Claire Redfield arrives at Raccoon City to warn her brother,Chris about experiments from Umbrella Corporation,revealing the journalist as her source. Chris refuses to believe & left for work at the Police Station where the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team meets with Brian Irons,who explains that the bravo team went missing while investigating at the remote Spencer Mansion. So he sent Chris,Jill Valentine,Richard Aiken,Brad Vickers,& Albert Wesker by helicopter to investigate.
Back at the house,Claire fled when a child's mother tried to attack her. At the Mansion,Brad & Richard are killed by Zombies while Chris & Jill fled into the passage unlocked by Wesker,who is an operative for an unidentified party,tasked with stealing a virus made by William Birkin,the Umbrella employee. Irons & a rookie,Leon are attacked by Zombie Dogs,but saved by Claire.
The Zombies tried to break in while Claire,Leon,& Irons escaped to the orphanage,looking for a secret Umbrella tunnel leading to the mansion. Irons gets killed by the Licker,who attacks Leon,but was saved by Lisa Trevor,a disfigured girl that Claire befriended. She gave them the key to the secret passage. The pair discovers the secret lab where Umbrella was experimenting on children. Wesker encounters Birkin and shoots him & wife,but not before Birkin injects himself with a G-Virus. Jill shoots Wesker,who tells her to escape to the underground train before the Umbrella Corporation destroys the city.
Claire,Chris,Leon,Jill,& Birkin's daughter Sherry board the train,but are derailed when the city is destroyed,allowing the monster version of Birkin to reach them. Leon destroys the monster with the Rocket Launcher. The survivors came out of the tunnel,leaving the city behind.
