way of getting everyone seated on the bus failed. His layout was completely different from the actual layout of the bus.
Somehow, Yukimo ended up sitting next to Katsuki. Eijiro was sitting in front of her along with Tsuyu, Izuku, and Rikido. And sitting on the opposite of them were; Denki, Mina, Yuga, and Tenya, who was complaining about his failed plan.
Yukimo chuckled in amusement in her seat as she watched Izuku and Tsuyu have a conversation. She was glad to see Izuku fitting in among their classmates.
They were busy discussing each other's quirks. Tsuyu noted that Izuku's quirk was similar to All Might's. Izuku jerked back while Yukimo's eyes twitched slightly. He tried to explain nervously how he wasn't like All Might, but luckily, Eijiro cut in and protested Tsuyu's claim that, unlike Izuku, All Might doesn't hurt himself.
"I'm kinda jealous of that kind of simple enhancer-type quirk. You can do lots of flashy stuff!" Eijiro continued as he raised one of his hands and started to demonstrate his hardening quirk, "My hardening's strong against others, but I hate that it's just not that flashy."
"I think it's really cool," Izuku replied.
"I think so too," Yukimo joined in on the conversation. "Thanks to you, we've won the combat trial."
"No way! You came up with the plan!" he protested. "Besides, your psychic quirk is amazing!"
"Psychic quirk?" Tsuyu, along with almost everyone, looked confused. "Don't you mean telekinesis?"
"Uhm, actually, it is psychic. Telekinesis is one of the variants of my quirk," she explained. Yukimo understood why they might confuse her quirk with telekinesis; she could hear her classmates murmuring about how amazing her quirk was.
"Yeah! It's pretty awesome! She can also use telepathy!" Eijiro exclaimed excitedly.
"Wait, really?!" Hanta sounded surprised.
"Then, when you buried Mineta under the rubble?" Denki asked, looking at Minoru, who flinched after hearing his name.
"Ah, you mean that pervert guy?" Yukimo looked over her shoulder at the short guy, who immediately sunk into his seat. "Let's just say that we girls have to be careful around him, and he knows that if he wants to live, he better be careful with what he's thinking."
'Yukimo is scary,' thought almost all the boys, deciding it would be best not to think about anything that could endanger their lives.
"That's so cool!" Mina exclaimed. "Why didn't you tell us?"
"Uhm, it's not something I like to brag about. Besides, most people would keep their guard up when they hear I'm telepathic," Yukimo answered, letting out an awkward laugh. "I don't like to pry into people's minds, so I hardly ever use my telepathy. I mean, right now, most of you guys are thinking about being careful with what you think around me, aren't you?"
The way her classmates shifted in their seats, glancing at each other with sidelong looks, made it apparent that she guessed right. They immediately apologized for it.
Yukimo didn't use her telepathy to know what they were up to; it was just natural for them to react that way. That seemed normal for her, but she couldn't help but feel a sting in her heart. She was hurt but didn't let it show. It would only trouble them more, so she decided it would be best to just wear her straight face.
"Don't mind them, Yuki-chan!" Mina was trying to cheer her up. "I feel much safer now that I know about your telepathy! I'm sure you can protect us from these perverts!"
Chaos erupted on the bus as the boys tried to come up with an excuse for Mina's claim. Yukimo couldn't help but smile at the scene unfolding before her. The stinging feeling in her heart had disappeared just like that.
Eijiro continued talking about how Katsuki's and Shoto's quirks were perfect for becoming Pro Heroes. Tsuyu, however, interjected, saying that Katsuki was too angry to become popular, which irritated him.
"You bitch!" he yelled as he leaned over the bar in front of his seat. "I'll be popular too!"
Yukimo, who sat next to Katsuki, leaned away and sighed. Surprisingly, Denki even followed up and told him that his personality needed some work. No one was afraid of his threats or outbursts. Even Izuku noticed that the tables had turned since they had started this year. Katsuki was now the one being teased by the class.
'That's U.A. for you,' Yukimo thought mentally toward Izuku.
'F-For real,' he replied.
"We're almost there," Aizawa announced."Settle down."
"Yes, sir!" everyone yelled, quieting down almost immediately. Katsuki stared out the window, still pissed off at what had happened.
"You better not lose your damn headphones this time," he mumbled loud enough for Yukimo to hear.
"I won't," she answered with a smile. With that, they stayed quiet for the remainder of the trip.

Once they arrived, all students disembarked the bus, eyes widened as they took in the big building ahead.
"Hello, everyone!" the teacher greeted the students, "I've been waiting for you."
"It's Space Hero: Thirteen!" Izuku announced excitedly. "He's the gentlemanly hero who does phenomenal work helping with disaster relief!"
"Wow!" Ochaco jumped up. "I love Thirteen!"
'First Izuku being all fanboy-ish, and now Ochaco, huh?' sighed Yukimo as she watched them admire Thirteen.
"Let's go inside without delay," Thirteen said and signalled them toward the entrance.
As the students followed Thirteen through the entrance, the vast training area opened up before them. It was a massive space filled with various disaster zones, such as the ruins zone, landslide zone, mountain zone, conflagration zone, flood zone, and downpour zone, all designed to simulate different rescue scenarios. It was clear that this was not just any ordinary exercise; this was a chance to test their skills under pressure. The building was called the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or USJ for short.
'Wow...' thought Yukimo.' And Thirteen-sensei created all these...'
While Yukimo glanced around the area, Thirteen gave a small speech about how all quirks could be used to harm someone, just like his own quirk. It could be used to remove wreckage and save people from injuries, but it could also be used to easily kill. The purpose of today's trial was to learn how to use their quirks to save people rather than fight.
'Save people... can I really do that?' thought Yukimo worriedly.
"Hey!" Katsuki elbowed her waist. "Don't go thinking about something stupid!"
Yukimo shook her head, snapping out of her thoughts as she glared at Katsuki.
"I feel like I should start using that line, Bakugo," Yukimo replied with a slight chuckle, "Stay out of my head."
"Tch! Whatever!" he yelled, looking away.
'Thank you, Katsuki,' she accidentally said mentally toward him. He immediately looked back at her, eyes wide.
"What's wrong?"she asked him, looking confused. Seeing her confusion, he chose not to respond.
'Stupid...'she heard him think as he looked away. Now she was more confused than ever.
'What the hell?'
Yukimo looked ahead and noticed Aizawa talking to Thirteen. She was distracted by her own thoughts and the conversation with Katsuki and had not listened to all of Thirteen's speech.
'Well, we took precautions just in case...' Yukimo accidentally heard Aizawa's thoughts. She was so focused on Thirteen and Aizawa that she had inadvertently listened to his mind.
'Huh? Wait... precautions? For what?'
"All right, first thing's first..." Aizawa began, looking at the students. Suddenly, the lights went out around the USJ, leaving everyone looking up in confusion. Aizawa quickly turned his head to see a black portal opening and dozens of villains coming through it.
"Huddle together and don't move!" he suddenly yelled, taking a fighting stance. "Thirteen, protect the students!"
Confused by what was happening, the students looked ahead and noticed the black hole.
"What is that?" Eijiro wondered. "Is this like that training pattern at the entrance exam?"
"Don't move!" Aizawa yelled again. "Those are villains!"
Hearing those words sent shivers down all the students' spines. Never in a million years did they expect to see villains showing up like this.
"What? No way!" Eijiro yelled. "What kind of numbskull could think that villains would be able to waltz into a hero school?!"
"Sensei, what about the trespasser sensors?!" Momo asked worriedly.
"Of course we have some set up!" Thirteen answered, "but..."
"Did they only appear here, or around the whole school?" Shoto asked.
"If the sensors aren't responding, then that just means they have someone among their numbers with a quirk that cancel that." Yukimo joined Shoto's observation, and he continued while making eye contact with her,
"An isolated space away from the school building, at a time when there's a class scheduled," Shoto then looked down at where the dozens of villains were standing, "They might be fools, but they're not dumb. This surprise attack was carefully planned with some sort of goal in mind."
"Thirteen, start the eva—" Before Aizawa could command the order, Yukimo ran up to him and grabbed his shoulder, surprising everyone, including him.
"Yukimo, what are—"
'I'm sorry, sensei! This is the only way. Normally, I can just share my telepathy, but it takes too much concentration with little time! Physical contact is the only way!' Yukimo explained to him mentally. He flinched upon hearing her in his head. He only knew she had a psychic quirk, and after seeing her entrance exam, all the teachers had assumed she only had telekinesis. Before he could question her actions, he noticed she focused on the villains.
Yukimo noticed that out of everyone, only three people hadn't moved from their spot, and figured one of them must be the boss. She saw that the one in the middle had grayish-blue hair with many hands attached to different parts of his body. Normally, the mastermind stood in the middle for some reason, so she thought she could try him first.
'God, I watch too much anime...' she thought to herself and quickly refocused on what she was supposed to do.
'Where is he?' Yukimo and Aizawa both flinched at the sudden voice in their heads. Yukimo was somewhat relieved she had managed to reach his mind. However, this sudden influx of her telepathy might hit her back soon.
'We went through a lot of trouble to bring so many of us... you can't tell me All Might... The Symbol of Peace... isn't here.'
Seeing she had managed to maintain a connection with this person, while listening to his thoughts, Yukimo trailed her eyes toward the person to his right. However, a cold shiver ran down her spine as she met the gaze of the man on the left.
'I wonder if he'll show up if we kill the k—'
Aizawa immediately turned and stood in front of Yukimo, blocking her view of the villains, and used his quirk to erase her telepathy. All the students looked confused about what was happening between the two of them.
'Yuki-chan?' Izuku thought, his heart racing as the tension in the air thickened. What was happening? He could sense panic among his classmates.
"S-sensei, even if you stopped midway, I can still guess what he was just thinking," Yukimo spoke. Aizawa noticed she looked completely pale and was trembling tremendously.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that," he apologized.
"T-that's not it... t-that purple mist guy," she stuttered, pointing past Aizawa. "I-I feel... no! H-his glowing yellow eyes. I-I feel like I have seen them b-before."
Her breath quickened, anxiety creeping in as vivid memories threatened to invade her thoughts. After hearing this, Aizawa glanced over his shoulder to see who she was talking about. That guy was a villain; if Yukimo had seen him somewhere before, it only meant bad news.
"Bakugo, take Yukimo with you," Aizawa demanded. Katsuki quickly moved to the front to do as he was told, with Izuku following him.
"Hey! Yuki?" Katsuki called out her name, concern lacing his voice as he ran to her side. Noticing she her trembling as soon as he got closer and grabbed her hands.
At first, Yukimo didn't even fully register Katsuki's words, her gaze pinned on the villains. There were those eyes. Those yellow eyes. Her heart raced she was trying to remember where she had seen them. Nothing was coming through her mind, only familiar fear.
"Yuki-chan..." Izuku called out to her, standing beside her, but there was no response.
"Yuki!" Katsuki's voice broke through, grounding her. As he took hold of her hands, the warmth of his grip wrapped around her trembling fingers, drawing her back to the present.
"Thirteen, start the evacuation!" Aizawa continued, "Don't lose sight of Yukimo at all costs!"
Before leaving, Izuku was concerned about Aizawa fighting against the villains, but Aizawa reassured him and leaped into battle.
All the students tried to evacuate the building, but using his warping quirk, the black mist blocked their path. He introduced himself, Kurogiri, a member of the League of Villains and disclosed that their goal was to kill All Might.
Yukimo flinched when she saw him standing before them. Katsuki noticed this and saw how frightened she was. This was the first time he had seen her like this, and it made him pretty angry.
Before Thirteen could make a move to protect the students, Katsuki let go of Yukimo and, along with Eijiro, tried to hastily attack Kurogiri.
"Stop it! Bakugo! Kirishima-kun! It won't work!" Yukimo managed to scream, but it was no use. Kurogiri countered by using his quirk to separate the class into different simulation zones.
"Yuki-chan!" Izuku yelled and tried to reach for her, but they had gotten separated inside the mist.
'Shit!' Katsuki cursed as he noticed he was too far from her and tried to reach for her, but he too had failed.
