Chapter 8 - Discoveries
Early that same morning…
A red and white, with a hint of blue, Autobot, walked the grounds of the Ark. Passing through corridors to reach his destination. He caught sight of Ironhide along the path, following behind him a familiar human — Daisy, and her Vaporeon Eliza.
"Morin', Perceptor," Ironhide said, nodding his head.
"Hi, Perceptor!" Daisy waved while Vapoeron chirped.
"Good morning, Ironhide, Daisy, are you taking them to do early training?"
"Sure am, help to bring that stamina of 'ers back."
He faced the young human, "then I wish you good luck with your training."
"Thanks" she smiled
Perceptor acknowledged this and began moving forward, leaving the pair behind. Finally making it to the 5th deck and entering the lab, he spotted Wheeljack and Jetfire scrambling equipment and data files, putting them in order.
"Moring, Percy," said Wheeljack, moving boxes to the side of the room.
It's already been four days living in this dimension. When the 'bots arrived in this room, it was a mess as if a hurricane swiped through there, not to mention the wild pokemon feeding off the ship's electricity. Now, after relocating the pokemon (thanks to Jon and Daisy's help), and putting things in order. They were finally able to get the lab up and running.
"How are things coming along?" asked Perceptor.
Jetfire was busy monitoring the files on the computers so Wheeljack answered, "Swell, so far. Other than some broken video logs."
"I beg your pardon?"
The former wrecker put down the boxes on the tabletop, "Last night, Jetfire found some broken video logs. As of now, he's trying to make the audio clear."
Perceptor walked over to his fellow scientist. When he got closer, he watched as the screen struggled to form an image. Once stable, an image of a Cybertronian glitched in and out of frame, giving the Autobots a puzzled look. Jetfire managed to get the image clear, shock filled their faces.
"What on Cybertron?" Jetfire breathed.
Wheeljack walked over to them, wondering what the big surprise was, as he looked over from the opposite side of Jetfire his optics widened.
"How could this be?" Wheeljack quarried.
Perceptor placed his hand on his chin, thinking out loud, "It would make sense."
Wheeljack and Jetfire drew their attention towards him.
"Given that we are not from this dimension. It is possible that there is another version of us that exists in this universe."
"We should tell Optimus," Wheeljack suggested.
"Not yet," said Jetfire, "we need a little more data to figure out what is going on."
Perceptor nodded to this, "while you lot find out what's going on in data files, I'll walk around the Ark, noticing any differences."
With that being said, Perceptor walks out of the lab.
Down the hallways, Perceptor uses his microscope on his shoulder, in a unique way to scan layouts of the Ark. Nothing seemed surprising to him. The layout was the same, every room and corridor layout the same way too, as if…it hasn't been touched in a long time.
The Autobot paused for a moment, gathering the data he collected. Something felt off to him and he couldn't place his finger on it. Heavy stomping reverberates across the hallways. The only Autobot who is known for such heavy footsteps on the Ark is none other than Grimlock.
"You noticed it too?"
Perceptor looks at the Dinobot confused.
"Care to elaborate, Grimlock?"
"Grimlock told other Autobots yesterday."
"I wasn't there."
The Dinobot gave an exasperated sigh, "Grimlock was in forest with other Dinobots. Grimlock now without other Dinobots."
Perceptor took notice of the Dinobot's tone of voice. Taking a wild guess — Grimlock already misses his teammates, and now, he's trying to cope with it.
"I'm sure your teammates are alright Grimlock. We'll find a way to get back home."
"Tsk, not fast enough."
"Grimlock, if you want to feel useful, perhaps you can help me with the ship, there is a lot of ground to cover–"
"Already did."
Perceptor raised an optic ridge, "Would you care to explain what you found?"
"Ship been here long time."
"That is to be expected."
"Ark different, not same Ark as ours. Ark is old, old than our Ark. Hidden underground, not above."
Perceptor folded his arms to think for a moment. The Ark is older than our own Ark, perhaps Grimlock means that the change of climate has weathered it down, or judging from the video log from earlier, whoever was in charge of this ship has either abandoned it or is no longer alive. What doesn't add up is why we were transported to this Ark.
"I feel like something else is at play, but I don't know exactly."
"Have you told Prime?"
"Not yet, although it would be a wise decision given new information about the Ark."
Jazz turned back to what he was doing after Optimus and the others left the communication room. Organizing data within the system. Once he was done, however, Jazz searched through the interweb. 'Ultra Megalopolis,' Jazz typed in. Various web articles pop up, mostly from the Alola region.
Clicking on one of the web articles, a video played on top of the article — an interview with a pale, grey-blue skin human with a futuristic outfit. "What is Ultra Megalopolis like?" the reporter asked.
"It's a beautiful dimension to visit, unfortunately, I do not recommend staying, due to our lack of sun."
"What happened to your sun?"
"Necrozma happened, it stole all of our light," –a picture of a dark prism creature appeared on screen– "but to some of you, you may know it as the blinding one." Another picture pops up of an old ruined stone; a white and golding dragon that sported four pairs of wings. At the bottom of the ruin, there were two other creatures: one that looks like a lion that resembles the sun and the other looks like a skeletal, legless bat that resembles the moon.
"Can you tell us what happened to Necrozma?"
"Necrozma is locked up in Megalo Tower, thanks to Champion Elios."
Jazz stops the video so he can continue with the article. Within the writing, it talks more in-depth about the dimension and how the people used to worship the creature or ultra beast (What the Aether foundation calls it) before it went out of control and stole the dimension's light. Jazz laid back in his seat, the humans in this world manage to create interdimensional travel before Cybertronains could.
At best, interdimensional travel was more of a theory. The closest thing they had to it was the space bridge — jumping from one planet to another.
Going back to the search bar, typing in 'Fallers', a simple definition pops up: Individuals who literally fall from the sky because it is believed that they slipped through an Ultra Wormhole.
"Huh," so they wouldn't be considered Fallers if they didn't 'literally' fall out of the sky.
Jazz's quick research was coming to an end when he got a call from Optimus.
"Jazz, you read me?"
"I hear ya Prime, how'd the walk go?"
"I will have to call a meeting. Meet me by the Ark's entrance, I believe Daisy needs your assistance."
"On it Prime."
Optimus drove to the entrance of the Ark, where Jazz stood at the bottom of the ramp. The Prime opens his passenger door only for the human and her pokemon to dash out in the opposite direction.
"What happened?" Jazz asked, concerned about his charge.
"We saw the Legendaries — and a vision that they gave of… of Megatron."
"Where's Windblade?"
"She is coming but I must call the others for this."
"I gotcha Prime," said Jazz, running off to catch up with Daisy.
Daisy made it all the way to the cave entrance, her lungs burning from all the running. She held her hands on her knees, gasping for air whilst tears slowly made their way down her face. When she finally caught her breath, she fell to the ground, tears running faster than before. Swirls of images floated around her — taunting her.
The world spun around her, her heart began to race while the cry of her Vapoeron turned to white noises. 'Calm down, calm down! It's in the past, it can't hurt you anymore! Calm down!.' The thought repeated in her head.
A pair of arms wrapped around her waist making her jump in the process. She turned around facing the person. Jazz's avatar took down at her; without a word, he brought her closer to him. Not holding it anymore, Daisy sobbed into his arms, each cry louder than the other.
Jazz look her backpack off and rubbed the back of her, slowly her cries began to fade. The soft autumn breeze sang through the tree, as the grass waved against the three figures.
"What happen sweetspark? What got ya spook?"
Vaporeon watches as her trainer released herself from Jazz's embrace. Daisy used her sleeve to rub her eyes, "I– I saw–"
"I saw Megatron," the Prime said in front of his soldiers. A large metal table sat in the middle of the war room and around it sat the Autobots. Optimus finishes explaining what he saw during his walk. Windblade (along with Prowl) stand at the far end of the room.
"Is there a way to know when this will happen?" Arcee asked.
"I'm afraid not, it has yet to be confirmed if this creature is a pokemon or not. Either way, it's best that we be on guard for this potential threat."
The Autobots mumble amongst themselves before Wheeljack clears his 'throat'. "Optimus, there is also another case you should know about."
Optimus nods his head for approval, allowing Wheeljack to walk in front of the room. Wheeljack places a device on the table as a holographic screen appears and hovers in the air.
"Jetfire tried breaking down the audio, unfortunately, this is all we could get."
With a push of a button, the video played.
This planet contains –zzt– amount –zzt–
Our race cause so much –zzt– and this planet doesn't need us, leave the –zzt– alone, let them decide what to do with it. Half of our race has already –zzt– out and I believe it's better that way. To any Cybertronian watching this, leave –zzt– planet alone.
The Autobot stared in shock.
"Was– was that Hot Rod?"
"That can't be… where is he?"
"He said this earth contains something."
"I wouldn't be surprised if he meant the pokemon"
"Did you guys notice the human on his shoulder?"
"Everyone, settle down. Wheeljack, what is the meaning of this?" asked Optimus.
"That is what we are trying to figure out. There are more video logs similar to this but they are more like a document than anything."
This time Jetfire chimed in, "we assumed the other logs talked about the pokemon and 'Hot Rod's' human friend but just like this one, it would take time to decipher."
"This is crazy, this planet is crazy, this whole situation is crazy. Wish Megatron never built that machine." Sideswipe snarled.
"We all wish that, and this is our predicament now and we must protect this Earth as well," Optimus stated.
With a heavy vent from some of the crew members they agreed.
They were both standing up after Daisy told her story. The way Daisy described the dragon sounds awfully familiar to Jazz but that also led to a memory of hers she wished she could forget. Memories of that day — the Darkest Day.
The wind howled through her ears while trying to help Galar's champion up. Two boys fighting against a purple skeletal dragon, their pokemon struggling to keep moving. A few pieces of debris were thrown at them, trying their best to dodge. Everything was going too fast and not fast enough to properly react.
"First Eternatus, then Mewtwo, now this," she said calmly, "I don't know why I act tough even though I'm mentally weak. I couldn't even save those people when they needed me. Why do I fight rather than just leave? "
Jazz put his hands on her shoulders, "'cause you're not."
"Jazz–"
"No, listen. I don't want to see ya put yourself down just because of a memory. I've only known ya for a few days and what I've seen, yer a strong will person. I'm still a little upset with ya for trying to let your brother go unsupervised but the way the both of you fight, the teamwork you have with your pokemon says a lot. And from what I can tell, yer willing to protect those ya care for."
Daisy opened her mouth to protest but didn't have the come back to do so, instead, she let Jazz take over the conversation.
"Sweetspark, you won't be able to save everyone but still be able to save enough. And I quote a certain person 'I faced danger before but never alone'."
Daisy's eyes widened as she was caught off guard by his choice of words. It was the same words she spoke to Sunstreaker during their little sparring. A small chirp came from Vaporeon; Daisy looked down on her best friend, smiling brightly as the sun on a summer day.
He was right, she let her emotions get the best of her that she brushes over the fact her pokemon are always by her side. "Yeah– sorry. I guess I was overwhelmed. You're right though, my pokemon are always with me — I never fight alone."
"That's my girl, now where's that smile of yours?"
"Okay, okay." Daisy smiled ear to ear.
"Ready to head back?"
"Actually, I need to head to town. I'm running low on supplies."
With that being said, Jazz's avatar evaporated whilst he transformed into his robot mode. He plops himself in the creek, resting his hand on the ground for his companions. "Ready to go?"
As The Journey Continue...
