CHAPTER 2: Since i'm telling you!

Way too white here. That was the first thought that crossed Goten's mind as he woke up. He looked around his hospital room with unease. He remembered falling unconscious in a forest but nothing after. Curious he gets up to look around this place.

"Oh, you woke up?" A voice broke his thoughts. Goten turned his head in the direction of the voice and was greeted by a young woman with dark hair and and a confused expression.

"Um… may I ask who you are?" he asked politely, still a bit confused.

"Well, my name is Jane, and I'm a nurse. Now excuse me, I have to report your state." She said, walking out the door pretty fast.

The exchange was pretty strange but it didn't bother him that much. Now alone, Goten looked around his room trying to catch every corners. "So, this is a hospital, huh?" he muttered to no one in particular. He'd never been to a hospital in his life because he was never sick nor injured. He started jumping a little to see if his body worked correctly.

He felt light. Like usual but a little less than he used to. Also he quickly remarked that his ki perception wasn't going as far as usual. What the hell? I feel like my ki is not recovering at all!

He tried charging a small ki blast but only a little yellow light came out. He jumped higher to fly, but the only thing it accomplished was hitting his head against the ceiling. Hard.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch" he said, holding his head. "Now, I don't think jumping around is the sensible thing to do right now, young man."

Goten turned around, and his eyes landed on a doctor with a dog face.

"Hello, sir," Goten said, bowing slightly. (of course he is not surprised db character look mad strange sometimes)

"Well, how polite," the doctor chuckled. He sat on the closest chair. "Now, young man, what is your name?" he says with a relaxing voice.

"It's Goten, sir. Son Goten," the boy answered.

"Well, Son Goten, you were found in a crater in the forest by some randoners. Can you tell me what you were doing there?"

Goten stayed silent for a moment. He had no answer. Was he supposed to tell them he was from another dimension? Well, that's exactly what he did.

"I'm pretty sure I'm from another dimension," he said matter-of-factly with a easy-going smile.

"…"

"…"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Okay… did you maybe hit your head?" the doctor try.

"No. You're confusing me with my father. It happens quite often!" he says flashing the same smile.

"…"

"…"

"I see… um, I think you should stay in the hospital for a while. Just give me your parents' contact." The dog man now looks exasperated.

"Sure!" Goten answered and gave Chi-Chi's number, the doctor immediatly tried calling but nothing. Of course, this number doesn't even exist?

"What country are those numbers from?" the doctor asked.

"From… (Dragon Ball country was never stated) sir."

"What country is that? Young man, this situation is serious, you know?" The doctor asked, this time a little angry, thinking goten was just some kid pulling a prank.

"I know, sir, but…" Goten started with confusion etched on his face. "I'm telling you the truth."

The doctor looked at him for a second more and turned around. "Alright, stay there. I'll see what I can do," and then he left.

Hmm… should I stay here? With no ki, I can't really search the planet as fast as I could. Hmmm, well, Gohan and Trunks must already be thinking about all that. I'm sure they will come soon enough with the Dragon Balls!

What Goten didn't know was that Bulma had used the Dragon Balls a week ago for some stupid wishes, and the machine was going to take a while to reconstruct like hedo said.

Goten went back to sleep after the doctor's departure still feeling a little tired. But 15 minutes later, he was woken up by footsteps in the hallway.

"Hello? Mr. Son, I presume?"

Goten, a little groggy, answered with a tired hum.

The man showed a badge. "I'm from the police, and I have some questions for you, young man."

That woke him up good.

He immediately got up. "What? I'm under arrest? What did I do?" he asked, shocked.

The detective eyes shoot up"I didn't say you were under arre—"

"Mom is gonna be so mad! Could you just let me go this one time?" Goten interrupted the policeman, who was still trying to calm him down.

After a solid minute, he calmed down.

"I really apologize for my outburst, sir," he said with an innocent look.

"Don't worry, kid. It happens more than you might think." Still doctor thought about how fearful the mother of the kid must be.

The two of them sat down—Goten on the bed, and the man, whose name was Detective Naomasa, sat across from him on a chair.

"Okay. Again what is your name?"

"My name is Son Goten. Sir"

"How old are you?"

"I'm 15, sir," he answered immediately.

"You can drop the 'sir,' don't worry," Naomasa said with a chuckle, then his expression turned serious. "Young man, can you tell me what a 15-year-old was doing in a crater outside of the city?"

Silence followed the question, at least that's what the detective thought was going to happen.

"Well, like I said to the dog-tor, I'm from another dimension. There was a portal that exploded, and next thing I know, I was there." He answered without a second of hesitation.

sigh "I did hear the same story from Doctor Smith, but I have a hard time believing you."

Goten looked think an instant

If i tell him about my power that should work. But mom said not to show them... well i suppose it doesn't apply to another dimension.

He gets up and walk to the closest bed.

"Okay then, maybe this will convince you," he grabs two beds and lift them up with one hand. "See?" he says with apprehension not knowing how the detective will react.

The policeman looked at him, and Goten was surprised to find an unimpressed look on his face.

"Well, a super-strength alter is quite useful, but I don't see how it helps prove anything, kid."

Goten stared at him for a good 10 seconds. "Wait. You mean this is normal?" he said, almost screaming.

"I wouldn't say normal, but a super-strength alter is seen often enough," Naomasa answered, now looking confused himself by the boy reaction.

"What's an alter?" Goten asks and naomasa almost fall of his chair.

The detective stared at him for a good 10 seconds. "Are you serious? You must be joking. Kid, just tell me the truth," he said

"Well…" Goten started and let go of the bed. They make a booming sound. "I'm telling you the truth. My powers are diminished right now for whatever reason, so I don't think I could fly efficiently or make fireball."

"You know what?" the detective said, standing up. "You are gonna follow me to the post," he finished matter-of-factly.

"Okay then..." Goten said a little stressed.

The hospital gave him an orange shirt and way too big jeans to wear since his clothes were torn.

Two hours later, and the questions still hadn't stopped. Goten looked at the officer interrogating him with a tired expression.

"I've been telling you that I don't know how to contact them since they're in another dimension," he said for the fifth time tonight, talking about his parents.

The officer looked at him with the same I don't believe you expression. And by the way he opens his mouths the same questions were about to come.

But before he could continue this pointless exchange the detective from earlier entered the room. His expression was one of calm surprise mixed with worry.

"Well, I had a hard time believing you, and now, even with your story being confirmed, it's worse," he says sweat glistening on his face.

Goten's face lit up. "Wait, really?" he said, getting up excited. "So I'm free to g-?"

"Oh, hell no," the detective answered before the sentence was even finished. "You're still an anomaly. We can't just throw you into our society."

Goten deflate. "Please don't tell me you're gonna experiment on me or something." He says having watched a lot of horror movies with trunks.

"I can't answer that question. At least as long as I or the director have a say in this i can guarrantee your safety." He answer with a determined look.

The director? Goten thought to himself. Seeing the confusion on his face, the detective quickly addressed his worries.

"You must want to know how we figured you were telling the truth, right? We had a great friend of U.A.'s headmaster listen to your answers in the interrogation room. She has an alter that allows her to detect if someone is lying." He says and look at him with a new smile "And i'm happy to hear that you are not a liar."

"You still didn't explain what an alter is," Goten said, still confused about that whole alter thing.

"An alter is a special ability, or to put it simply, a superpower that some humans in this reality develop. It could be anything, like your boost of strength—"

At this, Goten thought that his powers didn't stop at that but kept it to himself.

"Or even something crazier, like fire power or teleportation." He then gestured for Goten to follow him. "We have a proposition for you, Son Goten."

After a little walk to another interrogation room, Goten now faced a strange small animal in a suit.

"Ohh, he's cute. What's his name?" Goten said, starting to pet the animal.

The detective became livid. "DON'T PET HIM!" he shouted in horror.

Goten, surprised, turned to him. "Why? He doesn't seem displeased."

"He's right, it's not a problem," said a squeaky voice. Did the animal just talk?

Goten jumped back, shock etched on his features. "What? He can talk?"

"OF COURSE HE CAN! IT'S THE HEADMASTER OF U.A., THE BIGGEST HERO ACADEMIA!"

"Mr Son" The animal stood up. "Nice to meet you, young man. My name is Nezu Let's have a talk," he finished the sentence, smiling ominously—and cutely, of course.

An hour later, Goten was going home… well, his new temporary house. He didn't really catch the name of the person housing him.—something along the lines of Aikowa?

After a 15-minute car drive, he was at the place. His little discussion with the headmaster ended with him either going to U.A. as a normal student until a solution was found. Of course with some light experiment on him or just the experiment part in a laboratory where he might never see the sun again. Nice. Obviously, facing this fake choice, he took the good option.

"This Mr. Aikowa—"

"Aizawa," the detective quickly corrected for the third time this evening.

"Ah, yes. Aizawa." Goten says a sheepish smile on his face. "What kind of person is he?"

"I would say brooding and a little rough sometimes, but he has a good heart."

Goten just hummed in response. This description reminded him of Vegeta already. They walked to the front door and knocked. A minute later, a man in a black outfit came out.

"Is he the kid I have to babysit?" he asked nonchalantly. He looked at Goten. His red eyes and pale skin made him look more like a vampire than anything. Goten furrowed his brows at the sight of the man. Definitly vegeta.

"Yes, Aizawa. I know it's a strange request, but with your position as a teacher, you were probably the best option," the detective said.

"Why not ask Toshinori? He would be better suited for something like that," Aizawa said, more confused than annoyed.

"You know about his…" The detective stopped and looked at Goten, who looked back with an absent minded smile. He then returned his gaze to Aizawa. "Inconveniences. I feel like we shouldn't put that one on him," he finished, looking a little sad now. Goten noticed but kept his mouth shut.

"I see," Aizawa said. "It's no problem. If I can help, I will. Now go back and rest. I'll take care of the rest." The detective, hearing that, smiled.

He then turned to Goten. "I can only remind you again to not try anything like running away or fighting. It would only put yourself and others at risk."

"Don't worry, sir. It wasn't part of my plan," Goten said, leaving out the part where he didn't have any plans.

The detective entered his car and left. Goten then looked closer at the car and gasped loudly.

"What?!"

Aizawa turned serious. "What? You saw something?" he asked, looking around.

Goten pointed at the car. Aizawa looked confused.

"This car has tires!"

Aizawa almost fell from the absurdity of the situation. "Are you serious? Was that what made you gasp?" he asked, flabbergasted.

"Yeah, of course. In my world, cars fly," Goten said, still surprised.

Aizawa massaged his forehead. "Just get in the house, kid," he said, now even more tired than usual.

Aizawa shows Goten his room. A small room that look as normal as one can look.

"You can sleep here the bathroom is at the end of the corridor. You can take a bath if you want. Dinner is on the table." He says and walk away.

well that was brief. Thought Goten. He entered his new room and opened the closet. He found clothes, some too big other fiting just right. He took a short and a sleeveless shirt before going to the bathroom.

During the shower he couldn't help himself and started thinking about his family.

Mom and Gohan must be so panicked. I can't even imagine how guilty trunks must feel. Ah if only i took it seriously i could have grabbed Hedo before the portal took me. Dad and vegeta would have been disapointed...

The water kept dripping on his body while he was lost in thought. For the first time since coming here he think about the possibility of them not coming. Of his ki not recovering. That almost drove him to tears. But he quickly steeled himself.

"Even if i have to stay here it's not that bad! I will finda a way to get my ki back! And dad will find a way he always does!" he says outloud to himself. These simple words fills him with determination. he smiles and quit the shower feeling ready.

Now our hero seems ready for this world that he doesn't know. And he will do everything he can to get home.
