After saving Cassandra from those Cannibal freaks in Philadelphia, everyone is tired. 10k and Cassandra are in the back of the black truck they've been traveling in. They've all stopped for the night to get some rest.

10k is staring out into the grassy, empty field, keeping watch. Cassandra is beside him, lying down and sleeping. He's glad that they got her out of that horrible place. 10k flinches slightly when she flinches awake, pointing her knife around. "Hey, Cassandra. It's—safe," 10k says softly. She points the knife at him with wide eyes. He puts his hands up in defense so she doesn't attack him. She realizes it is just him and puts the knife down. "Sorry, nightmare," she whispers, rubbing her head. She was lying on her arm. 'Must've been uncomfortable,' 10k thinks. "Would you mind deep if I laid my head down on your lap? My arm hurts," Cassandra softly asks, furrowing her brow. 10k nods, a little unsure of himself. "Thank you," she says before laying her head on his lap. Her head is warm, and her hair is splayed out everywhere. 10k still had his arms lifted up, not knowing where to put them when she suddenly did this. She closes her eyes, thanking him softly once more. 10k's heart is racing in his chest. He's never really talked to girls before. When he was in school, he didn't have many friends, and the friends he did have weren't girls. So, this is entirely new territory for him. He slowly lowers his arms and places one on the truck while the other one rests behind her.

His mind wanders around instead of paying attention to his surroundings. 'Why would she ask me? It's not like she's known me for long... Does she trust me that much? Does she like me? That's stupid... Of course, she doesn't. Why would she? She's amazing and strong, and I'm... I don't know. I should be paying attention to the zombies. If there is any... Nope,' he thinks, turning his gaze back to the dark open field—still nothing.

About an hour later, she shifts in her sleep, tossing over to her other side. Her face is now facing his stomach. His heartbeat picks up again. His face feels a bit warm... 'She is really pretty... She looks a lot more peaceful when she's sleeping. When she's awake, she looks... sad,' he thinks, absent mindlessly reaching up a hand to brush the hair from her sleeping face. When he does this, he yanks his hand back quickly as if he just touched something. 'Idiot! Don't do that. What if she wakes up and tries to kill you,' he thinks as his heart spikes in fear.

He waits.

She doesn't wake up; she stirs a little.

He lets out a silent breath of relief. 'Okay. Don't do that again. Pay attention to something else and not the pretty girl sleeping on your lap,' he thinks, gulping down his spit nervously. His palms are getting sweaty as he desperately tries not to think about the weight on his thighs. She head. She's facing him— He slightly shakes his head away from that thought. 'Yeah, she is facing my crotch, but don't think about that,' he thinks, feeling a bit heated. 10k puts his right hand over his mouth. His face is burning up. He must look like a fool right now.

It's dusk; the sun is beginning to come up. Oranges color the once-dark sky. 10k looks down at Cassandra with sleepy eyes. He stayed up all night. He was supposed to switch shifts with her, but he wanted her to get some sleep. She hasn't been sleeping well. 10k stretches a little, causing Cassandra to stir in her sleep. She lets out a soft groan before stretching herself and sitting up. "I'm sorry," he softly mumbles. "I didn't mean to wake you up." She rubs her eyes and turns to look at him with a dopey look on her face. "Why didn't you wake me up?" she softly mumbles. He shrugs. "You had a nightmare... Wanted to let you sleep—" He yawns at the end, cutting himself off. Cassandra smiles at him. She leans on and kisses him on the cheek.

"Thank you, but next time, just wake me up. You should get some sleep, too," she says, patting her lap. He smiles at her and lays his head down. She moves some hair out of his face. "I don't mind you moving hair out of my face. It's you. I know you wouldn't hurt me," she softly says with a grin. 10k blushes and covers his eyes with a black bandanna. 'She was awake?' He thinks, feeling embarrassed.
