Chapter 2 Tremors
It's been three years since the invasion of Naboo and things took an interesting turn for both galaxies.
After the invasion the Portal opened back to Earth who joined the Republic and quickly advanced their world with this alliance.
When it became known that Batman had helped save an entire planet from the Sith with his side kicks and allies it changed perspective for many on the Vigilante.
With the exception of Bullock who still hated him.
Then came Sean being adopted by Versio and meeting his new sister who welcomed him in a heartbeat.
As for Sean he was trained by various members of the Jedi order but his main Master was Sifo-Dyas who saw he had more potential than any Jedi in the past.
As for Anakin he was being trained by Qui-Gon after Kenobi became a knight.
A week after the invasion Beowulf and several Green Lanterns liberated Anakin's home planet from the Hutts and brought him to the courts for trail and was now in prison.
And his mother was brought back to Coruscant since the Jedi code had changed drastically.
Right now though.
Iden had some device in hand looking for special metals but found nothing making her sigh closing it.
"I told you this was a waste of time." A now 13 year old Sean said walking to her on a cliff. (Iden and her team are 3 years older than him)
Sean was currently dressed in blue jeans with a red shirt and jean jacket and black combat boots.
"Honestly. I don't know why Governor Tarkin thought there would be something valuable here." Iden said.
"To be fair this area was riddled with silver and gold mines in the day." Sean said.
"True." Iden said as they walked back to the truck seeing Del getting supplies while Hask was in the back asleep making Sean snort before seeing Cows and smirked.
"Sean...What are you up to?" Iden asked cautiously as he got on the side of the truck and started jumping.
"STAMPED! STAMPED HASK!" Sean yelled making him yell in shock falling over before looking seeing the cows just standing there making him groan.
"You are gonna pay for that." Hask said making him burst out laughing as did Iden and Del. "Do you even understand how a stamped works?" Hask asked.
"Like what? A herd of three or more cows running?" Sean asked.
"I'd say 10 is the minimal number." Del said getting the gear on the truck.
"No metals?" Hask asked making Iden shrug. "Honestly. If we had that Star Forge working it would be an end to this nonsense." Hask said.
That was another thing. Sean's father had left the designs for the Star Forge behind along with several other designs. The Star Forge was under construction by Wayne Tech industry along with several other companies interested in the project.
"It's gonna take at least 4 more years till that thing is built." Sean said as they got in the truck with Iden taking the wheel before they drove off.
"We're supposed to be leaving today right?" Hask asked.
"Yup." Sean said putting on some headphones.
"I kinda like this place. Nice, Quiet, Temperatures gone down since those new machines took away those greenhouse gases as you guys call them." Iden said.
"Hey who's that?" Iden asked seeing someone doing something.
"Isn't that the Grade student who was out here?" Hask asked.
"No he graduated." Hask said.
"I hear it's supposed to be someone taking photos of the place." Del said.
"Photographer? Thats supposed to be a girl." Iden said driving to her.
"What are you doing?" Sean asked.
"You need a girlfriend." Iden said.
"Oh for the love of." Sean said annoyed making the guys laugh as she parked seeing a girl his age with tan skin pixie cut styles hair and golden brown eyes.
"Oh she's a keeper." Iden said.
"Iden." Sean growled out. "When it comes to my love life you're just as annoying as Turok." Sean said referring to their younger brother who was adopted a year ago on Earth.
The girl soon approached them.
"Hi there. You guys must be the People from the Republic I heard about."
"We deny everything." Iden said making Sean snort in amusement.
"Well, I'm Lois Lane." Lois said. (My Adventures with Superman)
"Lane? Any relations to General Lane?" Sean asked.
"How do you know my dad?" Lois asked.
"Oh your that Lois Lane. I thought you sounded familiar." Iden said.
"Oh wait a minute I know you. Your Beowulf aren't you?" Lois asked smiling at Sean who rolled his eyes.
His identity had been long known since the invasion of Naboo. He didn't need to keep it secret since he worked for the Republic and the Jedi.
There was even an accord for Vigilantes to keep their identities top secret.
Only members of the Jedi Council knew who they really were.
"Yup. So what are you doing out here?" Sean asked.
"Oh just shooting some photos. Trying to build up my journalist career. Gotta start somewhere." Lois said making him laugh. "Anyway my dad also wanted me to check on some devices monitoring earthquakes. Has anyone been blasting or something?" Lois asked.
"No. Why?" Iden asked.
"Theres some weird readings all over the place. They aren't Earthquakes. They're not long enough to be that. They feel like something else." Lois said.
"We'll ask around but I doubt it." Iden said before driving off.
"You know we could have helped her with her equipment." Iden said.
"Why?" Sean asked.
"Oh for the love of. Aren't you interested in getting a girlfriend? Like at all since the code changed?" Iden asked.
"Down the line sure. But not now. We got a lot of work to do. You know the Republic is trying build an army and get ready. Theres obviously another Sith Lord out there...And I don't think this one is like Sidious or Maul. He's even more dangerous." Sean said.
"He does have a point." Hask said.
"Not helping Hask." Iden said making him snort as they drove to perfection before parking.
"At least the prices here are good for us with the discount." Del said.
"Yeah. If you can call it that." Sean said seeing some punk throwing a ball on the wall repeatedly.
"Mel. Touch the truck and die." Hask said.
"Oh I'm so scared of Government pigs." Melvin said making him scoff as they went inside.
"Thanks Walter." Burt said with his wife and Daughter Eda who was Sean's age with him.
Eda had long blonde hair with blue eyes and white skin.
"Hey guys." Eda said.
"Hey. Ran into an old friend's daughter. Lois Lane. Taking photos to start her journalist career." Iden said.
"You know those government kids turn up oil or uranium or something out there. Next thing the Feds will be at our door. Sorry. Time to move. Eminent Domain." Burt said.
"Dad." Eda groaned.
"Oh come on. Those things are obsolete these days." Iden said.
"Maybe." Burt said before the fridge started whirring.
"Oh man. Walter don't tell me you haven't got it fixed." Sean said.
"Not like I can just make a call to have it so easily fixed." Walter said.
"See ya around. We won't be back for a long time." Hask said as they left making Eda frown.
Later
The group was soon on the road heading back to the base.
"I'm gonna miss this place." Iden said.
"I won't. It's quite sure. But too quiet." Hask said drinking some water in the front seat.
"When you retire you'll want that." Sean said making him scoff.
"Yeah right. I'll be in the military till I can't stand anymore." Hask said before Del looked outside.
"Now theres a job I don't want." Del said seeing someone on the cable towers.
"Wait a second. Thats Edger." Iden said before they parked.
"Yeah he only wears that one fucking jacket." Sean said as they got out seeing him up there.
"Man he must have been drunk as hell." Hask said.
"EDGER GET YOUR FUCKING ASS DOWN FROM THERE!" Sean yelled but he said nothing back.
"Well, we can't leave him up there." Iden said as Hask started climbing.
"This is why I hate drinking since it leads to crap like this." Hask said getting to the top. "Oh my god." Hask said seeing he was dead. "Guys...He's dead!" Hask yelled shocking them as Sean quickly started climbing up to see.
"Damn." Sean said inspecting him.
"He's been like this for a while I'd say. What do you think? Alcohol poisoning?" Hask asked.
"No...His mouth is very dry. More than it should be at this point. He died from dehydration. Thirst." Sean said as they pushed him down before he crashed down.
"GUYS!" Iden yelled.
"He's already dead he ain't gonna care." Sean said as they came down.
"If he died from Thirst that would mean he's been up there for a while." Hask said.
"Yeah...But why? I mean he has his gun." Sean said grabbing it seeing it was the old kind that shot solid rounds instead of plasma.
"Well, something happened." Iden said as they got him in the back of the truck. "Maybe we can find more answers at the labs back at the base." Iden said as they drove off again.
"Maybe it was suicide." Del said.
"Nah, Edger was a drunk but he wasn't suicidal." Iden said.
"Well, something chased him up there. Question is why was he up there for so long?" Sean asked before.
"WHOA!" Iden yelled stopping as they all quickly got out at Old Fred's farm seeing all his sheep slaughtered and eaten.
"Ok...Now I'm seriously concerned." Sean said.
"Fred?" Hask called out as they looked around before Iden saw his hat on the ground.
"Oh boy." Iden said picking it up before only seeing his head making her scream in shock.
"Ok thats it! We're going back. There is something going on!" Sean yelled as they got in the truck and drove back to perfection.
Arriving at Chang's market they went inside.
"What are you guys doing back?" Eda asked.
"Something or someone killed Edger and Old Fred." Sean said shocking them.
"You're kidding me." Melvin said in disbelief.
"His whole flock of sheep are dead and his head was in the ground." Hask said.
"What about Edger?" Miguel asked.
"Same thing probably kept him on that cable tower cause he wouldn't come down till he was dead." Iden said going for the payphone but it wasn't working.
"Oh come on. WALTER!" Sean yelled.
"It was working an hour ago." Walter said as they went back outside.
"Now look kids. You gotta get to the base and get some people here. And you gotta step on it." Nestor said.
"Oh we will." Iden said as they drove off.
"Figures. We just had to leave on the worst day." Hask said.
"Something is going on." Iden said.
"Like what? Trader federation wanting payback for destroying their trade franchise? LOOK OUT!" Sean yelled seeing a landslide blocking their path.
"Are you kidding me?" Iden asked annoyed as they got out.
"Weren't their workers here a minute ago?" Del asked.
"HEY FUCK HEADS! Where are you idiots! It's not like theres another Road assholes!" Sean yelled.
Thats when Iden looked down seeing a helmet covered in blood.
"Yeah I don't think this was their fault." Iden said making them look as Sean growled looking at the bands on his arms.
These helped evolve his powers a lot smoother but completely deactivated them for a week every six months and cut off his connection to the force.
"In the Truck now." Hask said as they got before Sean got a blaster riffle out before Iden backed into the wall.
Growling she tried to go forward but it wouldn't budge.
"Oh for crying out loud." Iden said annoyed.
"Your hung up." Sean said as she looked back.
"No I'm not." Iden said before driving forward but still not moving.
"Your hung up! You're gonna burn the clutch!" Sean yelled before they got free. "You're gonna break an axle like that." Sean said.
"I'm telling you I wasn't hung up. Otherwise why would the back tires be moving." Iden said as they drove back to the Market.
"Thought you kids were going back to the base." Burt said.
"Fucking landslide blocked the road." Sean said before.
"Mom!" Mindy yelled making them look down seeing what looked like a snake holding onto the bottom of the truck.
"What the? Where'd that come from?" Del asked.
"I think we just found out what held up the truck." Hask said.
"Next time I say it." Iden said.
"Fine." Sean said pulling it off with Burt. "The hell is this thing?" Sean asked looking at it.
"Never seen a snake like that before." Iden said inspecting it.
"I'll pay you kids 10 dollars for this." Chang said making them look at each other.
"20. five for each." Hask said.
"Fine." Walter said going inside.
"I don't believe you guys." Nancy said.
"What?" Sean asked.
"One of these alone couldn't have eaten Old Fred's flock of sheep." Burt said.
"So theres probably more." Iden said.
"I'd say a lot more considering how much was left when we found them." Sea said.
Later
Everyone was in the Market going over the events.
Walter on the other hand.
"20 lousy bucks." Hask said seeing him taking photos of it for 300.
"Guy plans ahead.
"Look we arm ourselves, we set perimeters, we stand guard. Any of those snake things show up here, we make them extinct." Burt said.
"Come on, Burt, get serious." Nestor said.
"Yeah. You make it sound like a war." Miguel said.
"What do you people got against being prepared? Wheres the sugar?" Burt asked looking for the sugar.
"Guy's like that Rambo character." Hask said.
"We have no idea what we're dealing with. Can't just makes plans and think it's gonna work without all the important details." Iden said.
"True enough." Burt said.
"Can't you just contact the base?" Nancy asked.
"No we don't have communicators since we didn't think we'd need them since this place is so quiet." Del said.
"Roads and phones are out. We're on our own." Heather said.
"What about Walter's saddle horses." Miguel said as he took a photo with Mevlin.
"You're welcome to them." Walter said.
"Great." Hask said rolling his eyes.
Next morning
Sean was cleaning the feet of his horn which was black.
"I'm not much of a rider of this kind." Hask said.
"At least it's not a Nexu like the one Turok has." Sean said getting his weapons.
"You guys sure you're up to this?" Eda asked.
"Ah, I've dealt with plenty of things over the last 8 years of my life. We'll be fine." Sean said making her grin while Iden smirked.
"What you got a crush on my little brother?" Iden asked making her blush.
"IDEN!" Sean yelled annoyed making her laugh.
"I'm just..." Iden tried to say before Melvin screamed shocking them as he came out with the snake wrapped around him before laughing.
Sean kicked him right in the face making him stumble.
"THIS ISN'T A FUCKING JOKE! Next time I'll just shoot you right in the balls! Cocksucker!" Sean yelled as they took off.
"It was just a joke." Melvin said holding his mouth.
"Not the time." Nancy said.
Later
Arriving at the docs place first they looked around.
"Doc?" Iden asked not seeing him or his wife.
"I don't like this." Del said.
"The car's gone...Maybe they just left." Hask said before they heard music.
"Wheres the fucking Music coming from?" Sean asked as they walked around before Sean yelled as he fell over.
"Lose your footing?" Hask asked amused.
"Something." Sean said before moving some dirt around seeing the car was underground hearing the music coming from it.
"What the?" Del asked as Sean got back on his horse before they rode off.
"Ok. Something is really wrong here. How could those things pull that off?" Sean asked.
"I'm more concerned as to why." Iden said.
Only for the horses to start acting up.
"Walter wouldn't know a decent horse if it shot him." Hask said.
"No...They got wind of something they don't like." Sean said taking out his blaster.
"I don't see anything. Anywhere!" Iden yelled.
Only for them to get thrown off making them grunt.
"Oh now what?" Iden asked as her's was attacked.
"What in the name of..." Hask said before seeing the snake bitting it.
"Thats how they strike ya. They wait underground." Sean said.
"But what is it?" Iden asked.
"Don't matter." Sean said shooting it making it retreat.
Only for the ground to start getting pushed up making them jump off.
"Must be a hundred of them." Hask said before it turned out to be some giant worm.
"Or not." Sean said as it opened it's mouth showing three snake like tongues.
"Holy fuck." Sean said shooting it but it just roared making them run off.
"The hell is that thing?" Hask asked.
"How should I know." Sean said before they came to a trench making them try to jump over it but failed.
Thats when it rammed itself into the wall shocking them.
"Stupid dumb animal. Knocked itself cold." Hask said as a tongue came out.
"Out cold my ass. He's dead. We actually killed it." Iden said.
"I ain't crying for it." Sean said before rocks nearly hit him making him jump back.
"Whoops. Sorry." Lois said above them.
"Oh it's just you." Iden said.
"Well, of course it's me I mean who else..." Lois trailed off seeing the blood coming out of the broken wall. "What is that?" Lois asked.
"Uh...We haven't the slightest idea." Iden said.
"You two go and uncover the body from the sand." Sean said.
"Sure." Del said as the two went up top.
"What body?" Lois asked.
Soon the three were about to pry open the rest of the wall.
"All right, 1,2,3!" Sean yelled as they pulled letting the head come out making Lois gasp in shock.
"Wow." Iden said before groaning from the smell.
"I hope it doesn't smell like that just because it's dead." Sean said looking at it. "No eyes. Then again it wouldn't be so easy to use them underground." Sean said.
"Yeah and those tongue things. Never seen anything like it." Iden said.
"Hey! Check this out!" Hask yelled making them rush up seeing the rest of it.
"Wow." Lois said.
"Man. Makes Turok's Animals look small." Sean said.
"I think this is why your machines have been acting up." Del said.
"Yeah no kidding. I've..." Lois trailed off widening her eyes before getting something from her bag.
"Ever heard of anything like this?" Hask asked.
"Oh sure Hask. Everyone on Earth knows them we just didn't tell you." Sean said sarcastically. "What kind of dumb question is that? You think this would be kept a secret? No way in hell." Sean said.
"Uh one problem." Lois said with some sheet in hand. "I don't think this was the only one." Lois said.
"What are you talking about?" Iden asked concerned.
"Take a look at these readings. I was gonna drive back home and show my dad. There are four readings in different areas at the exact same time. Only one thing could mean that." Lois said.
"Theres four of them. Down to three." Sean said.
"You have a truck or something?" Hask asked.
"Right over there." Lois said leading them away.
"How can you drive? You're the same age as my brother." Iden said.
"Rules are changing a lot since the Republic showed up." Lois said as they walked by her machine showing it was active making her tense up which Sean noticed before they rushed to a rock before one tried to grab them but missed.
"Well, look who it is." Iden said seeing one of the snake tongues missing. "Wheres your truck?" Iden asked.
"Over there." Lois said pointing to a distance.
"No way we can make that." Del said as it went under.
"At least it can't climb or push us off." Hask said as Sean groaned in disgust.
"Live ones smell worse than the dead ones." Sean said seeing it move away.
So the four were stuck on the rock for hours.
"So what are they? Experimental animals for warfare? Use them on small villages to clear them out for profit?" Iden asked.
"I highly doubt that. Sure technology has advanced a lot in the last three years but Old Bat's keeps an eye on things. Nothing like this has ever been seen from Earth. At least...Maybe not in the last few million years." Sean said.
"What? You thinking their dinosaurs or something?" Lois asked.
"Let's not forget something here. There are fish that are from millions of years ago that are still alive to this day." Sean said.
"Is that actually true?" Del asked.
"Mmhmm." Sean said.
"I vote for Space. No way these are earth animals." Hask said making him scoff. "Haven't seen him for hours. Probably long gone." Hask said.
"Wanna bet?" Sean asked going down using some wooden plank to make some noise before one of the snake tongues grabbed it making him rush up. "SHIT!" Sean yelled.
"You can't be serious. Why is it still here? It's got no eyes and I doubt it can smell us." Iden said.
"No...But it probably hears us. I think it senses sound and vibrations. And on this rock...Perfect conductor." Sean said making them groan in annoyance.
Next morning
Lois slowly woke up before finding Sean's Jacket on her as he kept watch making her smile softly.
"Thanks." Lois said making him smile as he took it back before seeing Iden's smirk making him sigh in annoyance.
"Theres no way that thing is still here after an all nighter." Hask said.
"Wanna bet?" Sean asked throwing a shovel before it came up and smashed it.
"Doesn't he got a home to go to?" Iden asked.
"Thats why Edger didn't get off that fucking tower." Sean said before Lois beamed with a smirk before getting some poles down below.
"Hope you know how to Pole vault." Lois said doing so to the next rock. "Just stay where it can't get us. My truck is parked right next to one." Lois said making Iden smirk before getting one herself.
"Go on ahead." Iden said as she went to the next. "You are gonna ask her out when this whole thing is done." Iden said making Sean groan before she tried. "SHIT!" Iden yelled falling back making Sean chuckle before doing it perfectly. "Show off." Iden said making him laugh as they all went in perfect sync.
Arriving at the truck Sean looked around.
"We need to move fast before that cocksucker tries anything." Sean said.
"Ok...Now!" Lois yelled as they got in before Lois quickly got in the driver seat and drove off.
Later
"No. You guys aren't listening. The snakes are just tongues. These worms are huge." Sean said as they were at Chang's market.
"I'm sorry, I'm having a real hard time hearing this." Nancy said.
"You ain't the only one. Now it explains how a car was pulled under. Probably either the Doc or his wife was inside and did it to get to them." Hask said shuddering.
"Wheres Burt, Heather and Eda?" Del asked Walter.
"I can't reach them." Walter said putting his radio away. "I guess they're still out driving around. Kruger what did you say those things are? Where did they come from?" Walter asked.
"How the hell should I know. I was just trained by Batman I don't know everything and neither does he." Sean said.
"You're a scientist aren't you?" Walter asked.
"Yeah don't you have a theory?" Melvin asked.
"I can't make a theory without all the variables. Never in history has anyone seen these things. And if they did theres no knowledge of them. For all we know they could be based on old folklore and no one knew that." Sean said.
"So what do we do?" Nestor asked.
"Obviously we need to leave. They're coming here. The pile of dead bodies and all indicates as much." Del said.
"Yeah." Sean said.
"I'll go get Mindy." Nancy said leaving.
"Oh she's ok. I saw her playing in the street." Melving said following.
"How we supposed to get out? The road is blocked." Lois Said.
"True. But the old jeep trail might be able to get us out safely till we get back to the base." Iden said.
"No name...How bout Graboids?" Walter asked making them groan.
"Walter." Sean said.
"We're gonna be sorry if we don't give it a name and someone else does." Walter said as Melvin screamed making Sean look before catching a basketball as he laughed.
"I scared you didn't I?" Melvin asked making him growl.
"If they show up I HOPE YOU GET SWALLOWED!" Sean yelled throwing at his face making him yell. "Fucker." Sean said.
"I hate that guy." Hask said.
"So once we get to the base then what? Have the Havoc squad come and wipe them out." Iden asked.
"I thought the Jedi didn't approve of killing animals." Del said.
"They don't under normal circumstances but in this case lives are on the line and we don't have a choice." Sean said before Melvin screamed again making him growl. "DAMNIT! I'm gonna kick his ass!" Sean yelled going outside.
"I'm gonna help you." Hask said as they went outside.
"MELVIN! Where is that waste of space." Sean said before looking up seeing him looking terrified.
"I don't think he was faking." Lois said before one of them came up shocking them.
"INSIDE!" Sean yelled as they all bolted into different buildings of trailers.
"Damn things must have followed us." Iden said before the ground shook making them tense up.
"Keep very quiet. Slow movements less vibration." Sean said before they heard something. "Oh god." Sean said as they went outside seeing Mindy on a pogo stick making Sean rush to her seeing one was coming at her as her mother appeared before he pulled her off.
"Hey!" Mindy yelled.
"Shh." Sean said before it went under.
"Come on." Nancy said pulling her up before it spat it out.
"SHIT Run!" Sean yelled as they rushed inside while Sean got on the truck.
"Get off of there! It's just gonna suck it down." Iden said.
"MOVE!" Sean yelled before another showed up.
"Run!" Iden yelled as they separated before Lois yelled as she tripped over some barbed wire and screamed when one came up from under her making her roll wrapping her legs up in them as it roared having it's tongues come out.
Sean growled grabbing a pickaxe from his truck and slammed it into the back of the head making it roar giving him a chance to rush to Lois.
"My legs!" Lois yelled trying to get them off.
"I know this ain't exactly appropriate but you need to get out of your shoes and pants." Sean said making her blush before she unbuttoned her pants as he got off her shoes before pulling them down as he got her pants off just as it got the axe out of it's back before pulling again ripping them up as Sean picked her up.
"Get over here!" Iden yelled making him rush to the store getting inside.
Later
Sean was treating Lois's wounds with some medicine.
"Ow." Lois said making him smirk.
"Sorry." Sean said as she lightly smiled at him. "I would think your old man would help you be tolerant to pain." Sean said making her snicker.
"Oh he tried. I think my sister is more military than me." Lois said.
Sean smiled before looking at Iden who smirked making him roll his eyes before handing her some pants and shoes.
"Thanks." Lois said getting them on.
"Now what?" Miguel asked.
"I don't know. We're in a tight spot. My powers are shut off. And we got no communication. Only thing we can is wait." Sean said.
"We got plenty of food and water. So maybe we can wait long enough till Admiral Versio sends help." Hask said.
"I don't know." Sean said before the fridge started wiring again making them bolt to it.
"Damn, Damn, Damn!" Iden said as they pulled it back unplugging it.
"Oh boy." Sean said before one showed up making Sean and the others jump away.
"Now what?" Iden yelled before Sean looked up seeing an entrance to the roof.
"Walter tell me that roof is stable?" Sean asked.
"Yeah." Walter said.
"Go!" Sean yelled as Lois got on the shelves jumping away.
Iden and Hask helped Walter up up As Sean threw some cans to the side making noise to distract it making it roar before pushing the shelves over.
"Lois jump!" Iden yelled.
"I can't!" Lois yelled before it tipped over throwing her out a window making Sean rush up top.
"Lois!" Sean yelled rushing tot he other side but saw nothing.
"I'm ok." Lois said climbing the water tower making him sigh.
"Give me a heart attack why don't ya." Sean said making her giggle.
"Hey whats going on? Where are you guys?" Melvin asked making Sean rush to the side seeing him in a shed. "Why are you on the roof?" Melvin asked.
"Why do you fucking think? Get up on yours!" Sean yelled.
"No way." Melvin yelled before one tried to get him making him scream rushing up top.
"Now you see dumbass?" Iden asked.
Meanwhile
Burt and his wife and daughter arrived back home after a failed search.
"Oh I don't believe it. You'd think after eating all those sheep they would have to take a dump someplace." Burt said.
"Unless they digest slowly." Eda said before looking through a sniper seeing everyone on their roofs. "What the?" Eda asked.
"What is it?" Heather asked.
"Everyone is one their roofs." Eda said making Burt look.
"The hell?" Burt asked as they went inside.
Back with the others.
"Yo, Walter. This is Burt. Come back." Burt said on the radio before Sean climbed down and got it before coming back up.
"Burt?" Sean asked.
"Sean? What are you guys doing back? And why are you on the roof?" Burt asked before Heather started something with bullets making some loud noise which attracted the attention of one of the Worms.
"Burt you need to get up on yours because whatever these things are one's heading right for ya." Iden said.
"You think I can't handle a snake?" Burt asked.
"They're not snakes. Their tongues." Sean said shocking him before the wall busted down was one came through.
"JESUS CHRIST!" Burt yelled before his transmission was cut off making them sigh before they heard gunfire.
"I got a good feeling." Hask said.
Meanwhile
Burt and his family shot at the Worm that roared.
"Shit." Eda said going for another gun but her leg got grabbed making her scream as she was pulled before Heather using a shotgun shot it off. "Disgusting." Eda said going for a machine gun shooting it.
Eda then got out a Spaz shotgun before shooting it several times.
"This isn't working." Heather said.
"Dad!" Eda yelled pointing to the glass display making him break it open before getting the big guns.
"So help me god." Burt said before shooting it making real damage before firing at the mouth making it roar in pain before dying.
"What the hell is that thing?" Eda asked.
"I don't know...But it just broke into the wrong house!" Burt yelled smiling.
Meanwhile
"Burt?" Sean called.
"We're good. We killed it." Burt said making them cheer.
"Nice going but theres two more." Sean said.
At Burt's place they made it to the roof.
"You know theres no way we can shoot them if they're underground." Eda said.
"Yeah thats true. We need a plan." Burt said.
"Sean?" Eda called out.
"Yeah?" Sean asked.
"Theres no way we can shoot them if they're underground." Eda said.
"I kinda figured. And going for help..." Sean tried to say.
"Guys...Look." Lois said.
"Hold that thought." Sean said rushing to the side seeing the first one moving it's tongues around the building.
"Better not stink up my shop." Walter said.
"No...He's doing something." Sean said as they went under.
"Maybe just studying the building." Iden said before it went up making them stumble.
"Nope. It's trying to find the weak spot to tear it down." Sean said.
"Sean? Whats going on?" Eda asked on the radio making him grab it.
"Damn things are studying the buildings trying to break them down." Sean said making her curse.
"Theres gotta be something to get their attention." Heather said making Burt think before grabbing it.
"Walter? That little tractor of yours still work?" Burt asked.
"Yeah. Why?" Walter asked.
"Here's what I want you to do. I want you to make it drive off and distract them." Burt said.
"And do what? It's just gonna give us a few minutes." Hask said.
"Sean, I want you to get to the bulldozer and attach it to that semi trailer. We can all get out on it that way." Burt said.
"Yeah...that actually works." Sean said.
"Ok...Let's do it." Hask said as he quietly got down before setting it up.
"You sure about this?" Iden said.
"I'm a fast runner compared to everyone else. Besides I'm the only one who knows how to operate something like that." Sean said.
"True enough." Iden said.
"Ready?" Hask asked.
"Go." Sean said making him start it up driving off as he held onto the building.
"It's working. It's following it." Hask said before the second one did the same.
"Here I go." Sean said jumping off and ran as fast as he could.
As this was happening the tractor hitting a hill tipped over.
"DAMN!" Walter yelled before they started going after Sean.
"Oh my god." Iden said.
"SEAN STOP! THEIR COMING! BE QUIET! DON'T MOVE!" Lois yelled making him stop as one came up behind him making him sigh as another came up front.
"This isn't good. They're gonna find him eventually." Hask said.
"Just make noise." Walter said.
"No we something consistent." Del said before Lois looked down seeing a pipe before going down.
"Lois what are you doing?" Iden asked.
"You said you needed something consistent." Lois said breaking it making water fall out.
This in turn caused the Worms to leave making him smirk as he rushed to his objective.
"Nice work they left him." Iden said.
Sean quickly got in the bulldozer before attaching it to the trailer before driving forward.
"YEAH!" Sean yelled as he drove to pick up the others.
Later
After picking up Burt and his family they were driving off to the mountains.
"There we go. Solid Rock!" Burt yelled.
"Any sign of them?" Sean asked continuing to drive.
"They must have given up." Del said before seeing them do something.
"What are they up to now?" Hask asked.
"Wait...STOP!" Sean yelled stopping.
"Whats wrong?" Eda asked making him sigh.
"It's an ambush. they're hollowing the dirt ahead so we can't go any further." Sean said shocking them.
"Shit." Iden said.
"How smart are these things?" Hask asked before they started attacking the trailer making Sean growl.
"If I go forward we're just gonna fall over." Sean said.
"And if we stop they'll just dig us down." Iden said.
"Plan B." Burt said lighting a bomb throwing it over making a loud bomb which made them screech.
"Did it kill them?" Iden asked.
"No. They're just scared of the noise. It's so loud and they're sensitive to sound." Sean said before seeing a formation of rocks. "Burt how many of those do you got?" Sean asked.
"More than enough." Burt said.
"Light one off and we'll head to those rocks." Sean said.
"Copy that." Burt said before doing so making another boom which made them retreat.
"Ok let's go!" Sean yelled as they got what they could carry and ran off to those rocks.
Reaching them the worms just moved around but couldn't reach them.
"Now what?" Hask asked.
"Well, if we use those bombs right we could kill them." Sean said.
"Blow them up from the inside?" Lois asked.
"Yeah." Sean said.
"Worth a shot." Iden said.
Everyone was throwing the rocks they could to draw them out.
"Theres one." Sean said.
"I got this one." Iden said having it attached to rope before swinging it around before throwing it out there and slowly pulled it back.
"Lunch time." Iden said seeing it swallow it.
"DOWN!" Sean yelled before.
BOOM!
"HA!" Lois yelled before Sean covered her from the flying guts.
"Ugh." Sean said disgusted taking off his jacket.
"Thanks." Lois said making him smile as Iden smirked.
Trying for the last one.
"Look who it is." Del said seeing it was the one who had a missing snake head tongue.
"Give me that. This one is mine." Sean said twirling it around before throwing it out and slowly pulling it back.
"And here we go again." Eda said but.
It spat it out at them.
"OH SHIT! RUN!" Sean yelled grabbing one as it blew up the rest of them making a loud explosion.
"Oh shit." Iden said as they ran back but it came back up at them.
"Don't move." Sean said as it slowly moved back down.
"It's not going anywhere is it?" Iden asked.
"Nope. Even if I use the last bomb theres no guarantee we'll be rescued anytime soon." Sean said.
"So what do we do?" Iden asked as he looked around before a smirk appeared on his face. "Sean." Iden said cautiously before he bolted making it come as she ran after him. "What are you doing?" Iden asked.
"I GOT A GODDAMN PLAN!" Sean yelled looking for the lighter.
"Hold on!" Lois yelled chasing after them as it chased them down.
"This better be a good plan." Iden said as they arrived at a cliff.
"Get ready." Sean said shortening the fuse.
"Light it already." Iden said.
"Not yet...NOW!" Sean yelled as Lois lite it up before he threw it behind him.
"Too far! You threw it behind him." Iden said.
"I know that was the idea." Sean said as it blew making it go even faster as they got out of the way while Sean stood there.
"Get out of the way." Lois yelled as it neared them but he jumped over it.
"YEAH!" Sean yelled as it came out of the wall flying down. "CAN YOU FLY YOU SUCKER! CAN YOU FLY!" Sean yelled as it screeched before crashing down making it's guts spray everywhere.
Sean chuckled as he looked down as the girls approached him.
"It just hit me you know? Stampede?" Sean asked making Iden laugh as everyone cheered.
Later
Soon Republic forces arrived and were investigating the whole thing.
"I'm very impressed with all four of you." Garrick said.
"Eh, It was unique I'll say that much." Sean said.
"Smile." Lois said taking a photo of him. "Burt lent me his camera." Lois said walking to him. "So...I'm gonna be taking some photos of that one we dug up. My Dad wants every detail." Lois said.
"I'll bet he does." Sean said chuckling looking at her making her smile softly.
"Well, I'll be seeing you around." Lois said walking off.
Iden slammed the hood of their truck down making him jump as he looked seeing her frown.
"Oh fine." Sean said annoyed rushing to her. "Seriously what does it take to make her stop?" Sean asked approaching her. "Lois?" Sean asked making her stop to face him as he was in front of her. "I uh...Just wanted to." Sean tried to say.
"Yes?" Lois asked making him sigh.
"Fuck it." Sean said kissing her which she returned holding him close making Iden laugh.
"I win the bet with Tarkin." Iden said making Garrick chuckle.
"All this so you could get the Wolfpack approved?" Garrick asked.
"And get him to finally date someone." Iden said watching the two.
