Chapter 3 The Relic
Sean slowly woke up from his bed with a groan as he sat up.
Only to hear snoring making him look seeing his girlfriend of 2 years now next to him in a nightgown still sleeping.
It's been two years since what was referred to as the Graboid incident in Perfection Nevada.
Of course there was a few issues.
Flashback 2 years ago after the incident
"What the hell did you guys want me to do? Just let them kill everyone?" Sean asked the council.
It was a long standing view of the Jedi protecting life.
Especially animals even if they were dangerous.
So he was getting lectured on that.
"We're not saying that at all. However you could have tried to at least keep one alive." Koth said.
"With what? I had no powers. No connection to the force. No materials to help me. The fuck could I have possibly have done differently?" Sean asked annoyed.
"Unfortunately he does have a point. He had no means to keep even one contained." His Master Sifo-Dyas said understanding his position.
"Perhaps." Mundi said.
"Are we seriously going to have to have another lecture on the here and now like before? There was nothing I could do and they were killing people left and right. And besides we still don't know if they were a natural life form or man made. If the second then they needed to be put down. Anything not natural is bound to cause crap like that." Sean said.
"Sadly I must agree." Plo said.
"And more importantly I find it very strange these things were there when I was." Sean said.
"You think they could have been set loose to attack you?" Mace asked.
"Nothing happens by pure chance as the old man once told me, There no such thing as coincidence." Sean said.
"Perhaps." Yoda said.
"There is still the concern of the Sith Lord who taught Palpatine. It's possible he learned you were there and sprung these creatures." Mundi said.
"And during a time when all my power was shut off." Sean said.
"If this is true there could be more of these creatures." Mace said.
"Lucky Lane is keeping the body of the one more well preserved at his base. So anything we can find out about them will be found." Sean said.
End Flashback
Right now Sean was about to get out of bed when he was pulled down making him smirk seeing her awake.
"Leaving so soon?" Lois asked kissing him making him kiss back.
"I do have a job you know." Sean said making her giggle as he got up again.
Soon after showering the two were in the living room.
"So whats on your agenda?" Sean asked.
"Oh nothing much. I need something big for the Journal blog I'm working on." Lois said annoyed since everything she tried to get to someone else got there first. She figured posting an online blog would start up her career but nothing was really working.
"I'm sure something will show up." Sean said before getting an alert before answering it before Iden showed up. "Hey Iden." Sean said.
"Hey yourself. You're not gonna believe what we just found on Harvest." Iden said.
"I thought Harvest was a recent settlement for farmers." Lois said.
"It is...But the scout parties discovered something very interesting. Some kind of outpost buried in the rock. And it's way older than the Jedi Order." Iden said making him frown.
"I'll be right there." Sean said getting his gear.
"I'm coming with. This could make my career." Lois said excited making him scoff.
"You always run into danger. Fine." Sean said as she ran up to get dressed. "And dress warmly since the planet is mostly cold." Sean said.
Later
Arriving over the planet was a large ship known as the Spirit of Fire which Earth made a year ago and was Sean's flagship.
On the observation deck was Sean looking at the planet.
"Serena?" Sean asked as the Ship's AI appeared.
"Standard orbit achieved. All systems normal." Serena said.
"Prep pod launches. Bring weapon systems online." Sean said.
"Expecting Trouble Commander?" Serena asked.
"We don't know what to expect in this situation. If this thing is older than even the Order that means it may be dangerous." Sean said before Iden and her squad known as Inferno squad walked in.
"All the troops are ready. Let's get going." Iden said.
"Right." Sean said as they left.
Arriving at the docking bay they got on a Pelican before flying to the location.
"BRRRR! Man I hate the cold." Lois said dressed in warm clothes.
"So Do I. Even Gotham is Warmer than this during the winter." Sean said before seeing other species that were allied with the Republic.
In the the last five years several new worlds had Joined the Republic.
The most famous ones by far however were the Elites and the Brutes
The Elites or the Sangheli as they were called were elite warriors who could even go head to head with Jedi in Sword combat and even became the new Honor guard of the Jedi order and the Republic taking pride in their positions.
The Brutes on the other hand were the more brutal military unit of the Republic.
They got along real well with the wookies though since they were so similar.
"Commander." The Arbiter said approaching them. (Halo five)
"Arbiter." Sean said respectfully before a Larger Brute arrived. "Atriox." Sean said.
"So you two being here must mean it's something big." Iden said making Atriox smirk.
"The Senate is pestering us with questions. We can delay no longer." Atriox said as Sean walked to it.
"Open it." Sean said getting them to do just that.
"Open sesame." Hask said before Sean looked behind them seeing nothing but still frowned.
"What is it?" Arbiter asked.
"Nothing. But be on alert. I don't think we're alone." Sean said as they went inside.
Soon enough other Jedi arrived as Mace and Plo arrived.
"How curious." Plo Said looking at the advanced technology that outshined everything they knew.
"Hmm." Mace said as he approached Iden. "Anything to report?" Mace asked.
"No. But whoever built this place they built it to last." Iden said as Lois was taking photos of the place.
"Wonder who built the place? Ancient Force people?" Lois asked.
"This galaxy doesn't have the force. Every Galaxy is different in many ways. Some have similarities but also differences." Sean said approaching some orb.
"Sean. I don't think thats wise." Mace said.
"Nothing Ventures...Nothing gained." Sean said touching it before it lit up showing star charts.
"Wow. Thats not what I was expecting." Lois said as Sean looked at it.
"Hmm." Sean said.
"I don't think we've been to these star Charts." Del said.
"Us in particular? No. But I know them. Arcadia." Sean said looking at them.
"Isn't that some vacation resort?" Iden asked.
"It is. It was built 3 years ago by a private company once it was discovered. Though it is largely unexplored." Sean said before sensing something and shielded Lois making them look seeing some aliens with long necks on Floating chairs firing at them. "San'Shyuums!" Sean yelled as they took cover.
"VERMIN!" One yelled blasting at them.
"Not these guys again." Iden said as Sean quickly pulled out two green lightsabers before charging in slashing them to pieces making them scream in pain before only one was left who cowered in fear.
"We have a truce." Sean said annoyed.
"You are all nothing but Vermin! And this relic is our birthright!"
Sean glared before blasting him with lightning making him scream in pain.
"Take him back to the Cellblock on the Spirit of fire. Things just got complicated." Sean said as two brutes took him as he screamed in fear.
"What the hell was that all about?" Lois asked making him glare.
Later
"The San'Shyuum broke the truce." Sean said to the Chancellor who was still in office since the Republic was being restructured and would be out of office in 3 more years.
The San'Shyuum had boldly attacked them once before years ago during a diplomatic mission claiming them to be nothing but worms beneath them claiming the universe belonged to them and them alone. (Seriously these guys are beyond arrogant since they actually believe that)
However though they underestimated the Republic and got severely beaten before being forced to sign a treaty for peace.
"I can't say I'm surprised. Many in the Senate feared they would break it at the first opportunity. What did this Relic have that they wanted?" Valorum asked.
"Coordinates. It's to the Arcadia system." Del said.
"That makes no sense. Thats largely unexplored territory." Mundi said in hologram form.
"To us. They may know something. These guys always go after things involved in their religion. These coordinates may involve that religion." Hask said.
"Then it is important we get there immediately." Mace said.
"Serena. Plot a course for Arcadia. Contact Admiral Thrawn to meet us there." Sean said.
"Aye Aye sir. Crazy mystery trip to Arcadia. Spinning up Hyperdrive." Serena said making him snort.
Later
Arriving at the planet they saw a small fleet of Republic Ships had also arrived.
However they saw enemy cruisers that had also been destroyed.
"Oh boy. I'm not gonna like this." Iden said as they opened communications before Admiral Thrawn and General Lane appeared.
"Thrawn, Lane." Sean said.
"Been a while son." Lane said. (Supergirl Samual Lane)
"What happened?" Hask asked.
"Those long necked freaks tried to invade but luckily we were prepared during a training exercise. None of them made it to the surface." Lane said.
"Though I am concerned why they came." Thrawn said.
"We believe they're after something involving their Religion. Luckily I think I know where to look. If we're looking for the same metal and energy signal." Sean said putting in a program before a location was found. "Bingo." Sean said.
Soon they arrived at the location seeing another star chart map before activating it seeing another star map.
"Ok this one I don't know." Sean said as Arbiter stepped up.
"These lead to the far reaches of the Galaxy." Arbiter said.
"Someone went through a lot of trouble to keep this crap hidden." Lois said in warmer clothes.
"What do you think it is?" Lane asked.
"I'm not sure. But we're gonna find out." Sean said.
Later
Arriving at the new location they found a desolated planet.
"Where the hell are we?" Sean asked.
"I'm not sure. But this planet is giving off some pretty crazy readings." Serena said.
"Start the landing process." Sean said.
"Can't theres no place for us to land the ship. But we can set up a base in one location." Serena said.
"Ok. Sargent Forge get down there." Sean said.
"On it, sir." Forge said.
Later
Arriving on the planet three land carriers called Elephant tanks were moving in three different directions.
"Yuck. This place makes Nal Hutta look clean in comparison." Iden said making Sean laugh.
"Ok let's head to the base site." Sean said.
"Uh sir...Theres something out here." One of the other squad leaders said.
"There was no life signals when we scanned the planet." Lane said.
"Uh I think the systems are fried...AHHHHHH!"
"Hey!" Sean yelled on the comms but only got static.
"The hell just happened?" Forge asked before they got the same thing from the other team.
"What the hell is happening down there?" Lane asked.
"We have no idea. We're gonna keep going forward." Iden said.
"Stay in contact." Thrawn advised.
"Roger that." Sean said as they moved forward.
"Wonder what the hell happened." Forge said before something started moving.
"Hold." Sean said getting them to stop as he looked around seeing something slimy move around.
Only to hear some horrific roar as something jumped on them making him look seeing some dead looking beast trying to slash him but he slashed it in half.
"CONTACT!" Forge yelled as more showed up in many different forms before they got shot down.
"Well, thats odd...And disturbing." Serena said observing.
"The hell are these things?" Hask asked shooting one.
"Theres nothing like them currently in the data banks. But from what I'm seeing it appears to be a parasite. It feeds on Biomass and whatever it feeds on becomes equally as intelligent as whatever it devours. A rather terrifying creature." Serena said.
"Does it have any weaknesses?" Thrawn asked.
"None that I can detect." Serena said before they made it to the base site before equipment came down to land making them a base.
"Whatever these things are must have ambushed the others. We need to find them and quick. Lord knows what might happen if they start using our tech on us." Sean said as he got on a warthog with Lois before driving off.
Arriving at one site they found some debris but no bodies or parts.
"Wow. These things are thorough." Lois said taking a picture before noticing something crawling at her making her shriek before it was shot into some containment barrier making it screech.
"We'll keep this to study for later." Sean said as they drove off.
Coming to one site they found one of the elephants held down by tentacles.
"Fuck. Iden, we found one but these damn things have it held down." Sean said.
"I hear ya." Iden said as her forces were on the move.
Arriving at the site they took them down and freed the elephant tank and found survivors.
"The hell are these things?" Hask holding the one that was captured.
"We'll find out soon enough." Sean said before the last one was rescued.
Later
"Whatever these things are. They're clearly dangerous." Sean said examining the one he captured and then killed to dissect it making Lois shudder.
"You don't have to be here Lois." Lane said to his daughter.
"Unfortunately I do if I wanna put this in my blog." Lois said.
"So they feed on Biomass. Maybe whoever placed those relics or whatever you wanna call them were fighting these and ended up losing trying to contain them." Del said.
"I don't think it's that simple." Sean said as Serena appeared.
"Sir, we've discovered an anomaly." Serena said as they left.
Arriving at the bridge they saw they were over the ocean.
"Nothing but Ocean." Forge said.
"Are you sure we're at the right location?" Sean asked.
"Fairly sure. Initiating deep scan...Docking? Cleansing? Thats not right. Commander, You are not going to like this." Serena said as the ocean floor split in two.
"Whoa!" Sean yelled as they were pulled down.
"Now what?" Lane asked as they were pulled into some tunnel.
"Who built this place?" Lois asked.
"A heavily advanced race. Probably more advanced than the people who built the original star forge." Del said.
"Whatever's here was enough to get the attention of those long necked freaks." Hask said as they came out of the other end.
"We're inside a planet. Really?" Iden asked.
"Correction we're inside an artificial planet." Sean said looking at a more detailed scan of said planet. "This planet isn't natural on the outside or inside. Look." Sean said seeing an artificial sun in the center.
"Oh my god." Lane said in disbelief.
"We're dealing with technology from a race far more advanced than the people who made the Star Forge a hundred times over." Sean said before they saw a platform.
"Let's get going." Iden said as they left.
On a drop ship the group soon arrived on a platform seeing what looked like pillars floating.
"Magnificent." Arbiter said.
"What is all this?" Atriox asked.
"I don't know." Sean said before seeing some orb like before and touched it before the pillars started changing.
"Those pillars are moving." Hask said.
"Those aren't pillars...Their ships." Sean said.
"Thats what they were after. They were gonna use these to wage war." Iden said.
"Contact all available fleets. We're gonna need some serious help moving these things. I want them back on Coruscant for study." Lane said.
"Agreed." Thrawn said.
Later
"So these ships were what they were after?" Mundi said seeing them in orbit.
"These are more advanced than anything we've ever seen. My question is who built this?" Koth asked.
"By what I assume is an extinct race." Sean said.
"Based on what?" Tiin asked.
"Where are they?" Sean asked making many look at each other. "Exactly. No one knows. While the people who built the Star Forge still live...We know nothing about these particular people...Now do we?" Sean asked.
"Regretfully no. Now...Onto these...Parasites. Are we certain they were only limited to the one planet?" Mace asked.
"Maybe. Whatever they are I've never heard of any other reports of anything like them from anyone in the Republic, UNSC, Our Convenient Republic Faction or the Lanterns. I think we're in the clear. But we'll be on Alert." Sean said.
"Good. We need to learn more about these creatures...Cause if they wiped out a race like that...Who's to say they couldn't do the same to the whole galaxy or both if they got to the other." Sean said.
Later
"YES!" Lois yelled in victory doing a little dance.
Currently she was in the shared penthouse she and Sean shared.
"What are you doing?" Sean asked laughing at her little dance.
"I just posted everything online about what happened. And It has just gotten major attention." Lois said smiling.
"Oh. Nice job." Sean said as she kissed him.
"And I have you to thank for it." Lois said making him smirk.
"Oh thats true." Sean said making her smack his arm making him laugh.
"So whats going to happen to those ships?" Lois asked.
"They are gonna be studied. Whoever built them knew what they were doing." Sean said.
"Well, with any luck we'll put that tech to good use." Lois said.
Author's note: And with that the search for the Forerunner tech has begun. Next Chapter involves an old movie from 1999. Silent Predators. I loved the movie as a kid since it made you scared to go out in the grass. Anyway Here's A couple of announcements. First I've decided to add three more series to this since they can fit perfectly. The first is Fairy Tail which instead of being on earth will be on another planet which fits. Second is Bleach since the world is full of surprises so this fits as well. As for the final one? Thats a surprise. And here's the harem.
