The day after the disaster that was the Day of The Royal, Sky found himself dialing Bloom's number every minute trying to explain himself.
"Come on, pick up , pick up." The prince pleaded to his phone like it was a deity.
To his disappointment it went straight to voicemail as Timmy mouthed along with the voicemail greeting he'd heard on loop since last night.
Sky groaned as he plopped onto his bed "Why won't she pick up?"
Bluntly Riven answered "You lied about your identity, had a fiancée, and she ended up looking like an idiot in front of everyone at the stadium. You're lucky she didn't burn you right there on the spot."
Sky shouts "You could be a bit more considerate about it, I wasn't even engaged until a few days before."
Brandon sighed "He's telling the truth, plus it seems all the girls are angry at us."
Riven nods "Yeah, we heard Stella cursing you out last night over the phone."
Austin walked into the room rubbing the back of his neck "So do you want to hear the good news or the bad news about Garnet."
Hesitant, Riven asked "Let's go with the good news first."
"He should be making a recovery despite the bumpy landing, it's just some bumps and bruises." Hesitant answered as he flipped the pages of the copy of "Prisoners of Azkaban" , Bloom gifted not too long ago.
Timmy asked "And what's the bad news?"
Austin sighed "The reason for Garnet's rampage was because someone breached your telepathic bond."
Riven clenched his hand into a fist "It has to be Darcy."
"Wait but I thought Austin took care of that with Fairy Dust?" Timmy asked.
Austin explained "While it cut the connection between him and Darcy, she was able to get through to Garnet."
"I thought Griffin was sending people to watch over them, so how could Darcy gets close enough to cause Garnet to go berserk." Brandon asked.
Austin says as he began reading his book "Who knows but let's be prepared to help the girls when the time comes."
"That's if they'd talk to us after what happened." Sky moaned in disappointment.
Timmy says "I'm sure Austin could talk to Bloom, you meet with her on the weekend to discuss that book series."
Austin shrugged her shoulders "I'll try to calm her down but Bloom isn't exactly the type of girl to let something like this slide."
Brandon checked his watch "Come on Sky, we have that dinner with your parents."
Sky groaned as he was dragged out of the bed as Riven sighed "I'm heading for a walk. This whole thing has been stressful as hell."
Austin passed Riven his phantoblade "Take this just in case, you wouldn't want to be unarmed if the Trix show up."
Riven smirked "Always the worrywart, but sure."
As the three of them left, Timmy asked "So how worried are you about the Trix?"
Austin answered "On a scale of 1 to 10, probably a 5. But the girls can hold their own and no way the Trix could make a move without alerting Griffin or Faragonda."
The next morning as Team SABER was having breakfast, they notice Riven didn't come back from his walk.
"You think he got attacked, he should be back by now." Timmy states.
"He might've went to his grandparents house and slept through the alarm." Austin theorized as he was holding his head due to a headache.
"You sure you don't want to rest at the nurse's office for morning classes." Sky asked concerned about Austin's condition.
After taking a sharp breath to calm himself, the beast tamer responds "I'm fine, just have to keep calm and…"
From the loud speaker , Saladin intrupted"Attention students, this is not a drill. Head to your designated battle stations, admittedly."
Curious as he finished off his oatmeal, Brandon asked "What do you think going on."
As the team ran towards the quad, Austin said somewhat annoyed "Whatever it is, let's deal with it quick."
Once they went outside, the specialist saw the once sunny skies were filled with clouds. From the skies, they could see winged monsters flying towards the school. While below small, dark purple bug-like creatures rose from the ground.
Stricken with fear , Austin exclaimed "No way, it can't be."
Worried Sky asked "What is it Austin, do you recognize these things?"
Austin answered "It's the Army of Decay, the personal foot soldiers of Lord Darkar. The only way they could be back if he's back or…"
"The Trix got their hands on the Dragon's flame." Timmy said realizing the severity of the situation.
Sky brandished his sword and cut down one of the large creatures formed by tiny bugs.
Brandon exclaimed "Nice one, Prince Sky."
Timmy shoots another monster with his gun as he states "For such a fearsome army, they go down easily."
Austin summoned Flint to set the top of the Varia-rod ablaze as he tore 3 of the monsters in half "While they're easy to knock down, they get back up with reinforcements."
They saw the defeated creatures reform as their dismembered bodies formed into new entities.
"So like hydras ,if you cut off one head, another 2 pop up." Brandon asked."
Reluctantly Austin nodded his head as he was holding back one of the creatures.
"If that's the case, we gotta work twice as hard to take these monsters out." Sky said as he slashed at the sentries.
Though they were fighting valiantly, the Students of Red Fountain could barely keep the Army of Decay at bay. The endless hordes of enemies overwhelmed the students as they found themselves being pushed back several hours into the battle.
Flint managed to create a wall of flame to block the creatures from advancing forwards, but all it seemed to do was slow the threat down.
While Sky and several other speaclist were surrounded by the creatures. A helicopter flew above the school.
As he was sniping away behind Austin, Timmy states "Seems reinforcements are finally here."
"Took long enough."Austin said as he kicked one of the creatures into the flames.
The door of the helicopter open revealing Diaspro and several armed soldiers "Fire!" The heiress ordered as the solider fired their guns at the monsters to get a view of Sky.
She dropped a rope down to the Prince and states "Grab the rope, my Prince. We're getting you out of here!"
"What?!" Sky exclaimed as he kept on fighting for his and his classmates lives.
Disapro explained "We're here to rescue you! You can't see it but this army is endless! Red Fountain will fall!"
"Then I will fall with it! My place is here!" Sky said as he protected one of his upper class men's from getting their skull based in.
Disapro argued "Don't be absurd, you're a Prince! You have a higher calling! Your kingdom needs you! What are you waiting for? Grab the rope!"
Sky sliced away at the rope as he exclaimed " My friends need me more!"
Disapro got one more look at the defiant prince before the soliders close the helicopter doors and flew off.
While Sky struggled to fend the creatures with his shield, Austin swung the Varia-rod.
"Thanks for sticking with us bud." The beast tamer said as he helped Sky up to his feet.
"If I'm going down, might as well do it with my best friends." Sky said as he thrown a boomerang at a creature charging behind Austin.
The battle continued to rage on for another hour until Saladin entered the fray.
"We may be outnumbered, but that does not mean we are out-manned!" Saladain said as he lifted his staff in the air, causing a wave of the creatures dissipated into dust.
The students cheered at the display of might from their headmaster.
"Remind me not to end up in detention after this." Brandon joked.
Austin said as he was fending off to sentries "Glad you still have your sense of humor mate."
The duo saw a dark shadow loom over them and saw it belong to a headless behemoth.
Before the beast could attack, it was torn in two by a single slash of Yukio's blade.
"Thanks for the save Yukio." Brandon said to the former mercenary.
Nonchalantly Yukio states "This is a battlefield, so don't let your guards down." He leaped into the air and managed to pierce at a Manta Flyer that captured a student.
"Guess I made the right call in taking his offer." Austin said with the smirk.
A stampede of monster charged at Brandon and Austin but were knocked away by an exhausted Knut.
"Don't count me out of this fight just yet." Knut said as he grabbed one of the sentries and threw it over the castle walls.
Brandon roared with enthusiasm "Nice one, Knut!"
"Thanks, but behind you, Sky! I mean Brandon! Behind you, Brandon!" Knut warned the squire , but just as he turned around Brandon was grabbed by one of the headless golems.
Knut charged at the creature's leg and managed to knock it off balance as Brandon escaped from the Golem's grasp.
"Thanks again big guy, if you asked me 8 months ago , I never would thought we'd be fighting on the same side." Brandon said as he got up from the fall.
As he was fending off two sentries, Knut agreed "Yeah, like the old saying goes Yesterday's prey can be tomorrow's pals."
Austin corrected the ogre "It's "Yesterday's enemies could be today's friends. But you got the spirit."
Just when it seemed the speaclist were pushing the enemy back, Icy's face appeared in the sky cackling while a pair of dragons began rampaging through the campus, setting the stables ablaze.
Saladin attempts to extinguish the flames but the began to grow and spread throughout the campus.
To complicate matters further, several of the fallen students have risen to their feet and began attacking their former classmates.
"Wait so these things can infect corpses too." Timmy said as he blasted off a zombified third year's leg off.
Austin argued as he swung the Varia-Rod into one of the zombie's skull "They are the Army of Decay, so corpses would fit their territory."
From the school's intercom, the speaclists heard "All students to the evacuation ships! This is not a drill! This is not a drill!"
Sky argued "We can't give up now, Red Fountain can't fall on our watch."
Brandon began pulling Sky away from the battlefield "We can't win this battle, but we can win the war."
Austin used Flint to create a large flame wall to block off the enemy forces from following with the archers sniping at any of the monsters that managed to break through.
The students began boarding the ships in numbers as they took off to see their school engulfed in flames as the structure collapsed.
Austin looked out the window to see an ice dragon wrapped around the school encasing it in ice. This act cemented the Trix's victory with an eternal monument of their conquest.
Within a few minutes, Alfea came into view with the ships preparing to land. Though it faced some damage from the attack, it's in better shape than Red Fountain.
Brandon suggests "Alright guys, try your best to stand tall. We don't want to look like a bunch of losers in front of the girls.
As the ships landed, they were greeted by Faragonda "This way, gentlemen. We've prepared your quarters."
Her and several of Alfea's staff began leading the Red Fountain students to a make shift sleeping quarters but stopped Team SABER.
"I believe we have some information you'd like to hear." Fargodana said as she and Saladin lead the freshmen team away from the others.
Once they arrived in the headmistress's office, Timmy asked "Is this about not knowing where Riven is?"
Saladin shook his head "No, though we are trying to track his location. This is about how the Trix managed to destroy the school."
"They had to acquired the Dragon's flame, but I thought it was lost to the ages." Austin exclaimed as he banged his fist on the wall.
Faragonda asked "Austin, you recall that your godmother had a sister your age?"
Austin said "Yeah Fiamma, but she died during the attack on Domino."
Saladin shook his head "That's what we believed recently too, but it seems Fiamma was alive and managed to take the dragon flame with her."
Austin's eyes widened with curiosity "Where is she, and if the Trix has the flame does that mean she's…"
Fargonda says "She's alive, as for where she is , she and the other Winx went to Domino to reignite the flame inside her."
This confused Austin as he says "Other Winx? So there's 6 members now?"
Faragonda explains "No, it seems all this time that Bloom was Fiamma."
