(Liam P.O.V)

The last thing I saw before I was knocked unconscious was the sight of Lexie's terrified face, crying out for me. Her emerald green eyes looked into my hazel ones, I think that was the first time I had ever seen her truly afraid.

"Oy..my back…" I groaned as I sat up and rubbed my head and back.

I rubbed my eyes and looked around…it was nothing but sky and clouds. Was I in…? As I looked more closely at my surroundings, I found myself in a large wooded area, surrounded by numerous trees, bushes, and multiple dirt paths.

"Okay, clearly I'm not dead..." I sighed in relief. But then came the next question; where was I?

I looked down and realized…I was NOT normal. On a hunch, I spotted a nearby lake and looked down at my reflection. Everything, from my auburn hair and hazel eyes to the green flannel shirt with grey T-shirt and Triforce pin I was wearing to my jeans and black tennis shoes was all a cartoon. My body was animated, like out of a manga.

I was pretty shocked, still trying to wrap my mind around this whole thing. "Ok, ok, let's think…we went to the hotel, I grabbed a shower, and then Lex called me to her room to see the book Kate brought. We opened it up and…the Devil from Cuphead pulled us in? That can't be right." I thought.

Besides my appearance changing, I realized that I was totally alone, no sign of the girls or Matt.

Oh shoot!

"MATT!" I shouted, scrambling to my feet, frantically looking around in all directions. "Oh crud oh crud! Where is he? MATT! MATT!" I shouted, cupping my hands near my mouth, hoping to send my shouting farther.

My heart began to pound and my mind spun. Where was he? He surely didn't go far! He was either with one of the girls or totally alone! I prayed it was the first one.

I ran faster, now in a panic. "MATTHEW JONES! ANSWER ME MATE!"

I began having horrible thoughts come to my mind. What if he was hurt!? What if someone took him!?What if he was stuck in a ditch?! What if…no! Not thinking that. He was a smart kid and one thing that I taught him is if he was ever separated from me, he would stay put in that spot until I came for him.

"Lee?!" I heard a familiar voice.

I looked and saw…Matt. He was okay! And sitting near a pile of small flowers.

Much like me, he was also animated, but I can recognize his brown hair and green eyes anywhere. And he still has the red vest with the Poke Ball pin on it over the gray shirt, khaki shorts, white socks and black tennis shoes.

Bolting over, I ran to him, scooped him in my arms and held him tight.

"Matt! Oh, thank God you're ok. Oh boy," I sighed with relief as I held him. I placed him down and quickly scanned him for any injuries.

"You hurt, bro? Nothing broken?" I asked, my voice shaking a bit.

"Nah Lee, I ain't hurt," He replied with a smile. He's such an innocent little angel. "I was looking around. I saw a bunny around here and it led me to those flowers."

I took a breath. Ok, he's fine and so far, no one or nothing tried to hurt him. Ok, I can breathe again. "Well, I'm glad you're safe, mate. And I'm very proud that you stayed in one spot and waited for me. Good job. Seriously." I told him.

He suddenly lunged toward me in a tight hug, I could tell he was scared for me.

"Are you okay, Lee?"

"Yeah, I'm good, bro. I was a bit startled, especially since there's no sign of the girls," I replied. "Hope they're ok."

Matt looked up at me with a sad look on his face. His green eyes looked like evergreens, different from Lex's emeralds. Speaking of Lex…where was she?

WHOOSH!*

We were startled by an incoming burst of wind followed by a dark shadow. I looked up…and was it…a blimp?

I mean, it looked like one from afar, but it went rather fast than how normal blimps fly. Maybe the crash did a number on my head….

"Whoa!" I heard Matt exclaim. "Where did that come from?!"

"I have no clue. Now the next question was, where was it going?" I know following strange objects isn't a good idea, but if I was gonna find Lex and the others, I need to get some answers. And that might be a good starting point.

"Come on, Matt. Let's go see if we can find someone who can help us." I stated, taking his hand and started walking.

We ran as we followed the strange blimp. Man, was it a workout, more than the track I ran in college with Josh and Steve. But eventually, we made it to what appeared to be…an observatory?

I swear, I thought I saw Matt's eyes twinkle at the sight of it. He's currently in the fourth grade in his school, and he always loved science, especially astronomy.

"Wow! A real observatory!" Matt exclaimed. "Can we check it out, bro?! Please?!"

I was hesitant at first, especially since we're very new here, but at the same time, nothing bad has happened so, what's the worse that can happen?

"Alright, we can check it out," I replied. "But we should be careful since this probably belongs to someone. We don't wanna mess anything up. Sound fair?"

"Okay!" Matt chirped, a big smile on his face.

We walked up to the observatory and knocked on the door. Surprisingly, no response. I pulled on the handle, thinking it was locked, but it creaked open. We poked our heads in and gazed in the room. It was an average size room with a bed, a desk and chair, tons of scattered papers, a bookshelf, and a large telescope.

"That's a cool telescope…" Matt mused. "I wonder if we can see Earth from there?"

"I'm not sure, but it wouldn't hurt to look through," I replied. We walked in and I helped Matt to the lenses of the telescope so he could look through. "See anything?" I asked.

"I see some other planets..but not Earth yet…"

I took a sad sigh. It would have been nice to see Earth, but I guess not. I decided to let Matt gaze at the starry sky for a bit, considering he was going a mile a minute talking about the stars, planets and wondering if Mario was hopping around different planets. Someone has been playing too much Super Mario Galaxy again…

I guess we were too distracted because the sound of a voice made me jump.

"Hey…I wasn't expecting visitors!"

Matt and I looked and saw…

"Hilda Berg?"

There she was, standing there near the door. Hilda Berg. Man, this was both crazy and cool to meet her in person! I felt like one of those kids at Disney that gets to see their favorite Princess or character in real life.

I placed Matt down in front of me and managed to get out a few words.

"Erm, hi, uh, I-I like your telescope. Also, I hope you're not mad. My-my brother is a huge fan of space so-so he wanted to, ya know, look through it, and uh, oh gosh my heart's pounding…"

"Whoa whoa! Take it easy!" Hilda exclaimed. "I was sitting here thinking you were a burglar…or worse. One of those…imps."

"I-imps?" I choked out.

Hilda sighed and nodded. "Ever since the Devil has been defeated, it's been pretty easygoing. But there have been reports of imps sneakin' around, no one knows why."

That made me so nervous…what if the imps were…looking for us and the girls?

She suddenly perked up and gave a smile to Matt.

"The name's Hilda Berg." She introduced herself. "What's your name, squirt?"

"Um, m-my name's Matt, Miss Hilda." Matt stammered, either in excitement or shyness, I really couldn't tell. "And this is my big brother, Liam."

"Hi, nice to meet ya, Hilda." I smiled, giving a friendly wave.

Hilda took my hand and shook it with a friendly smile. "Nice to meet ya, Liam. And you too, Matt. Say, you don't look like you're from around here. Ya new?"

"Yeah, you could say that." I replied, rubbing the back of my head. "We're looking for a few other friends of ours and we were kinda hoping if you've seen anyone else? Three other human girls to be precise?"

Hilda appeared to be in thought as she remembered, "Y'know, I did see a human just like ya. She was blonde, and wore a black hat and a red shirt. She was with the Cup Brothers last I saw. Could she be one of 'em?"

"Yes! That's Lexie, my girlfriend! Oh, thank God, she's safe!" I gasped. "Did you see where they were heading towards?"

"It looked like they were heading for Cagney's. If she's your girlfriend, I'm assuming she must be lookin' for ya. I can help ya find her if you want?"

"That would be great! Thanks, Hilda! I owe ya one." I beamed. "You have no idea how much this helps."

"Don't worry 'bout it, Lee." Hilda replied. "I'm always glad to lend a hand."

We followed her, climbing up the ladder toward the balcony. She then smiled toward Matt; I guess she has a thing for kids.

"Wanna see something cool?"

Matt nodded in excitement, "Uh huh!"

Hilda took a very deep breath and began puffing herself up like a balloon. Then she flew to the side, revealing a constellation of some sort, and then flew back. With a big puff of cloud dust, she transformed herself into her bull form with stars in her eyes (literally), white horns and a gold nose ring.

I then remembered; this was her Taurus form, which allowed her to transform into a bull and charge at the players in the game. Thankfully, she wasn't going to do that. Matt's eyes, though, were wide and filled with awe, like he just saw the biggest chocolate cake in the display window at the bakery.

"WHOA! SO COOL!" Matt beamed. "Is that Tarurus?!"

"Yep. Nice memory, Matt." I smiled, ruffling his hair.

"Yep, Taurus, the constellation for April and May." Hilda smiled. "Now hop on and hang on tight! It's gonna be pretty bumpy!"

We got on, and boy, bumpy it was. As Hilda ran throughout the sky, I could feel myself jumping up and down just from sitting on her. It reminded me of the one date I had with Lex visiting Texas at the Fort Worth Stockyards, riding the mechanical bull. I did NOT last long…uh oh.

But, at least Matt was having the time of his life, sitting in front of me and getting a great view of the stars, like he didn't have a care in the world.

"WHEEE!"

I smiled. It's always so nice to see Matt so happy. It kinda makes our current situation seem less terrifying.

Despite being in a new location and not having a clue where the others are, I had a good feeling about this and the sooner we find the others, the sooner we can get home and away from any danger.

It felt like an eternity before we eventually landed by a patch of woods and flowers. This must be Cagney Carnation's territory.

"Well, here we are." Hilda announced. "Cagney's turf. Let's see if he knows where your girlfriend went."

I helped Matt off Hilda's back as she de-transformed, turning back into her normal self. We walked through the wooded pathways, it wasn't long til we saw…

"Hiya, Cagney!" Hilda waved. "How ya doin'?"

"Well, if it ain't Hilda Berg. Good to see ya!" The flower replied. "I've been doing well, tending to the flowers and enjoying the sight of the forest. Oh, and who are those two?"

"Hi, I'm Liam, and this is Matt, my little brother." I replied, noticing that Matt was hiding behind my legs. I mean, sure he loved seeing me and Lex play Cuphead but during the battle with Cageny, his final phase was a bit, scary to say the least.

"Whoops. Looks like the little fella's shy." Cagney smiled. "Don't worry, kid. I ain't gonna bite or anything."

Hearing the friendliness in his tone, Matt started to peek out from behind my legs while shyly waving to Cagney.

"H-Hello…"

"Matt, it's ok, he's not gonna hurt ya." I assured him, patting his back gently.

Matt looked at me, and then at Cagney…and seemed to stop tensing after a bit.

"Nice to meet you too."

"And to you as well. Now, Hilda, what can I do for ya?" Cagney asked.

"These two are humans, I reckon from another world." Hilda explained. "They said they came here with three other humans, one of 'em a blonde. Have you seen her, by chance?"

Cagney pondered over for a second and replied

"I'm sorry I don't think I saw them come this way. I think they took a different path. When I saw them, I wanted to ask who their friend was but by then, they were gone."

"Oh, that's ok." I sadly replied. "It's just, the blonde human girl, she's my girlfriend and I wanna make sure she and her other friends are ok."

"I get that. But she was with the Cup boys, so I wouldn't be too worried about it." Cagney replied.

I nodded. Sure, Lexie was tough, but who knew what was out there? Especially after what Hilda said about…imp demons lurking around.

"Did ya see where the Cup Brothers went, Cags?" Hilda asked.

"I think I saw them go towards the bridge, near the pathway where the old Die House used to be." Cagney answered. "I think they might be going to the second Isle."

I smiled gratefully as I gently shook Cagney's petal, "Thanks so much, Cagney! You have no idea how much I owe ya!"

"No problem. Though, if you want to thank me, give your girlfriend these." He then handed me a bouquet of lilies. "They get the ladies every time."

I smiled while taking the bouquet as I replied, "I'll hand 'em to her as soon as I see her. She'll love these!"

"Like I said, they get the ladies every single time. Trust me." Cagney smiled.

Matt and I waved goodbye to Cagney as we got back onto Hilda's bull form and flew off. Man…I hope Lexie and the others are okay.
