Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: EoP Special Episode 1
[Finally getting my anthology series up in running. Like I stated in the description, this work will be a series of stories based on the world of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of PokePark. These stories will hopefully give more flavor to my characters from the main stories and may even add some new ones. All of these stories will be canon though I may do a non-canon story for fun later down the line. Let's kick this off with a special one, cause I'm sure a lot of you long time readers have been wondering how a certain Alolan Vulpix and Lucario were feeling. Enjoy.]

[Takes place in between Chapters 3 and 4.]
(Vixie's POV)(Two Days after Tony's departure)(First Basement floor of Wigglytuff's Guild)
"Yep, just another day for Team Unity. We handle tough outlaws and missions like this all the time so of course there was nothing to worry about." Jacky bragged to our last clients after another successful day of completing multiple missions. The clients were very grateful for our accomplishment and while Jacky relished the attention, I stood by in silence, consumed by my thoughts.
It's only been two days. What could have possibly drove him to quickly take on such a mission like that? Was it because of Jack? Me? Arceus I hope it's not what I think it is…
"Hellooo, Earth to Vixie?" Jack said, snapping his fingers in front of my face to bring me out of my thoughts. I jumped a little and shook my head to clear it before noticing Jack had bent down in front of me.
"Huh? Sorry, I was…distracted. Are we good here?" I asked, noticing the clients were already gone.
"*scoffs* Distracted? Nothing new there recently. And yep, we got out fat rewards for the missions. All thanks to my amazing skills and your leadership. Luckily you aren't lost in your thoughts when on missions lest I would have to take over." Jack stated before posing in a pondering stance with a smirk. "Though that doesn't sound that bad."
"You? Leading? I don't think so. Just stick to hitting things really hard hun." I joked slightly before becoming silent again.
"What? I totally could. I could totally bring Team Unity to new heights if I took the lead every now and then." Jack stated. "But, I'm fine it's you or Tony leading. Y'all are the only ones I find worthy."
Jack must've noticed my silence again given that I didn't respond back to him. I heard a sigh and then another snap of his fingers in my face brought me back to my senses.
"I know you're getting annoyed with me doing that cause I'm definitely annoyed doing it." Jack stated before turning towards the stair/ladder of the guild. "Come on, let's head to Spinda's and waste these earnings."
"We're going to the bank first, no arguments." I stated as I followed him up the stairs. He let out an exaggerated groan of annoyance but I knew he would comply. We soon made our way out of the guild in silence, briefly saying goodbyes to a passing Sunflora and Chimecho. Our silence continued as we walked down the stairs before Jack spoke up.
"So, same thoughts as earlier?" Jack asked simply. I snapped out of them again and sighed, knowing I couldn't deny it.
"Yes." I stated simply, causing him to groan and stop walking.
"Tony is gonna be fine. Dude is probably getting a vacation over there now that he left us to do all the work for Team Unity. There's no real need to be worried about him." Jack stated, slightly annoyed and causing me to scowl a little.
"We've been partners and best friends for years, I'm supposed to be worried. You're a part of this team too, how can you not be worried?" I questioned, annoyed.
"Of course I'm worried." Jack stated fervently, shocking me.
"Wait, you are?" I questioned. I know Tony's not his favorite Pokemon in the world so this is hard to believe.
"Of course! Dude decided to take a teaching job over bounty hunting and exploring. Motherfucker's definitely gonna get weaker being around all those newbies. How's he gonna stay in top form if I'm not around to push him? The nerve of him." Jack stated, kicking a rock in frustration and crossing his arms to scowling in the distance. He then noticed my silence and turned to me, soon seeing my raised eyebrow and look of disbelief. "What?"
I then sighed out, thinking about it a bit further.
"You know what, I'm not surprised that's the reason." I stated before smirking. "I'm more surprised to hear that you actually care about him."
"Oh no, don't get it twisted." Jack stated defensive with a slight blush of embarrassment on his face as I continued to give him a teasing smirk. "I'm worried about his abilities. I'm gonna surpass him in combat one of these days but I need him to be at top form when I do it. *turns slightly away from me and pouts* It won't be fulfilling or accomplishing if he unintentionally made it easy."
Seeing him act this way brought a genuine smile to my face. It was cute and made me feel better knowing that I wasn't the only one worried about Tony, even if Jack worried in his own unique way.
"You know, you two are pretty similar, whether you like to admit or not, baby." I stated slyly while slowly walking past him, bumping him with my hip before Jack followed after.
"Tony and me? No way, can't stand him sometimes. I mean, all that power and never showing off. Who does that?" Jack questioned.
"You both push each other to keep climbing, both heroes in your own rights, and powerhouses." I stated, I looked back to see Jack now sporting a somewhat egotistical smirk.
"Heh, powerhouse hero is right. And when I beat my own legend Pokémon like y'all have, I'll be one step closer to overtaking him." Jack stated haughtily. "And with you backing me up, being a hero is light work."
"Cause you'd be pretty hopeless without me keeping you in check." I joked as we reached the bottom of the stairs. I looked back to see an exaggerated, hurt expression on Jack's face. I rolled my eyes and smiled, walking up to him before standing on my hind legs to reach his face, wrapping my front legs around one of his arms and giving him a kiss on the cheek. This cheered him up as a smirk appeared on his face. I then whispered to him. "I appreciate the compliment though."
He turned his head to me, still sporting that cute smirk, and leaned in to kiss me. I leaned in as well, our lips soon making contact as we shared a tender kiss. I wrapped my front legs around his neck as he wrapped an arm around my waist. Both of us pulled each other closer and deepened our kiss. I felt Jack's tongue touch my lips and I almost gave in but remembered where we were as I begrudgingly broke the kiss. He gave me a confused look.
"As much as I want to continue~, we really gotta chill when doing it in public." I explained, the both of us still staying in each other's embrace. "I have a feeling we're making everyone around us uncomfortable."
"Bah, forget them. They're just jealous that they can't hold and make out with the sexy ass Pokémon that you are. Fuck 'em." Jack stated, his hand brushing across my butt. I blushed a bit at his blunt comment and moaned a little at the contact, shuddering as certain thoughts began to fill my head. I quickly shook my head clear before breaking our embrace, falling back down on all fours.
"Oh no you don't, big boy. We still got things to take care of." I stated, turning around to face the road heading to Treasure Town, all the while trying to stop myself from dragging him far enough away in the forest and having my way with him. I heard him groan in slight annoyance but knew he'd comply.
"Listen." He began. I was mid-step when he said this so I turned around and noticed the serious expression on his face. "Tony's gonna be fine. With the amount of shit y'all had to deal with, I doubt anything's gonna keep him down for long. At least it better not, not while I'm around. Better to just let him deal with it on his own until he wants to come to us about it. Can't force out shit from him that he doesn't want to let out."
I thought about it for a second, letting what Jack said seep in as I smiled. I was happy to see that Jack cared, whether it be for my feelings or his own personal one's towards Tony.
He's right, Tony will come to us if he needs to. Plus, I'm sure he'll be writing to us soon whenever he gets there.
"You're right Jack, he'll reach out when he can. Sorry for ruining the mood." I apologized, causing him to shrug.
"You don't gotta apologize for shit. You just gave me another excuse to fight Tony when he gets back. He's got a lot of nerve making you feel this upset." Jack said, fully serious as he cracked his knuckles. I laughed at his response.
"I'd like to see that, just make sure you don't put each other in the infirmary again. Those were days without missions." I stated jokingly.
"He started it though." Jack stated.
"And finished it." I teased again, getting him to look away and growl a little in frustration. I then gave him a warm smile. "Love you, Jacky."
"Love you too, Vixie." He responded back with his own warm smile. He then looked around rapidly a few times after saying that. "No one else heard that, right?"
"No one else heard it, your 'badass' reputation remains intact." I laughed, raising a paw to do the air quotes. I then nodded towards Treasure Town. "Now come on, let's go and store our rewards and stuff. Also…"
I saw him raise an eyebrow at my pause. I turned my body away from him, making sure to keep sight of him as I slightly wiggled butt towards him, causing him to go wide eyed.
"I'd still like to show my appreciation for helping me and caring, so let's get these errands done quickly. No distractions~." I sang the last two words before walking towards Treasure Town, making sure to put a little bit of sway into my hips as I walked. I could see him, but if I did, I would've seen Jack bite his lip and mouth "Damn" before following after me, keeping his eyes firmly on my behind.
[Small note about Vulpixes, I know that they're way smaller than Lucarioes in terms of height but I like to think that, like people and other animals, grow with age, even before and after evolution. So while Vixie is still shorter than Jack, she's not obnoxiously short given that they're both young adults. Same goes for Ema and Tepper to a lesser extent. There is like a foot gap between the two Lmao. I have a few chapters already written and I hope to get them out soon but I'm also open to new ideas, canon or non-canon, in regards to this story.
