"How are we supposed to find the cleansing runes in the crowds of people?!" Naririo asked angrily.
"Will just have to find them…" Yasuha responded. "Split up and meet back in the middle of the town at nightfall, or if we find the runes, whichever comes first."
"Got it."
The two went their separate ways. Naririo walked through the crowds of people watching the duels. Hearing some commotion, he ran toward it.
"He cheated!" A player yelled.
"You lost, hand over the locator card and your pathetic prized card."
"This is a tournament, kid. If you're not going to play fair, get out." Someone said in the crowd.
"He cheated, his monsters gained a boost of attack and defense out of nowhere."
Naririo pushed through the crowd when he heard that, standing in the middle stood a big man with giant muscles, he wore blue jeans with a white tank top that barely fit. Hanging from his neck was an amulet of a scale with a shield hanging on one side, and a sword hanging on the other.
The man snatched the cards from the whining opponent. "Give me those back, you cheated!"
"Back off kid!" He pushed him on the ground. The kid started crying as he rolled on the ground holding his back.
"Hey!" Naririo yelled, catching everyone's attention including the duelist. "You're two hundred plus pounds, probably half of that is because of steroids. That kid probably barely weighs one hundred and twenty pounds, and you think it is a good idea to push him on the ground!" He screamed furiously at the guy. "You just hurt him! And you morons…" he pointed toward the crowd. "Cheer him on!"
The crowd looked at each other before looking at the kid, who was still holding his back.
"You think picking on smaller people makes you a big man, a strong man, Huh?"
"You are so pathetic…" the man chuckled. "This man thinks he can beat me?"
"You scared?" Naririo asked, interrupting him. "You lose and go straight to name calling. You think that is what a real man does?"
The man huffed in amusement and shook his head. "I'm out of here."
"Now that the crowd isn't boosting your ego, you're going to run away." He chuckled looking at the crowd.
The man growled and clinched his fists. Walking toward Naririo he grabbed him by the collar. "What did you say?"
"Only a loser goes to fight mode once they lost… I should now, I am one."
The man growled and threw him, falling on the ground. "Fine! I'll take another pathetic card."
Naririo groaned as he stood up. "No, Firstly, if I win, I take the amulet."
"Over my dead body!" He growled.
"Second, you will give the kid back his cards."
"Thirdly, you will give me your ace card… if it is a fusion or ritual monster, you will give me the fusion material or ritual material, does that sound fair?" He asked the crowd.
The crowd looked at each other before at the two duelists. "Yeah."
"Good?" Naririo smiled at the opponent.
"Fine!" He growled.
"Duel!" The two said in unison. Raising their arms their dueling disks formed together, and two projectiles shot out from the sides landing on the ground next to them.
"My turn!" Naririo said. "I place a card face down on the field before playing a card in face down defense position and end my turn." Placing the cards on the dueling disks caused the cards to be projected on the field through holographic projection.
The man scoffed. "Is that it!" He laughed out loud. "You're pathetic! I summon Invader of the throne and attack your defense position and end my turn. This is going to be another easy fight."
Naririo smiled and drew a card. "I summon frontier wiseman in attack position and attack your invader."
The man growled as his monster was destroyed.
"You can never be cocky in this game. I end my turn." Naririo said.
"Huh… I draw! Haha! I play Girochin Kuwagata in attack position, Girochin kill his monster!" Girochin jumped forward and sliced his monster in half with its pincers. "I end my turn!"
"I draw! I play my second Frontier Wiseman in attack position; I activate Mask of brutality which gives my wiseman one thousand attack, bringing him up to 2600. Wiseman attack his insect!"
"Useless monster anyways!" The man growled throwing it into his graveyard.
"I dra…"
"I never said I end!" Naririo interrupted. "You need to learn respect for the game!" He pointed at him. "If you have no respect for the game, how are you supposed to play?"
"Shut your mouth before I shut it for you!"
"I get people get angry during the games… but you need to grow up! I end my turn!"
"You're going to pay for that! I draw!" I set a card on the field, I then play karate man in attack position and end my turn!"
"I draw… I send Mask of brutality to the graveyard. I activate Time Seal, which forces you to skip your next draw phase."
"What!"
"I then play Twin-headed Wolf in attack position! Twin-headed wolf attack his karate man!"
"Haha! I activate magic cylinder!"
Naririo gasped when his twin-headed dog attacked him, launching backwards and landing hard on the ground. Wincing in pain he stood up as the man laughed. Looking at his life points he read 2400.
Limping back in the duel he pointed at the duelist. "Frontier, attack his karate man!"
The man threw his karate man in the graveyard. "I dr…" Chains wrapped around his deck preventing him from drawing. Growling, he threw a card on his disk. "I activate Premature burial, by paying 800 life points I can special summon any monster from my graveyard, I choose Girochin Kuwagata! Girochin, attack his wiseman!"
Girochin jumped forward and sliced him in half. "I end my turn!"
"I draw! I place a card face down and end my turn!"
"I draw!"
"I activate drop off!"
"What!"
"Send the card you just drew to your graveyard!"
"Your pathetic cards won't save you!" He growled. Girochin attack his dog!"
Girochin jumped forward slicing the dog in half. "I end my turn!"
"I draw…" He growled, looking at his hand."I have nothing that I can defend myself!"He told himself."I end." He said aloud.
"Haha!" The man laughed drawing a card. "I play marauding captain in attack position.
Yasuha hearing commotion went to check it out. He saw Naririo and heard him screaming at the duelist and player. Watching his duel and his ultimate loss.
"I'm on a winning streak!" The man laughed. "Anymore pathetic players want to duel?"
"I will!" Yasuha raised his hand.
Naririo looked at him in confusion. "There are no such thing as pathetic duelists, or cards." Yasuha said, walking toward the middle.
"This pathetic duelist already gave me a lecture and then lost like the loser he is!"
Yasuha sighed and shook his head. "Are we going to duel or talk?"
"Your funeral!"
"Sorry, Yasuha." Naririo said.
"Don't worry about it." He patted him on the shoulder.
"No… I let Tsushima down, and I let you down. I'm sorry."
"Are you going to kiss or are we going to duel?" The opponent asked.
Yasuha sighed and looked at the duelist. "Your wish!" He glared at the duelist.
The man laughed. "Duel!" The two said in unison.
"I play invader of the throne. I then place two cards face down and end my turn."
"My turn… I play X-Head cannon in attack position, and two cards face down. I end my turn."
"I draw, I activate snatch steal, I take control of your X-Head cannon. I then tribute X-Head cannon, and Invader of the throne to summon sword hunter in attack position! I then activate rush recklessly, boosting his attack by seven hundred. Sword Hunter attack him directly!"
Yasuha screamed as he was hit with the attack, which sent him flying in the air and landing on his back.
"You're just another pathetic loser!" The man laughed.
Yasuha groaned as he stood up, walking back into the duel he drew a card. "I activate Jar of Greed, which allows me to draw one more card. I then activate silent doom, which allows me to bring back X-Head Cannon in face up defense position. I then tribute summon Thunder Dragon in attack position."
"You must have hit your head, that card only has 1600 attack, my monster has 2450."
"Are you going to shut up and let me play or are you going to keep on talking!?"
"Gah! Nobody talks to me like that!"
"Let me make a play!"
"Yeah!" The crowd shouted at his opponent.
"Let him play you annoying…"
"Hey!" Yasuha shouted. "Shut up!" He looked at the crowd. "Shut… up! Thank you."
"I activate, Metalmorph… by equipping it to my Thunder Dragon it gains 300 points… Ah!" He interrupted his opponent before he could speak. "I then attack your sword hunter, when that happens my dragon will gain half of sword hunters attack. 1600 300 1200 = 3,100"
"What!"
"You lose 650 life points." Yasuha said. "Your monster also gets destroyed… do you understand that? Nod yes or no!"
"Wh…"
"Are you…" He groaned out loudly. "Say yes or no!"
"Yes!" The opponent shouted.
"Thank you! Was that so hard!? I end my turn!"
"I draw!" The man gritted his teeth. "I play Crimson Sentry in attack position!"
"Watch out Yasuha!"Tiberius said.
"You are a disgrace to your rune!" Yasuha said.
"Yeah… watch this!" Suddenly his monsters attack started going up becoming 3000, and his defense became 2400. "I attack your thunder dragon for game!"
"I activate Kunai with Chain!"
"What!" He yelled as a chain wrapped around his Sentry putting her into defense position. While simultaneously raising Thunder dragons attack by 500.
"I end!" He gritted his teeth.
"What just happened?" Someone asked in the crowd.
"That kid is right, he did cheat!" Another shouted. Seconds later the crowd erupted in boos.
Yasuha chuckled hearing their reaction.
"Shut up!" The opponent screamed. "I am your champion!"
A half-eaten apple hit him in the head in response. "Who threw that?!" He searched the crowd with his eyes.
"It doesn't matter, you brought the runes in. I play a card face down, I then flip it over activating call of the haunted bringing back my X-head cannon, but not for long! I tribute it and summon my second thunder dragon. Attack thunder dragon, destroy his sentry!" Thunder dragon roared before shooting a thunder ball at his monster destroying it. "Attack him directly Thunder Dragon!" He shouted.
The man shouted as he was electrocuted, sending him to one knee. He groaned as he felt his life points drop. "I… draw!"
He stood up, confused, and dazed from the attack."Are you good?"Yasuha's distorted voice echoed in his ear.
"I… I'm fine." He slurred. Drawing a card, it dropped on the ground. Stumbling down he tried grabbing it but ended fumbling around trying to find it.
"Just surrender, your obviously not fit to continue the duel."
"I am not surrendering!" He stood up, smacking his head with his hand. "I don't need that pathetic card anyway!"
"I summon Maryokutai in attack position!" Its attack and defense rose to 1800. "I attack your second Thunder Dragon."
A water orb formed in front of the monster before shooting it at Thunder Dragon, destroying it.
"I draw."
"I set a card face down, I then attack your fat head with Thunder Dragon. Thunder dragon roared, its attack raising to 3200 before shooting a thunder ball at Maryokutai, destroying it."
The man screamed, his body rocked back and forth before he fell backwards.
Yasuha raised an eyebrow. "Are you good?" He asked.
The man mumbled gibberish in response. "What?!" He looked at the crowd before slowly and cautiously walking toward the man.
"Are you good?" Feeling his pulse, he looked at the ground. Shaking his head, he grabbed out the opponent's deck. "Hey, kid!" He called the first duelist.
"Yes?" He asked, sitting on the ground.
"Here…" He gave him back his prized card and locator card. "Take these…" He handed him Maryokutai, Zombyra the dark, Polymerization, The Last Warrior from Another Planet, and the duelists locator cards. Looking through the deck he saw a card on the ground, picking it up he read. "Horn of the Unicorn, you would've won if you used this." He told the dead duelist. "Take this as well." He gave him the equip card.
"Thanks." The duelist said, looking at the cards.
Yasuha bent down and ripped off the cleansing rune from his neck. "You're not going to need this anymore." Turning around to walk away, he collapsed on the floor with the pain again. Looking down he saw the amulet shining before disappearing. Catching his breath, he stood up. "Naririo, we should… Naririo?" He asked looking around. "Naririo!" He spoke a little louder.
"Where did he go?" He asked himself. Searching the area, he stopped when he saw him sitting on a bench that overlooked the water.
"Naririo?" He asked, standing behind him. "Are you okay?" He walked in front of the bench.
"I'm sorry for failing, Yasuha."
"You didn't fail."
"I've lost two duels in a row, with the same deck."
"How do you think Kaiba feels?"
Naririo huffed in amusement as he shook his head. "Shut up." He replied wiping his eyes.
"Look…" Naririo sighed, sitting on the bench. "When that duelist hit me with a 3,150 attack straight to the face, and on his second turn. I thought I was going to lose; he scared me that bad."
"But you didn't… you… you're one of the best duelists I've seen. I'm a loser with a hobby."
"That guy should've won; the card he dropped could've beaten me by 50 points, Which would've been embarrassing. I won because Lady Luck was on my side."
"She must have disowned me…" He stood up and leaned on the railing overlooking the ocean.
"What's really bothering you?" Yasuha asked, staying seated.
"It's stupid." He shook his head.
"Don't say that man… we can't do this if we don't help each other out."
Naririo sighed and tapped on the railing with his fist. "I saw myself in that duelist, he was cocky, prideful, egotistical…"
"I'm going to stop you right there… that duelist would never try to help someone today, like what you did." He pointed at him. "That duelist would never do that, ever. This whole time, you've been helping. The market, the Jester, the hotel, Tsushima." He counted with his fingers.
"Those right there, proves, that you are nowhere near that juiced up, Roid raged, pathetic, small brained man! He would've given up already, and that's not you!"
Naririo huffed, shaking his head he wiped his eyes. "I…" He coughed, turning back to face the ocean.
A couple minutes later he turned around. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He stood up. "Come on." He walked toward him before the two hugged.
"Do you want to edit your deck?" He asked as the two let go. "I have that guy's deck with me." He opened another deck holder, revealing it.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt." The two sat back on the bench and looked through the decks, taking cards out and putting cards in.
"Can I see?" Yasuha asked when he finished.
"Go ahead." Naririo replied.

"It's a good negate deck." Yasuha said.
"It would be, If I can get the cards out." Naririo said.
"Give it time, you just built the deck; it takes time to make a strategy… you can't just pick up a deck and start winning. You're not Yugi."
"Or you."
"No…" He shook his head. "What do you think took me so long making the deck? I was making strategies. My main strategy, or so I thought, was to get the XYZ fusions out. It hasn't happened yet, not every strategy works. You have to constantly destroy strategies and make new ones, sometimes you can bring back the old ones.
"Do you know how tedious it is to get the XYZ fusions out?" He grabbed out his deck. "Let me show you something. For my strategy to work, I need to get out…" He looked through his deck. "V-Tiger Jet…" He revealed the card. "And W-Wing Catapult to special summon VW-Tiger Catapult, then…" He filed through his deck. "I need to get out X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head, and Z-Metal Tank to special summon XYZ-Dragon Cannon which in turn will allow me to special summon VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon.
"That's not a cheap strategy; strategies have to keep on changing. If they didn't, we would never win because we would wait to get out cards, which in turn would let our opponents get out their cards."
Naririo sighed. "How did you get so good at Yu-Gi-Oh?"
"I Practiced, and I learned patience. I used to get really frustrated while playing against friends and family because I would always lose. I always thought they had a better deck then I did, and then one day I started taking it more seriously. I learned how to make strategies, and I learned how to build decks. Instead of throwing cards into a deck.
"Let me ask you the same question, with different meaning. Why don't you think your good? You said you used to play at the orphanage all the time, I thought that would at least do something."
"Well… it's a lot more different than the orphanage."
Yasuha sighed and leaned forward with his hands together, and nodding his head. "Will get through this and get Tsushima back."
"I hope so." Naririo said looking off toward the ocean.
