Since the last update, Luna Lovegood had her 44th birthday on February 13, 2025. She is literally 10 days younger than me as my 44th birthday will occur on February 23rd, 2025. Happy belated birthday, Luna!

Meanwhile, that same night, at 11 P.M. Hogwarts time, there was a meeting of the D.A. in the Room of Requirement.

But before they could get on with any activities, Lily, still fulfilling her role as their Room Guardian, felt a powerful jolt to her heart when she saw Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria walk into the Room of Requirement with the rest of the D.A.

Without thinking about it at all, Lily zoomed up to Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria faster than a cheetah chasing its prey.

Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria all had pleasantly shocked looks come across their faces the nanosecond they saw Lily.

Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria, along with Lily herself, now all felt their eyes watering as they exchanged tight and silent hugs.

They held these hugs for a minute and a nanosecond and when they broke apart, Tracey exclaimed, "Lily, it is so wonderful to see you again!"

"We've missed you," said Daphne seriously, "We've been waiting for this moment."

"It's definitely sooner than I expected," admitted Astoria, "I'm not complaining though."

"I am overwhelmed with happiness to see my three closest friends again," declared Lily.

Next nanosecond, Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria all retrieved their wands from their right hand pockets with their right hands and held them at the ready.

'lily," said Tracey passionately, "This is for you!"

Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria raised their wands in unison and cried out, "Expecto Patronum!"

Silver Lillies shot out of Tracey's, Daphne's, and Astoria's wands and galloped towards Lily where they circled around her head.

"Seriously," sobbed Lily, "You three had your patronus forms change into Lillies? It's obvious that you three have been thinking about me while I've been gone, and I really appreciate that."

"We were worried about you," said Tracey seriously, "As a muggleborn Slytherin, you are particularly vulnerable."

"I have some security for now," explained Lily, "You see, the very reason why I am here is because Neville, Ginny, Luna, and Sally recruited me to be our Room Guardian."

"We were concerned," revealed Neville, "About someone like Snape or the Carrows discovering us here. What you have to understand is that you have to ask the Room of Requirement for exactly what you want or need. We have asked the room to keep the Carrows' and Snape's supporters out. However, we need to keep the room occupied at all times for this request to hold."

"So," piped up Ginny, "We came up with a plan of using a student who is currently not attending Hogwarts due to the muggleborn born and therefore will not be missed in class. Lily can remain in this room at all times and no one else in the D.A. has to risk arousing suspicion by cutting class. It would be even more suspicious if we took turns cutting class."

"Luna got permission from my parents for me to take on this responsibility," said Lily matter of factly.

"I then sent Lily a paper airplane I had turned into a portkey, and it activated up her touch, bringing her here," added Luna.

"One person I really need to acknowledge is Sally Anne Perks," said Lily sincerely, "One of the limitations of the Room of Requirement is that it cannot conjure food. Sally has been stopping by three times a day to bring me food and drink, cleverly multiplying her own meals to provide food and drink for me. She came to visit me the morning after I had come and brought me pancakes, sausage patties, and fruit punch. She asked me about my food preferences, and I told her what they are and aren't. You are sweet and kind, Sally Anne Perks."

Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria all smiled more widely than they had in months and felt happier than they had in months upon hearing Lily use her pet phrase, "You are sweet and kind."

"What's so sweet right now," said Tracey glowingly, "Is reunited with you."

"Tracey, " said Neville, "Why don't you do the honors you've been waiting to do?"

Lily looked confused at that. However, Tracey pulled a D.A. coin out of her left pocket with her left hand.

"Lily," said Daphne seriously, "I know that Tracey is a particularly important friend to you."

"She really is," nodded Lily fiercely, "Tracey is the person who is most responsible for how rich and rewarding my time at Hogwarts has been. During the Welcoming Feast in our first year, I was very sad about missing my parents and felt lonely and homesick. Noticing my distress, Tracey went out of her way to befriend and support me and encouraged you to do the same. Her actions made me felt wanted, welcomed, and accepted and gave me a place to fit in as a muggleborn Slytherin. Her actions also led to my friendships with you and later Astoria."

"As such," exclaimed Neville, "It is only fitting that Tracey should be the one to present you with your D.A. coin."

Tracey walked slowly up to Lily.

"Lily," instructed Tracey, "Please hold out your left hand."

Lily did hold out her left hand and Tracey softly and gently laid it in her hand.

Lily felt a current of emotion wash over her as it hit her that, "I've just been officially welcomed into the newly reformed D.A. by my BFF!"

"We carry our D.A. coins in our left hand pockets," explained Tracey, "So we can access them without disturbing our wands in our right hand pockets."

"Lily," added Neville proudly, "Has been practicing magic on her own during the time she's been stuck up here."

"That," observed Daphne smartly, "Will make her an invaluable asset to us. We literally will have someone fighting for our side who has been constantly practicing and perfecting her magic."

"The Dark Side won't know what's hit it when Lily fights against it," predicted Astoria confidently.

"Plus," added Lily, "I'll also have time to think out strategies, invent new spells, and the like."

"Lily is taking her job as Room Guardian very seriously," nodded Tracey, "While also finding ways to put her time up here to good use. You go girl!"

"I know that Neville, Ginny, Luna, and Sally probably want to get on with our lessons tonight," piped up Lily, "But before we do, I want to sing a song for Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria to express what their friendship has meant to me since I came to Hogwarts."

And Lily, looking directly at and between Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria, said gently, "Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria, I hereby dedicate this song to you three for the wonderful friends you have been to me ever since I met you,' and then she began to sing and sang:

"I'll tell the world, I'll sing the song.
It's a better place since you came along.
Since you came along.
Your touch is sunlight through the trees.
Your kisses are the ocean breeze.
Everything's alright when you're with me.

And ah, you're my favorite thing.
Ah, all the love that you bring.
But it feels like I've opened my eyes again.
And the colors are golden and bright again.
There's a song in my heart, I feel like I belong.
It's a better place since you came along.
It's a better place since you came along.

I see the whole world in your eyes.
It's like I've known you all my life.
We just feel so right.
So I pour my heart into your hands.
It's like you really understand.
You love the way I am.

And ah, you're my favorite thing.
Ah, all the happiness you bring.
But it feels like I've opened my eyes again.
And the colors are golden and bright again.
And the sun paints the skies.
And the wind sings our song.
It's a better place since you came along.
It's a better place since you came along.
Ooh-ooh, ahh-ahh.
Ooh-ooh."

As Lily had sung, Tracey, Daphne, and Astoria felt their insides glow warmer than the interior of the sun.

They could really feel within themselves how much Lily appreciated their friendship and what it meant to her.

But it was Ginny, who Lily had sung with in the Hogwarts choir in the three previous years who said, "Well, we just got a beau fitful reminder of why Lily was in the Hogwarts choir."

"It was a very heartfelt tribute from Lily to her friends," said Luna softly.

"It was a nice moment," agreed Neville, "But now it's time for us to work on our Defense Against the Dark Arts and I am sure that Lily will prove herself a worthy new member of the reformed D.A. to all of our members."

A shout out to the following members who have added Luna Lovegood and the Reformation of the D.A. to their favorites and/or follows lists since the last update:
