Sky Sanctuary
As the warp closes, Sonic and Tania fall as they spin dash and then dash at the same time in a mossy filled sky road.
The atmosphere is bright as the building is like a sky city with different roads, leading Sonic and Tania to charge through the glass and then slide down the slope and jump.
"There they are! Fire at will!" One Nocturnus echidna shouts as the Egg Nocturnus Marauder Scouts fire laser guns at the hedgehog siblings.
Amy appears as she hammers both echidnas and then chucks the hammer while leaving Knuckles to chase the last echidna down, causing the Nocturnus echidna to panic.
Finally, Knuckles uppercuts the echidna, only for him to be surrounded by a horde of marauders with Eggrobo laser guns.
Coming from below is a Tornado, making Tails fire bullets to the ground as the echidnas shriek.
"You little brat!" One echidna shouts while pointing a laser gun at Tails.
Amy arrives by smacking the Echidna towards the Tornado, causing him to hit the wing and fall from the sky as he screams.
Knuckles is able to punch as many of his own kind as he could, showing who is the strongest echidna alive.
Sonic shows up by spin dashing on an echidna's face as he screams in pain, leading other echidnas to fire lasers at their own ally as they miss Sonic.
Tania appears as she headbutts an echidna's stomach and chucks her Caliburn at the other one as the handle smacks the helmet by knocking the echidna out.
After the Tornado leave with Tails joining back with Team Sonic, it's 5 children facing against the surviving horde that's been beaten and are covered in quills.
"What did you do to our lady!?" The Egg Nocturnus Marauder Scout shouts while raising his fists.
"We did give her a punishment! Now it's your turn!" Amy answers while clenching her hammer, Tania raising her sword, Knuckles punching his own fists, Tails pulls out 2 boomerangs and Sonic cracking his knuckles and his neck.
"Bring us to Eggman!" Knuckles yelled.
"Everyone! Do not let the kids reach our boss! Get them!" The echidna yells as the echidnas are charging towards them.
"Let's do this!" Sonic holds up a red super emerald, making his friends grin and then take a deep breath together.
"CHAOS BLAST!"
A blast larger than what Knuckles used earlier, causes a mass destruction to the sky city as the echidnas are blown away, spreading out as they fall from the sky.
What's left is a damaged atmosphere while the city still remains, giving the group a chance to see where Eggman is going and what they see as a result.
"The Death Egg!?" Tails exclaimed.
"What!? Hasn't it been destroyed!?" Tania asked.
"No. The new timeline has created the Death Egg. It was started by the robots and was now continued by the echidnas. It turns out Eggman's quest for erasing Sonic had brought my remaining kind in his hands." Knuckles points out.
"It's the chaos effect. Sonic, we need to get down there and stop the Death Egg from launching back into space." Tails is now determined to stop this once and for all.
"Yeah. Or else he'll destroy earth, your island included." Amy warned.
"What!? So that's why he used me!?" Knuckles is dumbfounded by what he heard.
"Hm. We still have plenty of time. Let's stop this oversized egg." Said Sonic.
Before they continue, metal footsteps are heard which makes Tania feel joy of seeing the same robot hedgehog from before.
"Ah! M.Sonic!"
"What in the wha!?" Sonic exclaimed.
"Is that another Sonic?" Tails is surprised that there's a robot version of Sonic right in front of the group.
"Mecha Sonic?" Amy gasps with shock, remembering the warning signs of what he'll do to Sonic.
"Mecha Sonic? Is that another one of Eggman's badniks?" Sonic asks with curiosity.
"No. This is Mecha, he was our friend, but you need to run." Knuckles raise his fists.
"What? Huh!?" Tania halts, knowing what Mecha Sonic was preprogrammed for. "M.Sonic?"
"Tania… You shouldn't have brought him near me…" Mecha Sonic is struggling to speak as his program has detected Sonic the Hedgehog, causing him to kneel.
"M.Sonic!" Tania exclaims while holding Mecha Sonic's arms.
"Tania, we need to go. If we stand around, then Sonic is done for." Tails warned.
"But, Miles…"
"He's right. He's no longer your friend the second he sees Sonic." Knuckles said as he stood in front of Tania.
"So he learned from his mistakes when it comes down to Metal, huh. No wonder." Sonic accepted the fact that any robot Eggman makes is going on hedgehog season.
[This is my final message to Tania and her friends, including her brother… Destroy my creator. Save your planet. We will meet again, my little sister.] Mecha Sonic's final message finally shuts him down as he's no longer a living robot that has feelings.
What becomes of him is a killing machine that's on a personal mission for his creator, making his visor eye flashing as he stands up.
"Objective: Destroy Sonic the Hedgehog."
"M.SONIC!" Tania screams for her robot friend, realising that he's long gone.
"It's no use. Let me handle this. Your brother and your friends are more important. It's okay, I won't destroy him, but he won't be the same when he comes back. If that doesn't work, then we have no other choice. Bear that in mind, he's an Eggman robot." Knuckles said calmly while pushing Tania towards Team Sonic.
"I…"
"Tania. We need to let him go. A badnik was created to turn us against each other. Let's go after Eggman." Amy knows how Tania felt, leading her to run with Sonic and Tails.
"This is the 5th time I'm fighting Sonic. Come on!" Knuckles charges as he swings his fist.
"Target acquired: Knuckles the Echidna. Occupation: Destroy. Take this!" Mecha Sonic does the same as both of them hit each other's fists.
With Mecha Sonic creating a gatling gun from his arm, he fires bullets as Knuckles runs around and then swings his fist on the ground, causing Mecha Sonic to dodge as he leap backwards, giving Knuckles the advantage to use a rubble by smacking his metal side which makes Mecha Sonic roll and crash into a pillar.
"Rgh! I'LL CRUSH YOU!" Mecha Sonic yells as his arm boosts towards Knuckles.
With Knuckles ducking and sliding, Mecha Sonic's arm is stuck on a pillar which leads to Knuckles punching Mecha Sonic's face and smashing the pillars.
"Hmph! Is that all you got, echidna!?" Mecha Sonic's tone is that of a mockery, but it doesn't feel the same as how he and Knuckles competed in a video game.
"I miss the days where you call me a Knucklehead!" Knuckles yells as he and Mecha Sonic are continuing their brawl.
With Tania watching, her tears are dropping as she knows her friend was a badnik, but wanted to keep him as a part of a family.
In the end, Tania learns to accept that a robot will never come back, even if he's rebuilt, causing her to sniffle and rub her eyes.
"I'll stop him. For you, M.Sonic." Tania finally gains her self confidence back as she turns around and jumps off of Sky Sanctuary.
As she regrouped with Team Sonic, an explosion from above had her gasping and turning around, scared that Mecha Sonic is no longer alive anymore.
"Come on, Tania. I know it hurts, but we need to get inside the Death Egg." Tails pat Tania's arm and nod while saddened by the loss of a friend Tania had.
"Yeah. Let's go." Tania nods with acceptance and runs down with Team Sonic.
Launch Base
They're here.
The sun is rising as the sky reveals itself to be yellow dawn as blue makes an arrival after pink.
Where they're at is a place that is full of rocket ships and buildings that are filled to the brim with technology, even with some painted with Eggman's insignia.
And the Death Egg is on the ocean as it's at the end of Angel Island.
Rushing forwards, more Nocturnus Marauder Scouts are waving as those are from the Hidden Palace and the survivors of Sky Sanctuary, making them wave to each other and jump down in front of Sonic, Tails, Amy and Tania.
"Why are you still working for Eggman!? Don't you know he attacked your homes too!?" Tails shouted.
"Because he gave us a home and we gave him our loyalty. We cannot allow you to go any further. Now hand over the chaos emeralds." The echidna that's covered in blue quills raises his hand as he demands the emeralds from Sonic and his friends.
"Sorry. But you'll have to go through us first." Sonic taunts as his friends are prepared.
Before the battle begins, a speaker is turned on with a high pitched sound.
[Team Egg Nocturnus, refrain from fighting. You did very well trying to stop them. I'll let them in the Death Egg. We'll see who's the last one standing.] Eggman calls with a sinister tone, leading the echidnas to stand between the road, only for the Death Egg to create a long bridge towards its entrance.
To Sonic, it's an opportunity to do what is right and stop this mad scientist.
In Tails, Amy and Tania, it's very much a trap set by Eggman to lure them in.
"I don't know about this… Something doesn't feel right." Amy expresses her worries as something's about to happen eventually.
"It never feels right with Eggman." Tania growled.
"We need to be careful. Sonic, the only thing we need is the Master Emerald." Said Tails.
"I know. We'll crack this egg wide open if we outsmart him." Sonic is very much prepared for this as he wants to counter Eggman's trap.
As the Death Egg's door closes, Team Sonic and Tania have reached the end point of their journey.
Death Egg
The very same thing that took Tania in as Eggman's badnik, only for this base to be left badly damaged yet rebuilt, making Sonic's friends stand guard while Sonic is looking around this empty space station.
"Welcome back, Sonic." Eggman is standing In front of Sonic and his groups while tapping the Master Emerald next to him.
"Eggman. It seems your polluted water has become regular water. Now, give us the Master Emerald." Sonic raises his hand and waves it with a serious look.
"Oh? You think I would give it back after months of humiliation. I must say, congratulations for reuniting with your family. But this is where your journey ends here." Eggman raises his arm as a glowing red eye appears from above. "Meet Red E-"
Before the Red Eye is introduced, a sword immediately stabs it as the hammer hits it deeper, causing a robot to explode.
"Well that didn't go as planned. Okay then, since you kids are taking the emerald from me, I'll just make a run for it. Later!" Dashing away with the Master Emerald in his hands, Eggman vanishes into the shadows, causing Sonic and his friends to chase him down.
That's when the blinding light flashes as Sonic's friends are seeing the building in its full form with the Death Egg activating itself.
[BEHOLD! The Great Eggman Robo! Powered by the Master Emerald! There's nothing you can do to stop me!] Eggman has booted up the robot so massive, even it's able to fit the Death Egg by destroying different floors.
"Whaaaah…" Tania is flabbergasted by how massive that robot is compared to the Death Egg Robot.
"Everyone! We need to reach the higher floor!" Amy shouts as the Death Egg starts to bring in a mass amount of water which causes the base to flood.
[Oh come on! I should've used the Death Egg Robot instead!] Eggman whined as the Great Eggman Robo fires missiles out of its fingers, causing the group to run through different warp elevators while running from flamethrowers and missiles.
A golden flash has Tails, Amy and Tania halting as they witness Super Sonic blocking the missiles.
"Sonic!" Tails shouts.
"Heh." Super Sonic smirks and darts vertically, giving Amy, Tails and Tania a chance to reach a higher floor while he faces Eggman head on.
The Great Eggman Robo turns its head towards Super Sonic, raising its fists with its body flashing green chaos energy all over its body.
[Come on, Sonic, let the best nemesis win.]
"Bring it on, Egghead." Super Sonic smirks and then boosts down by piercing through the machine, only for it to reverse the damage and harden its body.
[Hehehehe. You lose, hedgehog.] The Great Eggman Robo swings its fist, alerting Sonic to duck and uppercut the flamethrower, causing it to burst fire as Sonic blocks while grunting.
At the middle of the floor while the Death Egg is currently flooding, the trio slides under a bursting water as Tails chucks the boomerangs at the robot's nose.
[Hm? Oh? What's this? Brave little kids wanna fight? It's gonna take more than tickling a robot to stop me!] Eggman approaches the trio with his robot's legs covered by the rising water.
More golden spears appear as the Great Eggman Robo blocks and swings its fist, causing Sonic to block as he hits the wall, giving Tails's group a chance to keep going upwards and avoid Eggman's attacks as well as a barrage of water.
With the arm being sliced off by Super Sonic, the arm regenerates and hardens itself, causing Sonic to dodge upwards as the hole shows a dawn sky.
[Pesky little hedgehog! BURN!] The Great Eggman Robo fires a flamethrower out of its nose while chasing Sonic down.
Sonic can tell Super Sonic is not enough as he's dealing a lot of blows.
"HIYAH!" Amy yells as she swings a hammer at a hand that blows up and vapourised an arm, causing Eggman to shriek.
With the other arm regenerating, the Great Eggman Robo turns towards the children as Tanis chucks the sword towards the eye as it vanishes.
[Insolent brats! I will not lose to all of you!] Eggman roars as the Great Eggman Robo throws its fist towards the children at the top of the floor, only for Super Sonic to arrive and block the fist while grunting.
The high pitched noise doesn't help as Sonic, Tails and Tania are getting headaches from the Master Emerald's pain itself.
"The Master Emerald is getting unstable! We need to remove it from Eggman!" Tails grunts.
"But how!? The Master Emerald is blocked!" Amy exclaimed.
"No! It's out!" Tania points at a glowing gem out of the robot's mouth as it charges its power targeting Sonic and his friends.
Finally, a massive green laser is still being blocked by Sonic as Sonic himself flickers from gold to blue which is draining his chaos energy.
"NICKY!" The trio yelled until a massive green explosion caught them.
As the explosion clears, the water still rises as the group are floating on a broken ground and the Great Eggman Robo's head and chest are left on a surface.
Sonic, Tania, Amy and Tails are done for as they're doomed by Eggman.
[YES! GYAHAHAHAHA! I won! Now, it's time you brats deserve a resting place! Here lies Sonic the Hedgehog, always a fool, but a formidable one that offered me the chaos emeralds.] Eggman concludes his words as he raises the robots arm, preparing to crush them and drown them once he's going back to rebuild the Death Egg again without any hindrance from anyone else.
This is the end of Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends, meaning Eggman has become victorious after months of battling with one another.
This isn't the end, is it?
But they lost.
